    Daily deal time again over at Watch Depot and this time they have something a little bit special - the top end of Citizen's Series 8 line, something that rarely gets discounted and certainly not to this level, and would normally lighten your wallet to the tune of about $2.5k.

    What's so special about this then? Why drop this amount of lucre when you could get 16 or 17 Steeldive SD1970s for the same coin?

    Because sometimes you want something that's really nice, and not just cheap. You pick this up and the quality drips off it. It really is steps above the watches that normally fill this OzBargain category. It gives nothing away to Swiss monsters costing several multiples of its price.

    The movement is an in-house Citizen movement, not a Miyota, something they don't do very often. It beats at 4Hz which gives a lovely smooth 8 ticks per second. Worst-case accuracy is specced at -5/+10 seconds per day - that's nudging COSC territory.

    It does come in other colourways, but this white dial variant is the pick of them IMO. Stark and classy, it says "I speak for myself, I don't need flashy colours to stand out." Yet it still looks like nothing else out there - the angular lines and bevels could only come from Japan, as if a master craftsman was handed a PRX and a Seiko Samurai and he said "hold my sake", and the two-piece bevel is unique. Pair it with your flashiest suit, and still have enough sportyness to wear on weekends with your casual outfits.

    If you think I'm talking it up a bit, it is because I am. Try it on, and there is only one thought going through your mind - "Want". Can't quite extend to a Grand Seiko? This Citizen might not quite reach those lofty heights but you can see them from here.

          To avoid this you can add 10 or more to the cart & go the checkout & it will show you if there is enough stock for a post. That's what the mods are doing.

            @WatchNerd: How to they know if that's because there is insufficient quantity or just a limit on the number that can be bought in one transaction? Surely one person buying 10 $1600 watches could raise some order limits and red flags that the checkout doesn't allow vs 10 people buying 1 watch…

        Very annoyingly they still gut games and place the cases on display. For new release games where they have more copies than needed to display, they'll keep sealed ones. For older titles, especially during sales, they'll be gutted yet still sold as 'new'.

        I don't mind them at all mate but few too many moans and niggles. Bit boring being one, could do without those Mercedes hands and crown bit small. Otherwise good dimensions and great for titanium.

    This is less than half list price, is this a historical low? Seems like a good deal to me! Seems to be limited stock in-store so you may need to pay delivery.

    I have one of these and it works great if you are happy with 2K resolution. Just beware of IR reflections from the transparent dome cover if you are primarily using this for nighttime surveillance.

          It's not as simple as that; it depends on the area you're covering amongst other things. Proper CCTV system design will take pixel density into account.

          4K pointed at a car park can show you what's happening but not ID anyone while FHD pointing at an doorway is enough to ID someone. Bluray and digital cinema was FHD for many years after all.

          4K for everything would be nice but not every situation benefits from 4K and not all 4K sensors have the same sensitivity as some FHD sensors as the pixel sizes are smaller.

    Officeworks Upper Mt Gravatt in QLD have got some great prices on some Melissa and Doug toddler toys. Not many in stock, maybe just 10 between the 3 items below and I couldn't find these for the price on their website. These are great toys and we have all of them. Paid quite a bit more for them. A few other things on clearance/sale in the same aisle but these are the stand outs.

    Seems like one of the better ways to get into espresso - PID temp control, adjustable pre-infusion, 3 second heatup, strong steam wand are all advantages over cheaper machines. Major difference vs the Plus is the lack of automatic milk steaming - I'm unconvinced this is worth the premium. I bought one last week and it works well, condition is as new. Since been restocked, white also available.

    I chose the orange NSW store I also think Dubbo have some left. Unfortunately you will need to drive to pick them up as they don't deliver from those stores

        I would agree except it's a very heavily domed crystal that would cost a small fortune to make with sapphire. That heavily domed crystal is one of the major visual elements of this series, so they likely wouldn't change it.
