Weird. Tried to purchase several Home cards but Transaction Failed. Spoke to Customer Service and he looked into it via my email address, and said "Enter your address only on one line, not two (Address 1, Address 2). So I did that using just one line. But payment still failed. So he said he'd send my order details to tech support to investigate and maybe whitelist my address. He said when they come back there's no guarantee the gift cards will still be available.

    What an annoying website.

  • Ultimate home gift cards didn’t work at officeworks. They needed two more digits. I had to manually add the gift cards to my Apple Pay to pay with them.

    • +5

I am assuming you were attempting a purchase in an Officeworks store?

To use an Ultimate eGift Card at Officeworks (or any other retailer accepting it in their stores), you must add it to Apple Pay, Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet first. This is because Ultimate eGift Cards (and the physical Ultimate gift cards) are prepaid Visa gift card, so you must handle them like any other Visa card. Officeworks handles the redemption of Ultimate gift cards very differently when compared to Officeworks gift cards and Coles Group & Myer gift cards, which is why you were told you needed two more digits.

      • +1

I def didn’t know that. Or was too busy to read all TCa. Yes I had to add them all to Apple Pay :officeworks didn even know how to solve this). Thanks hopefully others do know before spending awhile at the store to manually add them all up.

Thanks, arrived within 10 mins 2 x $500. I have now swapped for JB Hifi Cards, and using my $30 perks voucher for a drone.

  • Grapes are sour 😂

  • Is there a time limit for the activation of these gift cards? Can I wait until I want to make a purchase? And is there any risk of fraud if the cards are not activated?

    • If you swapp your gift card into JBHI card tbhen there is no expiry on the JBHifi cards.

      • are you certain we can swap for jb cards?

        • I swapped last year nov by adding ultimate GC to my google Pay. I only did one card of $1k for jbhi fi Gift card.
They asked me how I was paying and I said it was by Credit card.

Tapped and put in the 4 digit pin code and voila!.

I dont know if things have changed since then.

    • There is also risk of the retailer removed from the card.

  • Great find! tried my NAB CC to purchase $1200 (3x$400) and give an error at payment (contact customer service). Tried my citibank CC and worked fine. Purchased at 7.00pm and giftcard email came through at 7.08pm.

  • To the seasoned ozbargainers, how many times a year do we see this particular 15% off deal? Also, is that the max discount we'll see? Has it ever been 20% or more?

  • +1

Wow this whole experience is terrible!

I have been trying since 09:00 this morning with multiple PCs, names, browsers (incognito or normal), phones, tablets, public IPs, credit cards and emails. Nothing works.

I even emailed support and they wanted me to email them the first 6 digits and the last 4 digits of my credit card before they would investigate. Surely this isn't legal?

    • +1

First 6 digit is the same with everyone else at the same bank so not giving away much. Maybe see if the last two digit or 3 digits is ok.

      • Good to know, thank you.

I actually gave them the card type and last 4 digits, which is the same as what PayPal emails me, but they were insistent they needed first 6 and last 4 and would not log a query with the payments team without this information.

I have never tried so hard to give someone my money and not been successful.

        • I called them yesterday they said verification code error, told me to call the bank. Called the bank and figured out no problem with my card. Called them again, asked for card digits but they still cannot fix the error. What a waste of time to give someone money

          • +1

            @daoddv: Headaches ha

Just go to Goodguys, pay less for cash.

  • Payment details keeps hanging for me with the infinite spinny wheel, even if I reload the page, use a different browser or desktop mode.

Anyone hit this and know how to get around it?

    • incognito?

    • +1

      Disable ublock origin.

      • that was my issue too

    • Use your phone

    • don't know if it's help but I am always using Coles credit card to buy this and Coles master gift cards, never had problems.

  • I think many people are having the same issue. Can't seem to make payment. I tried Visa, Amex and MC. Called and they're looking into it.

  • +1

Bought another gift card, no issues. Arrived within 10 minutes. Disable ublock origin if CC screen doesn't display.

    • What card did you use?

      • Ultimate Home $300

        2 hours earlier 2 X $500 Ultimate Him

  • Hi all.

Are Apple gift cards only in-store at JBHIFI? I can’t see it in their website.

If I convert these to JBHIFI gift cards, can I use JBHIFI gift cards to buy Apple gift cards?

    • +2

Are Apple gift cards only in-store at JBHIFI? I can’t see it in their website.

      Yep.

If I convert these to JBHIFI gift cards, can I use JBHIFI gift cards to buy Apple gift cards?

      Maybe.

If you look at clause 12 of the JB Hi-Fi gift card terms and conditions, this is specifically permitted.

The JB Hi-Fi instore checkouts should allow this too.

However, you may have a staff member insist you cannot use a gift card to purchase a gift card. It can (and does) happen.

      • I see thanks! Would it be better to convert to jbhifi gc or use these directly to get Apple gift cards?

        • +3

          Direct.

When you go to redeem an Ultimate gift card at JB Hi-Fi, all you need to do is to ask to pay by card (or Visa card). That is less likely to trigger a staff member to say “you cannot use gift cards to purchase gift cards”.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks a lot for the tip!

Will add these to the Apple wallet then and tap to pay by using these

        • Apple has a limit of 8 gift cards per transaction, and JB only has $200 gift cards, which means you need 11 to for the cheapest 15 Pro Max.

          • +4

@colt75: Apple has a redemption limit of 8 Apple gift cards in one online transaction. The workaround is to add Apple gift cards to your Apple Account Associated Balance first (and I believe that limit is $4,999), then redeem that Balance in conjunction with up to 8 Apple gift cards in one online transaction. I believe these limits and workarounds also apply to over-the-phone sales at 133 MAC.

Apple has a redemption limit of 20 Apple gift cards in one instore transaction. You cannot redeem Apple Account Associated Balances instore at Apple.

You can find more information on the Apple website.

            • @WookieMonster: @WookieMonster ahh thats good to know.

I called up apple today and they said 8 per transaction as directed me to this page -
              https://www.apple.com/au/shop/help/gifting#:~:text=You%20can…

Where it says - You can use up to eight Apple Gift Cards for one transaction at apple.com and the Apple Retail Store.

              • +1

@colt75: I asked two different staff members at an Apple Retail Store at the start of this year and again a couple of months ago, and both said the instore per-transaction redemption limit was 20. The second staff member said they actually had one customer earlier that week come in with 16 Apple gift cards, and they were able to redeem them all in one transaction.

can I buy apple gift card from officework?

      • +2

You can buy Apple gift cards at Officeworks, but I would be really surprised if you were allowed to use Ultimate gift cards as a payment method. I talk about this in more detail here.

        • I have tried to pay with Ultimate card online but I couldn't. I think the answer is "No" right

  • +2

Thanks OP , now to purchase these and get the best deal on IPhone 14 pro!

  • Failed transaction when using Zip pay card.
Try again with CBA debit card instead and transaction goes through. Got invoice immediately.
    Received gift cards after 10mins

  • +2

I added this to my Google Wallet successfully. When I view the virtual card detail, "To use your card online, verify card info" prompts to input 3-digit security code on my card.
I put in CVC but the verification fails. Anyone has the same issue?

    • Yes

    • I believe that Visa cards have 4 digit codes therefore a 3 pin code will not work. Is there any other 4 digit code available on your Giftcard.?

      • Visa has 3 digit CVC codes. Amex has 4 digit codes. Google Wallet verification only allows 3 digit codes for Ultimate e-gift cards.

I added this to Apple Pay with no issues. It didn't prompt me for any verification.

    • Yes I have the same issue, did you find solution? I am not sure if it can be used or have to update it first??

      • I added this to Apple Pay with no issues. It didn't prompt me for any verification.

May be the verification prompt applies to Google Wallet only.

    • You can remove the card and add it again. I had the same issue with the physical card.

      • I bought 3x$500 and entered each card individually in google wallet, each card shows up but when tap the card and I get message saying: Verify your card info to make sure that you can use this card everywhere online. When clicking (Verify card info, it takes you to visa card detail where it asks to enter 3 digit security code, but it won't accept to update..

Anyone else stuck on the Payment screen with a loading message? Haven't been able to get it to load all day with multiple PCs and browsers.

  • Does anyone know if Ultimate Home can buy Kogan gift card from Kogan website?

    • +1

      I doubt it.

I suggest you read through this conversation to see why I am doubtful.

    • Yes, I bought a few times, you have to use a browser not the app.

      • So simply use the ultimate gift card as credit card at computer browser check out?

        • Yes, I did it on Google Chrome, haven't tried it on other browsers yet.

          • @jimojr: Just tried on google chrome (normal and incognito), getting
"Sorry, there was an error processing your payment. Please try another payment method or try again"

When were you able to purchase Kogan GC with the home credit? Not getting any luck

Can we use these in IKEA

    • +2

Nearly everything I am about to tell you has already appeared in the comments of this deal…

The Ultimate gift card website will tell you which types of Ultimate gift cards include IKEA as a participating retailer.1

The Ultimate gift card website will also tell you how IKEA accepts Ultimate gift cards they appear on. I just checked it, and it says:

      • IKEA accepts them instore. In other words, you can use one of those Ultimate gift cards like any other Visa card in an IKEA store.

      • IKEA does not accept them online.

      • You can go to the Ultimate gift card website and exchange one of those Ultimate gift cards for an IKEA digital gift card. Someone said earlier today the largest IKEA gift card denomination stocked on the exchange portal is $200, but there is nothing stopping you from exchanging one Ultimate gift card for multiple IKEA gift cards.

To redeem one of the Ultimate gift cards in this deal instore at IKEA, you will first need to store it on a supported mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Samsung Wallet). Once at the store, you need to redeem them from your mobile wallet like you would redeem any other Visa card at IKEA. I do not know if there is a limit to the number of Ultimate gift cards you can redeem in one instore transaction at IKEA; someone said last week they were able to redeem 12 Ultimate gift cards in one transaction, but required staff assistance to do this. I tried to figure this out myself at an IKEA self checkout last week, but I could not find the option myself. The fact that staff assistance is apparently required is hardly surprising.

If you instead opt to exchange your Ultimate gift card for IKEA gift cards, the redemption process and limits for IKEA gift cards will apply instead. That means…

      • Instore: I do not know what the limit actually is (if there is one) for redeeming IKEA gift cards. I have used four in one instore transaction in the past, whereas someone else has redeemed a lot more than four in one instore transaction.

      • Online: I do not know what the limit actually is (if there is one) for redeeming IKEA gift cards. Someone once used 29 in one online transaction, and someone else was told the limit was 99. Someone else told me today there may only be a time limit for redemption!

      1. The table in the description will also tell you this, but you should always go back to the Ultimate gift card website and confirm yourself, as that website is the source of truth for participating retailers. You never know, IKEA could be removed from an Ultimate gift card (or the entire scheme) at any time without notice…

  • Anyone have a work around for 'invalid card details' when adding gc to apple wallet?

    • I had the same issue. Managed to add them to wallet on Mac though.

      • Yea I can add the cards to my MacBook too but really need them to work on phone :(

        • Did you come up with a work around? I was hoping I'd be able to use them in wallet after adding them on Mac for online order but no good. Luckily have an android so I loaded on that, worked first go.

          • @Thunderous Genious: No, it seems the problem is just with my iPhone's apple wallet. I'll probably grab my work phone next week and use Google/Samsung pay instead.

    • same issue

    • Tried two iPhones and the same issue then added cards to an Android which worked perfectly.

  • Ordered at 6:02pm awst received the invoice first after 5 mins the gcs

  • I get transaction failed using different devices, different cards.

    How are people even paying?

  • i bought the wrong cards: instead of Home, I bought the Shopping ones. What can I do in this case? Get a refund? Can I swap the Shopping ones for the Home ones? :((

    • how much did you buy?

      • $2,000

        • +2

damn, i think that is the worst card unless you into your drip and kicks

  • Did not get the card after paid money / received email for the taxinvoice, how long you guys wait for the card to arrive

    • +1

Some people got within minutes and some had to wait 4-6 hours. So just be patient and you will receive

  • +2

Is there any risk of these cards being hacked if you plan on keeping them for a while and don't want to convert them right away cause you don't want to be locked into a store?

    • There were situations where Coles Mastercards that you can buy were hacked, so it is possible, but a small risk.

      More context: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/724029

      • yeh that's the main reason i'm asking, those mc's were notorious.

    • I think there could be a risk, everyone’s expiry will be September 2028 so that’s one security feature gone. However that leaves the last seven digits of the card as well as the CVV to be guessed, so it’s still unlikely IMO.

  • -1

    Paid, but short ship. WTF……….

  • man i wish that samsung trade in deal was a few days longer, would def snatch a S23Ultra for like $690 if i could find some way to convert to samsung gift cards

    • I just bought ip14 from Officeworks last week. wish the deal came earlier. and also missed bud2 when purchasing s23. always a pity.

  • Has anyone had any luck buying a gc in the last hour or so? It’s coming up with a transaction failed message on my end. Have tried 3 diff cards

    • Im stuck at payment with spinning wheel

  • When purchasing Apple gift cards using Ultimate eGift Cards, are there any stores that offer variable load Apple gift cards? (If this exists).

Also has anyone had success purchasing more than one batch of $2,500.00?

    • Officeworks does. I was able to purchase the $500 variable load cards last year by loading my $100 Home GCs onto Google Pay.
This loophole has now been closed.

JB Hi-Fi is limited to $200 max denomination, which completely sucks.

        • Register threw up an error about not being able to pay for GC with GC

I did say the loophole was closed (earlier in the year). Also, mentioned by @WookieMonster many times.

Unless you are talking about JB Hi-Fi terminals?

  • +1

Thanks for posting the deal @BargainsGrabber. Much appreciated.

  • Do these earn AMEX points when using my AMEX platinum card? Or is there some exclusion?

  • THE SITE IS DOWN ? sorry cap

  • +1

transaction failed. wtf waste of time

  • Declining Cards and working cards

Those who tried using Zip cards and were declined did you try contacting Zip fraud department?

    What cards do work?

  • Has Jbhifi been removed from Him card? @WookieMonster

  • Transaction failed on multiple cards when trying incognito mode desktop PC. Then I tried on my phone using data and it went through (actually popped up with a bank confirmation requiring a netcode to be inputted); got the giftcards (500 x 3) within 5 minutes.

  • Can multiple ultimate gif cards be used in Weber online?

  • +1

Tried with amex 3 times, a transaction failed. Once with firefox, once with chrome, once with chrome on my phone using data.

    • Same

    • Use Safari

      • I used Safari this morning, still failed with 2 different cards

  • +5

ANZ is truly useless. Called 5 times and my card is still blocked. Saying it is a Visa issue but I don't bank with Visa do I

    • +1

It's trash. I transfered a thousand to my another card, then they put it in quarantine. I had to call the number which always takes forever to be answered

  • Transaction failed, please contact customer service.

  • finally worked after using chrome on my phone (no incognito), and not my laptop. same card as well.

  • Finally worked using cba debit card. No points for AMEX then

  • +1

If i want to buy iphone15 than i gonna try to buy 4 cards[500*4]. The problem is jb hifi allow only one transaction per order means i can use only one ultimate gift card. Really appreciate if someone clarify on this.

    • +2

You can use multiple cards in-store.

  • use safari if payment fails

  • anyone had luck changing over the cards into JB digital gift cards?

I managed to get 2 done, and its now a new calendar day - no luck getting a 3 rd.

    • Wait 24 hours would be my advice.

    • How did you change them to digital in hi-fi cards? I thought JB was no longer on the excuse portal!

    • +1

Ditto. No problems buying 2 JB GCs yesterday evening.

Today morning, the 3rd one got automatically cancelled.

Perhaps we have to wait 24 hrs like dins wrote?

      • +1

Waited 24 hours and the 3rd went through fine for me but the 4th got cancelled automatically (tried twice).

So forwarded the cancellation email to [email protected] asking if anything can be done about it. Should hopefully hear back from them tomorrow.

        • Well this is the reply I got back however I kept trying and managed to get one each last couple of days. So if it gets automatically cancelled maybe try again the next day.

          Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept pre-paid visa cards through our online store, if you would like to continue with your purchase, you will need to do this in-store.

This is due to high velocity of purchases in a short period of time and each will continue to decline, especially as different pre-paid cards are being redeemed.

We apologies for the inconvenience caused.

    • Same question I have, how did you change it into digital JB cards, it wasn't listed on the exchange portal for me either?

      • +1

You buy them from JB Hi-Fi.

  • Question: it looks like you need to "activate" the gift card with your details before you can use it. So does that mean if I haven't yet activated my gift cards, they can't possibly get hacked? I assume they don't exist before activation? That way I could just wait until I'm going to use them before activating.

Saw a post about coles gift cards getting hacked and now it has me a little worried

    • +2

if I haven't yet activated my gift cards, they can't possibly get hacked?

They can use their details to activate your card, because your name and email address are not linked to this card.

      • To activate it, they'd need to get on my email though right?

  • Huge amount of effort but finally done.

FF card would not work on PC or mobile but debit card worked on the laptop.

Swapped 1 card for a JB gc and stacked the $30 perks coupon and got the DJI Action 4 adventure combo for $670.65. Solid deal and just in time for upcoming trip. Thanks for the tips guys and good luck to those still trying.

    • How did you swap to JB gc?

      • +1

Online you can enter the Ultimate GC as a credit/debit card and for the cardholder name use your name. Afaik the max allowed is 1 Ultimate GC per order and 2 JB GC exchanges per day (24 hours).

        • So you could change 5 X $500 ultimate cards to JB gc over 3 days? Where is this done? Then you can use as many JB hi-fi gift cards online as you like?

          • @NoApostrophePlurals: Managed to exchange 3 x $500 via JB online but the 4th got cancelled automatically (tried twice).

So forwarded the cancellation email to [email protected] asking if anything can be done about it. Should hopefully hear back from them tomorrow.

Afaik there was a max 5 JB GC limit online but I think that's no longer the case. I can't find anything in their terms and conditions about any limit.

        • +2

Everytime I do that, it says order complete. And I receive an email from JB HIFI saying "Your order has been cancelled. Unfortunately, your recent order of $500.00 has failed our verification process and been cancelled."

          • @amritshrestha: You can go in store and exchange them for jb cards

          • +1

@amritshrestha: You need to contact JB help to get the flag removed. I was able to do 2 earlier for $500 but recall a few years ago having this exact issue.

          • @amritshrestha: Forward the cancellation email to [email protected] that's what I did. Not sure if it's going to work but should hopefully hear back from them tomorrow.

      • +1

An earlier commenter mentioned using a different JB account, receiver email, IP and still getting a cancellation. Only thing they didn't change was the mobile number. I wonder what info Riskified is actually matching.

        • +1

I tried with my partner's account but same happened. Will visit store today to buy gift card as i can't see any other way.

  • have many people had success purchasing Apple GC's at JB?

    • Yes

    • Is there any reason to buy an iPhone from Apple vs JB?

      • No questions asked returns with Apple. Ie you don’t like the colour in a weeks time and would like to change it. Apple are extremely good with returns/refunds within. 14 days.

        • Oh bummer - did not know that. Just PO with JB.

  • +1

why is it always transaction failed for me?

  • I’m new to all this… If I buy a gift card worth say $300 to use at JB Hifi (online) to pay for something that costs more than $300, can I use the gift card then pay the remaining balance with my credit card? (I don’t know the final price of the item I’m buying yet).

    • +4

      No.

The Ultimate gift cards in this deal are prepaid gift cards that operate on the Visa network, and JB Hi-Fi only lets you redeem a maximum of 1x debit/credit/prepaid card per transaction on the JB Hi-Fi website. In other words, it is impossible to use an Ultimate gift card and a credit card in the same online transaction.

There are two workarounds (which you can read more about here):

      • Convert your Ultimate gift card into a JB Hi-Fi gift card (and that requires some effort and patience). You can pay the remainder using a credit card or another Ultimate gift card or a JB Hi-Fi gift card.

      • Use your credit card to purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card to cover the difference between the order cost and the Ultimate gift card value.

      • +1

Awesome. Thank you so much for this info :)

      • How about offline?

        • +1

As per the FAQ in the wiki:

JB Hi-Fi’s point-of-sale system will allow multiple Ultimate gift cards to be redeemed in one instore transaction, and there is no known limit built into the system. The OzBargain record is currently 81.

However, redeeming multiple Ultimate gift cards in a transaction will only be allowed at the discretion of the staff member operating the checkout. Although JB Hi-Fi staff usually permit multiple cards to be used in most transactions, staff may choose to not allow the redemption of multiple Ultimate gift cards, especially if a gift card (e.g. JB Hi-Fi gift card, Apple gift card, Google Play gift card) is being purchased in the transaction.

  • +2

Amazing deal! Preordered the next iPhone from JB hifi for 15% off, you couldn’t get a discount like that anywhere!

    • Was there a waiting period? I checked on JB website on the delivery option and it says unknown eta on when the next iPhone batch will arrive

      • +1

I did it in store for click and collect, and they said I could pick it up on Friday
        (Sydney / world square store)

        • Is that for pro max?

    • Can u tell me your steps to get 15% off. Did u add all gift card in apple wallet?

      • Yeah I bought 4 gift cards totalling $1,649 and added them to my apple wallet.
Then went in store and asked to pre-order. Said I had pre-paid credit cards and I paid $500 on 3 and the remainder on the last one.

  • Does jb have any problems with redeeming these for Apple gift cards? Like the full $2500 in them or is dependant on the sales person?

  • Has anyone managed to buy a gc successfully in the last 12 hours? Still getting transaction unsuccessful. Tried different phones, email address and cards for payment

    • It worked fine for me on a windows desktop using chrome

  • OK so if i get $2,200 worth of Ultimate him GC which is 4x$500 and 1x $200 for $1,870 I can just walk into a JB hifi store and buy a iPhone 15 pro max for 15% off ? Any catches?

    • Nope, I did just that yesterday. The only minor thing is they might have run out of iphone 15 pro max from the first shipment, so you might not get it by this Friday.

      • Online still shows stock for click and collect for certain pro max models?
Does that mean you can preorder but wont get it friday?

        • It's best if you walk in an ask them. I manage to get an allocation for a pro max today.

  • Has anyone able to load these GC's in Revolut or Paypal?

    • Doesn’t load into PayPal unfortunately

  • Ordered and received 2x$100 this morning in Chrome incognito

Added to Samsung Wallet, no issues

  • Still not working, tried heaps of times last night and this morning

edit: used mobile data and safari browser and it finally worked

    • Try Chrome on either your desktop/laptop or mobile (doesn’t have to be incognito). It’s the only browser that worked with my CBA debit Mastercard and CBA Visa Credit Card.

Prompts for SMS/NetCode and confirmation email arrived within minutes. actual GIft Card arrived 2.5 hours later, but instead of swapping on their site just bought a JB gift card on the JB website using the Ultimate gift card as full payment.

  • Anyone having issues with using the Ultimate home at Total tools? I have loaded it up on my Apple Pay but it declines on the eftpos machine. They also tried manually entering the card number in but no luck.
    Giftcard is activated already.

    • Did they select payment method as a credit card (not as a gift card)?

This is no good. I was hoping to use it at Total Tools.

      • They tried both credit and savings.
Both no good. I tried calling ultimate gift cards support line but they didn’t want to help.

  • Transaction is failing after entering OTP with Westpac Debit card… why :(

    • Try doing it on your partner/friend's name and email (also change your address to any friend's) in safari (in phone browser with mobile data) $1000 per transaction.

deal is over? cant find the ultimate gift cards from main link,
also the discount is not auto applying in cart, like it did yesterday night, i think its finished. i should have bought than..

    • +1

Running until the 26th, last I saw it wasn't showing on their main site but if you click through the links in the table in the OP they should work (did for me 5 minutes ago).

Doesn't seem to work in some browsers though, I had to use safari on my phone - would not work in edge or chrome for me

      • -4

you are not listening, its not applying discount in checkout like it did yesterday, ozbargained..

welp ill take it as a sign from the universe that i dont need to update my iphone just yet

        • Still works, showing discount for me on checkout.

          Subtotal: $600.00
          15% off Ultimate Him (Digital) - $15.00
          15% off Ultimate Home (Digital) - $75.00

@vinnie05: it briefly sold out for 30 mins, and it came back again. went through first try no issues at all, did it with 2 different credit cards too for a family member, no issues got the gift cards

  • Dammit, promotion finished. I tried all day yesterday and didn't get it to work at all. Wasn't this supposed to go until the 26th!?

    • Still available.

    • Wasn't this supposed to go until the 26th!?

Offer available from 20/09/23 9am until 26/9/23 5pm. While stocks last

  • Is it all out? Can't see 15% off anymore

oh wow party is over, was going to go for round 3 today.
Ah well what I got will need to do, IKEA pax here I come.

    • its people like you who abuse it that makes the rest of us miss out lol

      • It's still working, just add the card to your cart and you can see the discount

  • Does anyone have problems, with adding this card to Apple wallet, ive done 2 but the 3rd one says invalid card.

    or cant even check balance?
I get this error - We are unable to process your request at this time. If you continue to receive this error, please contact Cardholder services by calling the number on the back of your card.

    • Yea I was able to add 2 gc but the next 2 were invalid, I wonder if it's a problem with apple wallet

      • @CabraLB

Does your card balance show up when you check it? Mine gives an error so maybe its the card side

        • Yea my card balance shows up and everything It may be an issue with apple wallet on iPhone because I can still add the cards to apple wallet on Macbook

          • @CabraLB: Hi.

            This happened to me yesterday.

I bought 2.5k (5 x $500). Bought 2 x JB giftcards online because thats the maximum allowed per day.
I then went into to JB and i tried to add my remaining 3 cards onto apple pay - the third one doesn't work. This makes me think that apple wallet also limits the amount of cards you can add per day.
Ended up using my final card after 12:00am this morning to get my final JB giftcard.

  • Still have $2200 15% GC in my cart but cant purchase because of payment fail after OTP is entered over and over.

    • Try doing it on your partner/friend's name and email (also change your address to any friend's) in safari (in phone browser with mobile data) $1000 per transaction.

  • You can directly go to the link and enter amount (500) and you should see the discount in the cart (works as of 21 Sep 9:14AM)- https://www.giftcards.com.au/ShoppingCart/ProductDetail/Ulti…

  • It's still working, just add the card to your cart and you can see the discount

  • Still seeing the discount being applied after selecting an amount to purchase. On mobile chrome atm.

  • Anyone know if you can use multiple cards at Goodguys or a workaround? With current Miele 10% promo and this deal can make for a rare 20%+ off miele

    • The wiki linked in OP’s description has FAQ for using Ultimate gift cards instore at TGG, online at TGG, as well as TGG Commercial.

Having said that, Miele may be a weird edge case, because if you are looking at a Miele agency product, I do not know how TGG handles payments for that.

      • +1

Thanks, i have previously purchased Miele through good guys over the phone, using good guys gift cards and amex. I might call them to check

  • Just purchased Ultimate Home with 15% discount. Received invoice email confirmation. Now waiting for the actual GC.

    Edit: just received the GC!

Day 2 of 'Transaction failed' with neither side saying there's an issue.

    • Same! Westac said the transaction isn't even getting to them so its a retailer issue, and I only have one card, no other CC or debit cards to us haha :(

      • I've tried everything, different cards, different devices, different browsers, different details and email addresses, not being on WiFi. It's just (profanity).

        • Ditto!! Wasted 4 hours!

    • I had success with using my mobile on Chrome. Used a CBA CC.

  • I'm looking now and i could have sworn some cards had ikea but its not there anymore?

    • home/student & shopping did according to this post, maybe they have been removed now??

    • +1

I just checked the Ultimate gift card website, and the IKEA logo shows up on the Home, Students and Style/Shopping gift card webpages.

Remember, the Ultimate gift card website is the source of truth for participating retailers, not the giftcards.com.au website (or OzBargain, for that matter, because I last ran a script to grab participating retailers from the Ultimate gift card website 30 hours ago and things could have changed in the meantime).

      • +1

these sold out for 30 mins and are now back in stock, i purchased and it came in like 15 min. remember if you are trying to buy iphone, you can load these up into an apple pay or google pay account and pay instore, you CANNOT use them to buy from jbhifi online, only in store.

  • +2

No matter what browser or what card I try. Transaction failed! FFS

    • +2

Imagine not letting customers pay you? pretty bad business model.

    • I was using Coles Mastercard which failed multiple times throughout yesterday and today. I called Coles and they've said that there is nothing wrong on my account.
From what he can see though, is that the SMS code that got sent to my mobile phone was incorrect hence the failure.

      • Bizare!!! Was it fixed for you\?

        • he submitted the issue to their backend IT?
he said he'll try to get back to me within a day or so, which is too late for this deal.

i tried another card, that was Visa, incase it was an MC issue.

NOPE, still failed. then a 3rd card on MC, same shit, failed.

this is with both Chrome and Edge with no adblock on.

i will try my mobile with Safari now.

          • @tonytiger: i called giftcards, they said that if you fail 3 times, the account gets blocked by the website, regardless of what other cards you end up using.
he suggested to me that you use someone elses credentials such as email, name and address, on a different IP.

            sounds great.

EDIT: soo, i used my mothers phone on mobile data, with her credentials(Name, email, mobile number BUT i used my neighbours address instead). i used my CC to pay, a different card to what was used on my account.

            this 'workaround' worked for me.

            • @tonytiger: Still failing for doing the above

            • @tonytiger: Why is it failing at all though? The three times thing is a red herring, if it doesn't work it doesn't work .

              • @noise36: the strange thing though is that i know i input the correct code every single time. doesnt make sense that it didn't work.

oh well, i got my invoice and in less than 10mins got the gift card. what a struggle.

@AshSet did you use a different IP address? so if you were using home wifi, use someone elses phone on mobile data.
i essentially created a new account with my mothers details, changed the address by a digit and it worked.

maybe call giftcards and see which credit card is blocked on their website so you know which card is still valid to be used.

                • @tonytiger: I tried in my wife's name on 5g still no luck. Used all her details.

                  • @AshSet: @AshSet: Are you still having issues with purchasing the ultimate gift cards? Which ones are you after? I accidentally purchased the “Shopping” one (Ikea, Temple&webster etc. )

If you’re looking for those I can help if interested.
                    Let me know.

  • Has anyone tried buying jbhifi giftcards offline?Did anyone make the payment? My online purchase was canceled.

Can buy 2 when making payment using gift card in credit card section. Did you instead add to apple wallet?

      • I can't add it to my apple wallet, it keeps showing invalid

    • Mine just got cancelled online too

    • want to know too. 3 times, I was able to exchange for a jb-hifi card, but still have another two to exchange and getting order cancelled.
can i go n enter the card number in the pos terminal? Invalid card error when trying to add in apple pay n gpay, the card gets added but ask you to verify again, which says an "error occurred".

      • Hi - You can only get 2 JB gift cards per day using these gift cards.

You can get another 2 by physically go in store and pay with these cards from apple wallet. - I think apple wallet limits the number of ultimate giftcards you can add as well.

The final one can be purchased online after 12:00am tonite

        • I was able to buy 2 yesterday but only the 1 today. Perhaps my case is unique or it has shifted to max 1 per day.

  • Is there any way to exchange these ultimate gift cards for Paypal money? I am thinking to buy Samsung QLED 75' TV with 20% off from my company's portal( plus 15% of Ultimate Gift Card ). Samsung only allows debit/credit cards, Afterpay and Paypal as payment method. Could anyone suggest any workaround?

    • If you could load onto Paypal then couldn't you just withdraw instead? Literally free money.

  • Wiki section says you can not pay online in 99 Bikes, but their support says you can but you need to use it in the credit card field. So who is right? Maybe they can process payment via phone if online does not work? Thanks

    • The wiki is right, and the support team is also right.

      The wiki says the following:

99 Bikes currently does not allow any 99 Bikes gift cards to be redeemed on their online store.

It does not say anything about whether you can use Ultimate gift cards on the 99 Bikes online store. The Ultimate gift card website says that is possible.

99 Bikes gift cards are not the same as Ultimate gift cards.

      • +1

Thank you very much. It means I should be safe purchasing those Ultimate cards to pay for my 99 Bikes online orders. Great to hear that!

        • You should be okay to use one Ultimate gift card to pay for a 99 Bikes online transaction. I doubt 99 Bikes will let you use multiple Ultimate gift cards (i.e. multiple Visa cards) in one online transaction.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks, very helpful. I will just calculate the online order total first and then buy one Ultimate card to cover that.

  • whos at the step of trying to add these to apple pay?

first 500 gift card gets added no issues,
    second fails
    third fails..

if anyone has a solution please share.

    • Also having issues with adding them to Apple wallet, I think it’s an ultimate issue.

      • hmmm based on comments:
for some once they add one they cant add anymore (this is me)
for some they could only add 2 and than they cant add anymore.
for some they could add all of them without issues.

        this is very annoying.

so im wondering do we even need to add them to apple pay at this point to make purchase instore? or can we go instore and have them enter the card details manually (split payments of 500) for whatever you are trying to buy.

        • I was just in the JB website and they can’t manually enter gift cards or card numbers in.

So I could only pay with 2x $500 gift cards on Apple Pay, and then had to pay the rest on an Amex.

Now I have 3x500 gift cards I can’t use, can’t add to Apple Pay, or buy a Jb gift card with

          • @colt75: I had the same issue not long ago - lucky i had my apple watch with me - added it to the apple watch and paid.
All in all did 5k worth from Ultimate to Apple Gift Cards

            • +1

@limaecho: so it worked by you adding the cards via apple watch? how do you do that?

              • @Roe Jogan: In the apple watch goto the wallet app just like you do on the phone and manually enter the numbers and expiry.

I have a feeling there is a max limit on how many ultimate cards can be added on the phone, as I had 6 on the phone, and then was getting error when adding the remaining 4, tested on my apple watch and was able to add the 4, tested on another iphone and was able to add the remaining 4.

        • I think it depends on the store - JB only accepts them if I add them onto Apple Pay

          • @Vaywyr: just called JB they said they cant manually enter card details the eftpos machine does not allow them. so we are stuck at this point unless we can add them to apple pay..
EDIT: just called the good guys, same issue they cant enter credit card details manually..
            FFS

            • @Roe Jogan: That's right. I went instore to JB yesterday.
Luckily I was able to add 2 cards to apple pay and used instore; and then I bought 2 JB-giftcards online.
Bought the final one last night after 12:00am

  • +2

Purchased $1850 yesterday and having issues adding the cards to apple pay (1 card added, 3 say invalid details). I dont have a Mac with TouchID to add them that way.
I tried Google Wallet instead and I can add the cards, they show up as payment methods with the little tap icon above the card but when I click on the card, it asks me to 'verify your card infor to make sure that you can use this card everywhere online'. This verification fails when I attempt it with all cards. Will tap still work even if I dont verify?

    • +1

it wont work. i tried to tap at the store n it did not work.

      • Damn, Thanks for letting me know. I see someone else had the same issue and just readding the card worked but ive tried that multiple times (hence posting here)

    • i read in the comment that some guy tried the google wallet method and when he went to tap and pay it didnt work. thats why im trying the apple wallet way

      • Yeah, Apple Pay let me add one card but the others come up invalid card

    • +2

Well, I emailed Ultimate Gift Cards and awaiting a response.

Pulled up Samsung Pay on an old phone and was able to add all 4 cards with no issue. Appear to be ready to use in store with no verification etc.

      To clarify my experience:

Apple Pay - Added 1 GC, 3 others came back with invalid card details
Google Pay - Able to add all cards but they need to be verified. All cards failed this verification. Confirm by other user that tap-to-pay in this status will not work in-store
Samsung Pay - Added all cards, appears to be ready to use in-store

Note that everyone has had a completely different experience to each other. Some can only add 1-2 cards and some can add as many as they want. Doesn't seem to be device/OS specific, it's just random. This to me is an Ultimate Cards issue and not an issue with Google/Apple/Samsung

      • well damn, a family member has a samsung, i might need to wait till they get home

      • thanks.. its same as my finding for google pay and samsung pay. but i think the issue is between Ultimate card with Google pay only.
Tested in my phone Google Pay - can add, but failed in verify security code.
Tested in my friend phone Google pay same result. But it's able to add to his samsung pay without issue
all our google pay and samsung pay are up today version.

        • what happens if you dont have samsung phone and a moto? i cant add it in google pay

      • Did you get this resolved?

I had 5 cards, could add two to phone wallet and two to watch wallet. Can’t add the fifth card no matter what. I’ve even used the other four, deleted from wallet and still can’t add it. Raised a request with support, they closed my ticket because I was able to use four of the five cards lol

Next step is a complaint to AFCA.

  • +1

i bet its such a simple fix that ultimate have the maximum active number set to 1, that needs to change, ultimate has a system settings figure set as :1 i think that's limiting the number of active cards on an account thats probably why we cant add the rest to apple pay. still need a solution though and im not talking about refunds at this point

    • I managed to add 2 ultimate cards to my Apple Pay yesterday, but no further.

I’m not far off doing a charge back at this point.

Spoke to ultimate cards they said they’ll escalate it to their team and get an answer in 3-5 business days

      • Why is ultimate not fixing this issue right away?
Surely they’d sell more gift cards if they removed the cap..

    • +1

I've added 5 cards to Apple Pay without a problem.

    • I could add 3 on Apple, couldn't add the rest, had to use an Android.

      • according to comments, google wallet will let you add but when you go instore to use it shows error

    • Hopefully it's just a 24-hour restriction or something because it seems the only workaround is having another phone

  • I cannot purchase giftcards with my Amex Platinum card. Try different browsers already. Chrome, Safari, Firefox. Desktop, mobile.
Also, I've contacted Amex, they said there is no rejection…
Does anyone have any luck with Amex? Let me how to fix it.

    • Perhaps ultimate doesn’t accept Amex (higher fees) - have you tried another card?

      • No, I only tried Ultimate Home. I would assume it should work but clearly, it is not

    • Same, Amex told me they didn't even get a rejection so nothing to do with their end.

I also tried Mastercard, Master Debit Card still don't work on Chrome, Safari on desktop / phone still not working for me.

      • I’ve only tried ANZ visa credit card and worked beautifully

      • We are in the same boat. I have the same answer from Amex. Nothing they can do. It was okay when I purchased Coles Mastercard gift cards. Anyway, please let me know if you find a solution.

        • It has nothing to do with the credit card.
Ask a friend do it for me with my credit card and it went thr no problem.
But you need to get someone trust worthy to do it.

    • Mine works with Amex platinum no problem

      • You must be very lucky. Could you share more info? E.g. when the purchase was done, what gift card did you purchase, which browser, desktop or mobile?

I just did mine within the las 30 mins and was able to add them to apple pay. Hoping no issues in store as I'll need to split the $1500 into 3 payments.

        • how many times did you try until it worked? ive tried like 10 times

          • @Roe Jogan: Ok new data Point.

I have just added my other 3 gift cards to my partners apple wallet.
I have no idea why its not working on my phone, but it just worked on hers and theres now 3 on there.

Also it appears JB isnt processing any more giftcard payments/exchanges online.

            They said
"Unfortunately you will need purchase the remaining orders in-store as we are not able to assist further.

This is due to high velocity of purchases in a short period of time and each will continue to decline, especially as different prepaid cards are being redeemed."

Also dont bother calling them, i was on hold for 35 minutes before they said email us

            • @colt75: can you remove the one that got added to your wallet and add it to hers so that all of them are on hers?

            • @colt75: Yea seems like there's a restriction on some phones/wallets for some reason?

      • +3

I have faced this issue and is in contact with Blackhawk/Apple. The problem is: it is not an Ultimate Card Issue. It’s a Blackhawk or Apple Wallet issue.

I’ve added 12 Ultimate everyone cards in my Wallet for a purchase at IKEA. The trick is not to add them in quick succession. I add a maximum of 2-3 cards a day, spanned over a few hours:

However, when I updated my to iOS 17 and signed out of my appleid, it removed all the cards. So I forgot that Ultimate uses Blackhawk. When I added my Activ VISA, Supermarket and Ultimate (all BLACKHAWK), in quick succession, after several cards, the end result is Invalid Card error. It has been over a week and the end result is the same.

The current only solution is adding it to another Apple wallet. I have an older iPhone X that I add to and it works. But remembering to add only 2-3 per day. It uses the same appleid as my current phone. It’s targeting a specific device. It’s either Blackhawk (whom last told me that it’s adding on their end. Case resolved and if I have any other issues, it’s mostly coming from Apple). I was on the phone with Apple tech support yesterday for 2 hours. Am waiting a call back at 3pm today to discuss further.

Currently, my older iPhone X (which I had to carry around + hotspot) which is annoying carrying 2 phones has 12 Blackhawk cards. 6 Activ VISA, 6 Ultimate Everyone.

It is also not an iOS issue. I believe @Wookiemonster suggested it could be an Apple Wallet/Pay fraud detection system. Normally, who would have more than 3 so called Bank VISA issued cards. I believe adding it in quick succession, the system assumes it’s a script attempting to add to an Apple Wallet and blocks that specific Blackhawk VISA issued cards. I could be wrong of course. I am no closer to solving this. Let’s see what Apple says in a few hours.

        • How did you go with Apple tech support? definitely seems like an Apple Wallet problem.

          • @CabraLB: They didn’t call me back. Perhaps no update yet. I’ll wait for another 24 hours and I’ll call them back.

          • +1

@CabraLB: No call back. Been flat out busy at work. However, Apple has come out with a new iOS update for both 16.7 and 17.0.1.

I figured I’ll try my luck and update. Perhaps something was updated hence no update call from Apple? I managed to add a Activ VISA for the first time. No “Invalid Card” error. Not 100% sure it is related but I’ll add Ultimate shortly and instead of adding 2-3 cards per day. I’ll try to add one every hour. If it works, “hooray”. If not, “invalid card” error again then.

Here is how I managed to change the UC to Jb Hifi GC.

Bought 5 UC yesterday (went through fine on first attempt)
Added to apple wallet, managed to convert 3 UC to JB GC through Apple Pay
I was not able to add the rest two UC to my apple wallet. tried to add it in Gpay and it got added successfully
Went to the store to buy, but when I tapped my phone, google wallet asked to verify the card again n was not able to validate. Was giving out an error
tried to add the UC to my iphone today, but failed.
Registered a new account in Jb Hifi, gave different name/address/email and was able to convert the UC to Jb Hifi gift using the pay by credit card option.

    Hope, this might help some.

    • whats the gift card limit with JB again?

      • 2 per 24 hour period

        • so i can buy 2 today and by 3rd tomorrow or is that a (not so sure) situation too?

          • @Roe Jogan: That's correct. Say you bought 2 now, you would be able to buy the 3rd after 12pm tomorrow (24 hours). That's my understanding from the comments of others.

            • @brightside: this seem to be the only left solution..
ill wait a few more hours before i go with this route. (wait till a family member gets home with their samsung pay)

              • @Roe Jogan: Why do u need to add these cards to Apple/Google Pay or convert to JB GC? Simply head to JB store and use as many cards as you want to purchase anything.
Just used 4 Home Cards in store at JB to pre-order an iPhone 15 Pro.

                • @OZBsince2018: what the hell.. i called two JB stores and they said we cant enter card details manually, how are you doing that. did they enter the card details manually?

                • @OZBsince2018: how did u redeem it? just enter the card number at eftpos terminal?

                  • +1

@shanlee: They guy at JB Hifi George St in Sydney used these as GC and not Visa cards. Thats how he was able to enter the 19 digit PCN and 4 digit Pin Code to redeem those just like you redeem JB GCs. Hope this helps.

            • @brightside: I was able to get my third one last night 12:00am. I bought the previous two at 1 in the afternoon

              • @Vaywyr: and you can add all of them together to checkout online?

                • @Roe Jogan: Yeah. you can. i just redeemed 5 of my Jb Hifi GC + Perks $10 coupon, in one order.

                  • @shanlee: bruh.. so you just told them hey i wana pay with home ultimate gift cards here is the picture on my phone?

                    • @Roe Jogan: JB cannot manually enter card details. I went there before with the photo on my phone and they said cant do it

                      • @colt75: seems like a hit and miss, the two dudes above me claim they got it done, see this is what im saying, the two stores i called in my area said they cant enter card details manually..

                        • @Roe Jogan: Went to the store to check if they can enter the number manually. Was told, they are not allowed to do it, cos of too many fraud and chargebacks. If its a physical card, we could walk-in and swipe the card.

                          • @shanlee: you keep saying you redeemed it and in another follow up comment you say it does not work. im so confused..

"this is your last comment: @Roe Jogan: Yeah. you can. i just redeemed 5 of my Jb Hifi GC + Perks $10 coupon, in one order."

now in the above comment you are saying you went in store and was told they are not allowed to do it.. so which is it?

                            • @Roe Jogan: The JB Hi Fi store I went to yesterday wouldn't let me use the UC Home cards manually.
I added them to my google wallet as a Payment card (new credit or debit card) and then I was able to tap my phone at the EFTPOS terminal.

                              • @Penro: so you tried the google wallet method, of course that would work if you can get it to work, the comment was referring to getting direct UC to work at JB as in the email version, which JB keeps rejecting. if we could get the gift card onto apple pay or google wallet we would not be having this conversation lol

                            • @Roe Jogan: I did a online transaction n done with it. this is true —> "i just redeemed 5 of my Jb Hifi GC + Perks $10 coupon, in one order."

Jb-Hifi is next to my office building. Checked when i went to grab a coffee.

                              • @shanlee: yeh that would take 3 days for 5 cards, 2 each day.

                          • @shanlee: I have faced this issue and is in contact with Blackhawk/Apple.

Update: No Apple call back today. Will give another 24 hours and contact them again.

    • Noob question, why do you have to convert it to JB GC? Can you pay directly with UC?

      • +1

You only need to if you need to pay with more than one gift card on JB online. If going instore to purchase then you can just pay with UC.

        • -1

in store with UC is hit and a miss, some say it worked some say they refused.

  • There are various posts in this thread saying some people have been able to add to Google Play and use in store at JB, to purchase Apple Gift cards. And some people saying it failed.

The whole reason for my interest here was to do this and now it looks possible that it cannot be done.

Anyone got anything to add on this?

    • See my comment above. Everyones had different experiences with add the cards. If you have another phone, try adding to that.

      • To make it clear, I have added my cards to Google wallet - I'm concerned about being able to tap and pay with them in the store.

    • +1

I did this yesterday and it worked with Google Pay.

      https://ibb.co/jrL6D5t

  • Bought the the max value to use with a jb hifi purchase. I didn't realise you could only use 1 and it had to cover the whole purchase amount, so I had to go into JB and they did everything for me and I then paid using these cards one after the other. JB staff were awesome!

I used it for the TV and soundbar deal and stacked the JB hifi perks $30 off $300 purchase.

Got the following for $2186 total..

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tcl-75-c845-4k-uhd-mini-l…
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tcl-s643w-240w-3-1-channe…

    • what do you mean they did everything? did you just hand them the digital image of the giftcards? you didnt add it to apple pay?

      • They set up the purchase etc and arranged delivery so I didn't need to go and do it online. I had already added the cards to apple pay to make it easier.

        • yeh i figured, thats what everyone else is having issues with..

  • can jd sports gift card be used online? thanks

    • +1

Yes, just like you use a normal debit and credit card by entering 16 digit card number, card holder name, expiry date, and 3 digit CVV

      • perfect, thank you :)

  • Can't add the card as a payment method for HelloFresh

  • I had issues with "Transaction rejected", so I tried a different email and wrote my address a bit differently, and it went through.

  • +1

    latest findings:

could only add one UC to apple wallet, could not add 2nd or 3rd
tried to add the second UC to apple watch it worked.
tried to add 3rd UC card to apple watch gave error.
now stuck with one UC in apple wallet on iphone, snd one in apple watch, (i can ofcourse remove them completely)

tried to move the one in the watch to the iphone it gave an error.

    Left solutions:
go the route of JB gift card 2 per day approach. (until you collect them all to make your purchase)
go in store and try your luck see if they will accept UC card in store. (some say they accepted some say they were refused)
last option: Samsung wallet. (find someone with Samsung wallet to add all the gift cards to, apparently this works, I'm waiting on a family member to come home to try)

    • Let us know if Samsung wallet works and if it works in-store when paying. Seems like the only available solution for me

      • have not tried store, called 2 stores they said no

      • yeh will update, boy will i be pissed if samsung pay asks for verification like other peoples google wallet

      • +1

i added 10 x $500 ultimate gift cards to my samsung wallet. 10 seems to be the limit as ive got another 10 i need to add. I havent used in store yet but its giving me the tap and pay icon saying its ready to go.

    • I'm new to this. Why does it sound like you absolutely must have the gift cards in your payment wallets? What happens if you just leave it on your email and use it as a gift card when you need it?

      • +1

Nothing - Some may want to convert them into for eg. JB gift cards so they will be able to make large purchases with them online in the future. Because JB online don't allow any form of split payments (unless it's JB gift cards).

Also, my JB didn't allow me to use them as gift cards, they wanted me to add them onto apple pay.

      • +1

ill tell you why, loading them into apple wallet is a %100 assurance of not getting rejected from the store, going to the store with the image of the gift cards in your email, for some it worked and the person there was able to manually ad them, for many others they were told they cant manually enter details ( i my self called 2 JBs and was told that they cant.) if you want to try your luck you can head in store, im still waiting to try the samsung pay trick as i cant add them to my apple wallet like many others its giving errors.

  • Are these gift card prone to hacking given they are similar to credit card?

    • Probably. Seems like after you redeem them they are easily accessible from your email.

  • +1

Just went to JB North Sydney and they only have $200 Apple Gift Cards as the max denomination.

They used to sell variable cards. Maybe they all got raided yesterday.

Will check the Galeries and World Square after work today and report back.

    • JB does not sell higher denomination nor variable cards.

      • They used to…

Went to World Square and they have a $500 per person cap and only $50 and lower cards.

  • +1

This is absolute torture. Two days of 'transaction failed' with every combination possible. So dumb.

    • I've been trying since yesterday morning with no luck either. Every combination of email addresses, cards, and devices. I've spoken to cardholder services and they can confirm that theres no block on my cards. Very very fustrating.

      • Me too, and the website is saying it's the bank.

        • @ArtOfTheDeal are you still having issues with purchasing the ultimate gift cards? Which ones are you after? I accidentally purchased the “Shopping” one (Ikea, Temple&webster etc. )

If you’re looking for those I can help if interested.
          Let me know.

    • I had a transaction failed on my NAB card twice. Tried my ING card worked first go. Could be bank specific issue

      • Try doing it on your partner/friend's name and email (also change your address to any friend's) in safari (in phone browser with mobile data) $1000 per transaction.

      • Nah one of my cards is ING and that didnt work either

    • Same. My bank/Visa blocked my trasaction and called Coles, they said it would take at least 24 hours for it to clear. So you might want to try all new details and different card which worked for me.

    • Did mine through revolut without issue

  • Is it worth using the gift cards or converting them asap ie at JB
(Risk of them removing themselves from the UC?)

I was thinking holding off couple weeks to get new iphone

  • just want to caution- u can't swap these for JBHifi gift cards

    • serious question why would I want to swap for jbhifi when they're eligible to be used there anyway?

      • If you want to buy something online, you can use multiple JB GCs but can only use 1 ultimate GC

      • JB Hi-Fi could be removed at any time without notice. That happened last year for Ultimate Thanks gift cards during a 15% off sale.

      • I got an item price matched online- can’t use ULTIMATE cards on the price match payment checkout , but can use JBHIFI gift cards

Just one example why someone may need to do this

    • False, you definitely can. Have done so myself today.

      • Online or in store? There is no way to do this online

        • There is. Just. buy a regular gift card with it.

          • @Mistredo: Limit to 2 though, per 24 hours?

            • @Griffindinho: Seems so.

              • @Mistredo: That’s the issue- my gift card purchases are getting flagged as “fraud” just a PITA to deal with this

  • Silly question:

If I got a $500 Ultimate Home gift card,
I've only spent $400 at JB.

Can I use the remaining elsewhere?

  • Anyone has used multiple cards with Weber online?

  • If it is a Visa card, what is PCN and PIN for?

    • +1

PCN is the proxy card number. It is basically the unique identifier Blackhawk Network assigns to each of their gift card, which means you can check the balance and reach out to Blackhawk Network support without needing to provide the card number, CVV2, etc.

PIN is the Personal Identification Number, and is used to authorise a card-present transaction. You should not need to provide the PIN to authorise a purchase transaction if you paying using a mobile wallet, but you will probably need to provide the PIN to authorise a refund transaction (even if you presenting an Ultimate gift card from a mobile wallet).

  • +1

Hey guys, with Menulog because Menulog only allows one payment method to pay for an order, what do you do if the Ultimate Gift Card has an amount which is less than the order value (there’s no option for me to put in a 2nd payment method to pay for the remaining amount of the order value).

    • +1

I don't think there is any way around it. You will have to reduce your order amount to be under the gift card value. Then you will probably have a small leftover amount in the gift card that will get thrown away and go to waste.

  • -1

What is the period of validity for Ultimate Gift cards before Expiry?

Can one Utimate gift card balance be used across various retailers and/or used for various split payment transactions with a single retailor?

    • +1

      Says 2028 on mine.

  • latest update:

i called up the store and asked if i can pay with ultimate cards, they said yes absolutely,
went in person, selected the phone, time for payment, oops we cant do it, "but i called and you said you can" sorry we cant.. we cant enter the card details manually, and its not a JB gift card so we cant use it that way. wasted 30 mins driving to and back from store.

next step, Samsung pay, if unsuccessful its JB gift cards $500x2 everyday. will take me 4 days to complete.

    • How did you try to pay with phone? You mean showed them the image (card No and PIN)?
Did you try to pay using Google Wallet or Samsung Pay? I managed to add all my 3 cards to Google Wallet but it ask to verify but refuse to accept the PIN verification.
But I just managed to add them to Samsung Wallet and seems to be ok (but obviously did not try at store yet).

      • showed them the image, a few got it to work this way. and many other like me failed.
yes we want to add it to apple pay and google wallet but it gives error, the past 3 pages of comments are talking about this exact issue.
second last hope is samsung pay. if you added them to samsung pay go ahead and try what are you waiting for lol.

Im waiting for family member to get home at 5pm to try and add them to samsung. if it works ill pop into JB to see.
If not last hope is JB gift cards buying 2 a day (thats the limit).

  • Hey guys, surely for the ultimate home we can add it to google wallet and buy gift cards right? they should have coles myer meaning a 15% off coles?

    • Where can you buy Coles Myer that accepts Ultimate Home?

    • +1

      Good luck with that.

Officeworks published a policy on their website around December 2022 to say that you cannot use any gift cards of any sort to purchase any gift cards sold by them.

Officeworks also started pushing out updates to their instore checkouts in June 2023 to automatically block people from using physical Ultimate gift cards and Ultimate eGift Cards to purchase any gift cards.

  • Just went to Officeworks and tried to get some Apple Giftcards cards via Apple Pay and the terminal sent an error saying product mix error.

    • +1

They have blocked this method ages ago

      • Is it blocked at JB as well?

        • You can buy Giftcards for Apple at JB using suitable Ultimate Gift Cards. JB’s Gift Card terms and conditions
Clause 12: A Gift Card can be used to purchase another third party gift card e.g. Steam Gift Cards, Xbox Gift Cards, Google Play Cards. However, a Gift Card cannot be used to purchase another JB Hi-Fi branded gift card.

  • Still getting transaction failure right now - Rep at giftcard.com.au says they need IT department to investigate but error occurred from the 1st go so it's bs.

    • Try doing it on your partner/friend's name and email (also change your address to any friend's) in safari (in phone browser with mobile data) $1000 per transaction.

  • For those who have their transactions failed message, suggest you to get in contact with their customer support ASAP to provide the first 6 and last 4 digits of your CC, mine works after their IT provided an update through email.

    • Do you mean to buy them or to add them to Google wallet / apple pay?

      • To buy the Ultimate gift cards from Giftcards.com.au

    • How long did it take for them to respond?

      • Called them around 7pm last night, and got an email at 2:30pm today

    • I did all this and then they just said it was my bank. And then my bank said there were no issues and it was them. So it's just like, too bad, oh well. I think 100% it's the site.

    • Any email address for the support? Rather than calling? Thanks

I failed with NAB and AMEX essential, multiple attempts with both.

Bit the bullet and used my UP card, which worked straight away. Which annoyingly is cash, and no points.

Oh well, into Officeworks tomorrow to buy iPhone.

EDIT: Gift cards arrived within 6 minutes.

PSA FOR THOSE GETTING ORDER CANCELLED VIA JB ONLINE

You can simply email [email protected] with your cancelled order number and they will manually approve the card on their system and make you place the order again, after which it will work fine.

I emailed this morning after purchasing a few hundred worth trying to buy a JB gc with it to save me having to go instore but kept getting the verification failed issue.

Emailed them at ~8am, got a response barely an hour later and had the order processed successfully by 10am. I won't lie I was extremely surprised with how easy/quick it was as I had already planned to go instore during lunch but thought I might try emailing on the off chance they could sort it out before then.

Hopefully this helps someone out as I saw quite a few people mentioning their orders get cancelled online.

    • Would it be possible to buy multiple gift cards in a single day using this approach?

    • I had the opposite experience.

They told me no longer processing it and I had to do all payments in store.
And they couldn’t help me any further?

    • One of the UC keeps getting canceled by JB. I have waited 24 hours since the last purchase. I’ve sent the email and let’s see what they say.

      • What did you purchase? Usually that’s the fraud detection which kicks in if you try to buy gift cards with gift cards.

    • Thanks. I got the cancellation email as well, have sent them an email.

Thought I’d share my process in case it’s helpful to anyone.

I purchased 4 x $500 worth of gifts cards last night using chrome incognito abd my CBA debit card, and had no issues purchasing the cards. Cards came through within 10 minutes in separate emails.

I saw a lot of comments saying there were issues adding to apple wallet so I added each card to apple wallet slowly over the course of the night. Maybe one every 30mins-1 hr. Not sure if this made a difference at all but I was able to add all four cards in the end with no issues.

Went to JB hifi this afternoon and asked to preorder an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Asked if I could pay with separate cards and the customer rep just asked how much was within each card and I tapped away each ultimate gift card at the terminal. Was in and out of JB hifi within 10 minutes.

Maybe I was just lucky but the whole process was pretty smooth for me.

    • yeh its smooth once you add all the cards, thats what everyone is having issues with..

    • +1

chrome incognito + cba debit card worked for me last time and this time as well.

  • +1

I wasnt able to buy the cards via Google Chrome on my desktop. Kept on getting stuck at the payment screen.

Tried Safari instead on the mobile phone and that worked with no issues. Payments just went through but havent received any gift cards as yet.

Edit: Gift cards arrived within 10 mins.

  • added to google wallet, but it's keep ask for Verify card info. try to put the CVV as security code and still no luck. it's really bad design/process
email to support and waiting feedback

    • Same experience here, I however managed to download Samsung pay and added, seems to be active.
Please let us know how you go with google wallet.

      • Hi, dont need worry about "Verify card info" in google wallet. it can use without issue

    • same issue

    • confirmed dont need to "verify card info" and it's still can use in store.

      • Did you manage to use it online ? As I want to use it online but it requires verification first.

Was a bit worried seeing all the negative comments, had a failed transaction with my AMEX then tried again with my VISA and it went through.

A couple of minutes later I had the tax invoice, no pending charge on the AMEX, just the one on the VISA.

15 minutes later I had the gift cards.

Adding them to my wallet was painful but overall no complaints

  • 1 tiny speedbump with me but ultimately I've saved 15% off a $1500 purchase at JB so very happy right now.

Chrome on Windows 11. Initially the page didn't load after clicking the add to cart button, but a simple refresh and was smooth from then on.

Purchased 3 x $500 cards which were sent to my email within 30 mins. Added them to my apple wallet and used them to pay in a physical JB store.

  • For those saying you can't spend these at JB, can I buy 4x $500 and buy $2000 in apple giftcards? I know they accept physical cards when doing this, but people are running into issues with the digital card.

    • add the gc to applepay/googlepay, and then you can use it just like your regular bank card. They won't ask you how you're paying, and you don't need to tell them either. Most stores don't carry $500 Apple gc, so you'll need to buy eight $200 + four $100, just pay $500 for each transaction. I had problem adding them to apple wallet after 2 cards, so I borrowed my friend's android phone. Some people have this issue, some doesn't, and it only happens to apple wallet.

    • Yes, you can. I did that and no question was asked by them.

  • Update: Got a few Ultimate Home gc and emailed within 15 mins. No issues adding all to Apple wallet.

  • Does anyone know, how long does it take for the exchanged Uber gift card to come through? I have`done it on exchange portal, over an hour ago and yet to receive it in my email!

Does the ultimate home work at IKEA - i rmb they were on the retailer list but cannot see them listed as a retailer on the gift card picture when checking out. Thank for the help

  • When I checked in with CBA why my card was declining the transaction, they said it was because of my daily withdrawal limit and that this would count as a cash advance on my cba credit card

Doesn't sound right… It comes up as "Coles Supermarket". From what I see, it just seems that you did a massive shop at Coles.

Went back and forth with the seller and my bank, with the seller telling me they can see my attempts but my bank isn't sending me a verification pop up/code - to contact my bank - who then told me it's an issue with the seller and there's nothing on the banks end. Tried different cards, addresses, details, IPs, everything you can think of. Guess I'm not gonna get anything.

    • Its clearly an issue with the seller, our bank cards work everywhere else.

      • I had an issue once before with the verification code not coming through with Suncorp. There was some sort of protection blocking it on Suncorp end so they disabled something for 24 hours and then it worked.

    • Exactly same experience.

    • Are you looking for Ultimate “Shopping” by any chance? I accidentally bought the wrong cards… they won’t refund it sadly. Happy to organise something with you if stars aligned.

  • For those of you who had successful payment yesterday but still have not received the card, call them and ask them to resend the email (or provide the card number). I know my email attempt yesterday bounced (they were on a spam list), but it got through OK today. It wasn't on a public one (Yahoo, Gmail, etc.)

  • +1

Same "Transaction Failed" issue with Amex Platinum, Contacted Giftcards.com.au they said that AMEX is not sending the proper code when verifying. Amex says it shouldn't be possible as it would have not worked with other merchants as well.

Amex do have a valid point

    • Yeah I got this response too with a Visa Debit card. The bank said that wasn't true.

    • same experience! do you have a solution now?

      • no solution as of now. Giftcards.com.au says wait for an email.

  • Don’t see Uber or Uber Eats under the Ultimate Him card. Is there another gift card that supports this?

    • It’s supposed to with for Uber and Uber eats per the description but o just tried using it to pay for an Uber eats order but Uber eats kept denying payment

      • Damn. No other options?

        • You have to exchange the Ultimate GC for Uber card specifically I think

          • @Spawn Peak: Can you please guide me on how to go about it?

            • @DeeArrow: So the Ultimate GC official website for the "Him" card specifically lists Uber and Uber Eats, the GiftCards.com.au site for some reason doesn't include those two. But I confirmed it after purchase.

You then have to go to the Ultimate GC official website and click the Exchange portal to exchange your Ultimate GC for the card of your choosing, of which Uber and Uber Eats are available options.

  • Anyone had issues trying to use an ultimate him for Uber eats? I’ve tried using my card via Apple Pay and also tried to add as a payment method but keep getting payment declined or invalid payment method errors.

    • I think you have to swap it for Uber gift cards using the Ultimate GC website

      • Ah, thanks. Wasn’t very clear in the instructions that we needed to do that

  • How long does the gift card exchange take for Uber gift cards specifically, if anyone has done that already? I got my Ultimate GC pretty quickly (within 20 minutes after receiving my tax invoice) in comparison.

    • It took about an hour and a half for anyone who also buys this.

  • Does anyone know how JB check and apply the limit on the 2 GC purchase online?

Surely if your info (email mobile etc.) is different enough, it cant possible track that its the same person?

    • This is what I'm worried about, not gonna order until I get reassurance that I can get atleast 4 jb gc.

  • Can the ones with Nike and Adidas be used online or in-store only?

  • +1

Thanks op for post. Went in store and used the 4 gift cards to pre purchase iPhone. Was nice and easy. Got my gift cards within 30 minutes. Purchased with nab credit card.

  • +3

Samsung wallet works confirmed. used a family members phone and bought 2 iPhone's today, apple pay did not work and google wallet did not work, only Samsung worked.
Samsung saved the day i was just about ready to do a chargeback with these clowns..

    got a 15 base 128gb black ready for tomorrow,$1275
and 15 pro max 256gb black not ready until 3-4 weeks (for me) $1870

all with %15 off on launch day, you would probably not see these prices until its 11 months after launch.
ill also try to sell my ip11 256gb for $370 so effectively my total cost for a 15 pro max would come down to $1500 which is the cost of a base model iphone.

  • Does JB sell variable Apple GC’s? Ie can you get one card with $200 on it?

    • No, $200 highest.
And a lot of stores sold out of them

    @BargainsGrabber:
I have just sorted issue with ANZ cards. Talked to their cyber team and re-categorised this website from dodgy to groceries. ANZ cards should work now.

  • Has anyone with a Westpac card made it passed the sms code check?

Title says one order per customer, if I don't want risk, how can I order $1000 at first , and another $1000 later after confirming first $1000 converts to JB GC ? Thanks.

  • I had no issues today to buy $500 apple gift card at JB Castle Hill using the ultimate him card using applepay.

    • thanks for sharing. Is there $500 apple gift card denomination at JB? I thought a few people here say max is 200 at JB.

      • Correct - $200+$200+$100

  • +2

guys, check the apple gift cards from jbhifi, one of mine has sticky tape instead of the usual seal. balance was ok, but went to apple store and swapped the balance to a new card just in case.

    • Can you share what this process of swapping is?

Can I take small denomination cards and put them on 1 large denomination?
      I.e 5x200 to 1x1000 ?

  • So, I purchased an Ultimate Him card. Tried to use it on 99 Bikes website, the payment got declined. Did anyone else have the same problem? What should I do?

    • In store only I believe

      • in store only - source: personal experience

      • When I phoned 99 Bikes customer service I was told I could use one UGC online, multiple in store. I never tried online. It looks like I was misinformed.

      • No, what happenned was I tried using it immidiately upon receipt, but it was not active then this was why it did not work then. Worked this morning.

        • So just to confirm, do you mean it did work online for you? Could be handy as I might get them to price match some things.

          • @raisinberry777: Yes, did work. There is a catch though - you can not buy the GC to cent value, so would need to round to "their side" to whole dollars.

  • Ordered 1500 of the Ultimate home gc, received it 7 mins later (used a Bendigo Bank CC)

    • Bought 5 x500 and got them all emailed in 8 minutes. Paid using Westpac card via chrome browser on Android phone.

  • +1

    Hi, can someone assist.

I plan to buy 5x500 Ultimate GC to buy the new iPhone 15 Pro Max 256 GB in December. Plan is to order within 60 days of travelling overseas in early Jan for additional savings by claiming gst.

From what I have read in the above comments, am I correct is saying that, I’ll have to add the cards on to my Apple Pay and physically walk into a JB HIFI store to purchase the iPhone. I may have to visit the store multiple times as the store may not have the phone in stock. Is that correct?

Also I cannot use split payment using Ultimate Home card on JB website to order the phone online. Is this correct?

Also, there is no way to use the Ultimate Home gift card to be used online at JB to make the purchase, is this correct?

    • +1

You could also get Apple gift cards from JB using the Ultimate GC (just don’t tell them it’s a gift card) and then use that to buy from Apple directly

    • +3

You can add the GC to Apple Pay and then use it at jbhifi stores to purchase Apple gc, just like using a regular bank card. Once you've bought the cards, redeem them to your Apple id. After that, you can use the balance in your Apple account to buy an iPhone on the Apple website.

However, there's an issue with Ultimate GC and Apple Wallet. An "invalid card" error might occur after adding 1-2 cards to Apple Wallet. It depends on your luck. I faced this issue too, so I borrowed my friend's phone. If you have friends with GooglePay/ApplePay who are willing to add the GC for you and accompany you to the store, you'll be fine.

If you insist on buying an iphone at JBHIFI store, just use the ultimate gc to purchase the JBHIFI giftcards.

    • +2

You can use 1x $500 Ultimate GC to buy 1x $500 JB Hifi gift card in a transaction. 2 transactions a day. Do this over 2 days.
Once you've done this, you can use an (almost) unlimited amount of JB cards in a transaction online and up to 1 Ultimate GC.

I bought a iPhone 15 using 2x $500 JB cards (purchased using Ultimate GCs) and the remaining $499 on another Ultimate GC.

  • Just got an email from customer service after calling this morning, my card had been blocked, they lifted the block and it worked straight away.

All the people who are getting transaction error it is 100% their fault, call customer service and get it unblocked.

15% off a iPhone 15 PM pretty happy with that , hopefully dont have to wait to long for stock

Was able to load them all into google wallet no problem, hopefully work fine tomorrow.

  • +1

Just to share my experience - also had the 'Authentication Failed' issue when adding the GCs to Google Wallet. Wasn't able to validate the CVC as it just showed an error message. Was able to use 2 different GCs at Officeworks in a split payment, using contactless and Google Wallet.

    Good outcome!

    • So just to confirm - you could still pay with the GCs using Google Pay even though it had the "Authentication Failed" error?

      • +2

Yes, exactly - I removed and added the GCs a few times but never got rid of the Authentication Failed error.

No dramas using the GCs with Google Wallet at the Officeworks terminal.

Seem to be stuck at the Payment detail screen for me. Both on Chrome and Safari…. maybe third time is a charm… IE aka. Edge, here i come

    • Had issues with all the browsers. Luckily i had an instance of firefox running via a VPN server… the transaction went through smoothly. Paid using a CBA Mastercard and now waiting for the gift cards to come through

  • I’ve tried Zippay, ANZ DC, Citi CC, Macquarie DC, Qudos DC. Still get same transaction failed error…

    • I used Revolut visa card and had no issues if that helps

Question: say I add 2x $500 ultimate gift cards to my google wallet and want to buy something from JB HI FI for $1000. Will using google pay for this allow me to do it in one transaction?

    • +3

I did in store the other day. Left the staff know, do a split transaction $500 each and tap your phone using google wallet to pay.

      • Thanks!!

      • So you got the GC to work on Google wallet even though it says verification required ?

  • Bought 3x $500 just now and added them into Apple Wallet np one after the other! Good deal 😎

  • Anyone tried online purchase with temple and Webster? Enter GC details like cc number? Thanks

  • Ultimate Him doesn't show the Uber/Uber eats logo. Where do I confirm if it's applicable for Uber eats?

    • Ultimate Gift Cards website

  • I bought $500 and used it to purchase $500 PlayStation cards from JB Hi-Fi. Cards came within 10 minutes.

  • anyone having trouble using these at Officeworks this morning?

    • What is the issue? are you using at store or online and are you using the image of ultimate card or loaded on your to pay with apple pay/google pay?

    • Officeworks is still an eligible retailer on the Ultimate cards

Were you trying to purchase a third party gift card? If so, that has been blocked by the system ages ago

      • just trying to buy a computer- tried both instore and online- no workie- trying multiple browsers as well.

getting an error "There was an error processing your order. Please try again or contact customer service centre on 1300 OFFICE (633 423)." called them and they said not our problem- talk to the gift card people.

rang giftcards, who referred me on to the ultimate gift cards people, who only have an automated system and no way to speak to a human.

I had no dramas using any of this yesterday, and it all worked well for buying an iPad at Officeworks.

When I check my balance, it shows the amounts correctly. I've also successfully added the cards to my Apple wallet as well, which suggests that they are valid.

I have no idea what to do now - any suggestions? Do I just asked for a refund?

        • +2

When you call the gift cards number select the "I want to report travelling overseas" option. That seems to be the only option that would direct you to humans (or really advanced ai)

          • @krisspy: thank you. yes I finally got through to someone- problem solved (as below)!!

            • @derdew: im having issues how did you get this solved??
There was an error processing your order. Please try again or contact customer service centre on 1300 OFFICE (633 423).

              • @Rukiata: the item you are buying needs to cost less than the card value, otherwise it won't work. if it costs more, then go into the store and do split transactions of smaller amounts. good luck!

  • +1

Just had issues with converting Ultimate card to JB Hifi gift cards. Purchase a $100 JB GC initially, which went fine.
Did 2 separate transactions to purchase 2x $500 JB GCs, both transactions went fine, but received emails shortly to mention orders have been cancelled.

The email states "Unfortunately, your recent order of $500.00 has failed our verification process and been cancelled."

They have provided an email address to contact the verificatiom team for this issue ([email protected]). But not sure how long they take to respond back.

    • +2

There’s nothing to worry about, that’s just the fraud detection kicking in for suspicious activity

Give it some time or email the team and they will lift the block as some users reported on this thread

    • normal stuff. Just add it to the samsung wallet n convert to gc in store.

      • +1

Guessing adding the Ultimate gift cards individually to Apple Pay/Google Wallet and using to pay in store will be a good alternate ? iPhone user here, so Apple Pay for me.

        • +1

many users (including me) had issue adding more than 2 cards to the apple wallet. Google wallet also has issues. no problem adding it to the samsung wallet n buying from the store.

or, you could try to buy from the jbhifi website n enter the UC details in the credit card section n buy it. it may work for 1 or 2 orders, next orders will be cancelled due to riskified check.

          • +1

@shanlee: I had no issues adding 4x Ultimate GCs to my Apple Wallet. And 2x JB Hifi GCs.

            Thanks.

Not sure if this has been answered. Could someone please share their experience on how one can purchase above the max limit of $2,500 gc? I would like to purchase $5,000. Do I use the same account and same credit card on each transaction? Or a separate account and different credit and debit card on each transaction?

    • +2

Just use two different email addresses, everything else can be the same. It worked for me.

    • +2

      Separate account works fine

    • +3

if you have a gmail account, just add a full stop anywhere in the email address and it will take it as being different and the emails will still be delivered as gmail ignores fullstops.

      • WoW I never new this trick. I just sent from my yahoo email to my gmail email with a dot and received it.

        • +2

Or add a + after your username

For example, your main email is abc@gmail, you can do abc+123@gmail and abc+random@gmail. All will go to your main abc@gmail

    • +1

I just use the same email, same credit card to pay, same everything, $5,000 purchased over 3 orders. I'm not sure how do they limit 1 order/$2500 per customer.

  • +6

The card provider really needs to get their act together. 15% is a great discount but you really have to work for it. I just wanted to buy something at JB, online.

    1. Spent nearly an hour trying to order - unable to checkout, with various error codes.
    2. Ordered later successfully - 2 x $500 cards. Invoice received but waited over 3 hours for the cards.
    3. Added cards to Google Wallet. It states "To use your card online, verify card info", which requires typing in the CVV (again) and clicking "update". This comes back with "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try later". Happens every time. This is ridiculous.
    4. Want to order an item for $1300 at JB Fi. It's not possible to do online because these are VISA cards and you can't split payment.
    5. Followed the advice on this thread to purchase JB gift cards. Order went through but then later, cancelled.
    6. Read that to sort this requires emailing the fraud department and getting the block lifted. Jeez.
    7. Tried instead to place my order online using these as gift cards, with the long 19 digit number and PIN. System does accept the last digit.
    8. In the end I added the cards to Apple Wallet, took both phones on a trek to the store. Finally made my purchase using contactless Google wallet, split payment.

These cards are advertised as use online or in-store but the online part is deeply flawed and you have to revert to workarounds, which clearly don't always work either.

The whole thing is way more hassle than it should be.

    • sorry, are you saying that you can't use multiple cards to purchase an item of greater value?

      • +1

yes is the answer!! finally got it to work instore by splitting my transaction into smaller amounts!! thanks again for the heads up gadgeguy!!

      • Online, that's correct, You cannot do this. Only way is to purchase gift cards, but as I said above, this is also problematic.

    • When you use multiple cards instore for pay for a phone, do you have to enter PINs for each card ? I have 6 gift cards locaded into my Apple Wallet now.

      • +2

You need to ask the sales person to split the payment into 6. Then for each payment/card tell them how much. When ready then on Google Pay just tap and pay with the first card. No PIN required. I suspect similar for Apple Pay.

Then move on to the next card and so on.

    • I bought 2 Ultimate GC and I experienced the same issue while trying to purchase JB Hi-Fi GC (order cancelled). Can I just add the Ultimate GC to my Google Wallet and use them to purchase stuff in JB Hi-Fi store ? (sorry noob here, which one should I choose when adding the Ultimate GC to my Google Wallet ? I saw options like Payment Card, Transit Pass, Loyalty, and Gift Card ?) Thanks.

      • +1

Can I just add the Ultimate GC to my Google Wallet and use them to purchase stuff in JB Hi-Fi store ?

That should be fine, except there have been a few reports of people getting stuck on a card verification step when trying to add an Ultimate gift card to Google Wallet (as pointed out in the comment you replied to).

which one should I choose when adding the Ultimate GC to my Google Wallet ? I saw options like Payment Card, Transit Pass, Loyalty, and Gift Card ?

        Payment Card.

Ultimate gift cards are prepaid Visa gift cards that are restricted to specific participating retailers. If you think about it, when you add a supported Visa debit/credit card to Google Wallet, you choose Payment Card.

    • Going through a similar nightmare right now. Regretting everything.

    • Did you ever get the "To use your card online, verify card info" thing to work? I cannot. Not sure if this affects in-store usability?

      • Update - I just tried it in-store & it worked like a charm, despite that "verify card info" message remaining.

  • Can I get 2 ultimate cards and use 2 to checkout online for a single product? e.g. 649 apple watch at JB Hifi, can i use a 149 and 500 ultimate card in the one transaction online?

    • +1

No, as this is a prepaid visa egift card

You gotta convert it into the relevant store gift card first

      • Can i convert 2 ultimates to a single JB Gift card of $649?

        • +1

No. Go in store, you can do split payment there.

          • @capslock: I bought two jb gift cards using the 2 ultimates. Then added the 2 jb cards to my online order. Worked ok a bit of stuffing around tho.

  • (profanity) gift cards lol

was going to buy some shoes from Nike for $190.. so got a card for that amount.

Forgot about the shipping of $10…. 'card cant use split payments and need to be equal or lower value' #fml

So cant use it now :( have to use it for something else or try and get a refund mowwwww :(

    • Why not just buy a $10 Nike gift card so that you still can use your Ultimate egift card?

      • That's what i ended up doing with Total Tools as the things I wanted were all above $500. Worked fine

      • They don't do gift cards online.

Also, the (profanity) don't accept the cards for online purchases either… So fighting with them to get a refund now :/

Bit dodgy that its not clear what sites are and are not eligible for online vs instore.

        • Bit dodgy that its not clear what sites are and are not eligible for online vs instore.

I just had a look at the Ultimate gift card website (which is the source of truth for participating retailers of the Ultimate gift card scheme), and the webpages for the Active & Wellness, Her, Him, Style/Shopping and Teens gift cards all clearly say that Nike only accepts Ultimate gift cards instore.

I have never seen Nike listed on the Ultimate gift card website as accepting Ultimate gift cards on their online store.

Day 3 of Transaction Failed. None of the alleged solutions by the banks and site did anything.

  • First day bought fine, now go to buy again on the SAME card, get the verification sms, gets approved then: Transaction failed, please contact customer service.

Tried on separate CC get sms verification: Transaction failed, please contact customer service.

    • Nothing to do with credit cards.. just need different person to buy it for you.

Ask a friend to buy it and it works fine with my own credit card.

  • Hello, I am a new to using these gift cards and was wondering if someone could please help me out
I am wanting to purchase from IKEA. When I am on the giftcards.com.au site, where it asks select card value can I just put the amount I need in 'other' box for eg. $479?
And once I purchase the card do I go to the https://www.ultimategiftcards.com.au/ and exchange it for an IKEA gift card?
Sorry if the questions are silly but I have never done this before and can't afford to stuff this up

    • Yes - but i'd suggest you get 500 gift card because when you exchange to Ikea gift card, they only do up to 200 max/card. So you'll need to get 2 x 200 and 1 x 100. Either that or 450 (2 x 200 and 1 x 50)

    • I suggest you read this earlier comment in this deal, because it will tell you in detail how Ultimate gift cards work for IKEA.

  • I was able to buy 5x $500 home gift cards, although had to use my WBC debit card as ANZ credit card kept getting blocked. The browser I used was google chrome if that's of interest.

Converted 2 into JB HiFi gift cards with no issues, but then was unable to convert more due to the 24hr restriction mentioned a few times in this thread.

I had no dramas loading the remaining Ultimate cards into Samsung wallet.

Went to JB today to pre order the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB. First person I spoke to insisted I needed to buy online via JB direct and they could not process the transaction instore. Called BS and spoke to someone reasonable who processed the order at one of the terminals. Told him straight up I was paying via a mix of JB cards and ultimate home cards, no issues at all and he preferred it to some of the people that have turned up with 20+ gift cards.

  • Hey guys, I’ve bought two cards that value $500 and $220 because I want Jbhifi to price match a TV for $720 that they currently have selling for $799.

I’ve added them to my Apple Wallet.

Is it as simple as heading into my local store, getting the price match done, and then saying I’ll be paying by card but using two cards, and then proceeding to pay via my Apple Wallet?

Will I run into any difficulties? 🙃

    • +1

get them to split the transaction to your 2 gift card sizes

    • Okay an update: I purchased one JB gift card for $500.

So from what I’ve read I can just go in store and use split payment of my jb giftcard and the $220 ultimate gift card in my Apple Wallet? 🙂

  • Caved in and did a purchase via Chrome Incognito, thankfully all smooth of 1x $500 HOME and 1x $500 TEEN (just for store variation) in one transaction, used Commbank’s STEPPAY card so I dont have to pay $850 upfront.
Wasn’t gonna buy $2500 and in case faced with difficulty funds in limbo.

  • +1

    [email protected] wasn't very helpful.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept pre-paid visa cards through our online store, if you would like to continue with your purchase, you will need to do this in-store.

This is due to high velocity of purchases in a short period of time and each will continue to decline, especially as different pre-paid cards are being redeemed.

I just waited a bit more and was able to buy another JB Hi-Fi Gift Card online.

Having to go through all this, I don't think I ever will buy Ultimate Gift Cards again unless there is 15% discount or more. Too much hassle…

  • will this count towards (minimum spend on credit cards) to fufill credit card promotion?

    • This depends on the T&C of your card, but generally gift cards do not qualify for meeting minimum spend criteria.

      • -1

        Huh?
Gift card purchase = money spent
If your gift card has a minimum spend requirement, this is very likely going to be fine.. Unless "giftcards.com.au" is specifically excluded, however if you purchased gift cards at Coles/Woolies there is no way the credit card company can read your purchases and find out they are gift cards vs. groceries

  • any tricks on how to check out? I keep getting "Transaction failed, please contact customer service."

    • Try a different card(another bank), make sure you check they didn't charge your failed transaction.

    Thanks OP!

Added card to wallet no problem, it didn't ask for PIN, would I be asked for the PIN when I pay at the store?

    • +1

It didn't ask for a pin for me. Just tap and pay as you ordinarily would.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Just grabbed 2x $500 cards, added them to my wallet within 10 mins. Saved $150 for my new phone.

    • Which phone you buying?

      • iPhone 15 Pro Max at Apple tomorrow.

Just went into JB to buy $1K worth in 2 transactions. Easy as.

        • Why not buy phone from JB and wouldn't you need at least $2000?
I bought 3x$500 and thinking to upgrade from Galaxy 10 to iPhone 15 pro, may be I need another $500

          • @huntabargain: I would have, but they had no stock of the 15 Pro Max in any colour. I have a reservation at Apple tomorrow for the colour I really wanted, so nothing lost.

  • Bought the GCs this morning, received them within 5 mins.

Just visited JB HIFI in Hurstville NSW and put down the full payment for an iPhone 15 PM.

    No issue whatsoever.

Unless you are adamant you will have to buy through Apple, this works great. Thanks OP for sharing.

    • What card did you use? I've tried every combo and it just wont process. I'm still awaiting a response from their IT department…

      • I used a uBank debit/credit card. Had to go through a text verification but otherwise no problem.

        • My uBank wont work at all even after verificaiton :/

  • Can anyone help with how to use these jbhifi online, as the giftcard option doesn’t work. I am trying to buy iphone 15 pro max

    • +1

Head into store and place an order, which is what I did.

Assuming you have added the gift card to Apple/google pay.

Just keep things simple and say you want to split payment.

  • +1

wondering if this deal has made more people to buy or bring forward their Iphone 15 and other purchases?

  • Do you add Card number or PCN number to Google Wallet?

Bought successfully with Commbank credit card.

    • you can use the camera to add or enter details manually, use CARD no and CVV 3 digit.

  • +3

OK just wanted to share my experience here in case some of you are on the fence. I read through 15 pages of everyone's comments and negative experiences before I thought I'd give it a go.

Got the Ultimate Home. First time I tried to pay I was met with a Transaction Fail, please contact customer service. I gave up for about a few mins and then decided to give it another go. It went through.

Tried to add it to my usual Google Wallet, met with an error. I tried again but this time with the email I used when purchasing the cards. Also I used the camera on my phone to add the card (although this shouldn't make any difference since it only scans the card number) to add all 3 cards ($500 each). Wasn't prompted for any verification code.

Nervously went down to Total Tools and wanted to buy the Festool I've been eyeing off along with some other accessories. Told the guy at the counter I needed to do split payments in 3 cards of $500 each because they have limits. It all worked and went through. I'm not going to upload the photo of my receipts so you're just going to have to take my word for it.

Best of luck to the rest of you! Happy camper here and in true blue style, you've got to just give it a go!

    • Hey mate, do you only add the card number and pin to the Google wallet ?

      • Yeah just the card number (not PCV) and CVV not pin Basically like how you enter a VISA or MasterCard

  • I know it says one per customer… is this tied to address/card or phone or something?
I can prob name my partner or family etc. but was wanting to get maybe 7500 worth or so

    • You should be able to purchase multiple GCs separately. I know it says one transaction per customer, and I had a scare myself earlier, but I did buy a $100 just to work out the whole process, as I didnt want to risk purchasing the whole sum. Once I was happy, I made another purchase with the rest of the amount. And it went fine as well.

      • yeah my worry is pushing the 2500 limit twice over etc.
definately don't want to have things cancelled on me after the fact.

    • +3

I just use the same email, same credit card to pay, same everything, $5,000 purchased over 3 orders. I'm not sure how do they limit 1 order/$2500 per customer.

    • +1

I bought $5799 worth across three orders and have successfully spent them all at 99bikes. All used same email address, etc.

      • expensive bike?

        • Yeah, was waiting for a discount on a particular eMTB and this made me pull the trigger.

  • One way to use specific amounts/remaining balances/etc. on your Ultimate GC is to use custom GCs, for example Macquarie Marketplace sells JB Hi-Fi GCs of any amount from $20 to $1500.

I gave up on buying a JB Hi-Fi GC online, it worked once yesterday but not since.

  • Back and forth and back and forth with the website and my banks….

Far out, it's obviously an issue on their website but they refuse to acknowledge or fix it. It's getting to the point it's almost not worth the hassle.

  • Hey All

Am trying to purchase a $2200 gift card which comes down to $1870. I get to the step 3, Payments Section and the wheel just spins..
    I have tried on 3 x different browsers…
    Can anyone advise?

    • +1

Okay so update from me, Ive tried on my mobile phone now and I could get through and enter my payment details. I am trying to use AMEX, and just started with a 1x $100 card incase any difficulties arise. Well, lo and behold, the transaction doesnt go through. It says " Transaction Failed, please contact customer service"

  • Purchased but wondering if an ultimate HOME card can be used at outlets listed under ultimate him for example?

  • I've been trying all morning and same issue - verifies my card then says transaction failed. I called their customer support line and they said it was an issue with my Bank not verifying… I told them I was paying via Zip Pay so had nothing to do with my bank.. Even went through my Zip app and same issue - problem definitely at their end

    • Yeah I have been getting the same feedback, that it's supposed to be my bank. My banks have said it's absolutely not, it's the site.

    • Hi, I contacted Zip pay and they advised they do not support the purchase of gift cards with their virtual credit card from other retailers. They want you to buy it through their app.

  • hey guys, how can I pay with google pay without NFC ( tap option ) on my phone ?
    thank you

  • I guess it's ended now. Tried to pay but got rejected a few times. Now it's showing the full price to me.

    • Nope discount still shows at checkout for me :)

  • same card, transaction wernt through 2 days ago, gift cards all good, wanna purchase another 2500, same CC, transaction failed, WTF

  • Okay so update from me, Ive tried on my mobile phone now and I could get through and enter my payment details. I pre-ordered an iPhone from JB store as following:
    - Purchased Ultimate home GC
    - Added them to apple wallet
    - Paid in 5 separate transactions instore at JB HiFi to pre-order the iPhone.

    HTH

Edit: Used St George Visa CC to purchase the GCs. It took 5 minutes for the GCs to arrive in the email.

    • Good for you.. many (including me) weren't able to add more than 2 UCs to the apple wallet. Samsung wallet came as a saviour though.

  • +2

    Update on my experience -

Order 5X $500 Ultimate Home GC. Used Safari private browsing (on iPhone). The process went super smooth. No issues.

Got the receipt within 2mins and all the 5 GC within 10mins.

Followed the step by step process to add each GC onto Apple Pay, went through in one go. No issues at all.

Note - while adding it will ask for the card number and a security number. The security number is the CCV number.

    Overall smooth process.

Next up, planning to go to JB later today and get few Apple gift cards. Let’s see if that works.
Goal - Buy iPhone 15 Pro Max and AirPods Pro 2 in Dec before international travel and claim 10% GST.

    • +2

any advantage of buying IP15PM from apple store vs JB? May be you could get better price or discounted apple care from JB?

      • +1

Only advantage to buy from Apple is I can order online from the Apple website.

With JB, I cannot order online as it doesn’t not allow split payment using Ultimate card and the only option is to walk in to buy the phone and that will depend on the stock availability.

      • The other advantage is sometimes Apple store/Education store has cashback.

        • +1

But afaik iPhones not on the education store?

    • hi, when did you purchase the card? thx

      • Right when I added the message to this thread around half an hour back today (3:45pm).

    • Can we buy Apple gift card using Ultimate gift card? How? thank you.

    • Tip: best to buy at the airport, rather than claim back at the airport - will be a super long queue

  • Can I buy GC's in Life rewards through Home UGC's?

Tried several times with bank card. Transaction failed contact support.

Contacted support - It's your bank not honouring the charge.
Contacted Bank - It's their system, no reason for dishonour.
Tried with zip, got code, same error.
Re-Contact Support - It's your bank not us. We also don't accept zip.

    This site is a joke.

    • Exactly the same responses for me too.

    • I bought 5% off JB e gift cards earlier in life rewards with HSBC debit card, but other cards haven't worked for me either.
I hope it works with Ultimate GC's

    • Me:
      Transaction failed contact support.
Bank contacted: verified and approved, should be ok after 30m
After 30m: Transaction failed contact support.
Contacted support: it is your bank, 3DS issue
Contacted bank: No problem at all. It is thier system
Contacted support: I will forward to technical team
Technical team: resolved problem, should be ok after 24hrs
      After 24hrs = Transaction failed
Too much effort to give some body money…

Just bought 4 x $500 Ultimate Home GC with Commbank Mastercard so i can go to JBHIFI and pick up an iPhone. Took 5mins to buy and another 10misn for the emails to come through with the cards. Another 10mins to add each one manually to Apple Wallet. Just wish there was a way to name each one so i know which is which when im in store!

    • You can use the last four digits to tell them apart.

  • Question: I have $28 remaining on my Ultimate GC. Can I purchase an additional $22 gift card to get a $50 Apple GC and ask the Jbhifi cashier to do a split payment on a single transaction for me?

And does anyone know if I can use Apple GC to purchase AppleCare+ in-store.

    • +1

Yes. But i got told if you just purchased a new device it has a default 7 day apple care coverage so need to buy after that. It wouldnt allow me to use apple account credit.

  • Just tried buying the Ultimate Home GC on Google Chrome on my phone, after the payment verification it says, "Transaction failed, please contact customer service".

Called the customer service and they said it is a known issue with many users and the IT team will get back to me within 1-2 business days. This is so frustrating though ngl

    • does the payment get deducted in this case

      • Mostly it doesn't, it's a common issue faced by many users

    • Try disabling ad blocker if any and give a try.

    • same thing happen to me. dont know why

  • Are they blocking the use of coles digital master card to purchase this giftcards?

  • Tried two credit cards(mastercard and amex) to get $2k worth of GCs, both had the same error (contact customer service). But instantly went through after using an Up Debit.

  • +5

    Great offer for most retailers.

I would caution against buying it for Hellofresh, it will automatically remove all discounts existing on your hellofresh account.
It does not treat gift cards as cash equivalent.

Have lodged a complaint and honestly might lodge a complaint with the ACCC for misleading conduct.

  • hi all

    i purcahsd 2x $500 utimate him GC,

why dopppl then convert into jb hifi?

i plan to buy ps5 on behalf of my son

    • Just to use it online as well. If buying in-store, no issues of this extra work

  • ok i can see why for jbhi

i redeemed my first $500 ultimate awards card fir jbhifi

just tried twice for my second ultimate card for jbhifi and it keeps getting cancelled - twice. any idea?

    • Try after 24 hrs.

    • Didd you buy jb hifi card online?

    • I couldn't even get one to work, says payment declined :(

  • I managed to buy over $5k worth of cards across three transactions with no issues. The 12th card took 24 hours before I could install it into Apple pay.

    • Is this with the same payment card, or 3 different payment cards?

      • Same payment card.

All have been successfully spent in one transaction this morning.

  • Also been trying and have had every transaction fail. Boo.

    • Same. Very frustrating

    • Keen to know if this works…

      • Keen to know as well

        • +1

I had success getting Apple Giftcards at JB!! THANK YOU OP!

I tried Officeworks first and they recognised that I was trying to use a giftcard and the payment didn’t go through.

No issues at JB at all. Just tap and go per normal eftpos transaction with Apple Pay. They were happy to split the payments too. No need for a pin even for $500 payments.

The only issue is to find a JB with Giftcards with large denominations. The first JB I went to only have $30 cards.

JB has a $1000/per person per day policy. I had to get a friend to assist me with getting enough Giftcards for an iPhone.

All the best to everyone else!

PS: make sure you load all the Giftcards to you Apple account before purchasing - this overcomes the 8 Giftcards per transaction restriction

    • Any reason for not buying the iphone directly from jb hifi?

    • That will not work. The max denomination is $200, and you can’t use more than 8 gift cards with Apple.

    • I went to buy a iPhone 15 Pro Max at Apple yesterday using Apple gift cards I bought from previous deal. The Apple staff advised me that the max number of gift cards that could be used in a transaction is 7.

      • +1

The Apple staff advised me that the max number of gift cards that could be used in a transaction is 7.

        Incorrect, it's 8:

        https://www.apple.com/au/shop/help/gifting#:~:text=You%20can….

"You can use up to eight Apple Gift Cards for one transaction at apple.com and the Apple Retail Store."

The easy way around this is to add the cards to your Apple Account. You can have up to AU$4,999 on your Australian Apple Account Associated Balance at any one time.
Then you can mix payments: https://www.apple.com/au/shop/help/payments

Using more than one payment method
You can also combine payment methods to pay for your purchase. Choose from the following combinations of credit cards and Apple Gift Cards:

        Credit card
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight + one credit card
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight + Apple Account Balance
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight + Apple Account Balance + one credit card
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight + Apple Pay
Apple Gift Card(s) - up to eight + Apple Account Balance + Apple Pay
Apple Account Balance + one credit card
Apple Account Balance + Apple Pay

        • Pretty sure the online store limit is 8, but if you’re gonna buy through the Apple Store anyway you should add all the Giftcards on your apple account balance so you’re not affected by the giftcard limit.

          • @Munnie: I thought you couldn’t use your account balance for in store purchases? Some had successes in the past but I’m not sure you can still do it now.

        • I kinda remember the limit was 8 but two (yes two, not one) of the Apple staff told me the gift card limit was 7 and the girl who handled my order reminded me again that the limit was 7. I brought 5 of $500 GCs with me and I was going to use just 5 anyway so I didn’t ask her to double check.

Can this add to google wallet and then tap and pay in different retailers in store? Or just online payment?

    • +3

In theory yes, but many people reporting that google wallet asking to verify card before using on-line, and when clicking to verify and enter CVV, it says error. So not clear if you actually need to verify before using in store or not. But I and others reported you can enter in Samsung Pay with no issue.

      • Thank you. And why do they need address details when this is egift card?

        • +1

  • Has anyone used multiple Home cards to pay for an order at TGG on call ?

Do we need to activate cards received in email immediately Or can be delayed?

    • +1

      It can be delayed

      • Thanks, does it increase the validity? And any info on how long the activation can be delayed

        • +2

No, all Ultimate eGCs sold this month expires 9/28. If you activate it next month, it is still with the same date, not 10/28. I have done it for a similar eGC by Blackhawk before.

  • Are you allowed to make multiple separate transactions on one card, or does it have to be all in one transaction?

    • Multiple transactions can be done

  • Can anyone advice if you can use these gift cards for JB Hifi online purchase? Most of the comments talk about pick up in store using apple pay split payment.
i.e. I plan to buy 4x $500 and 1x$50 for an online purchase of an iphone 15 pro 215gb(and then collect or ship I havent decided yet)

    • No you cant use this gift cards online, you would have to go instore to use them.

    • +1

If online, only one card can be used and if in store, multiple cards can be used

  • Just tried to use a 500 ultimate gift card on JB Hi-fi website to convert into JB Hi-fi gift cards like others have done. I put in the CC number on UGC, out in the expiry and used my name, but card declined. Did I do something wrong? I was in incognito mode on my phone.

    • Most probably. I faced cancellations but transactions always went through.

    • It's their fraud detection algo. It seems really sensitive lately (happens every time I try to use 10$ sign up voucher with a new fake email/cheap second sim number after orignal phone # can't sign up for perks more than 2x). Just go into the store and you'l be able to use the cards to purchase JB stuff (also if you show them the bar code for the 10$ sign up on a new email, itll work rather than get blocked by the fraud algo, if you want to save a tiny more)

Update: Can anyone else who has trouble adding Ultimate or Activ (Blackhawk cards, like myself) - update your iOS to the newer 17.0.1 or 16.7 and try adding the card again. See if it works. For the first time, I’m able to add an additional card in over 1-2 weeks.

I wanted to confirm it’s not a fluke.

    • Updated my iPhone 11 to 17.0.1 and attempted to add my ultimate cards and got 'invalid card' error again. Tried Samsung wallet on my work phone and works flawlessly. There appears to be a time restriction on certain wallets for some reason?

    • Same, I have also updated to the newer IOS and the Apple Wallet is showing the "Invalid Card Error", don't know when it will be fixed.

      • +1

I see. It worked differently for me. Newer card seems to add. Older cards is still unable.

    • Updated to iOS 17.1 last night, re-added Ultimate Home cards with no issues.

  • Transaction failed on the 1st try, immediately received a text from my bank saying a transaction was blocked due to suspicious activity and asking me to confirm it was me, confirmed over text and card was unblocked, tried again and transaction went through, GCs received within 10 mins. I imagine GC purchases are considered high risk and it gets blocked easily by banks, so check with your bank as well if transaction failed as not all banks send out text notifications. YMMV.

  • +1

After many "Transaction failed. Contact customer support." errors (probably like 15!) I've found a solution that has worked for me.
TLDR; giftcards support and IT team were useless for me, and two different banks that I tried were not the issue. They probably blocked my details.
After changing these details to a relatives (phone, address, name, email (my 2nd one)), I was able to successfully put the payment through on a Westpac Mastercard.
Invoiced immediatly, received giftcards 10 minutes later.

    • Changing the details worked for me, thanks for this tip

  • -2

Did anyone get incorrect pin at jbhifi?

    • Update - Only happened for google wallet. But the cards worked for apple wallet. No pin required

  • Might stick to the physical cards in future.

I can’t add them all to my wallet, and the ones that I have been able to add get declined when I try to use them.

    • Its probably because of expiry date, you need to go to https://myprepaidcentre.com.au/ and put your gift number info and get the expiry date, from there. this website where you would check your balance. I had the same issue last month and that's how i fixed it.

edit. nvm this is egift card so expiry date should be there. i was talking bout physical card

      • Yeah I got one working but can’t add the rest to my wallet. According to support you can only add a certain amount to the wallet in 24 hours. I’ll try again tomorrow. The one I did have in my wallet worked after a few hours.

  • My jbhifi limited one apple gift card purchase per day. Does that happen to your store?

  • How do we add the Him Card to UberEats?

    • +2

If you look at the Ultimate Him gift card webpage on the Ultimate gift card website, it says Uber Eats and Uber are exchange-only participating retailers.

In other words, you need to go to the Ultimate gift card exchange portal (and the link to this can be found on the Ultimate gift card website), enter your Ultimate Him gift card's details on the login page, then choose Uber Eats (or Uber). You will need to provide an email address during the exchange process, then you will have an Uber Eats (or Uber) gift card emailed to you that you can add to your Uber / Uber Eats wallet.

      • Thanks mate. Why dont they just add Uber Eats gift card on this promotion…

    • Then went to good guys and put an order for a 15 pro max (2200) IN STORE, and will get a $100 store credit back.

Exactly how did you handle the transaction? Were the gift cards added to your phones wallet and used like a CC, were they converted to Good Guys Gift Cards on the ultimate website etc?

    • wow how did you get the $100 store credit back from TGG? I placed my pro max order with JB, got absolutely nothing.

    • Can you explain how you saved $475 by doing this?
I only calculate $430 ($330 gift card discount and $100 store cash)

      • 5x $500 gift card = $2500 minus 15% discount equals $375 saved in addition to the $100 store cashback which is a final savings of $475

  • Not sure of this is already answered in the thread but when adding your ultimate gift card to the apple wallet and tapping it in store. Do you need to enter in the pin or is it just a tap?
Also has anyone tried buying jb hi gift cards in store or does everyone do it online?

    • Just tap, no pin, at least once their loaded to your iphone wallet - i tapped multiple in one txn yesterday, no problems. Unsuccessful buying jb giftcard online w giftcard

      • Thanks quanttrader. I’m going to buy these ultimate gift cards and buy the jb hi fi gift cards in store then.

      • Can we buy Apple gift card at JB? Also can they allow to use two ultimate gift card to buy JB gift card or Apple gift card?

        • +1

you can buy Apple GC/JB GC at JB using ultimate GC. You can have as many transaction you like (even though their policy does not limit how many Apple gift cards you can buy, some store managers might still restrict the number, but most doesn't), just ask them to split the payment. You just need to add the Ultimate GC to your Applewallet/Googlewallet first. What's not allow is to use a JBHIFI GC that was purchased with an Ultimate GC, to buy an Apple GC.

Finally managed to make payment with my Amex card on the 4th day. Called Amex on the 2nd day and they said Amex is not blocking the transaction, so not their problem. Then called GC customer support and they said it's Amex not sending the code, but they will ask IT to look into it, then they asked the first 6 digits and last 4 digits of my card number. Took them 24 hours to send me an email reply, and they told me to try again after 24 hours. So I tried 24hrs since my last attempt, and it finally worked!

  • Can't seem to get through the Payment page, just get the neverending loading wheel. Tried Chrome and Edge.
Still waiting to hear back through customer service, called them yesterday

    • same happened to me. Did it on mobile and got to past it

    • Had this problem too, went on my mobile phone and turned on the 5G internet speed. It worked then

    • you got ad block ? turned origin block off and it worked for me

  • Day 3 of Transaction Failed. I have tried changing details, putting other people's names in. It just doesn't work.

    • Call your bank to make sure there are no blocks on your card.

Call customer support. Worked for me after their IT team whitelisted my email domain, whatever that means.

  • Had the transaction issue after I bought the first time even with changing details numerous times. Called customer service who couldn’t help. I eventually got it to work by using a ubank debit card so anyone having the transaction issue I suggest trying different credit or debit cards.

  • Hi does anyone know how to check out online at 99 bikes using the ultimate gift card? I tried using the gift card and credit card options and both are not working :(

  • I am an idiot and added as a jbhifi gift card , have now deleted , added as a payment card and not a gift card but can't add.more than one wtf??

Switched to Samsung wallet and was able to add all the cards, google wallet didnt want to for some reason.

  • Is there a hack to use these gc's in BigW? Combining the 15% with the 10% everyday rewards will be a ripper deal.

    • No, EDR has a $40 spend for 1500 pts offer that was sent to most accounts. I am not surprised that EDR Extra users may not receive it.

  • Anywhere I can swap these for Bunnings cards?

    • No. Basic idea is anything retailers selling essentail stuff are not on the scheme.

  • How do you check the balance of these cards?

Tried going to https://www.ultimategiftcards.com.au/check-balance/ and clicking the digital card link and entering my card details does nothing.

    • There's a link under the eGC page that directs to it.

      • +2

        Are you talking about https://www.cardbalance.com.au/?

EDIT: Looks like you need to disable ublock origin adblock.

        • There is an easier way if you use the cards to tap. You can check the payment history of the gift cards in the apple wallet -it'll show you the history of transactoins when you select the card. No need to register the giftcards to check balances then.

  • Took me a few attempts but managed to get 2 transactions through, first was my NAB credit card that took about 4 attempts before working from my phone. Then tried again a further 5 times using the same card and my Amex and wouldn't go through. Then switched to my NAB debit card and after 2 attempts it worked. Cards were delieverd to my email pretty quick and no issues added them all to google pay. Headed off to GoodGuys and used them to purchase a new Miele oven. Thanks OP

    • Did you get message in google wallet when clicking on the UGC, taking you to another image, where its asking to verify card to use online? Or do you just tap your phone on first UGC image where it says Wallet at top left side?

      • It had to do a verification after I entered the card details. For payment it was just tap with nothing more needed

  • +1

I managed to buy some, but had problems. Called the hotline and they just transferred me to an automated line that hung up. Really sh*tty customer service.

Anyway, I called the auto line again and noticed that the expiry date the system read me (Sept 2026) was different to the expiry I got on my email (Sept 2028). Anyone else noticed this?

    • Sep 2026 is probably the real card expiry date as it is three years later.

Sep 2028 is the date that you should enter as part of the VISA card info.

  • Just confirming I added 7 cards to Google pay and Samsung pay (ie 14 in total) and all worked using tap and pay in the shop. Despite google pay showing an activation error, it still worked. I also managed to load 7 on apple pay but never got the chance to test it because the other 2 wallets worked.

  • I'd like to use these at Kogan. If I add these cards to my Google pay wallet, will the payment at Kogan go through?
Note: Kogan is not listed as a merchant on any of the ultimate GC.

    • Kogan is on Home here. GPay does not limit a card to be used directly.

      • Ah my bad. Thanks for pointing that out.

    • +1

You can only buy from Kogan online.. So not sure why would you enter the card to your google wallet? Note that only one card can be used for payment online, as opposed to multiple cards in store purchase..

      • Yes ideally would like to pay in-store but I want to buy a OnePlus phone and Kogan sells them.

        • There's a Kogan physical store?

  • I finally got it to work.

    • Various failed Combank card transactions (using different cards) - none were charged.
    • Worked with ANZ plus - first go.

Was able to add all the cards to my apple wallet.

TIP: use the camera to scan the giftcard number from you PC monitor to save typing it in manually. (cover the other numbers and check the expiry date)

    Good luck everyone!

SHEIN is not included in any of the cards on the site. Someone should change the above lists.

Thank you OP! I had success getting physical Apple Giftcards at JB today!!

There is a $1000 per person per day policy so I had to drag a friend along to get enough for an iPhone.

The process is really straightforward after you’ve added the Ultimate cards in your Apple wallet.

No need for pin even with $500 transactions. Just tap and go.

The biggest issue for me was finding a JB with enough Apple giftcards. The first store I went to only have $30 Giftcards left.

PS: I tried Officeworks first and their system recognised that I was trying to use a giftcard and failed… but no issues at JB

  • Hi All,

Sorry to ask but I've managed to get 4 x $500 cards although can only add two to Apple Wallet as others have mentioned.

Is there a work around anyone has, I've only got an iPad and iPhone.

Im trying to use these $2000 worth for a new iPhone at JB.

I checked out the FAQ thread but couldn't find any answers sorry.

Appreciate any help for an ozbargain noob.

    • Just did this today but with Google wallet. Added $2050 worth over 5 cards, bought iPhone at JB and it worked well.

Also sign up for JB perks beforehand and get a $10 welcome coupon, it worked also.

If Apple wallet doesn't let you add more than 2 cards, you might need to add 2, use them then delete and add the next two in store. A bit of a hassle but that should work

  • I have an old crappy phone with no NFC, so I can't pay with Google wallet or Apple Pay. Is it possible for me to use this to buy the new iphone at jb hifi?

  • -2

I want to buy a laptop 1500$ at officework. Can I use these? if can, how to use that?
I am international student, new to Aussie way, want to buy a laptop for study

    • +3

There are 18 pages of comments explaining how to do it. You need to do your homework and read the instruction and description..

      • -2

thx, already went to all 18pages, but cannot find a relevant one.
I have not bought the ultimate GC yet., but I went to officework this afternoon. They said they only accept physical ultimate GC in store. No digital ultimate accepted for them as they change the payment system

        • Buy 3x$500 Ultimate GC, when received by email add them to your wallet.

To add your gift card to your mobile wallet (apple pay, google wallet or samsung pay):

Go to the Wallet app on your mobile device
          Click on the plus icon
Select Debit or Credit card on the next screen
          Enter your card details
Your card has now been added to your mobile wallet.

After you add them go to officeworks and buy laptop, don't tell I want to pay with UGC, as this card classified as prepaid Visa credit card. So in effect you will have to tap your phone 3 times ($500 each).

          • @huntabargain: thank you

          • @huntabargain: So UGC can’t be used directly to buy an iPhone from jbhifi? Why do people need to add them to their wallets etc?

Sorry if this has been answered but I couldn’t find it. Thank you

            • +1

@SpotOn: The cards you buy here are digital cards, so the only way to spend them in store is to first add them to your digital wallet, then use you phone to make payment.

    • Welcome to Australia! Where are you from originally?

  • I've managed to grab some gcs to buy an iPhone 15 like many here. I'm genuinely curious why people want to go through the hassle of converting to Apple gcs to buy directly from Apple vs JBHiFi. Is there any advantage in doing the former? From what I understand, even if you buy from JB and your device craps out, you need to go to the Apple store to get it looked? What am I missing?

    • +1

      I can only assume availability.

    • +4

No questions asked return policy at Apple… don't like the blue? return it. Don't think JB HiFi have that.

      • +3

JB def do not have this. They make you sign to say you are being given the colour/memory phone of your choosing and tell you it cannot be changed for any reason other than it not working.

  • Guys I haven’t found answer in comments to this.

I purchased 5x $500 vouchers the other day which I added to Apple Pay wallet and used with no issues.

I then purchased 4x $500 vouchers that went through. I added 3x to my Apple Wallet however the last one keeps failing when I try add it. Is there a workaround for this?

    • My workaround for this was to purchase 1x jbhifi gift card through JB website using Ultimate card I couldn’t add to Apple Wallet.

      • Were you able to purchase the second round of 4x500 using the same debit/credit card?

        • +1

I used different credit card and different phone number however based on previous comments I don’t think they are checking for matching details

    • There's a limit to the amount of cards you can have in your wallet.

    • Same, I also keep getting the "Invalid Card" Error while adding the card to apple wallet.

      • +1

Dumb q, but are you sure you aren’t adding card that is already in your wallet?

        • Nope, adding a different card but there's that error, I already have 3 gift cards in apple wallet, maybe that's why?

  • +2

    Cheers OP! 🍻

  • How do they detect the one order per customer? Is it solely based on the payment method, or is it everything like name, email, address, phone no, etc?

    • It seems a bit hit and miss for people. I personally have purchased $6k using the same details.

Others are struggling to get one GC.

  • Continue getting transaction failed error :(
    Any tips? (already disabled adblocker)

    • +1

There customer care needs to unblock your account. They are blocking most of the accounts automatically. You will need to call them and wait upto 3 days.

      • Oh no, by that time the deal will be expired 😞

Edit: Arggh, just spoke to customer care and they do not assist but rather reiterate that only 1 order per customer (which I've already done). Any way forward?

    • Yeah after customer service whitelisted my details I ordered with no problem. Funny process but glad the sale was still on after whitelisting

      • Was this your first order or subsequent one? And may I know how did you get through one order per customer TCs from customer service?

  • bought the card fine, add it to apple wallet already.
    but couldn't check balance

Your card activation failed. Please try again.

  • +1

Does anyone have issue with Google wallet? I added onto it but it said need to verify your card info to make sure you can use this card anywhere.online? When entered the 3 digit pin it said unexpected error occured. Is this necessary? Since it isimited to certain stores? Confused

    • You added it to GPay to use it mainly in-store. Very few retailers accept GPay online. You enter VISA card info for purchases at eligible retailers online anyway. Ignore it.

  • +1

Payment functions still works with 15% discount. Bought 5 cards in total of $2500.

  • +2

Payment System works with 15% discount at checkout. My payment gone through successfully of $2500 minus diacount.

  • Hey guys, is it still working?

  • -7

can u use these giftcards to buy giftcards from stores, e.g JB or good guys?

my concern is if this company goes under and I havent used the balance, then Im screwed.
thinking using it for Black Friday at the earliest or early next year when TVs go on sale..

    • Instead of acting so needy, why don’t you read the comments to find answers to your questions

  • Does anyone know the expiry of these e-gift cards? I can't find it on their web. I know that the physical one is 36 months.

    • +2

      30/09/2028

  • I'm wanting to do a big purchase of an oven. Currently it is $3699 at Bing Lee and $3999 at The Good Guys. I live two hours from either store.

I have read the wiki and just wanted to confirm. If I can get The Good Guys to price match I could buy a $2500 ultimate e-gift card for $2125. I can't split payments by paying online (can someone confirm this) so I'd need to head into store to pay.

Also it says 1 card per person, so could we get two cards between us totalling $3699 and use both to pay?

    • +2

Just saw I can get it from TGG Commercial for $3419 so with discount cards can pick it up for just over $2900 using this method

  • +2

My experience: Could not find expiry date on website for Ultimate Home, so called customer service to test their response time. Got through in about 3 mins. They said at least 3 years, but were not certain, however Leanne59 above said 30-9-28, so good.

So went ahead and purchased 3x$500 plus 1x$400 card in one purchase. I used an AMX card. The digital cards appeared in my inbox about 10 mins later. I want to buy an iPhone Pro phone costing $2047. I have an unused Good Guys voucher for $150 burning a hole on my fridge (I got it for free!), so think that this is a good opportunity to use it so will not seek to exchange Ultimate Home cards for Apple GCs, I''ll just purchase phone from TGG. So it goes like this: $500(GC)+$500(GC)+$500(GC)+$400(GC)+$150 voucher = $2050. So phone will cost me $1615. Now I''ll be going overseas soon after, so will claim GST back which will be $186.09 (2047/11), so net phone cost will be $1615 - $186.09 = $1428.91. Gotta be happy with that!

So, my only real problem, as a card carrying Ozbargainer, is how to spend that unused $3 left on my GG voucher!!

    • Nice work. Good guys should also offer you $100 store cash if you sign up for purchasing the iPhone from them. Hmm maybe buy an Apple giftcard with the remaining and load it onto your Apple account.

      • Great idea, but I had already thought of that! When I investigated, I found out that that $100 offer expires sometime in October. I cannot use my GCs to buy my iPhone until mid December because to get the GST back it must be purchased less than 60 days before departure ( leaving mid Feb). However, maybe GG may have a new offer about the time when I can purchase. However, thanks for your suggestion.

    • How do you call the Customer Service? It's just the automated machine and the Giftcards Number Starting with 1300 just redirects calls to the automated teller number, pathetic customer service.

  • -1

Is this owned by Coles? When go through payment website looks like a Coles page?

    • +5

not sure but the big "© Coles Group & Myer Gift Cards 2021" at the bottom of every page may give some hints

  • +2

Can confirm I just bought $2050 worth of ultimate home cards for $1742.50.

Once I paid, I received them via email ten minutes later.

I added them to my Apple wallet and went into JB and bought $2050 of Apple gift cards using Apple Pay - no PIN required, just tapped the phone on the eftpos machine five times.

I redeemed the Apple cards to my Apple account to circumvent the 8 gift card limit when buying in store or online.

    • No limit for apple cards at JB? They wouldnt let me get more than two cards. I m in Vic.

      • No, I literally bought 12 over the counter. 10 x $200, 1 x $20 and 1 x $30.

I bought the $20 one separately first just to make sure there was no issues buying it with the ultimate card prior to buying the other $2030 worth of ultimate cards.

        I’m in NSW,

@123nkj: If you feel like a drive, go to JB at Jamisontown.

They have HEAPS of $200 ones and let me buy as many as I needed.

  • I can't add gift card in apple wallet.

    What can i do? thx

    • What’s it saying when you try?

    • I had the same problem also, until I worked it out!

Did you allow the phone to scan card details? If you did then it read the PCN number and not the CARD number (number above the PCN number). Enter the card number manually and you should be good to go from there on. Good luck.

      • That’s strange, I just scanned 12 gift cards without a problem.

      • +1

yes i enter ther card number manually but it didn't work

    • +1

      it saying can't add card

      • There’s a limit to the number of cards you can have in your wallet at any one time. Perhaps that’s it?

        • +1

i just have one debit card in wallet

          • @LuMi0811: Not sure why it’s not working then. Try a soft reset perhaps and see if that helps.

Tap volume up, then volume down then press and hold power button until screen goes black and apple logo reappears.

            • @Bargain78: it still not work

              • +1

@LuMi0811: I’m out of ideas sorry. You’re definitely trying to add it as a debit/credit card in apple wallet app?

    • Same Error "Invalid Card" in Apple Wallet.

  • I have added my gift cards (Home) to google wallet, but when I tried to pay using them at JB HiFi, it simply didn't work. Any thoughts?

    • +1

Had the same issue. Kept asking for pin at Jb and then said incorrect pin. Then added the same cards to apple wallet and they worked.

      • I just tried to convert these cards online to JBHiFi cards and now JBHiFi blocked me for buying more than two cards…

        • +1

There is a link here somewhere that states it's limited to two transactions per day for security reasons.
So you may want to try a different JB account / IP address if you are time limited.

          • @liam2040: I can confirm, that I could buy another 2 cards the following day.

  • Still no go for me using multiple CCs, browsers, and IP addresses.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Got a couple and added them to Google wallet as a payment card. Went to Total Tools and pay waved without PIN. A very pleasant experience this time around - had issues adding to Wallet in the last offer.

  • Updated:
I bought 2 $500 UGC for the apple watch.
Both cards were added to apple wallet without any problems.

However, when I was buying the jb gf card online, the order was canceled via an email.

Contacted the verification email and was asked 3 questions related to personal information.

After that, I successfully bought 1 $500 jb gf card.
Remaining one was asked to buy in-store.

Not bad, at least 85% off cards are real.

  • Did anybody face the issue when you can see balance when using gift card as VISA, but can not see balance or use the card as e-gift? E.g. TGG gives error when I try to reduce the balance in cart / checkout, or https://www.cardbalance.com.au balance check gives error - "We are unable to process your request at this time. If you continue to receive this error, please contact Cardholder services by calling the number on the back of your card."

    • No ad block clean browser, EXP 09/28.

      • Yep, however when used as digital e-gift card (not VISA), it does not ask for exp date.

        • It is used as a VISA on TGG, not TGG giftcard. Why not read wiki above and not repeat the same question?

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to use the vouchers to buy at JB HiFi and then claim the airport tax refund for the JB HiFi purchase?

  • Is there anyway to use more than 1 gift card at kogan or is it limited to only 1 per checkout.

    • It is used as a VISA on Kogan. Top up your Kogan account balance by giftcards sourced from other place and let the remaining payment under $500. There's a bonus on Shopback at the moment.

      • Is there any place which sells kogan gift cards that I can use ultimate giftcards at?

        • You may try buying Kogan giftcard on Kogan with it, but I have failed to make it several times before.

          Have a read here.

  • Does anyone have any experience using egiftcards for booking flights on webjet?

I've never used webjet, but looks like you can redeem for egiftcards, and from what I can find you can use up to 30 egiftcards per transaction.

It'd be pretty sweet getting 15% off international business class flights.

    • This is not webjet egift unless it can be swapped for it easily. Otherwise, there may be a lot of work to achieve the result. Read how to use it carefully.

    • Hey, also looking to do this for an international flight very soon. All things considered, looks like it will work. The only issue I see so far is the 3-day activation for the egift on webjet's side and potentially needing to pay the difference in any price changes. Have you had any success getting the egift cards with the ultimate GCs djlee?

  • Those who have the 'transaction failed' issue: try a different card.

Transaction failed the first few times with my NAB card, tried with my uBank card and it went through fine. YMMV

    • +1

Agree, some banks are blocking the transaction, suspecting fraud/money laundering reason.

      • Yep, didn't receive any notifications or such from NAB, it just straight up wouldn't work.

Just received my 5 cards thru email.

        • You do not receive notification from bank when they block, they just block it and you get payment failure. My first purchase went straight away with CBA and second one got blocked, then tried another bank and it went through. When I called CBA, after waiting 40min on phone they transferred me to fraud team to resolve, but I did not bother to wait again and bought with different card/bank.

        • I got through my with NAB card but took a few attempts. No luck with Amex

  • How many cards i can add in my apple wallet?

  • Bought 6 cards in total. Can only add 3 onto my iphone. Had to add the other 3 on my wife's iphone. Went to JB trying to preorder the iphone pro max, guy at the store sent me a link to pay for it online, apparently they said pre-orders cant be paid for in the store. i asked if i can use multiple visa cards online, the guy said yes coz its a special link (didnt believe him), went home tried it, didnt work. Called the store, they asked me to go in to purchase jb gift cards to pay for it online. It was a bit of a hassle. I now have 2.2k worth of jb gift cards. Cant pre order the pro max natural color online. Only white is available.

    • Try the good guys. I ordered with the ultimate giftcards from them without any issues and they throw in $100 store cash

      • i've converted them to jb gift cards now. cant get it from good guys.

    • Try different JB store. You can definitely pre-order with ultimate GC in-store, don't even need to convert them to JBHIFI GC. Many people are doing this, there're several in this post alone. That guy either doesn't know his stuff or is intentionally misleading you so that you can only spend those money on them. It's just like some store manager limits the amount of GC you can buy when there's no restriction policy and some store doesn't.

    • +1

This is BS. You can definitely preorder in store, they just recommend doing it through website as you will supposedly get it quicker. Just tell them you have vouchers to use in store so can’t pre-order through their site

Yep this error ‘transaction failed, please contact customer service’ happened to a few too many of those who tried to purchase.

And the only way around is to use a different card. There should be in the wiki or sticky on top for the newcomers.

        • Thanks! I had tried so many times and with 3 different cards, just tried again with another card and it worked first try!
No idea why the first 3 cards don't work, one is from the same bank as the one that worked

    • Most likely your credit card provider / bank blocked the transaction, try another card or call your bank.

      • My bank says they didn't block the transaction. Trying to call the website now.

Edit: Yeah not sure why but I wasn't even getting through to the SMS code via my first card but was able to with my second card.

Sort of, by buying a JB GC with the HIM card (use it like a debit card). But apparently, there's a limit of 2 per day.

      • +1

Yes, you can only buy two cards a day.

    • Hey mate, I tried this but didn't work. Maybe it did for others but not for me (I wanted get the max $500 JB Hifi gift card but transaction was cancelled even after it was processed by JB Hifi).

    • +1

According to ultimate webpage, cannot exchange HIM for jbhifi egiftcard. Might try in-store. Thanks guys

  • Just bought 4x$500 Home gift cards and added them to Apple Wallet in the last half hour.

    No issues.

  • Didn't work with Edge, used Opera Browser and was able to do it.

  • +1

Anyone else have their ANZ cards blocked? Annoying, been in the phone twice trying to get it unblocked.

It was because of these attempted purchases.

  • +2

Thanks OP bought multiple items, Different mobile numbers and email ids.
Was able to score a JBL Bar 1000 for $759.

  • Does this count as cash advance if purchased on credit card ? Thinking if I can use my credit card I can double dip with the rewards points.

    • How do you double dip with rewards points?

      • By using a credit card that collects points.

        • +1

That is just single dip, where is the double coming from? lol

Unless you are paying off the credit card with the Ultimate GC? lol

    • It is a regular transaction.

    • If you have a credit card issued by Commonwealth Bank, it may count as a cash advance. To be fair, Commonwealth Bank and its subsidiaries have been known to count purchases from some online gift card portals as cash advances.

I have used AMEX and Westpac credit cards in the past on giftcards.com.au and have not attracted a cash advance fee, but I am not sure whether AMEX or Westpac (or anyone else) would today count purchases from this gift card portal as a cash advance.

Converted $500 and $100 to JB HI FI Gift cards online and payed the remaining $100 using the ultimate home added to Apple Pay for an Apple Watch, smooth transaction in store.

    • +1

Which Apple Watch did you get in-store?It seems like a lot of the "blue Sport Loop" bands are out of stock.

      • S9 45mm Midnight Sports Band

  • +1

Bought $1850 worth of GC's and just redeemed them for the iPhone pro at JB. No issues whatsoever, just mentioned I needed to do split payments of $500 each. They just needed confirmation that it wasn't all on the same card.

  • +1

How do you manage these cards if you have multiple cards ? Balance doesn't show, if you have multiple cards of different denominations, easy to become a mess.
Are you all keeping a note of card number and balance/amount used?

    • Yeah I feel your pain… I've been trying to work that out too! I just added 5 x $500 to Apple Wallet and I can't see any balances… lmk when you work it out:)

  • Just had an attempted JB Hifi gift card purchase cancelled on gift card number 6, using Apple Pay to make the purchase.

I'll try it on a different network with different details and see if that goes through.

Edit: damn, that was cancelled too. Looks like they might be on to me. That's annoying.

I think I'll go into a store tomorrow and see if I can make it work with Apple Pay.

    • +1

Hmmm yeah I reckon they are on to you…. just keep the curtains drawn and dim the lights… sit tight until tomorrow 😉

      • +2

It's all fun and games until JB sends the black helicopters!

    • +1

You can wait a day if you are not in hurry.

  • i want to buy $1500 ultimate hims. should i just put the total amount $1500 at http://giftcards.com.au/.
i am a bit confused as my friend was saying i can't redeem more than $500 and i should buy it in lots of 3x $500.

    • +1

Can’t get more than $500 per card, so you’ll have to buy 3 cards.

      • thanks mate, tried buying using CBA debit got declined. ended up using nab credit card.

  • Bought 5 x $500 ultimate home gift cards - now need to find a use… thinking of upgrading my iPhone 14 Pro to a 15 Pro Max but am not especially enthusiastic given how incremental the 15's are over the previous gen. Here's to consumerism!

    • +1

I upgraded from iPhone 14 Pro Max to 15 Pro Max, I kind of regret it. If you’re happy with your iPhone 14 Pro, don’t upgrade and wait for iPhone 16.

      • +1

Seeing multiple bad reviews on heat and throttling and also the back glass shattering. Maybe you can take it back..?

        • The problem is I sold my perfectly fine iPhone 14 Pro Max so if I return the 15 Pro Max, I would be left with no iPhone.
Luckily my unit doesn’t exhibit the heat issue but the battery, screen and camera (photo quality) seem to be inferior to my old 14. The 15 is lighter yes but also feels less premium and made with cheaper components.

The only best thing about the 15 is the USB-C. If I had my time again I would not ‘upgrade’ as it feels more like a downgrade.

      • So for someone who is looking to buy new iphone, would you recommend buying iphone 15 pro max or 14 pro/ pro max (considering you can get it couple of hundreds $$ cheaper than 15), or wait for pro 16. thanks

        • What phone are you using now and what are you looking for in the new phone? Camera? Screen size, storage? Apple ecosystem? Also ask yourself what is the reason you want to buy a new iphone (current phone too old? screen too small, too slow, battery’s bad etc).

If you already have an iPhone 12-13 and it’s working OK then my suggestion is to wait for iPhone 16. However, Apple being Apple, iPhone 16 may still be an incremental upgrade only. Rumours say there may be an iPhone 16 ultra next year (there were also rumours about we were getting an iPhone 15 ultra this year but turned out to be false).

If you want to try iPhone and you’re currently on android then get the iPhone 15 Plus (if you are OK with the screen’s lower refresh rate, one less camera than the iPhone 14 Pro Max) I know some people bought the iPhone 15 Plus as a stop gap for next year’s iPhone 16 or even iPhone 17 because the iPhone 15 plus is so similar to the iPhone 14 Pro Max but with USB-C (albeit slow).

    • Someone mentioned above that they are valid for 5 years from time of purchase, so you could in theory hold onto them for another 12 months to check out the iPhone 16 series.

  • Bought 3 Home today, none of them work in the Google Wallet, but works for Samsung Wallet.

Went to the Pitt Street Westfield JBHIFI, one staff rejected my purchase said policy not allow to use ultimate GC to buy JBHIFI GC -_-

Went to City Strand Arcade one, no issue at all.

    • It was sold out when I went to Arcade yesterday evening. No luck as well this morning so felt like just buying iPhone 15 Pro Max directly from JB Hifi, but not sure how much I should trust them with 2-4 weeks lead time which is earlier than Apple Store (8 weeks).

  • Getting transaction failed now. Anyone else having this?

    • -4

Dude, seriously, read the prior posts that already cover this. At the very least read this last page that has it covered yet again.
At least try to help yourself first.

      • +1

I mean I went back and checked the previous responses after reading you "helpful" suggestion.

General consensus was - "Contact customer care for them to unblock your account".

Great advice. Other than the fact that I just tried for 10 mins and it eventually worked.

Love the passive aggressive incorrect answer though.

  • 3 x Home gift card no issue.

  • Trying to add 2x $500 good guys cards . Showing in my cart as $1000 . When is the 15% off applied ?

    • Tested on the link in OP, it’s still working
      Which site are you on?

      • Think they were having some issue as it failed for ages. Worked finally as this dude below just mentioned.

      • Works now. I was adding good guys gift card rather than the ultimate card

  • +2

FINALLY IT WORKED after decades of failed transactions.

    Thanks OP.

    • How do you get into the failed stage?

      • Previously, like everyone else at the payment part.

Just bought another $500 and it worked. Using a citi CC both times. Weird, maybe they fixed it.

  • Took about a dozen tries but eventually got through 'transaction failed, contact customer support' error

  • What's validity time period of Ultimate Gift card?

    • 5 years

  • Spinning on payment details stage.
    Brave private tab browser

  • If they fixed AMEX I would spend $5000.

I want the savings and the points

    shrug

    • I used Amex for my order a couple of hours ago and order went through immediately. Got my GCs 8 minutes later.

  • How can I use multiple home cards to buy the Iphone 15 pro max from TGG? Online or in store only? Sorry if its already been asked.

    • add to your apple/gpay wallet and pay them via Tap pay in split payments at TGG. Don't think you can use them online, only Instore

  • So in google wallet app i am trying to verify the card added, its giving unexpected error occured. I assume its gonna fail if I try to pay in store ?

    • No. It works in store. I coudn't verify on google wallet, but it works in store.

  • Anyone know where to get the larger apple gift card denominations in Sydney? I've tried a couple of JB's and they were out. Need to get a macbook for my son, so was hoping to buy from the edu store.

    • +1

      Same in Melbourne 😢

  • Purchased 200$ Ultimate Him card for 170$.

    • First attempt using Commbank Debit card failed
    • Second attempt using Commbank Debit card failed
    • Third attempt successful using overseas debit card

Received email confirmation within 2 minutes.

The first and second attempt probably failed because my Commbank debit card usually does "Pending fund". I also had this trouble when trying to buy gift card from https://www.special.com.au/

  • Does anyone know how to apply the Ultimate Him card to Uber? Super thankful in advance to any help!!

    • If you look at the Ultimate Him gift card webpage on the Ultimate gift card website, it says Uber and Uber Eats are exchange-only participating retailers.

In other words, you need to go to the Ultimate gift card exchange portal (and the link to this can be found on the Ultimate gift card website), enter your Ultimate Him gift card's details on the login page, then choose Uber (or Uber Eats). You will need to provide an email address during the exchange process, then you will have an Uber (or Uber Eats) gift card emailed to you that you can add to your Uber / Uber Eats wallet.

      • Hi WM, can I only exchange partial value of gc to uber? (Never done exchange before)

Will this work buying from JB online using 4 x $500 UGC? I've added to Apple wallet already, or only in store?

    • +1

This is addressed here and in the related FAQ in the wiki linked in the OP’s description.

    • +1

From looking at the threads lots of people said theirs got cancelled. I went to use the UGC in store to pay for part of my iPhone which works fine. But if you’re wanting to convert UGC to JB Hi Fi gift cards some people are strict and say you can’t do that even if your saying your paying with a visa.

      • Yes I'm aware of issue buying gift card from gift card. No problem buying normal item from JB in store with multiple UGC through Apple Pay for me. However when I trying to buy more UGC, I get verification failed, this is so weird, same CC buying UGC without problem before :/

        • I had the same issue after 2 GC in separate transactions, on different days.
Called them to clarify and remove the block
Apparently I bought too many cards and have to leave some for others 🤷

          • @HunterBargainHunter: ya they replied me, saying only allowed one per person, which doesn't make sense, I made 3 purchase in 2 different days without issue. I thought the limit was $2500 per person. Oh well….

  • Tried 3 different cards, all transaction failed, only for $850 worth too

  • +1

This is a joke. The labour spent sorting out failed transaction is probably worth more than the savings, I give up after trying every single method recommended.

    • I had this stupid problem last time, with my damn BankWest card, @#%@#ed me off, tried 2 or 3 cards, eventually my AMEX worked.

This time, same thing BankWest failed first time, I said NOPE went straight to my Amex, worked a charm.

      • I tried about 10 times with my Amex with no luck :(

    • +1

I agree and I am in the same boat. Called and emailed details as requested. Told my email had been white listed (whatever that means) and of course it still didn't work. They said they would escalate it when I called again on Friday. Surprise, surprise no email update. Frustrating despite the fact I get one time code from my bank.
