  • Just signed up and received the card for the previous promo of 110,000 Qantas points. Haven't activated it yet, am I still eligible for this one?

    • no

    • how did you get the points without activating the card and meeting the min spend ?

      • Just received it today, haven't redeemed the bonus points and activated the card. Only to find out there's a better offer. If I activate it now and meet the min spending, which offer will I get?

        • You'll get whatever offer was available when you signed up

  • Is this deal better?
    It has waived annual fee
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/810470

    • You need to have ABN

  • Most of my credit card transactions are direct debits and I don't want to set them up every time I get a new card. How can I meet the minimum spend? Can I just buy $5000 worth of gift cards?

    • +2

Yes works for me when Im short of hitting the spend target
      Discounted coles/woolies cards ftw

    • +1

      Works for me

  • So does anyone work out when is the best time to cancel this card to maximise the benefits? Is it 1year +1 day? Also is there any purchases that can’t be counted towards the 5k spend in first 3 months?
    Thanks

  • Approved within 24 hours including ID verification

    • did ANZ call you?

      • Nah nah, all online mate. ID verification link came a couple hours after I sent them my proof of income

    • How was the ID verification done ?

  • Declined even though I had this credit card 5 years ago and am now on double the income I was on then lol.

Edit: I must have (profanity) up some of the finance #s. Hopefully can just clarify and and move on.

    • +1

That's interesting, did your declared expenses double as well? That $15k limit is heavy as, looks like ANZ would need assurance that you've got heaps of disposable income

      • Declared expenses increased, but didn't double.

I have reached out to ANZ, i suspect I need to lower my other credit cards limits ($15k on Amex, $6k 28 degrees, $6k home loan) before adding more + likely put in a figure suggesting I was using that credit (eg had only a small amount of it left) as opposed to it barely being used.

Thanks OP, applied yesterday and approved today

  • what a painful application process. applied and was asked a bunch of documents. Two phone calls 20mins each to confirm details.
    Finally got approved..

  • How long does it take to get the bonus point? I have met the $5000 spending from the previous promo in my second statement but no bonus point yet

    • 3 months, you can find it on "reward" (online banking) for that month.

      • is that the case even if we meet the min spend requirement within a week after receiving the card ?

        • I saw some comments that they have to wait after the 3rd statement. In terms & conditions, they said so as well.

  • Litterally got approved for the 110k points and $100 back card 30 mins ago then seen this…. ugh

  • Just got a approved.

They were diligent with my payslip, called to question why I took leave.

Strangely, my annual fee is only $370. I'm calling now to make sure I'm calling them now to check I've got the right card & am eligble for the bonus

    • How long did it take from application to approval ?

      • about 4 days

    • +1

      It's $370 + $55 rewards program fee. Total $425

    • They are strict they made me to send my 8 payslips

  • I applied for this one, the approval happened within 3 business days.

Just wondering if the strategy here is actually to cancel before the next annual fee?
Seems like paying $425 ongoing for $1:1pt isn't a very good deal?

I've never had a card before that has such a high annual fee, plus I already have 2 other cards with $0 annual fee and they give me QFF points at the same ratio.

    • Which cards are those?

      • Amex Qantas Discovery (free card) and Bank of Melbourne Amplify Qantas (fee waived)

      • On second thought I might be wrong about the ratio:
        BOM Amplify is 0.5 pt / $1
        Amex Discovery is 0.75 / $1

So yes this one is a 1:1 ratio, it's better. Not sure it's worth the annual fee though for a marginal increase over the Amex card

        • +2

Just think this is as a $175 fee for 100K points.
Whether it's worth or not is up to you.

          • @timhn: yeah that is worth it - what I meant was, is it worth it to carry on and pay the annual fee for the 2nd year?

            • +1
              • @CodeXD: Not worth it to keep any longer because you can sign up for same card 12 months later for a new bonus points.

Edit: my reply intended for eckorock.

ANZ document upload portal does not allow the file to have space character, what a joke!

    • you should just write a script in python that replaces all the spaces in your file system with underscores

  • Damn just cancelled this recently after 13 months..

Scored the 160k points by applying via their customer only deals.

    • +1

where do we find them ?

  • Perhaps NAB offer a decent deal for those of us who cant yet apply for the black due to time restrictions?

90k sign up and an extra 30k if the card is kept over 12 months

    Can't believe I wasn't approved, I earned over $2m last year.

They said that my income from only fans wasn't long term and my beauty won't last forever.

  • Submitted application and uploaded 3 months of payslips proactively. How do they do the ID verification ? Is it via phone ?

    • You have to call them to get it done anytime soon. They'll assess over the phone for you.

      • Thanks mate. Called them and took about 20 mins for them to verify payslips. No ID check done(probably because I was approved for the ANZ Qantas Business Rewards card recently)
Received approved email when I was on call with them. Hoping to receive the card soon. Thanks OP.

    • Via email

  • Question - currently holding an ANZ rewards black visa. Think I’m still eligible for this FF black card offer… is this correct ? Confirmation appreciated. Thanks..

    • +1

Yes, rewards card is different with FF. See T&Cs.

      • Thanks - will cancel the reward visa and jump on this one…

  • Well surprisingly approved.

Need to go into a branch to do ID check tho. Oh wel

    • so you received the approval email which means the card will be sent out but still need a ID check ?

      • +1

Before they send me the card they need to verify my ID in branch. This is why I hate ANZ lol so inefficient.

        • oh surprisingly my wife submitted her application last night and called today for an update, was approved in 10 mins.
Usually she has problems with ID verifications due to middle name but I'm guessing it went through Ok as she received an email stating the application is approved and the card will be sent out.

          • +1

@SydOzber: Never had to go into a branch to verify my ID ..2023 and I gotta deal with this crap lol

  • Got rejected (for the first time ever).. Then got an email saying we might contact you for further info, so I called them and it was approved on the phone.

    • That absolutely makes no sense. Lol

      • That's ANZ for ya ;)

  • Wow they have improved their service, what a surprise. Uploaded my payslips and got called the next day to confirm the pay increase and approved.

  • Looks like the process has been updated so a lot faster.

Downside, they still ask for proof of other income (dividends, savings interest) if you put that as income as well as the usual payslips.

They accepted a screenshot of my tax return dividends though so no need to find and upload all my statements.

  • Is this card or the HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card a better deal for churning points?

  • Any existing customer of ANZ applied for the card? Supposed to be quicker in pre-filling details once logged in for application (and hopefully bypass ID check?) but "something went wrong" once clicked next.

    • Yep regardless of via app or web browser I had to click through and then login again.

No issues after that and no ID verification needed

  • Was rejected for this card and am not applicable for any other anz cards due to insufficient income? I previously held an anz card last year and was on a lower income, same expenditures. Do not understand their criteria.

    • This is the highest tier ANZ card… previously the t&C showed minimum $75k income required.

Generally the Platinum is $30k min, Black $75k min and if there's a higher tier one like Prestige, $120k+

  • Anyone know how long ANZ give you to upload payslips once you have submitted an application, before they close the application and you need to apply again?

I am hoping to apply now but wait until the end of the month for my new payslip from work to be generated, as I took some unpaid leave last month so the net amount paid to my bank account was lower just for that month. Would prefer not to have to explain that to the offshore call centre staff.

    • I thought they needed 3 months worth?

      • I believe they give you 30-45 days until your application is rejected

  • anz member for 13 years, you think they’ll waive me the fee?

    • Are you paying the breakfree package?

    • Let us know if they do - member since 2000.

  • Hi all new to this churning thing. Can I use this card to make payments on my mortgage (HSBC) to reach the 5k spend? Cheers!

    • +1

No. That would be withdraw cash from your credit card as cash advance. You'll hit with interest (which definitely much higher than the morgate rate) from day 1 and also gain zero point.

I'm afraid you are also new to credit card. I suggest you need to know the traps of using credit card before commit into this.

  • Hi I had this ANZ FF Black card and cancelled it on 06 Dec 2022. For a new customer am i already eligible for this as its been more than 12 months (365 days), or since i cancelled in in dec last year do i need to wait till jan (12 x full months) to be counted as a new customer?? Thanks

    • +1

Better ask them on a call. I would even go far as asking for reply in email

      • +1

Called them today. They confirmed im eligible. Apparently works as 12 months = 365 days.

Will apply and hope for the best.

  • Hi, suggestions please - is ZIP best method to pay taxes (ATO) with this card so the payment count towards bonus eligibility spends ?

As per the comments from my search results that seems to be the ony method without incurring additional charges. Can anyone confirm please. Ive so far never used zip. Thanks.

    • +1

Yep, this is what I currently use.

      • Thanks . Will install while i wait for the card to come.

    • +3

Make sure you use zip pay and not zip plus

You cannot pay off Zip Plus with a credit card

      • Thanks for the caution. Will stick to Zip Pay,

      • Opened a zip pay account. Credit limit is $350. Any way to pay a higher amount than that in one go or would I need to make multiple bpay payments? Also for repayment only option provided is to add a DEBIT card. Will a credit card option cover once I have made a payment with zip. Just enquiring for now as I wait for the ANC CC to arrive.. thanks

        • +1

You will need to make multiple payments at the start until zip offers higher credit limit on your account.

I'm not sure about the credit card option as I've already got mine saved to my account. I added it less than 2 months ago and was able to add credit card.

        • +1

I think it says Debit card but you can actually add both debit and credit cards.

  • Got rejected in a day. After all expenses, i pocket 2k a week, and only got a small car loan which is much smaller than savings and assets. No other liability or credit card and over 800 credit score.
I can't figure it out. Used to churn cc all the time when i was much poorer.

  • This is being still listed as active despite the date passing

    • I just applied so still seems active to me?

  • i made the minimum spend within having the card for a week but when my first statement was generated i did not get the bonus points OR the cashback, anyone get the bonus points and cash back after their first statement?

    • that's annoying

    • +1

      What was the spend on?

      • flights and body corp fees. should all count towards min spend criteria.

        • Depends how you paid corp fees, if you used bpay via anz app/website it won't count.

How many points did you get?

1 point per dollar up to 7.5k and 0.5 above that per statement period

          • @CodeXD: i paid using the credit card on the strata pay website directly. i got credited approx 5400 points.

    • My wife and I just buy everything for the house when we have one of these deals.

All groceries, meals uber eats, car service, you name it

Just pump through your entire household expenses for 3 months, everything. We went well over last time.

Even pre bought electricity etc then just unwind it once the points come through.

  • Not sure why but they charged 370 annual fee instead of 425??

    Edit : nvm 370+ 55 reward fee

  • +2

Got my first statement few days ago. No bonus points yet. Charged $425. Received just the base points of 7000
