At the moment, Officeworks has the cheapest price, maybe on sale at $344

    http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Com…

So 1 night stay is $115 - not too bad is you ask me

      • -2

well, it is easier to press on the neg button than to answer a simple question I guess.

Edit: Oh, I get it. Time to go and get the morning coffee I guess.

He's not saying 1 night stay is $115 as such. Rather, one night is $459 with tablet. You can get the tablet at OW for $344, so the one night stay is effectively costing you an extra $115.

For the record, I didn't neg you :)

        • hahaha, cheers!

Do you actually get to keep the tab? or is it a loaner for the period of your stay?
I can't see anything to indicate either way.

    • +1

The radio ad says yours to keep

  • Will they pricematch Officeworks?

    • +34

Maybe OW will pricematch and let you stay in the store overnight?

      • sorry jv accidentally negged you, was supposed to give u a "+". =D

  • -1

Seems like a loaner to me. Although the "colour subject to availability" gives u some hope it may be different

  • +1

have to call but sounds like you keep it. how else can everyone get a "new" one each time they stay.

    • +1

      "new" could mean current model?

  • +2

just called (I work across the road from the Traders Hotel).
you get to keep the galaxy tab.
    breakfast is additional $19.20.
If you want to stay without getting a galaxy tab then the rate is $159 per night (though I was inquiring about a week day stay).

    • so really according to the above maths, it'll save you about $45 above buying separately. You'd really want the tablet and need to stay in Brissy for it to be worth the effort. I will be staying in Brissy on 27-29 Dec so I could be in the market. Can't really justify it though.

        Can't really justify it though.

You can if someone else is paying for your accomodation/business trip…

I can see a lot of government employees taking up this offer…

        • I don't think it is easy to justify a $459 overnight bill for that hotel for an audited Government trip.

        • Slippery Pete will be all over this one! Ordinarily he doesn't pick up the tab, but in this case…

  • Decent deal then!

Broden will book 5 separate nights to get 5 tablets :P

Bugger!! I just left a job 2 weeks ago where I travelled to Brisbane very frequently. I spent over 150 nights in Brisbane last year on the company coin. Could have had them foot the bill and walked away with a new tab!!

It's hardly 'free' when there are 2 rates:

Best Available Rate / TRADERS SMART CHOICE
    from AUD 239 per night

    Stay Connected
    from AUD 459 per night

    • The deal is for ppl on business trip "make the most" out of business paid stay. Wonder what managers think after seeing this deal and an employee claim travel exp with "Stay Connected" package…

      • +3

Businesses still need to justify their expenses. $459+ for a night's accommodation in Brisbane is rather expensive.

        • -3

that isnt much to most businesses

        • +2

How do I get your expense account? :o)

    • -1

Stay connected includes internet access etc as well, which would be extra on normal rates too

      • +2

WiFi has been free at all Shangri-La and Traders hotels for well over a year now.
