In a NUT shell, deposit $200 or $1000 and receive free shares $50/$200

Its a 20% or 25% return on investment for 30 days.

This allows buying US shares and AUD shares, i would recommend buying some fractional US shares to fulfil the promotion, as AU Stocks require min $500 invesment for first trade, otherwise you can just convert 20$ AUD to USD and buy $10 USD in shares to meet the requirements.

Thanks, no go for me then

      • +1

In your OP, and Section 1.5, I got the impression existing accounts could do this bonus, but it seems that's not the case? Unless in the unlikely case someone opened an account and didn't deposit any money?

Let me know if I'm missing something, seems like a good deal otherwise.

      • +1

Hi there Silentninja7, I signed up to this offer last time it was posted on here but I haven’t received any “reward”. I deposited $10 AUD on 2/11 & my balance shows $10.02. I contacted customer service but they say I didn’t use a referral code. Are you able to offer any assistance?

        • Did you sign up usiny a referral code from the random list? Or did you click on the webull signup page. Post says use a referral code.

Post had referral link and a link to click

          • @Silentninja7: Tbh.. I can’t really remember 😔

            • @Mary Poppins: Then you must not have, but the post below you got 4 shares, which you might have used a different promo to sitb up, people have different promotions and thats why a screen shot was attached, to ensure the referral link you choose matches, and if it does not click another's

        • +1

          haven't received any "reward"

You posted a screenshot where you received a Welcome Reward of 4 fractional shares…?

          • @wavesgreen: Excuse my ignorance but I really have no idea about how trading shares work. The pic I uploaded means nothing to me and someone (I think it was you) said “oh, only 5 x fractional shares”… I have no idea what this means either 😢

            • @Mary Poppins:

              1. Go to the Webull app
              2. At the bottom click in the icon in the centre which looks like a half-moon
              3. Unlock your trading account
              4. At the top-left, ensure "Assets" is underlined

This should show you what shares have been awarded to you and claimed. Towards the bottom of that screen, see "My Positions".

            • @Mary Poppins: In the previous promotion period the standard sign-up bonus (ie Welcome Reward) was 4 fractional shares. But the deal posted on OzBargain was for 20 fractional shares if you used a referral link.

So it looks like you didn't follow a referral link and only got the standard sign-up bonus.

      • Might be a dumb question, but can I delete my account and just… Sign up again?

WeBull has been pretty good over the last six months.

$200 deposit minimum for this one isnt bad.

    • +4

Put $1000 in webull for 30 days, and after 30 days withdrawal $1200, pretty simple considering people work for $20-$25 an hour, this is 8-10 hours of tax free work for some people without doing any work.

      • Yeah i agree. Some previous ones have been audacious like 100k staying in to get Apple shares.

      • Is it really tax free? When we sell the shares, don't we have to pay tax on the money made?

        • -5

Yep you'd definitely owe tax as soon as you sell the shares

          • +6

@dopfer: Your taxed on the net gain. If you get allocated as share for $200 and sell it for $200 you made a net zero.

            • -6

@Sheng: if you don't pay for the shares your cost base is $0 and you make a capital gain of $200

            • -7

@Sheng: You still have to pay tax on the free money you get though, as you didn't put that money in.

              E.g the $50/$200 promo

              • +1

@buckster: Its a gift. I'll take the minute chance the ATO argues otherwise

              • +3

                @buckster:

When you sell shares that have been gifted to you, you'll use the shares market value on the day that you received them as the first element of your cost base when working out the capital gain or loss.
When you calculate the CGT, you need to work out what you received when you sold the share. Then the cost base of when you were gifted the shares. You'll then subtract the costs (in your case the market value when you were gifted the shares) from what you received.
If you end up with an amount that's more than zero, then you've made a capital gain and you'll need to pay tax on this amount. This will also form part of your assessable income. Less than zero will be a capital loss.

                here

Note the part where it same "more than zero" if you make a net gain or nothing its not taxed. You will not hitting due to the brokerage fee charged…

              • @buckster: Please, please, please, do yourself a favour and pay for a tax accountant to do your tax. :)

                • @basketcase86: Cool, that's good to know.

Haven't cashed any out so appreciate being corrected. Funny how on the linked thread though you have a number of registered accountants giving the advice as being taxable…

Might have to look for a good one then or I'll be paying someone to short change me ;)

                  • +1

@buckster: The ato website will be all you need but don’t short change yourself the government gets far too much already and spend it horribly. Once you’ve done the research then get it done by a professional in person and ask questions. Then you’ll have the knowledge to do it correctly yourself and save more money. Good luck.

Bring back the deposit 1 cent, earn $200 promotion 🤑

  • +2

Only thing I don't like about Webull is that it's next to impossible to change to a new device. The platform doesn't recognise a new device with current login credentials (not referring to desktop browsers).

  • +1

So we get 50/200$ in shares? Might want to edit the title, thought it was money I could just withdraw

    • +1

Well you can, just sell and withdraw :D

  • +3

    Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.
But there's a promo for existing users ..deposit $US 500 equiv make 1 trade and get $120 in vouchers

    • +3

That is only for some users, i have it also. If you have a balance i don't think you get it. My Balance was 0 and i go that offer, my partner is in the thousands and never got it.

      • 0 balance here and didn’t get it unfortunately.

      • I have balance, got the offer

      • Probably, also had zero balance.
Worth a mention as these promos are an added bonus to the sign up campaign.

    • Think it’s targeted, now showing up on my end.

    • Equivalent in AUD meaning depositing $500 AUD qualifies?

      • +1

For the existing user promo - USD equivalent, so AU$750 give or take a few pts.

  • +2

    Targeted

  • Ok deale.

Previous was better… Might wait to see what they offer in January…

    • Previous deal was the same in rewards, $200. This requires higher deposit to hold for 30 days, but that really only effects people who do not have $1000 spare. Last best signup was 1cent for $200, this is $1000 for $200. Same rewards

      • +3

        Yeah.

But it's easier to convince people to sign up for 1 cent vs. $1,000.

  • Stuck on identity verification page….

    • +1

      are you using the app?

      • Thank you, working in the app

    • You can try

    • +3

Don’t proceed further yet, contact their CS

  • +1

Bugger, had 2 referrals but I didn't get any notifications so they expired after 30 days - there goes $240 :(

    • +2

you are the reason we can't have nice things

      • I know 💀😭

  • +1

    Thanks for the alpha

  • Ah not for existing account holders

  • +1

What’s the best process for this one?

    Deposit $1000
    Convert AUD to $10 usd?
Buy cheapest US share you can (MULN?)
Sell the share as soon as you can

Then just wait a month and should receive some shares to then sell and convert back to AUD?

Question: Do I need to deposit more than $1000 to get the reward? As if I convert some of my AUD to usd it may fall below $1000

    • +1

1000 aud should be enough, as it’s specifically said 1000 aud (or equivalent in usd). It doesn’t matter if the value fall afterward

      • Where is the referral link that new users have to use?

        • There is a random referral link at the bottom of the deal post.

  • do we have to deposit 200 and 1000? Can someone pls describe the steps after opening the account

  • Do we need to use someone's referral code? Or does a new account get access to this offer by default?

    • Yes, use the referral link

  • Does it work for people who had a webull and have since cancelled?

  • How do I transfer some of my AUD deposit into USD?

E/ found it under Transfer - Currency exchange

    Bought 1 PayPal at $62US

    • Hi, how did you tranfer within webull from Aud to USD

      • Click the middle button (Webull Trading) -> Transfers -> Currency exchange

        • Got it. Thanks

  • +1

Make sure to sign up with referral codes

  • How long do we have to wait after we open account ?
Also, can we double check if we signed up with referal code?
    Thanks

    • You can fund your account as soon as your account is approved.

I don't think you can double check other than with CS.

  • I made an account and funded it, made a US transaction but now can’t see it under my rewards.

When I go to the “messages area” I can click on 2024 welcome offer from webull promotions but it redirects to my portfolio page

Hopefully I get the the bonus

  • I found this
    1. Mobile app is very spammy - too many irrelevant push notifications so I might miss the important one.
    2. Website is pretty much useless - I am forced to use the app
    3. Despite signing up for a deal where some stock supposed to be awarded 1 month later if I leave money in the account - that never happened and I didn't get anything expect initial allocation.

  • -3

AAPL is pretty much the best stock you can buy anyway. I suggest you use the $2,000 to buy some more AAPL.

  • +1

I got 3 AU stock trading vouchers worth $15 each, so if I buy a AU stock worth $500 (as min purchase for ASX is $500). Can I redeem all 3 vouchers in a single trade or I have to do 3 separate trades to redeem those 3 vouchers?

  • It's definitely good trading platform with your shares remain under your HIN unlike superhero or other brokers not providing HIN.

I have received my free shares as well after signup… !

    • +1

HIN is for ASX securities. If you’re buying Apple then they will be held under a custodial arrangement.

      • that is true but if you are buying ASX securities then HIN is important and those not buying ASX securities might better off living in USA to avoid time difference issue and staying awake all night watching screen .. lol !

        • Why does someone need to stay awake all night watching the screen? Not many day-traders on OzB, I reckon. Might miss out on a few isolated opportunities that can pop up intraday, but that can happen on the ASX too unless you're glued to your screen.

          • +1

@Charlie Dont Surf: that is correct as if you are not day trader then you don't need to stick around watching screen but sure you can time to time miss announcement while sleeping and it could cost seriously to us traders living Australia…. !

however, point here is that webull provide you HIN so your Australian trading is superior compared to other cheap broker like super hero for ASX point of view but the other person who don't have anything to add to Australian stock advantage by trading with webull changed topic by talking about us trading .. !
