  Any recommendation for a beginner just catch and return for fun? Just hoping to catch something small like bream.

    I would probably recommend something like this rod: BALZER MAGNA Magic Spin 45 2.40m (10-45g) 2-7kg Carbon Spinning Rod (https://adoretackle.com/balzer-magna-magic-spin-45-2-40m-10-…), paired with a BALZER Alegra Air 3400 FD size 4000 Front Drag Spinning Reels (https://adoretackle.com/balzer-alegra-air-3400-fd-size-4000-…).
    They should last you for a while, very light, good for bream and whiting, mullet, even for flatties.

      I got this combination. Shipping took a -little- longer than expected, probably because the shop got ozbargained, but seller was very responsive when messaged.

      StarTrack screwed up the delivery, unfortunately, so the rod came broken. I sms'd / mms'd pics, and seller issued refund - no hassle whatsoever. Got money back next day.

      100% satisfied, would recommend! Too bad they seem to be closing down :(

      P.S. got so scared of broken rods, just got myself an ugly stik (haha). These things seem to be nigh on unbreakable.

    Hi,

    Our brands are all European. DAM has been around from 1875 (one of the oldest in the world). Balzer, Sunset from 1946. Colmic from 1974. The quality is excellent.

    I bought a 4-piece Balzer spin rod for going on 20 years now to use when travelling and still in good condition, I broke one of the sections years ago, sent a message and photo to Balzer who replaced it for free. just had to cover postage and i'm sure it was out of warranty at that stage.
    If i needed a new rod and the Balzer suited my requirements i wouldn't hesitate in buying another.

    For comparison I've got various rods from Daiwa, Shimano, Penn, Shakespeare, Century, Greys, Zziplex, TFO and couple others.
