    Any iPhone 14 deal?

  • +5

    Thanks got some XM4s!

  • Works with Sony Box Damaged. Just picked up a XR55X90L for $1199. Not as good as the last deal brand new but oh well.

  • +3

Sony XR55A80K 55" OLED for $1329 seems like a good deal.

    • Wish I needed a TV right now, only 1 left

      • +1

        I wish I needed a Ferrari

  • Anyone bought a Sony refurb TV feedback online is a mixed bag

    • I did end of last year with the old refurb discount code. Other than a 'refurb' sticker on the box, it appears and operates exactly like new.

  • +8

Just a heads up guys if you’re planning to buy something refurbished from the Sony store - their definition of “refurbished” is heavily used / worn, not as new like you’d get with companies like Apple.

I bought an 83in OLED from one of these deals - the remote control was pretty gross, and the plastics on the TV showed signs of significant use.

    • especially wearables

      • thats 2 posts on this deal about this now. show us on the Doll where Sony refurbs touched you.

        • -4

hahah you got so negged hahaha

    • +2

Thanks mate might pass and wait for box damaged instead cheers in saying that the xm4 headphones I got were like new

    • +1

Opposite for me. Bought a 85" X85K and it was in absolute perfect condition. Brand new remote.

      • -2

You're an exception then. My Sony TV was terrible. Would've done better buying from Gumtree

        • +1

Perhaps your TV was the exception?

        • Ok, so this is my experience with Sony refurbs over the years which included a TV, a sound system, several cameras, lenses and headphones. They were usually 95-99% as new in appearance. None anywhere near "heavily used / worn" as another commenter said. But then I could be lucky so far (touch wood). One pair headphones looked new but stunk of cigarette, one camera looked new but had to be returned because several small dots showed up on the sensor. Overall Sony store 96% positive feedbacks is similar to my success rate. With that odds, I am happy to take my chance buying Sony refurbs when good deals appear.

          • +1

@Buy2Much: I bought a pair of refurb headphone and the packaging was filthy and full of stickers, I can't know why they had to stick so many sticker on it.

          • +1

@Buy2Much: I’m not sure why you’re trying to downplay myself and some of the other commenters who’ve had a negative experience with this.
If you’ve had an excellent experience with Sony seconds, that’s amazing - you should definitely keep checking out their deals.

I only purchased a refurb from them once, had a negative experience and now I wouldn’t bother again. I honestly think I could have gotten a better deal buying used, because that’s what the TV I received was.

Im just giving a heads up to everyone else because (like me) they might not be willing to take a gamble when it’s a several thousand dollar purchase.

Even your “95% new” assessment of the condition of your items would be low for some - if you’ve purchased a refurb from Apple / Miele etc. you’d expect to see something fully refreshed and identical to new.

            • +1

@cubeh: Read my post again. Nothing in my post downplayed anyone's experience, I simply shared my own purchasing experience of MORE than 1 refurb item over several years, BOTH good and bad. Other people are welcome to share their own experiences for community's benefits, I don't go around negging their experiences. Obviously some neggers can't read or can't deal with people sharing actual experience different to their own :-p
Or I could be selfish and say nothing, more people avoid buying Sony refurbs means more chances for me to score a bargain for myself :-p

    • -1

I mean just buy a new remote and clean the tv

      • +2

My point was if you’ve purchased from Apple or other places that fully refresh their devices for a refurb (including the exterior plastics) then you might be a bit disappointed.

If you’ve just paid thousands for a TV and you have to throw the remote away / clean the TV yourself - it’s not ideal.

It clearly doesn’t bother you though, so please go ahead

  • any codes for USED items?

  • +6

Bufferstock (refurb pcs) jacked their prices this morning. Worked out cheaper to buy most of their stuff yesterday before applying this deal!

    • Rather odd strategy as on a few laptops I checked, their Ebay price even without discount code is still cheaper than what's listed on their actual webstore.

  • I literally bought xm4 refurbs about 3 days ago for $280, havent even posted yet :(

    • Lucky for you then, cancel and repurchase at lower price.

    • Cancel it!

    • says it's too late to cancel so I'd have to contact the seller

edit: whatever I bought another one, if both end up shipping I can probably sell one for like $250

edit 2: the first one literally just got marked as shipped :(

      • Their policy allows returns:

        Item must be returned within
30 days after the buyer receives it

  • Box Damaged Sony TVs look to be a good deal.

I purchased one a few years ago, the thing was new and the box wasnt even damaged!

    • +2

I wouldn't touch Sony box damaged / refurbished/ seconds with a barge pole. Purchased a seconds tv a few years ago, box arrived with a nice dent in it. When I opened the box, the tv screen was smashed. It took over a month with numerous emails and phone calls to a Sony to get a refund, and in the end I did a PayPal dispute because Sony kept giving me the run around.
      Worst customer service ever.

    Bye bye Sony!

  • Any good laptops?

  • is the search link broken

    • no

      • -2

        don't LIE

        • I took the time to test and replying. I guess being helpful does not pay. I will keep quiet next time…

          • -1

@Buy2Much: Nah I think it was bugged out for a minute then came back, thanks Quokka

  • Any laptops worth getting from here? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/828632#comment-14909761
