+1, just installed one at my new place yesterday, works great!
Works with Home Assistant?
I recently installed one of these: https://www.athom.tech/blank-1/garage-door-opener-for-esphom…
Pops up in Home Assistant immediately.
I just ordered one of these, always better to have local support..
Good choice,
fyi, HomeKit is local and has direct integration with Home Assistant.
One of my two openers failed just shy of 2 years, worked flawlessly during that time though so for $50 I just bought another one when I got a sale email from them today, recommend.
Ours works well, very happy.
So the sensor for this is wired? Is that fiddly to setup? I have iSmartgate currently, but thinking of moving as the sensor has a massive battery drain problem and it uses weird sized batteries that are hard to get and expensive.
Yes it's wired, it's on a very long cable if your control unit is "far" from the wall the door is on itself. Not overly fiddly.
It is a little fiddly. The double sided tape for the sensor wasn't that strong and fell off after a while. I think I used a bit of liquid nails to fasten it and it was all good.
Also the cable for the sensor, I ran it along the chain rail on the roof for the garage sensor, and just tucked it in between the rail and the roof gyprock but over time it just tended to fall out. I ended up drilling a few small holes through the sheet metal to cable tie the cable in place
It was a bit of work and a bit of trial and error but now it's permanently fixed and I don't have to worry about it
Bought one a few days ago. $90. Just completed the return. :) Had to pay $7 postage but still in front.
You can also setup with an iPad (certain models) instead of the HomePod or Apple TV but the iPad has to be at home all the time
Pretty sure that’s no longer the case with the new HomeKit architecture Apple rolled out.
I just setup my new HomePod yesterday and going through installation notes from Apple it says you can. The new architecture is an upgrade to the home app but apparently you can still use the old system with iPad
Off topic, but does anyone know of a smart 3x switch that still has physical switches and not the touch buttons? My bathroom has a light, heater and fan and I’m trying to find something to make it smart.
Does this work with Amazon Alexa?
Nevermind, reading is hard.
"Compatible with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings"
I want the one that supports 3 doors and has an external antenna, but the Australian store doesn't stock it atm. Anyone know if its been listed on the store before? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/764835
Why not like buy it from AliExpress using the link that that previous deal?
coz it's showing as $118AUD currently, vs $91on Amazon but from the US.
I have 2 Merlin doors
I understand this will be able to replace the remotes in our cars and our phones can replace the remotes.
I also have buttons on the wall as well. Will these wall buttons still operate the doors with this installed?
I have a wall mount button. Still works
Thanks
Essentially they are wall mount remotes as they are not hardwired.
Coud you fit this to an electronic gate?
Does the Stoddart T 950 work with this? Anyone has it? Couldn't find any guides or references online
Love our one, recommend it to anyone.
