How much are the points worth?

    • +4

Depends on what you used it for
I normally valued 1c /pt, so $1000 in this case
But it value more for reward flights (and even more for upgrades / business class)
and value less for giftcards etc

    • +3

You can get an economy return flight to LA for under 100,000 points for classic rewards seats.

      • +8

        Plus taxes…

      • +3

Yup did the same earlier this year.. It was 81k points + $340.

Thank god for that too cause all similar flights were between 1.7k-3k at the time.. booked about 4 months in adv.

        • how you are able to find classic rewards seats that far ahead? I can only see flights as far as 30 days or so.

          • +1

@si3iid: I've booked international flights with points 3 times now.. never really had issues finding seats, I book well in adv so I could be quite flexible with dates.

Though mind you, I always depart end of week (Fri/Sat) and return on the weekend too.. Maybe I just got lucky?

Latest time was to Asia for 42k points and $240, insane value imo. I know people always say to use it for upgrades but I aint that fancy.

edit: also booked about 3-4 months in adv for Asia trip.

  • Great offer…I applied for it couple of days ago but it didn’t go through till the end where do a credit check…
Got an email the next day -
Thank you for your recent ANZ GoBiz application. On this occasion, you’re ineligible to apply via ANZ GoBiz. You can review our eligibility criteria.

I met their eligibility criteria as listed on that page but still no luck…YMMV…

    • Did it have a painful application process? It’s been awhile since I’ve applied

      • No the app process is one of the best in the mkt…really liked the GUI….it quickly syncs to Xero as well (3 options from memory)…

    • What's the eligibility criteria? Couldnt find it on that site. I have never been approved of an ANZ card previously (probably because I already have one).

      • there are 2 ways to apply for this card - one is via their gobiz and other is via phone, I went with gobiz as I met the following -
GoBiz is suitable if your business:
Uses Xero, MYOB or Intuit QuickBooks
Has at least 12 months of reconciled financial data in AUD
Has operated under the current ABN/ACN for 12 months
Has been GST registered if annual turnover is $75,000 or more
Has an annual turnover not exceeding $10m
Is a sole trader, a company or a partnership
Is a fixed unit or discretionary trading trust with a corporate trustee
Has up to five directors or partners

GoBiz is not suitable if your business:
        Is a franchise
Is a partnership with a company as a partner
Has had a company director join or leave within the last 6 months
Has sold 25% or more of its shares in the last 6 months

        • I wonder what makes a franchise to be unsuitable. The franchise I’ve owned has been far more stable and what I would consider less risky to a lender than the non-franchise businesses I’ve been involved in

          • +1

@BLB1984: I don't think they are saying no to Franchise business. If you are a franchise business then they want you to call them or reach out to your existing RM for getting this card.

Isn’t this deal always on? I swear I’ve seen it so many times now

I dont know if the application is the same, but I've tried applying for a cc with anz bank 2 months ago. Still waiting for it to be approved.

It asks for documentation which I send in, but then if they need to talk to you they'll call you and ask you to identify yourself which is a security red flag for me. There's no way around this, no phone number for you to call back. When I tried, the only option is they tell you the credit team to call you back. Even after giving your preferences for when the bank can call you again, it takes weeks!!

Overseas help desk, no way to call back, slow and long processes…. Terrible application process.

    • +2

similar experience, 2 month wait and going around in circles with documents… it's not rocket science!

I gave up and withdrew my application last week, loaded a complaint which was also dismissed.

Wouldnt touch ANZ with a 10 meter poll. especially for credit cards as it's the only big 4 bank who application centre is offshore

    • Had a similar experience. Nightmare customer service. Made us resubmit our pay slips on 3 occasions. Mind you joint we earn over 250k. Cancelled application and got automatically approved by Westpac is an hour

    • Similar experience…..it took them a week after submitting the application before they sent an email asking for more documentation, which I promptly sent.

Another week later, I rang to ask for an update. Nothing had happened. So I withdrew the application right then and there. I only applied for the minimum amount which was 15k. I have great credit score and I earn more than enough to pay the minimum amount several times over.

I applied to NAB on the same day and within a day, my application was approved and within a week, I received my card. So my conclusion is ANZ customer service sucks.

Am I eligible if I hold personal FF black card for ANZ?

    • +1

      I'm also curious about this

  • Can I transfer all 100k points from my Qantas Business Account to my Qantas Frequent Flyer account once they are credited?

  • Do you have to provide your ABN and your business income proof?

    • yes

  • +13

ANZ has one of the worst credit check process and application process as well. Never again

    • +1

Agree bloody hell how many documents do they need.

      • so sht lol

        • Im going through it now, theyve required bloody documents to prove my higher duties. Told them it was only a month its not permanent yet they require documents?? frustrating

    • +1

been going back and forth with the documentation. their application review process is terrible too

    • +1

I've had the least amount of issues with them, just one time when they sent it to India and it was delayed a few weeks.
Every time since then it's been instant. Have held something like 12 cards with them.

    • Yeah I've never been approved before. Not gonna waste my time with them again.

    • +1

better than CBA… i never get approval with them

  • -2

Good luck getting a credit card these days

  • Great offer!

Quick question - I've been contracting under my ABN since Feb 2023, can I still apply if I haven't had my ABN for 12-months? I was successful with getting the AMEX Velocity Business card after 2-3 months from establishing an ABN, but uncessful applying for a non-business card recently.

    • +3

All I can say Amex is the easiest….

      • Yep. Sure are. But damn them and their 18-month reapply policy.

        • Do you have to be gst registered for Amex business card?

  • -3

    6k spend! rich ppl

    • +3

Thats $2k every month… to reach the 6k over 3 months

This is a Business Credit Card, not a consumer card

    • +3

      Almost my grocery bill!

  • +3

In my personal opinion, if you can handle using a Charge Card and not a Credit Card. The Amex Qantas Business Rewards Card is a far solid platform if you want to use the card in the long term. And far more upgrade options. If you also hit spending in the correct categories you can get some pretty insane offers for the Amex Platinum Business Card - generally you can find emails in your work email for up to 500k with 10k spend over 3 months, and options down the line for the Centurion Business Card which comes with Emirates Gold Status and Qantas Club membership for Australian cardholders.

    • "Amex Platinum Business Card - generally you can find emails in your work email for up to 500k with 10k spend over 3 months" - Really? Is that to current platinum holders or new?

      • High spending charge cards and meets certain financial criteria and in certain sectors such as travel ect

        • ah okay, our spend is high 5 figures but we have qantas and never once received an offer like that.. but can understand there are people spending 5 figs on google ads a day :P

    • it was hard to find value when paying AF of $1750. Personal plat is tad better in AUS.
you can expense the Plat Biz AF to your business but I still didn't find value in Biz plat apart from the SUB and half year AF in the 1st year (when I got the card). YMMV.

  • Business cards getting all the decent deals right now.

    • Not really, outside of Amex its just this. Within Amex you have got the Platinum which is 200k MRs, Qantas Business is 100k QFFs, Velocity Platinum is 150k Velocity and the Explorer which is 75k MRs.

      • Yeah the AMEX is what i would be alluding to.

        • Unfortunately Amex wouldn’t award points to business cards if you already have a personal card with them

    • WPC and CBA have withdrawn offers on their biz card.
I got WPC biz start of this year. 120k Qantas point which seems to be withdrawn now.
Then recently got NAB Biz 100k points for 295 AF.

  • Is this card available for sole traders? I applied for a previous ANZ business credit card deal, and was rejected for that reason.

    • Would like to know answer to this question as well. Anyone?

  • Note: ANZ are bastards for business owners.

If you haven't done your 2022-2023 return, don't bother applying.

  • Avoid ANZ their credit check process is awful

  • Just don’t do it ! The worst customer service - they take forever to get ba l to you - expect documents after documents and then … can’t figure out that your have enough to support the credit.

    Don’t

  • Yer agree with the comments. ANZ are very very hard to get credit cards over the line.

  • Just cancelled it and churning to NAB but would say non of the business card application are easy…

  • Is there a way to artificially create spend? I want the card but don't spend anywhere near that every month (and buying random shit for the points is stupid)

    • pay your familys bills and get them to give you cash?

    • +1

Not this card but can’t see why it wouldn’t work - I bought Woolworths gift cards last time I needed to hit a spend limit. I think I bought $3500 worth so not a small amount and just then used it to buy my groceries over the next however many months it took - I figured it was a cost I’d incur anyway so better than buying random stuff just to meet spend goal

      • Yeah this is smart - I guess if you also bought gift cards on special like 5% off or something it would be worthwhile as well

  • I've been operating as a company for 4+ years now with turnover and profit increasing every year. I've never had a credit card (or any line of credit) in the business name. I do churn credit cards personally, though and have never been knocked back except for once, with ANZ!

If applying for this business card as my company, does my personal credit file come into play during the application process?

    • Not from my understanding. Needs to be a proper business card - NAB, Westpac, ANZ have these cards. Business liability. The Amex ones are all based on personal liability.

      • Thanks, that makes sense. I've been approved for personal AMEXs in the past so might try my luck with a business AMEX once my 18 month cooling off period is up

    • No they will ask for documents for your business. They will reject you if you haven't done your 2022-2023 return and you will need to send them your business P/L alongside tax return

  • -1

I'm guessing if you're a PAYG person trying to churn up some points then I'll just get rejected?

  • Looks like the offer is until Next year?

Offer applies to customers who apply for and are approved for an ANZ Qantas Business Rewards card by 30 September 2024 and spend on their new ANZ Qantas Business Rewards card, have an active Qantas Business Rewards membership and earn Qantas Points in their Qantas Business Rewards member account from this spend by 30 November 2024. Offer period may be extended subject to ANZ's discretion.

Noticed if you have Xero, QBO or MYOB you can apply via Gobiz — this would make the application super simple compared to submitting tax returns manually etc etc for their personal cards!

  • Can independent contractors qualify for business cards?

  • good luck if anyone of you got approved.

ANZ credit card is notoriously impossible to get approval.

  • Does this have and effect on your credit score if you don’t get approved?

    • keen to know. I think it will record in the history

    • It goes to your business's credit file…

      • Do you know if there’s a way to access(like credit savvy for personal users)

        • I haven't signed up for one yet but got 3 biz (Amx, WPC, NAB) cards so far with only Amex showing on my personal file -
Per Canstar's article you may access your biz's credit history via -

Dun & Bradstreet offer a free limited access to key business credit information, or a paid monthly subscription for access to additional information and services.
Experian will allow you to purchase a copy of your business credit report, and offer additional services for a yearly subscription fee.
Equifax offer paid access to your business credit report.

  • +1

Can I get this offer if I already have an ANZ card?

    I doubt it but 😭

    • I asked the same question earlier. I read T&C but couldn't find anything about having personal ANZ card. I presume it's okay but not 100% sure. Would be good if anyone confirms haha

      • Technically business and an individual are different legal entities…your biz is identified via ABN/ACN as long as you have that you should be fine to apply…

        • Then how does credit check work then? Don't they look at the ABN revenue history? If you just open an ABN today and apply wouldn't your chance be a lot lower given you haven't generated revenue at all?

          • @Mr Joker: I listed some of the requirements above -
Uses Xero, MYOB or Intuit QuickBooks
Has at least 12 months of reconciled financial data in AUD
Has operated under the current ABN/ACN for 12 months
Has been GST registered if annual turnover is $75,000 or more
Has an annual turnover not exceeding $10m
Is a sole trader, a company or a partnership
Is a fixed unit or discretionary trading trust with a corporate trustee
Has up to five directors or partners

            • @maverick1: Biz cards are not for everyone and they are not as easy as getting personal cards…you need to supply lot of documentation like BS, PL report, Tax returns, transaction listing of your company's income tax a/c and bas a/c…etc…Your accountant can help you with all that if you think its worth the effort…I'm a DIY person in this case..so its easy for me…

              • @maverick1: Thanks for this info! Only really makes sense if you already have an ABN and operating for at least a year to show BS + cashflows

                • @Mr Joker: exactly! they say one year…but they usually prefer 2 years…

  • Hi Guys, I wonder if anyone knows the minimum taxable income required pls?
What would ANZ generally require after applicatio pls. Thank you.

  • Ohhh Jeezzz,, shit.. I wish I had read everyone's input first before applying :( sounds like ANZ verification and approval process is tough :( Well through GoBiz it did approve my application based on the credit limit I requested, however, it will further do checks , so lets see if I really get the credit card in the mail.

If I do, what will be the best use of 100k Qantas points ? any recommendations ?

  • Does anyone know of a business card that doesn't incur a foreign currency conversion fee?

  • Went through their small business phone line. Contacted on 01/11 and finally after multiple back and forth on the documentation the application has been sent for assessment today

    • What documents did they ask for?

      • Latest BAS from ATO
Last 12 months BAS account activity statements from ATO
Last 12 months Income tax account activity statements from ATO

And then there are 2 ANZ forms - credit application and credit authority forms which are to be filled and signed.

There were no instructions if all directors have to sign etc so the forms looked very simple but the staff made them very complicated by rejecting and asking to re-submit numerous times

    • Sole trader?

      • No - Company

  • Just got approval notification for this one. As per what @spk said, process was very straightforward. Much easier than the ANZ personal cards! Contrary to what @manara2323 said, 2022-2023 company tax return was not required. Indeed no returns were required, just the BAS and ATO account activity PDFs.

    • Great!Did you apply via the weblink or phone call?
Do you have an existing biz relationship with ANZ? I just opened a biz tran account and will try again in couple of days…

      • +1

        Callback.
        No, no existing business relationship.

    • When was your application submitted for approval and how long did it take for you to get the outcome ?

I contacted them first on 1 Nov and after multiple back and forth on the paperwork it was finally submitted for assessment on 10 Nov
