  • Dang!

Any chance of that 7800X3D build, but with a 4080 Super instead?

    • +5

We have this deal running at the moment for 7800X3D | 4080 Super. Nothing currently slated differently just now.

  • Hey Luke - I have a 9 business day old order I emailed in about; wanted to check it's still on track to ship by Monday.

    • Happy to look into it, would need some specifics if you can

  • +4

Any ITX builds coming up soon? :)

    • +4

Would love to see these too, ideally a 4080s 7800X3D in a nice little case like the T1 v2.1 or 2.5 or the ncase M1.

I suspect no because the build time would skyrocket?

    • +1

We know they're crazy popular but sourcing components continues to be the challenge. Not a short term thing.

      • Cool. Missed out on the cheap itx deal earlier this year. I’ll follow along if you do another budget itx.

  • Thanks! Any chance of leaper edge (or other aquarium style) case as an upgrade option?

    • Yep, bit complicated to offer on this deal listing with pricing structure, but we can offer the Leaper Edge Tank from other deals a bit cheaper - can be arranged by email to [email protected]

  • -8

Still waiting for the itx build with rtx 4060 I ordered on 28 March. Shouldn’t state 5-10 days in the ad when it could take a month or more. Please fulfil previous orders before taking on new orders. Response from sales “The specialist ITX boards for these PCs are still on their way to us - we are hopeful that they'll be arriving this week and they'll be prioritised for build as soon as they arrive, but the timeline means production will likely slip into next. This may mean that we'll be outside our original 5-10 business day estimate for these ones, but our hands are tied regrettably, as there are no other ITX options available to us to deliver this type of deal to you. Thank you for your patience”

    • +4

An order placed on March 28 is on business day 9 today considering the Easter Public Holidays. The boards are in Adelaide so these will be finalised next week. We're very close to the estimate on these, especially considering the ITX boards are hard to get and at this price.

Despite them always having the lowest price, this is something their customers have been warning of for a long time. Once these guys get your money service can be really hit or miss. I had a friend who bought one of their pcs years ago, they had GPU issues and TechFast were unresponsive and unhelpful. I can see the appeal of them if nothing goes wrong but I'd pay a bit more and shop elsewhere.

      • +1

To give another perspective on this, I have purchased multiple PC's from these guys and have recommended them to friends who have also placed multiple orders and everyone of them has been delivered on time, with clear and realistic communication, and none have missed a beat.

If you want to purchase a PC and pick it up that day, take your chances with a 2nd rate off the shelf unit from Good Guys or Harvey Norman. If you want a built to spec unit at a fantastic price with minimal wait time then you can't go past TechFast!

Despite them always having the lowest price, this is something their customers have been warning of for a long time.

That's precisely why they're always flooded with orders during their epic gaming PC deals.
No other vendors can really match them consistently and they're almost always cheaper than buying parts separately and DIY'ing it.

For the amount of performance you're getting for your money with TechFast's builds in 2024, I wouldn't be complaining.

It's also worth mentioning, these kinds of complaints appear fairly regularly on deals posted by the other system builder regulars like BPC and Nebula. If it's a popular deal, you have to expect that you could be waiting longer than the estimated turnaround times.

      • But you know before you buy

    • +1

To be fair; you can’t expect them to stop all business until you get your pc. Especially considering it’s a delay in parts not assembly.
Please update us when it arrives though so we can consider these timeframes of placing orders down the track.

  • +1

If I place an order, how long it will take time normally?
Because, I alway see some reply in regarding to the delay issue.

    • -1

5-10 business days holds for the vast majority of the very many PCs we ship - as mentioned in the deal post we're definitely closer to 10 business days at the moment with some backlog, but we're working through it.

      • +1

Out of curiosity, do you have a pic of your workshop build desks/assembly line where computers are built?

  • Is the 4090 combo a good one for VR (flight / driving sims)?

    • -5

      lmao

    • A 4090 is good for everything, but depending on your resolution you can get away with 4070 or 4070 super builds.

      • Thanks, I was more so enquiring about the other parts in the build - CPU, Ram, etc? Unfortunately, it looks like even a 4090 won't run flight sims like MSFS or DCS at high frame rates with some top end VR headsets.

        • Ah, Sorry I missed the VR and your question was so short. Yes, you would need a high end PC. And you probably know the answer to your question already. That reminds me, I need to try MSFS on my Quest 2 and see. My 3080Ti would probably struggle. VR and stutters are not a good combo.

    • +1

I run a 4080 and 7800x3D with a HP Reverb G2, playing racing sims exclusively (ACC and AMS2). I can run them on max settings and resolution with an empty track (hot lapping) but large grids I’ll need to bump down to high settings if I want to maintain a comfortable 90fps. Night mode and rain add more stress.

I’d say a 4090 would get you very comfortable (I mean it is the best of the best), but you can get away with a 4080 depending on your settings. Check out OpenXR with OpenComposite.

Sorry, no experience with flight sims (though they’d be cool!).

  • That is a great price for the
    4090 and 7800x3D

This is a lot cheaper than the usual Australian PC retailers.

  • Would the 4060 build here be overkill for my daughter who only wants it for Fortnite and only cares about 120fps+? Or would the 4060 in the following deal be sufficient?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/837288

I literally know nothing about gaming PC’s so any advice would be appreciated.

    • +2

Either will be fine, will be able to run high to ultra settings at 1080p and get 120+fps. The 4060ti will be better in the long run though especially if they decide to play other games in a couple years.

      • Cheers for the reply. She’s paying for it her self and has the money for the cheaper one now so we’ll just go with that and she can worry about upgrades down the track.

        Thanks again.

        • That's probably the way to go the $250 jump here probably isn't worth it for her needs and in general if you're making that jump may as well make the next jump to 7800xt for $1300 mark.

  • FINALLY! We get 6000 MHz DDR5!!!

Now all that’s left is the B650E/X670E motherboards and I’m happy to give you my money!

  • I ordered one of these desktops on 29th of March thinking that they will deliver in with in 10 days as they suggest. It is 13th of April today, i dont even have any message from them about my machine. Not a very good experience.

    • You ordered on Good Friday - 9 business days have elapsed since you ordered. With a bit of luck you might hear some good news on Monday.

    • That sucks. I ordered mine on the 29th as well for their previous 4090 deals and it arrived on the 12th of April. Shipped out within the timeframe and delivered earlier than the estimated day so I was pleased.

  • +1

Feels bad. I just got the previous 4090 deal from Techfast which arrived yesterday however it only had 32GB DDR5 5200MHZ RAM instead of the 6000 advertised here and is almost the exact same price and build.

  • If I take out my M2 SSD, and just put it this machine will I just change boot drive install drivers and go?

    • +1

Should be fine yeah, hard to say as OS stuff can be funny especially if moving off a different chipset/GPU platform

      • Thank you - this answers this!

  • There seems to be no 14900k or 14900ks in the cpu selection.

    • +1

Only the KF at this stage mate

    Just got my PC 4090 + 7800X3D + 360mm MSI AIO + MSI X670
no issues so far, well built with good cable management
7800X3D does run hot, not very familiar with AMD Zen but 80c seem normal

    • Curious, when did you place your order? Thinking about getting this build.

      • around mid march, but I needed them to hold off on deliver for 2 weeks

    • Try undervolting the CPU. Can get much lower temps and in some cases, better performance

      • I did it at -25, with 80c cap, was expecting a 360mm to be more effective, either that or it's the thermal paste.

        • Maybe try reapplying thermal paste. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is my go-to

        • How'd you go fixing the temps? I just received my build and i have to say, it looks rushed, a whole component wasn't even connected correctly. Haven't had a chance to run any temp checks yet as i'm going over the build to double check everything.
