check the "document" tab, it will list the trade date. then google how much the closing/opening price of that stock on that trade date. that is your "purchase price"
when you have "selling price", the diff. is your profit ie capital gain.

      • What if you don't do it? Will the ato auto correct after submission?

Seems silly us talking about this for a few dollars when big business pays sweet f all.

I'm not a financial advisor and don't really know how serious the consequences would actually be. But if you don't do it and they audit you, technically you have knowingly not declared all your taxes so you'd get in trouble accordingly. Whether or not that happens and how serious it would actually be is another question. I'm honestly not sure

        • +2

I can let you know as someone who has been audited. I don't know how much they care if your tax liability is 10k, but I disregarded my gains and i paid like an 80% penalty + shortfall interest charge as well as general interest charge ahah. So up to you

          • @Lit Homie: How much didn't you declare? Disgusting they're going after individuals when big business get off paying nothing.

            • @arcticmonkey: oh like 50k cgt but it was from offshore accounts ahahah, but apparently they can get data from AUSTRAC for money inflows

    • Any tips for how to record this for CGT purposes? How can I work out the exact date and price of the fractional shares received?

Just got my $100 worth of shares.
Has anyone sold theirs yet? Will it take weeks to settle and withdraw? And are their fees reasonable?

    • +3

2 business days to settle, then you can convert to AUD and withdraw. Lands in bank account 2 business days later for me but YMMV.

No fees to speak of, they do take an extra ~1% slice in the forex rate but that's to be expected.

      • Thanks for the info! Much appreciated!

Anyone else waiting for 2nd lot of 10 shares? I contacted help centre and they said they will issue the bonus manually. That is good news but at the same time does everyone need to contact them to get the other half?! That doesn’t seem right either.

    • My 2nd lot of 10 have been stuck in transit for almost a week, they showed up to claim when they should’ve though

      • Most comments above people had received but i hadn't so i reached out to get it sorted manually. Surprisingly, my parents who enrolled after me had theirs issued automatically

Thanks! I just got all my shares, even those expected next week paid out.

Elon is a nut job and these are way.overpriced…. but it's free money so I'll risk it on the chance that in 10 years these are worth 100x 🤣

  • So, I deposited $10 AUD on 9/11 & my balance shows $10.02. Remind me again why I went to all this trouble? Did I miss something?

Just spoke to their live chat regarding when I can claim the remaining 10 shares:

For the extra 10 free shares, you should maintian the funds for 30 days. If you want to participate in, you could maintain your funds till 17/12, then the rewards will be issued within the next 3 business days.

Please kindly note that we verify the net transfer amount (cumulative deposit-cumulative withdraw) during this campaign period. That means the withdrawal request during this period might affect your promotional eligibility.

Yes, the rewards can be claimed after 17/12 if all the requirements are met. The rewards will be hit to your account within 15 business days after you claim it.

  • I am kinda confused how many shares should i be getting. At the moment i got 30. I believe 10 is half of the 20 upon sign up and the other 10 is given after 30 days of holding on to the deposits.

I have additional 20 given as someone used my referral code.

Its more than 30 days and i have not received the remaining 10 shares. Should i be getting 40 shares in total? Cheers

So i got a reply from cs pretty quick. Does it not automatically issued?

      Replied from webull cs

I'll submit the request to issue the bonus for you manually, you may check it in 1-3 business days, thank you.

Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or concerns and I will be happy to address them.

      Sincerely,

      Webull eService Representative

  • Does anyone know what's up with selling the free shares? I put in $1, waited a month, got my free $100(ish) worth of Tesla shares… sold them, and now have $100 in ''cash'' in my app….but I'm only able to withdraw (to my normal Aussie bank account) my original $1, not the $100.

Is this like a betting app where the''bonus bet money'' they give you, you can never actually withdraw, and you just have to use it to make more bets?

    • Ur just too paranoid, mate :). Like every shares broker, the settlement is T+2, meaning you only get the money 2 business days after you sell (and able to withdraw)… it's the same system here for ASX

      • +1

meaning you only get the money 2 business days after you sell (and able to withdraw)

And convert from USD to AUD to withdraw to Australian bank account.

        • Good point, have to do that too. Btw, if we want to earn interest on USD account, do we just activate that Moneybull thing? I just activated but showing 0 for now, can't figure out if they're separate account and we somehow have to move from Cash Management (USD) account to Moneybull?

          • @hanofee: It take a couple days after you activated moneybull to start earning your unused USD

  • I have received the shares, guess we going long on tesla aye

  • If the rewards not claimed within a mount of time, would they expire? It's been two month and I just checked in and there are only $100ish stock there to claim, instead of $200

    • Yes you have to claim them within 30 days.

    • -1

You will need to contact them for the other half of the amount, as i did with mine. Its not automatically issued.

  • Didn't receive my shares. Annoying

    • You’re not the only one! 😫

  • anyone activated moneybull? 5.4% interest on USD balance.
i have like USD6.xx balance cash then activated moneybull but it doesnt convert that USD6 not sure what i missed

    • also another question, anyone can find is there any option/way to automate regular buying of a webull portfolio for example buy $50 each week?

  • Just an FYI for those not aware, WeBull have now announced 24hr trading so no longer waiting/waking to ridiculous times of the day.
