Spotify Premium: 18 Months Individual, 243 days Duo or 206 Days (~7 Months) Family ~A$47.81 @ Spotify Egypt (VPN Required)

3110

This deal is similar to my post last year, but results in a cheaper outcome: circa A$2.66 per month for Individual or A$1.18/month per person if you have a full Family group of six people.

What you will need before starting

  1. VPN with Egypt Server: ExpressVPN, CyberGhost or Surfshark (or another if I am not aware). CyberGhost has a 7-day free trial.
  2. New or lapsed existing Spotify account (can be Australian)

Step 1: Cancel your existing premium subscription to Spotify and wait for the current billing period to end, or create a free account if you don't have one

Edit for step 2 below: users have reported that they have only been able to redeem one gift card (some have said the 12 month has worked but not the 6 month, or vice versa. Note: I have removed specific links from this step because users have reported issues redeeming these gift cards.

Solutions found by other users:
1. Users have reported that the below method works for Spotify India instead
2. If you have already purchased a code which is not working, contact live chat
3. Purchase 3 x 6 month codes instead

Step 2: Purchase 1 x 12 Month Egypt Spotify Premium Gift Card] and 1 x from G2A (alternatively, 3 x 6 months) or another site with Egyptian Spotify gift card. Note: Price quoted in title is based on current total price of the two gift cards linked here, however the price may vary depending on where you purchase it.

Step 3: Turn on your VPN and set location to Egypt. Note: Many VPN providers do not have an Egyptian server.

Step 4: While VPN is activated, go to your 'account' here and click 'Edit Profile', an option to set your country to 'Egypt' should appear (this option is greyed out if you have still have an active premium subscription). If it does not appear, check your VPN is activated correctly. Save your changes. This will now let you redeem Egyptian gift cards.

Step 5: Click Redeem and paste your gift card codes that you previously purchased in Step 2. You will see that the confirmation message will mention '12 Months Premium' and '6 Months Premium' being redeemed. Once you have redeemed both codes, here you will see EGP 499 and EGP 300 respectively in your order history. If you attempt to redeem more than 18 months, you will get an error stating that you cannot redeem more than 18 months of premium in advance.

Note: Stop here if you wish to keep your account as an Individual account. If you wish to convert your 18 Months Premium to 243 days of Duo or 206 days of Family, continue to Step 6. If you stop here your account will remain an "Egyptian" account. Please note, if you do not continue to step 9, this will mean video podcasts will not work on your account.

Step 6: Go to "Account Overview" and click on "Your Plan". Now click "Subscribe" at the bottom. You will now see "Your Plan" with EGP49.99 / month and the next billing date will be 18 months from now. Beneath the summary, you'll see a payment gateway show up with some Egyptian payment options. Look beneath them and you will see "Change country" in the footer. Click on it and select Australia. You will now see $12.99 per month and the next billing date has been reduced to ~12 months from now. This is due to some sort of conversion rate between countries. Do not proceed yet.

Step 7: At the top, click "Change Plan". On the next page, click on Premium Duo or Premium Family. Confirm that the new billing date is approximately 243 days from now (for duo) or 7 months (206 days) for Family.

Step 8: Choose PayPal as the payment method and follow the prompts to finalise. Your PayPal won't be charged until the date stated in the summary.

Step 9: After confirming, your account will be Australian, so choose your normal Australian address for the Premium Duo/Family as you normally would, and tell your "family" members to enter the same address.

Egypt keys are back in stock but prices have gone up like crazy.

    • 6 months: $46.09
    • 12 months: $112.74

Cheapest way to get 18 months seems to be to 3x 6 months for Brazil now, see my comment above.

  • Stopped to work. :(
I'm trying to remake the trick but no working anymore.
Stopped to Step 7, Paypal is not allowed anymore

    any idea?

Just did ~9 months of family premium for ~$90 AU using 3x6months Brazil cards from G2A. Not as good as OP but still beter than AU family plan

    • are you sure it worked out to be 9 months, see below i only got 7 months worth

  • What VPN works best for Brazil when redeeming gift cards, or what have you been using?

    • NordVPN worked for me

  • i just did the brazil route..paid 3 x 6 months cards which worked out to be $94
when i changed to family premium i only got 7 months worth..which is still $13.42 per month
i feel like i got ripped off lol

paid from 7/10/24 to 4/5/25 which is 210 days

EDIT..i just looked in the purchase history and apparently i only used 2 out of the 3 GA coupons lol
anyone know how i can apply them now or do i wait until it runs out again and start the process again?

    • You need to wait until it expires before doing the process again since you already converted to AU.
$13.42 per month is still like nearly half the Australian price though

Update on state of play with this deal:

Been tracking the 6 and 12 month (Egypt and India) plans on g2a and eneba for the last week and out of stock. Cheapest currently is on eneba at AUD$27.36 for 6 months (Brazil) then plus about $3.xx for the fee (worked out to be about 10%). So about $30.xx.

I bought 1 (to try first and then 2 since it was successful). All up probably costed me $91-92 for 3. Went through cash rewards for 3.2% cash back.

Used NordVPN (signed up when it was 95% cash back via cash rewards also).

I took a photo of my order number and the codes just in case.

Changed to Duo and surprise surprise… Expiry date 2/9/2025 (328 days / 11 months).

Was feeling a bit ripped off given i paid like $5x 8 months ago doing the same thing (India) as it seems prices have skyrocketed.

But still now i'm only paying $8.50pm for duo…that's a big win in my books!

Thanks so much @siberry! Saved $128!!!

A bit late now but FYI there are always discount codes for Eneba here: https://gg.deals/vouchers/eneba (5% for Gift Cards/Subs)
Doesn't work with Cashrewards but still comes out a bit better. Also make sure to switch the Site & Paypal currency to Euro, it reduces the service fee slightly for some reason.

      • Ah! some pro tips for next time! cheers.

      • Got a code form there, "started 2 mins ago, ends in 3 hours" but on Eneba it's expired

        • Yeh they haven't been working lately for some reason

  • My Spotify (previously using the Philippines trick, just got changed to the free version. Still took my monthly subscription tho. Anyone else having that issue?

    • Yeah but for $6 too much work for a refund

    • It was automatically refunded for me when it switched to the free version.

    • +1

Yup my Turkey account just became free as well. They obviously cracked on to it. I was on auto renew and now its gone and I was refunded for the month.

      • When you say your Turkey account (and chumpmaster's Phillo acocunt), do you mean you didn't change it back to Australia? Or you did change back but used Spotify codes from Phillo and Turkey?

  • I'm fed up with missing content on Turkish Spotify, so will be giving this a go on the weekend.

Does anyone have any comment on the Philippines catalogue vs AU?

    • Went with 3x Brazil 6-month on Eneba & used NordVPN.

Pretty seamless - ended up with about 9 months of AU Family for about $84.

  • +1

Indian Spotify key stills available. - $30 AUD
Here is the link to the 12 month key - https://www.g2a.com/spotify-premium-subscription-card-12-mon…
We used the same process last night, but switched to VPN for India and it worked seamlessly.
Same site advises that the six month key is out of stock.

    • Slightly cheaper on Eneba paying in Euros and after fees - AU$28.79
      https://www.eneba.com/spotify-spotify-premium-12-month-key-i…
Even less when there is a working discount code (not at the moment)

      • Can I stack that on to an existing Indian Spotify deal, or does it cap out at 18months~ ?

        • +1

It is capped at 18months but otherwise yes you can stack if you did not switch country away from India

          • @wangasm: Awesome, mine expires 12th May 2025 from last time, so I should add another 12 months on soon

  • I've access to YouTube music. Is Spotify better than that in terms of library and sound quality ?

  • +2

Has anyone had their accounts banned doing this method?

    • +1

Not banned, but had the Philippines based account cancelled recently

      • +2

Same here. Had been paying monthly via PayPal for the last 7 years, then it got cancelled.

  • Paying someone at the Ph for around 150pesos or 3-5$ monthly. 3years+ going strong.

  • Anyone know why, when I did this method, initially spotify was saying my sub will end in June 2025 but after I changed plan to Duo and changed country to Australia, my account said sub will end in Feb 2025.

    • +1

On step 7 up top. It's the conversion. 12month individual but much less after changing country and adding duo/family. Still much cheaper then Australian prices.

      • But its only 3.5 months now. Is that normal? I bought a 12 month gift card though

        • +1

I don't share. Just use it as is and utilize full year. Loosing so much when family or duo share. Also when changing country. So you bought this in June? Or changed to June after changing country to Australia?

          • @Mikael: just bought today… doing the India method… really weird… I was able to get the card redeemed for 12months, but in the end only shows sub up to Feb 25

            • +1

@Qmar: It sounds about right. A few months ago I converted 18 months India to Australia Family and it dropped to around 6 months (one third)

  • Does using Indian spotify affect release radar playlist suggestions?

    • Would love to know the same. I had that happen using Youtube Music India

  • +1

I just jump from free trial to free trial .

  • Now where to get 18 month of gift cards?

  • I bought 12 month key for $35 (India). After redeeming it for family premium, it becomes 3 months only.

    • The conversion rate appears to have gotten a lot worse, at least for India

  • Got 12 months Premium using India method for $30.29

  • -2

Paying a bit more for YT premium that includes videos ads free and music. You can also play music from your video playlist. I know many are still with Spotify.
    https://www.androidauthority.com/ditched-youtube-music-for-s…

    • Is YouTube music still a dogshit half baked version of Google Music? Nearly ten years later? Yeah, never giving google my money ever again. Adblock is free :)

      • The article might have answered your question if you read though. I know Google is well-known for killing their services like every year, but I don't think it will happen to YT anytime soon. Personally never paid a cent for YT until recently. Using Adblock might be bad for youtubers. I believe there is a pirate versions of YT as well as Spotify and many others out there can be found for free if you dive more.

  • Purchased the India method. Do note you dont get free audiobooks or Spotify DJ on this region.

  • What are the (dis)advantages of switching back to the AU account after applying the gift cards?

    • +1

      Disadvantages:
You get less time on the subscription
If you want to use gift cards again from another region - you have to let the account expire first. If you have a family group, this will disband it and you will have to re-invite them.

      Advantages:
You get a more complete catalogue, and some features (audiobooks etc).
If you're using family / duo, it's much easier to add other local people (don't need to mess about with VPNs for each of them)
It won't recommend Egyptian/Indian etc music to you.

I was running on Turkish for a long time, but recently switched to Australian using Brazillian gift cards. My wife is much happier with the more complete experience, and I'm enjoying holes in the catalogue being filled (especially Australian music).

      • Sorry just trying to work out the best country to go for - does Brazil give you audiobooks as well?

  • -2

It looks quite complicated and no guarantee if they close it down after a month. In that case it will be an expensive venture.

    • It’s really not that complicated. Took less than 5 mins and I have premium for less than $35 for 6 months.

  • I started the process to renew my Egyptian Spotify Premium giftcard on G2A after 12 months of success, but instead bought 12 months of Premium Duo for me and the Mrs for USD37.50 from Gameflip (vendor Discount Store).
I had to give them my password to load it, but all went well and I changed the password immediately afterwards.

    • -1

I have found the product but there's no description of how you redeem it - does it involve all the VPN steps? Did the seller talk you through the process?

  • My family plan says it will renew in a couple weeks at $23.99, do I need to turn off automatic renewals or something

  • Just redeemed 12 months of Indian premium spotify with this method, unfortunately 6month keys seem out of stock everywhere.

  • +1

I used this with Egyptian code last year which expired yesterday. Can confirm Indian code for 12 months is working! Cheers OP :)

  • Has anyone recently tried to convert 12 months India Premium to Australian Duo?

I'm only getting 109 days (3.5 months) - has the conversion rate changed that much?

  • cant find any Egypt Spotify gift cards available online right now.

    • Just do the india cards. Means it costs about $35/year for a solo acct.

  • Does this work if you buy 6x 3 months gift cards
