      • Does paypal meets the criteria? I am paying most of purchases via paypal

        • +2

Yep paypal payment will count towards eligible spend

      • Is that new…

Visa, bpay has always counted for points and intelligible spend

Its the reason I try to alway get visa,

Mastercard is the difficult one, that has a lot of exclusions, bpay, utilties etc

      • Have you tested this?

From my experience with VISA, anything spent including BPay as always been eligible spent despite what it says on the T&C

VISA Bpay also gives points, which I can see on my statement

Signed up for the last deal

Still waiting for the 'Welcome Pack' so I can activate the card.
I've called up 4 times, no one seems to be able to do anything.
They sent me an ANZ Plus Card I never wanted in the meantime.

I can't wait to leave once I get my points, horrible horrible experience.

I just cancelled my ANZ Frequent flyer card last week and called them to ask if they could refund the annual fee. It seems they have refunded the $370 annual fee but not the $55 rewards program fee but I'm just waiting for the final statement to confirm.

    • What did you say to get the refund

      • +5

“Can I please have a refund”

      • Refund, or bikies!

      • I asked if I could get a refund for the annual fee. I was then put on hold for probably half an hour whilst I think they were getting approval.

    • +3

Yes, this was my experience as well.

Cancelled about a month ago and they said they can’t refund the rewards program fee but can refund their annual fee portion.

Took about 15m on the phone to get sorted, was easier than getting the card in the first place.

    • Wha?! They've brought this back?

    • How long does it take to credit the bonus point? I have met the $5000 spending in my second statement but no bonus point yet

      • +1

I reached the spend criteria before my second statement. I also received the $100 back before the second statement which was the indicator for me that I had reached the spend criteria. Have you got the $100 back? Another thing you could do is give them a call to confirm the spend.

        • No I haven’t received the $100 back yet as well, thanks I will give them a ring

    • How long did you hold the card for?

      • Around 1.5 months

        • did you get the sign-up bonus of 100k QFF points?

          • @eckorock: I signed up to the previous deal which was 110k QFF points after $5000 spend which I received before I cancelled the card.

    • Wasn't successful today. Got the same spiel on both live chat and phone (was on the line for an hour) about T&Cs. I have obtained a full refund of the annual fee in the past though.

An annual fee is charged each year on the anniversary of the account being opened, until the account is closed and the balance is paid in full.

Since it is part of the terms and conditions of your card, we are unable to waive the fee, however I can assist you in closing the account.

      • How long did you have the card for?

        • Less than 3 months.

  • +1

Wow, deals are getting worse and worse. A year and a half ago this one used to be 160k qantas points straight up (if you click through their app) - no 12 month hold conditions.

  • They knocked me back for some reason on a lower tier card, would apply for this otherwise but ANZ seem to be really strict at the moment

  • hey thanks for the post, where can i locate the $250 cashback offer?

  • -5

applied but why do they want 3 months of payslips?!? :/

You're either a trolling genius, or incredibly dense. This comment is so exquisitely crafted that I can't tell.

    • Because their rules

  • +1

Do i keep my Qantas Amex or move to this? having a $450 travel credit with amex is so hard to let go.
Or maybe i get the ANZ for the 100km points and keep the amex

    • +5

keep the amex and churn this card.
amex is the best card to keep imo

  • The travel insurance with this card is very good. Travel once using their complementary travel insurance and you'll pay back the annual fee and more. Very worth it.

    • +2

normally most credit cards sometimes have this included nowadays? i have that top cba card and it comes with insurance for free even if i didn't buy it with the cbacard, i just need to let cba know of my travel plans then get free travel insurance.

      • Agree. Commbank Ultimate Rewards card is a high-tier card. Free insurance (no spend obligation), no overseas tranx charges, decent points earn rates. Has access to 2x generic lounges, which is nice. But what makes it lose its shine is the fact it changed its minimum monthly spend from 1.5k to 4k. At that spend rate, I'd rather go AMEX. It's a shame, really. I would have kept the card and continued churning through other cards, but 4k spend kills it, so I'm churning away once I come back from my holiday.

        • yeah, would have been an epic card if they hadn't changed it to $4000.

        • really i didn't know about the generic lounges but i get this card free coz cba staff member but yeah i heard from a mate the min spend increased to 4k which i think is a bit unfair. if i wasn't a staff member i probably wouldn't have this card coz 4k is a bit too much every month. i'm sure its doable but its just trying to spend to make the 4k min each month that makes it a bit annoying

        • wait Ultimate Rewards has access to lounges???

          • @sauce2k: Dragon pass. I used in Geneva. Was great. All free.

            • @Ozbargainasaurus: Wow I didn’t know wtf haha can we use it at sydney int airport?

              • @sauce2k: 3 of them in terminal 1. You need to activate your card first on dragon pass website.

                • @Ozbargainasaurus: Ok thanks. Been holding the card for ages and has no idea

                  • @sauce2k: For Commbank, you need to use the Mastercard Travelpass app. Signup and you can see which lounges available at airport.

    • are there any conditions on the ANZ card travel insurance?

      • +2

It could possibly be in the anz travel insurance terms and conditions document but can't tell from the name of the document

  • Does anyone know do they consider cash in your offset as an assest when considering approval?

    • My comment is not specific to ANZ, but from my cc churning experience, not really. As far as loans/offset is concerned, they treat cash as disposable in that you could blow it all at any time and instead look at the collective size of your loan(s).

      • Not quite. They're most interested in your liabilities versus your income. As long as you have the capacity (i.e. income) to service all your liabilities (i.e. repayments, cost of living, etc), including the credit amount you're requesting from them, then you're good.

      • after closed the card, how long do you wait to apply for a new one?

    • They have zero interest in your assets.

  • +1

    good luck to getting approved.

    • I must be an outlier. I applied last night and was approved today, after receiving a quick call to confirm my details.

    • I've never get rejection from ANZ cc. Usually approved within 2-3 days - applied twice with them each year (Platinium & FF) since 2018. Few times they called to do validation and that was it.

      • +1

if you go through this thread you will know you are that 1% of applicants got approved.

Most of us got rejected even with $150k more income and minimum debt.

  • applied last week with the old offer, still waiting for their approval so today I withdrew my application and will try again with this new offer next week. Hope that works haha

      Double credit hit

      • don't think it matters that much, all everyone cares about these days is how much earning and liabilities

  • This or Westbank?

    • what's Westbank?

      • +5

I guess he doesn't want to apply with Gaza.

        • Oofth

        • Epic lol

  • Those that got approved. What docs did they require you to send in?

    • +2

ANZ was a freakin nightmare, they didn't accept.
I had to go into the bank, the bank scammed them and they complained again!

I called up, and they just approved it.

Worse bank I've personally applied for a CC, NAB is the easiest.

      Thanks for letting us know

      • -3

        lol no worries

  • anyone know when this deal expires?

    • ANZ normally don't disclose the end date so can terminate any time up to them. I would guess at least 2-3 months.

  • Where do I find the list of eligible purchases?

  • hi all, this is my first foray into the world of point hacking. would you guys recommend this or the qantas amex offering? thx

  • declined in 0.5 second, lol

I've never been successful with any ANZ credit card..

  • -3

Much prefer my Cro Visa card. No fees and instant 1% back on all purchases paid back in Cro. Higher rewards if you can afford the higher staking tiers.

  • Wouldnt this deal be better with Westpac? Overall I worked out it would cost $140 more in annual fees for the 2 years but you get an extra 20,000 bonus points. Unfortunately its only 0.75 points per dollar spent, but with the 20,000 points you get may work out better?

    https://www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/credit-cards/rew…

    • +2

No one is getting these cards and staying with them for 2 years.

      • +1

You only need to be with them for 1 year & a day really for the additional 30,000 points though - basically pay for the second year. Otherwise its just the 120,000 bonus points after mid spend of $6k within first 120 days.

Still trying to work out best way to go, is it really just no worrying about the bonuses then cancelled the card after you get the originall 100,000-120,000 bonus in the first 3-4 months after min spend reached?

        • +3

You only need to be with them for 1 year & a day

You'll also be paying for 2 years worth of annual fee.

If you were to make the spend and cancel, then 12 months from when you close it off you can get another 100k QFF points for the same annual fee cost.

  • +1

I've been holding out for a decent Amex card, any good ones with solid bonus points at the moment?

    • Also looking at this at the moment. 50'000 points for a American Express Explorer card 4k spend in 3 months and $395 annual fee.

      • Ah not amazing!

    • +1

Amex qantas ultimate was ok until the promo ended a couple weeks ago.
$450 fee becomes $450 qantas credit.
      4x lounge passes.
      Referral bonuses.
3k spend to get 75k qantas but now back to 60k

      Times are tough

  • I can't recall when I closed our last one!

    • If you're OK to sign up to credit score services like Credit Savvy, they should be able to show approximately what month your credit card accounts were closed. I wouldn't be surprised if banks/financial institutions were also OK to provide this kind of info, whether via phone or in the form of a formal letter confirming account closure.

    • check your emails, you will receive one closure email usually

      • Found it - I'm just in time.

    • Check your emails for the closure confirmation and start tracking on a google doc or on rwrds.com.au

      • Is RWRDS out of date? I checked that yesterday or day before, was surprised to not see this card on there?

  • Can you use this card for the Qantas lounge even without the Qantas boarding pass.. ?

    • +2

Need to fly with Qantas or Jetstar

      • And need to link them to your ticket at least 24hrs before you fly

        • I was able to link in the lounge too

        • How do you do this?

        • when does the lounge passes usually become available after getting the card?

          • +1

@plal: You need to call ANZ concierge on 1300 580 765 to receive them
