In a NUT shell, deposit $200 or $1000 and receive free shares $50/$200

Its a 20% or 25% return on investment for 30 days.

This allows buying US shares and AUD shares, i would recommend buying some fractional US shares to fulfil the promotion, as AU Stocks require min $500 invesment for first trade, otherwise you can just convert 20$ AUD to USD and buy $10 USD in shares to meet the requirements.

  • I have $210.54 in Tesla shares from a previous deal on here, what should I do with them?!

    • You can hold, buy more, or sell. I just sold mine last week.

  • Thinking of signing up with $1000
Not played share market before, Happy to invest that $1000 for a while.

With Webull, is it better to invest in US or AU shares? I know that US has a lower minimum, but if im executing over that, is it better to go AU or US?

    • +1

Same with me. Awaiting for some instructions
      Thanks

    • +1

I would only consider using WeBull for the US market, but that's a reflection of their brokerage costs for US vs Australia compared to others. And, let's face it, the US market is a whole lot more interesting than the ASX, which is dominated by miners and banks.

Obviously, there is another layer of risk investing in the US market, and you're probably sleeping during 80% of their trading day.

    • And another point. I think you choose your market (or markets) first, then your preferred broker (or brokers) second. Not the other way around just because you've picked up some free shares from brokers x, y or z.

      • Fair call, however, stock investion isn't something i know a great deal about. and for $1000, its a limited investment.

Only way you truly learn is by getting your hands dirty.

        • Are you looking to speculate a bit, and move in and out of positions in short timeframes? If so, you want to be minimising your brokerage costs above all else, or you're going to whittle away your gains. If you're more into buy-and-hold, then broker choice is probably less important overall.

FWIW, I use Stake for ASX and Interactive Brokers for international markets. I'm grateful for having picked up free shares on Webull, but it doesn't mean that I feel obligated to use them for anything else.

Never got the 200 from last deal, time waster…

    • +3

Then you did something wrong, you didn’t follow a step or you withdraw money early, everyone else got it, if you didn't follow the steps and didn't message customer service about your issue then dont post telling people it's a waste of time.

      • How would you know if everyone else got it?

        • +1

Because everyone who did it correctly got it.

  • +6

Chinese owned company that data mines you. Just another incredibly obvious honeypot but yall do you.

"Do not mention scam or troll"….excuse me? Who the hell is OP to be making demands of what we can and can't comment?

    • Do you have evidence of that? No one has but many claim it is.

      • +3

Evidence that it's chinese owned? Webull is owned by Hunan Fumi Information Technology, a Chinese holding company that has received backing from Xiaomi, Shunwei Capital, and other private equity investors in China.

If you mean evidence that they hand data to the cpp, then you don't know the first bloody thing about the state and business in China.

        • -3

yeah… well if you release an app to thousands of people, surely someone can see what precious data is being handed to the "Chinese". Someone would be able to detect that probably in a week after the app launched. Guessing as nothing is available on the topic, there is no data other than what you volunteer up. Evidence would be something like a service or code that harvests data, other than what is volunteered.

          • @Cave Fire: The company has the servers, they don't need your app "phoning china", it's sending them the data.

No, it's not a simple thing to reverse engineer a phone app and near on impossible to look at encrypted data transmission. Even some of the worlds most popular apps take ages for this proof to be furnished, but guess what, it's always furnished. Nobody's going to go to the effort for WeBull.

You're also handing over a lot of your data via form at sign up. Oh, and you didn't read the T&C's, did you.

We may allow third parties, such as companies that provide us with analytics tools, to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different apps or web sites when you use our Services.

            • -1

@Ademos: yeah, so in short, you have no evidence. You are just assuming. Then after that, basically every big corporation does the same thing and has the same t's and c's. " Oh, and you didn't read the T&C's, did you." LOL

              • @Cave Fire: Mate if you don't know how the CCP operates with regards to business in China then keep on living in blissful ignorance.

  • +2

I'm not going to be one of the 'scam' people, but is handing your financial information over to China the very best of ideas?

    • But your considering that they dont already have it?

Have you used medibank? Have you used optus? Has your data and information been hacked from any of the other 1000s of conpanies that have had a data breach?

Just be smart online, have multiple bank accounts, one that has 0$ and you transfer for online purchases/ payments and widthdrawls.

      • +3

This comment tacitly admits you are handing your data over to a company that can't be trusted with it. But tries to mitigate it with a "so what".

What a concerning way to view a serious issue. Apologist, one might say.

      • Data breach like Optus might give them email, phone address etc.

Here you're literally giving your banking details and personal info.

If you're stupid enough to reuse banking passwords (lots of people do), you're potentially giving access to other bank accounts too

I'm not saying this is a scam at all, but it's not in the same category as data breach.

      • There's no such thing as perfection in online security but every bit counts.

    • +3

I have noticed many Chinese spam calls since signing up a while back..

  • Do i need to buy $500 worth of AU shares in first transaction to qualify for $50 after signup? I had deposited only $200.
    Can someone suggest

    • No, you can transfer 20 aud to usd and buy 10$ of us shares

      • Thank you. Can I convert the $200 which I had deposited in webull?

    • US securities are valid for the referral, as are partial shares. You can buy a low value us share and sell it immediately to become eligible. Webull also has 24hr markets for select shares so you won't need to stay up until 1am.

  • +1

Is this for existing customers too?

  • Can I place orders using hotkeys?
For example, place a buy and stop loss order in one go. And the amount of shares I buy will depends on the price difference between the current price and stop price by a predetermined Risk amount, says $100.
Eg, current price $100, stop price $95. If I use a hotkey, I can buy 20 shares at $100 and have a stop sell order at $95 for a risk of $100.

  • Numbers in the OP seem a bit confusing to me

You talk about $200/$1000 (except in one spot where you say 2000 or 1000$ which I assume is a typo)

    But the referral requires $2000

So the $200/$1000 won't trigger the referral benefits

It's this right or am I missing something?

    • 2000 is the previous referral. This one only need 1k to cover all requirement

  • -8

This gets spammed on reddit every day. Sick of it even if it's not a scam

    • +1

So why don't you just block the store lol?
I got $1800 for maybe 5 minutes of work

      • Mostly via referrals?

        • Yeah, all referrals

  • +1

I'm also confused by the promo langauge. Do you have to buy shares to get the promo or can you just let the $1k sit in the account for 30 days?

The T&Cs says: Upon completion of all mandatory conditions outlined above, the Participant’s individual Webull Australia account will be awarded 4 Free AAPL Shares each valued at AUD$50.

To me that implies that you would need to meet both The Reward Programme 1 (buying shares) and The Reward Programme 2 ($1000 deposited and held for 30 days)

    Any ideas?

    • Not hard to transfer 20$ aud to USD and buy 10$ auSD of fractional shares

  • Sign up & Fund $200/$1000 AUD into Your Account and Maintain 30 Days, Get $50/$200 AUD AAPL Shares @Webull Australia

The original title by OP misrepresents the condition of the offer.

    • Appoligies however i did include this information in the content body in the terms and conditions

  • way better deal than last time lol

  • So you need to sign up and deposit $200 to get $50, then deposit another $1000 to get $150. You need to deposit a total of $1200 to get the $200 then?

  • +1

Just roughly, there's moomoo (lol), this, blossom, revolut, bitcoin.com.au and independent reserve + few other crypto ones. You can use your bitcoin.com.au referral on independent reserve (same company) to refer yourself (+$20). Told their tech support and they don't care… So that's $150 odd and maybe add Coinbase+ Coinbase wallet for $60 usd of crypto quests a year.

  • so this doesn't stack with the signup bonus?

  • Wait how do I find this promotion on my mobile app? In promotions the only thing i see is the refer friends 50$ and the deposit get used $120 rewards?

    • Not everyone gets the larger deposit bonus promo. I didn't get it this time in my Promotion Center and I didn't get the $5000 one earlier in the year either.

      • Oh but if I still use someone's referral I can get the 200?

        • Referral bonuses are only for new sign-ups.

Also there is no $200 bonus, it's $150.

  • +1

I'm not sure if I followed the steps correctly but this is what I did.

    1. Sign up using the referral link.
    2. Downloaded the app and opened an individual trading account.
    3. Deposited $1001 AUD.
    4. Converted AUD to USD 11.
    5. Bought USD 5 worth of AAPL which I immediately sold.

So now do I just wait for 30 days? There's no indication of whether I will receive the rewards. Under 'My Rewards', there's only the 30 day commission free voucher.

    • Was the referral signup link the same as my screenshot?

      • Most likely your initial trade has not settled? To get the first apple share, and you have to hold 1000 for 30 days to get the other 150

Hopefully someone else can confirm, as i already signed up to a previous promo

        • It was a fractional share so I think it was settled immediately. I was able to sell it as well which I don't think would be possible if the buy transaction hadn't settled.

          • @excusemesir: All share platforms have T+2 for settlement. All Buy orders are considered instant, you don't have to hold them for 2 days before you are 'allowed' to sell them, the stock market wouldn't function if that was the case.

            • @wavesgreen: Sorry to be a pain, but not exactly sure what that means. Does that mean I have executed the transaction properly?

FWIW, the app does say the order was filled for both the buy and sell transaction.

              • +1

@excusemesir: All trades take 2 days to settle but are filled near instantly. Share trading platforms let you continue to trade (ie Buy) but maybe for promotional bonus purposes they wait until the trade is settled before awarding the reward.

                • @wavesgreen: Ok I understand that now. Does that mean I need to buy again? And how would I know when it has been settled?

      • Yes I made sure to check

    • +3

      Update:

I got the USD 33.5 worth of AAPL, but after I reached out via the live chat. Now to wait 30 days for the other reward.

  • How do you redeem the rewards? (Australian Securities Trading Vouchers and US Shares/Options Trading Vouchers). When I click on redeem it says I have no orders an gives me a Trade Now button. But when I click on that button it takes me to the forms for setting up a joint account. Makes no sense…

    • You using the app?

      • Yes, in the app.

        • Go on live chat, they reply instantly, you can ask and they will tell you

    • Have u bought something on the respective product? U need to complete a buy order first to use that voucher. Then u apply the voucher (can only use 1 per order) for then to credit it back to ur acc

      • Thanks. I see how it works now. I bought a ~$10 share. Waited until the order was filled. Then click on the Redeem button and you get $10 back in your account (will be in about 3 weeks).

        • +1

I did the US and the options (if u know how it works), as the fee is low (~50c), the ASX one is a hassle for $15 voucher as the fee is already $5 for buying (and I assume $5 for selling too), unless you still have the 30 days free for new user

          • @hanofee: Yes the US share trading is much cheaper than Australian shares.

    • Top left toggle between individual and joint screens.

    • Hopefully you worked it out but you need to make a buy order first, let it fill then claim the trading voucher on that.

So if you have a $20usd voucher, you need to make a US trade over $20. Once it fulfils go back to trading vouchers, click redeem and it will show you your trade. Click to redeem it on that trade

Got 1 x AAPL share after completion of 1st Task

Got an email today from WeBull that they've introduced 24-hour trading for a selection of 69 stocks (good number!).

Most of the big-cap stocks are there, and a bunch of popular mid-cap ones, plus a range of ETFs.

  • +1

Do I get bonus if I deposit $1000 aud, convert $100 aud to usd to buy 1 paypal

    • Yes you should, that does 1 and 2 if the prom9

      • ok thanks

  • How did everyone go with the 5% reward for 79 days 100k?

    Due new years day!?

    • what's this 5% reward?

        And various similar promotional offers.

        • +1

It was 4.5k apple shares when I participated with 100k deposit. Will update when I receive the free shares. Hope they bring a second round of this promo

          • @WADealsHunter: Hope you also got the 200 signup bonus to make it 4.7k hah

            • @Silentninja7: nah I signed up ages go, but through sign up and referral program probably pocketed another ~$500

          • -1

@WADealsHunter: Have you received your 4.5K AAPL shares yet?

            • @andrewlai: not yet, the T&C say I'll get it before 5th of Jan, so I'm patiently waiting for a few more days before I follow up with them.

            • @andrewlai: Update: 4.5k shares claimed today. Moving my money out to Moomoo 6.8% interest p.a cash account

  • Anyone received AAPL shares from the last promo? The reward was calculated based on balanced held until 31st Dec 2023 last night.

    • +2

Payout date would be in the T&C of the original promo.

There's usually a period of business days before rewards are paid out (most commonly 7) and they are usually linked to NYSE market trading hours.

I certainly wouldn't expect them to have been paid out the day of January 1st in Australia.

  • So have I got this right? I complete this in 2 steps ie fund my account >$200 and complete one transaction for the first $50 then I add and maintain >$1000 for a month to receive the extra $150?

    • i think you can do them combined, but ask and confirm with someone else who signed up, i signed up using a previos promo

      • No-one will be able to fully confirm as the thirty days hasn't passed.

  • Got the $35 US still waiting for the rest .

  • anyone else having issues with verifying your ID? camera keeps saying blur detected

  • I don’t think the referral tracking worked for me. Got the signup page with all the details of the offer and clicked through to sign up, did all the steps but no trace of the promo in my account, nor any action after completing the required trades. Probably an adblocker/pihole issue. Gotta remind myself to turn all that stuff off for these things…

    • Need to use the app

      • applied via webpage and support said all good

      • +1

Checking back in. Got 3 shares after 30 days. Missed out on the first one share because i did a test deposit before the $200 so it didn’t trigger. It’s pretty unclear when they have an existing system to track rewards.

Either way worked out well in the end. Made more from this by putting $1200 into nvidia before it went up 20%.

  • +1

I signed up and deposit 1k aud, still no sign of bonus yet. I’ve converted 1k to usd and placed an order for us shares but not executed yet.

    • I haven't got any sign of the reward "in transit" for my 1k aud deposit too. Does it come up to be claimed on day 30?

I bought $15USD shares and was able to claim the AAPL reward right after though.
