For those who missed out on the previous deal or aren't interested in the 2023 version is this deal on the 6GB/128GB MediaTek Kompanio 1300T CPU variant of the Xiaoxin Pad Pro in the colour Gold that's quite light in colour.

I've been using this one since January and it's easily my favourite tablet yet. The OLED screen is beautiful, the Android ROM isn't sluggish and the CPU/GPU paired with the fast RAM/storage handles every game thrown at it.

This one is running the unofficial Global ROM without Widevine L1 for Netflix HD and OTA updates, so you should reflash it with the official global ROM by following instructions here and here.

Features include an 11.2" 2560x1536 OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 600nits brightness, HDR10+ & Dolby Vision, 6GB RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1 Storage (microSD support), 8200mAh battery with 30W fast charging, USB-C with Video Out, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and POGO pins for charging/keyboard.

  • I guess ram is so expensive that many Xiaomi are putting 4,6gb only?

  • Does this come with a pen? If so are there any reviews of it?

  • +2

I can't decide between this and the 2023 model. Main usage will be internet browsing and movies. Wife may do some banking and shopping. Any recommendations.

    • +4

      2022 version for media consumption
      2023 version for performance

narrow it down to that option, everything else doesn't matter as much

      • Thank you. I thin I'll go with the 2022 version.

      • Is the tablet good enough for office programs (word, excel, etc) & pdf edit?

    • +5

I wouldn’t trust this for banking, but if you do, make sure you at the very least flash the offical rom and not use the franken rom that has had who knows what injected.

      • -1

        Your bank doesn't have 2FA?

    • The OLED screen should be a big swing factor for movies and tv.

  • +1

Such a great tablet. Rigged these up for the kiddos to replace some Samsung crap from 2020. Double thumbs up.

  • +1

Bought one. Thanks @Clear and @Chewkl!

If flashed to be a Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 does that mean it will get the ongoing updates to Android 14 that the Tab P11 pro will get?

Also, I'm after a cheap but tough case if anyone has suggestions.

    • +1

Once flashed it gets all the OTA updates and everything else.

  • Been watching these for a while. Coming up as $310 for me. Do I need to pay in USD to get it under $300 AUD?

Yep, looks like I do :)

  • Are any of the cases any good?

  • Best tablet I have owned. I use the offfical keyboard case and pen and its great.

  • Did anyone else get their order closed (cancelled) out of nowhere?

I just got an email that they cancelled it with no explanation and money refunded.

    • Hmmm, no. Mine has allegedly shipped and I have a tracking number. When did you order? I ordered at 23:59 on the 18th

      • 18th 21:53

        • Weird. Checked my tracking number and it seems to be moving through the system

    • Mine shipped with tracking

    • Yes, happened to me the second time now. I'm not sure why this happens since I would assume they run out of stock and missed the shipping window but it looks like the listing is still available.

    • Same here. I don't understand how orders can be cancelled, yet the listing remains open.

      • +1

I had a chat with the seller and their response was "Dear friend, I am sorry, the order was canceled by the system. The refund will be returned to you. Sorry. Normally this accident won't occur again." I made another purchase and it's currently being shipped. My guess is that the MediaTek variant ran out of stock hence it is now showing the Snapdragon one.

        • Thanks for the reply. Sounds promising, I'll try again next time.

  • Picking one up now, anyone found a pen that works for it? There's so many ads like this one that say they work for the 2022 version
www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006388869720.html but apparently only the precision pen 3 works?

    • The issue I think is happening, is that those pens are the precision pen 3 (just read your links reviews where an image calls it the precision pen 3), but are labelled something entirely different. My theory is that the Lenovo Stylus Pen 2 is actually the Precision Pen 3 if you have a look at images comparing it.

I bit the bullet and got one, will confirm back to this!

      • how did it go? Or are you still waiting on delivery?

        • Nope I did get it, apologies for the delay. Turns out it is the Precision Pen 3. It took a while to work (had to restart the tablet multiple times and charge the pen completely and disconnect the pen) but after much technical difficulties it works like a charm.

This is the link I got:
          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004725746783.html?spm=a2…

          • @verdikt: Thanks, that's good to know! Might get one as well then once I see a good sale.

  • @Clear this now links to the Snapdragon version for ~$320. Is that still a good deal? Looking at getting something for media consumption on longer flights and maybe some note taking

    • +2

SD version has the ZUI skinned version of Android and perfectly fine to use. The only gotcha is that you need to enable Google Services in settings and download Google Play from the Lenovo app store. Then you're good to go.

      • thanks mate

      • Thanks Clear. I accidentally bought the SD silver version. Can I still reflash it with your instructions mentioned in your description box?

        • +1

No. There's no global ROM. ZUI is perfectly fine anyway.

  • @Clear: Would you know which stylus would be compatible with the Snapdragon version of the tablet? I'm reading mixed reviews of the Precision Pen 2 not working on the 2022 version. I purchased this one from a previous link you had shared: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004725746783.html

    • +1

That's a rabbit hole I really don't want to go down and give the wrong answer.

      • Totally fair, I bit the bullet and purchased one. I'll get back and see how it is! Thanks for your help, you have been much better on the support end than Lenovo's own team.

The Snapdragon tablet is also back much cheaper for the next 5 hours in case anyone is interested!

      • Hey Clear, I got this one and it is the Precision Pen 3. Thought I'd let you know :)

  • Received mine. Updating it per description now.

Update no problems. Not a bad device for media consumption. Noticed a little heat spot near the camera but overall OLED is sharp.

  • Anyone else had an issue with the tablet not clearing import customs? Got notice overnight that it arrived at Tullamarine, Melbourne. And then that it failed to clear import customs.

    • +1

I need to start putting that in every deal. Normal and will clear

  • Ordered this on March 20 and received it today March 28 no issues. Flashed to USA latest version with no problems using the RSA tool. Thanks!

  • Not sure anyone in the same situation, I ordered it on 20/03, arrived in Tullamarine on 25 and stuck there since. Tracking only reads Arrived at linehaul office

    • Nothing to be concerned about. It's Easter and things take time.

      • Yeah it makes sense. Frankly, I always have positive experience with Aliexpress delivery for the last few years. This is the first time something got held up so a little bit worried.

    • Yeah same thing happened to me. Tracking stuck for days.

  • Ordered mine 18 March and it arrived yesterday, 28 March.

    • Mine has been in Perth since the 24th, but still not delivered. Takes longer to get delivered locally than to go from China to Australia.

  • Turned out mine was delivered on Easter Sunday (go figure). Managed to flash it to the Global ROM yesterday. I followed the instructions, but I did run into an error where it couldn't load the Mediatek driver (I'm on Windows 11). I had to go into "Core Isolation" settings and disable "Memory Integrity", reboot the PC and try again. Thankfully it went through that time, though I was sweating for a bit.

    The screen is amazing.

    • Thanks for the tip, mine just arrived today. I'll be installing the global rom soon and will probably run into the same issue

Looks like mine already has a Global rom. Everything is English and the Play Store is there. Did yours not already have it?

I'll probably flash it again anyway, just to start with a clean slate

      • Yeah, the box was unsealed, so it must have been the seller who put a different ROM on it. But I'm not entering my credentials into some custom ROM of unknown origin. Also, that ROM is Android 12, and I doubt it will do OTA upgrade to Android 13 (though I haven't tried). Flashing with a clean Android 13 ROM that comes directly from Lenovo gives me a bit more confidence that I can use the device safely and that it will continue to receive updates.

Disabling memory integrity requires a reboot, so consider disabling it before you start the whole process, so you don't waste time aborting the process halfway. I read somewhere that the error is like a bug, with Windows 11 seeing it as a false-positive for a threat.

        • Haha yeah, I wasn't game to enter my credentials into it either, flashing it now :)

I already have Memory Integrity off, I think I disabled it for something else a while ago

I really need a case or something for this now. Just something that protects the screen and doubles as a stand would be nice

Edit: Probably just grab this https://www.amazon.com.au/Kepuch-TB132FU-TB138FC-Ultra-Thin-…

  • This tablet is awesome so far. Wifi speeds maxing out my 1000 Mbit connection, screen is amazing, it's pretty snappy and has no issues playing 4K mkvs over my local network.

One small weird thing is that it will only pull 5v 2A (10w) from one of the chargers I use all the time, but seem to pull 9v 2A from another one. I haven't tried the supplied charger yet.

It seems others have the same issue in only getting 10w from many chargers.
