Didn’t think we would see them at this price again. New model coming perhaps?

For what it’s worth, I’d buy new over refurbished Dell every time. I went through 3 refurbs of this model, fortunately all covered under warranty.

    • +1

Bought brand new couldn’t turn on after just 1 year. Got an replacement straight away hopefully this one can serve me longer.

    • +1

got refurb for $329 couple years back, never had issues

very good monitor for productivity. veey clear and pleasing to work with

sold it on however because replaced with g3223q when the price dipped below $500. it's super good and much better for gaming..

    nice deal

AMD FreeSync on 60Hz, looks good

We have these at work, they have intermittent flickering and ghosting with Mac Silicon. They easily swivel into portrait mode.

    • +1

I’ve seen this in the 32” model but overcome it with adjusting the screen settings

      • Any chance you can remember what those settings are?

        • +3

I've got 2 of them connected to my M1 MBP at the moment

I've had it on and off - it's a nightmare.

But been stable for a whille:

I have turned off True Tone and Night Shift.

Connected both displays via Belkin TB3 Dock.

One Using Display Port Cable, the other with a Display Port to USB-C Cable.

And then the Macbook connected to the Dock via the Thunderbold Cable

I warranty replaced 3 of them when I got them, as when it started I couldnt get them to look right at all.
The ghosting would not go away.

A short term fix is to run the LCD conditioning on them if it starts ghostings and being weird :-)

          • +1

@firecall: Cheers mate. I don't use any of the screen gimmicks and don't have a dock. Will give the LCD conditioning a go next time it happens.

          • +1

@firecall: Try the StillColor app on GitHub and disable dithering

    • +1

Strange. Never had any issues with my MBP M1X

    • +1

Mate had one we got off the same deal. He has a mac m2/3 and had issues. Newer hardware revisions apparently fixed the issue as he got an advanced replacement swap from Dell warranty direct. Ymmv though.

I've never had an issue with an m1 but I believe it was more the m2/3 models.

A firmware update might help, but conveniently you can only update them via windows.. So those who only own macs which have the problem are SOL. (this was my friend's issue. Has Linux and Mac only)

    • +1

My M1 Air doesn’t have this issue. I think it’s got something to do with refresh rates that you need to turn off or something if I recall though. But there’s definitely a setting to fix the issue.

      • I use four monitors on my Max and one of them defaulted to a weird refresh rate, like 75 even though 60 should have been the limit.

    • I have the P2723QE and had no issues on my previous Intel Mac, but have some crazy issues triggered by certain dark greys on my newer M2 MBP.

Went through an extensive forum thread on MacRumours trying all the suggested settings and even updated firmware via a windows PC but nothing has reliably helped. Read in that forum that other brands have the issue too, I think LG might be an exception or something?

If it’s true that a hardware replacement would fix it, would love to know then I’d send it back in a heartbeat

      • All I know is mine is RevA00. Mates new replacement is A02.

        • +1

Contacted Dell following your comment and I now have a replacement with a newer revision - can’t remember if it’s A02 or A03. Haven’t seen any ghosting since, my saved trigger photo didn’t trigger the issue on the new one but it doesn’t always work to trigger the fault anyway

    • I had the same ghosting issue but i got it replaced under warranty and havent seen it since.

    • I have two of these and use them with M1, M2 and M3 and never seen any issues whatsoever.

Great quality design/productivity monitors and quite decent for 60hz gaming too (I've used XSX and PS5 on it) as long as you don't expect the darkest of dark blacks.

  • +3

I’ve got one. Decent monitor. IPS glow is quite severe. Way more than my 11yo UltraSharp. I don’t know how normal this is but it was quite jarring to me. I stopped using a black background because it was so noticeable. There’s almost a hint of colour inversion towards the corners. Disappointed after it had quite good reviews. But otherwise colour reproduction is good and works well. A little plasticky.

    • weird, I've got 4 of them in my house and they all have none of that

      • Hmm maybe I should be talking to Dell. Maybe something wrong. I sit with it at arms length so it’s not too close or anything. Thanks for letting me know.

      • -2

I have got 10 pf them and issues galore

    • Yes, I have a similar problem. It was so bad I got Dell to replace it. New one is better, but not as good as the older Dells.

  • Have a similar size and model dell also but I think my next will be 32" hard to read text at it's original size starting to develop nerd neck hunching closer to read…

  • I got this monitor at this price last week, but going to return it. I don't know if it's the monitor or just me, but my eyes start hurting when using the monitor even when I've turned the brightness down. Might be the bigger screen size as I've always been using 23inch. Idk.

    • Use your phone's camera to see if there's any flickering and see how it changes depending on brightness and other settings.

    • It might be the white shadow of text when you’re scrolling? Happened to me as well had to turn off HDR through the monitor setting that fixed the issue

  • i wish they sold this model without the height adjustable stand

    • +4

Why? Just don't attach it 🤔

      • +1

So he could resist the desire to pull the trigger, I guess. $360 would have been saved

  • +1

I bought 2 of these with the student discount and they are very nice monitors.

  • +1

Comes down to $333.52 with 7% EPP coupon

    • How do you get onto this?

  • +1

These were just under 300 couple years back right?

    • You may be thinking of the similar S2721QS model which I also remember picking up for ~$290. The one in this deal supports USB-C, has a hub, etc.

  • Can anyone recommend something similar but with usbc 100W? Or is that a bit niche at the moment? TIA!

    • Their professional / business line up has 100w AFAIK. More $$ though.

  • +1

How are these so expensive again?

  • +2

4k, 27 inch, usb-c power passthrough, usb hub, adjustable stand - perfect wih a laptop at the side. Ordered two for a couple of new starters

    • Agree. I bought one just before Xmas for home office. Great monitor.

  • +1

I got one last week at this price. It's great but doesn't seem to register HDR.
Even though it says " Experience 4 times more screen detail than FHD with the unrivaled clarity and vibrant colour of UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution with HDR support."

  • I bought this monitor in Feb 2022 for $369 and have no complaints

  • +3

Was able to get a further 7% off to $333 with the long-running Save 7% and 10% on Selected Products @ Dell Student Purchase Program deal.

I have the S2721QS monitor - would I be possible to have a dual monitor WFH set up using S2721QS and S2722QC with a M3 Macbook air?

    • +1

I have a MPB M3 and my S2721QS started flickering with the latest OSX update 14.4.1

  • I have two computers hooked up to one of these monitors using HDMI1 & HDMI2 and when switching between the two computers 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work. It doesn't pick up the signal of the other computer, it does the same thing switching from either computer its so frustrating trying to get the monitor to work.
Does anyone else have this problem?

  • I pulled the trigger yesterday. Initial estimated delivery was today! But that was too good to be true. I just got an email saying there has been a delay and it will arrive next week. Annoying - one of the reasons I purchased it was because I needed it by Thursday!

    • +1

I received another email today (midday) from Dell saying the monitor has shipped and is expected to arrive tomorrow.

  • Ha, I was just looking at grabbing a 4k. Thanks!

  • +2

Just a quick PSA, this monitor does not have a DP port in the I/O. You'll need to use a USB-C to DP cable if you want to use it with a desktop (or HDMI)

  • prices showing $399.30 ??
