      Pixel 8 Pro 128GB

      $1277 in Nov 23
      $1377 in Dec 23
      $1477 in Jan 24
      $1577 in Feb 24?

      $2577 for Boxing Day 24?

      • Yea Black Friday was great. Some retailers even gave bonus gift cards on top! Boxing Day was a let down for Pixel sales

    • Correct, it's out today.

Now available on the Google Store; the colour is called Mint (to match the Mint case that was available from launch). Seems to only be available in 128GB though

    • Everybody knows the only true Pixel colour is Pixel 4 XL Orange.

Pretty sure if you do a return with the Google store the replacement phone is a refurbished one. Much better getting it from an actual store like jb hifi that will replace it with a brand new phone.

Not sure why this comment was negged, but based on my personal experience, it's 100% true.

They tried offering me a refurb as a replacement for a faulty unit a while ago, and I quite nicely requested a new unit to be sent out haiyaaaa

    • +3

This just seems like it makes sense to me though.. I'd be more surprised about getting a brand new one replacement than a refurb

      • +1

Exactly, Apple do the same thing.

        • +1

But that's not a good thing.

          • @reu: It isn't, but it's also not viable for a business to replace it with a brand new product.

            • @Maths Debater: I think we'll have to disagree. If Apple has to cut into its profit to make good for inconveniencing the customers that get a faulty product, I'm ok with that. Apple is doing ok last I checked.

      • You don't know what abuse the refurbished one might have suffered. I don't think a customer should suffer that risk on top of experiencing a faulty product.

When I asked for replacement, they never mention about sending refurb. When I got the refurb unit, I was really disappointed. I am in call with them now to get a new unit. Not sure how well it will go

    • +1

Stick to your guns. Update how you go

    • Thanks, I got a defective unit too, Wifi issue and Sound issue, I will make sure to expressly ask for a new unit not a refurb.

I'm sick of the bad quality of Google phone (but I can't helm myself and stay with them year after year)

      • +1

only the camera quality is good. My pixel 7 pro - screen broke from a small drop on the floor with a case - the screen quality is garbage and the battery doesnt last long.

Degoogle this or any late model Pixel by putting GrapheneOS on it and take back your privacy

  • With the 390 store credit - Can that be used for the phone purchase?

    • No. It's credited to your account after the phone is shipped.

      • I presume it can be used for future phone purchases? Might be worth if you intend on upgrading to the next Pixel that comes out.

        • Yup definitely can use for future

So price match 256gb 8pro at google store = $1547
    10% student beans/unidays = $1392
    $390 Google store credit = $1002
    10% credit by sub to 2TB plan = $847.

Not bad if you're planning to buy other google products and services in the future.

    • Can the student beans discount apply on this deal?

    • This is incorrect. Google won't price match before the purchase (from my chat with them). They only price match AFTER (you can't use the discount code on the price match), which means that if the price match is applicable for the lowest amount AFTER your purchase price. eg. 10% disc code of 1799 = 1619. Price match is $1547, they'll only refund you the difference from the lowest discount code to the price match $1547($1619-$1547 = $72).

  • How to claim the price match? shall I email them?

  • I just price matched with Officeworks ($1447) and bought from the Google Store site.
I didn't use the Student Beans discount.

I bought the $1699 Mint 128gb from Google Store this morning.
Asked for the price match this morning using Contact Us form and Live chat on the Google Store site.
They then sent me a support email regarding the price match and refund.
Once I had confirmation that my phone was dispatched I replied to the support email and now they've processed the refund of $252 to my credit card on the same day.
Funds will come back to my credit card within 14 days.
Initially I thought it was going to be $252 store credit, but it's funds back to your payment method.

I'll also get the $390 store credit with the promotion going on right now and I'll hopefully get the $180 store credit for sending back my old Pixel 5.

    • Yup, did very similar!
