I have the single door version, triple door version such a good deal. Have installed for a friend.

This only comes with sensor cables for 2 doors, if you have a third door you'll need to buy an extra set of cables.

  • I have this and after about a year, it's going strong. Thoroughly recommend it for smart home enthusiasts and for those who don't want to pay an arm and a leg for extra fobs.

I haven't got experience with the MSG100 to compare it to because I would presume this model's wifi is better with a stronger antenna.

    • I have both, the msg100 struggles with my asus router and drops out or says connected but doesnt respond. Ive had to add a cheap wireless mesh router and bind it to that one and it works flawlessly. Just hates my ax86u

I really hate the Sensor thing and I literally have no good place to put it . Why can’t the app just automatically set Open to close and close to open..

yeah this is what annoys me about it as well as I can't be bothered to run the sensor.

Hence my meross unit is just collecting dust atm lol.

    • Yeah i'm with you. i've tried so many different places and its just a pain. Otherwise the product is great.

Can't set it automatically because most modern motors have a safety mechanism :

      Example :
      - The garage door starts in the OPEN position
      - I press CLOSE
      - as the door is closing, it hits an obstruction (like the car bonnet or a kid's head) and it retracts back to the OPEN position for safety.

You could also set up Apple homekit to use the words "Trigger garage door" (or any phrase really) to open / close the garage door for both functions.

As an handyman, I've set up a bracket on top of the housing where the belt is cased in, and the magnet is stuck on the door arm. It works well. I've also managed to install it on the underside of the housing as well (a bit more fiddly). I don't install it on the side of the door itself.

Why not attach it to the centre rail beam where the belt runs. I connect the sensor to the position when the doors are closed. Just used double sided tape. Works well

      • That's what I do as per the above

        • Yep same

    • If your garage is a sectional, this kit has a wireless door sensor. I have one installed and works fine. https://www.harveynorman.com.au/connect-smart-garage-door-op…

I'd give this product a 8/10. I have been using it with a google pixel 7 for over 14 months.
Works well, but the one issue I always have with it is that I have to wait 10-15s for the app to update to show the actual state of a door. E.g. I am driving home and get to my garage door - I can see the door is shut - I open the app - the app shows the door as open (when it is not)… I have to refresh the app, and wait 10-15s for it to show that the door is shut - and then can I open the door using the app.

    • I have mine auto open through samsung smart things when im 100m from home

    • This is an internet wifi latency issue.

I found Meross is internet latency hungry and if it doesn’t have access to fast internet, the door status or door trigger is laggy.

A bit of background, I had over 40 devices (mostly smart devices) on the wifi network and since adding another wifi network then splitting the load on both, Meross has been functioning flawlessly since.
