      No its not
Infact nothing is that cheap because of the Shipping fees Unless you order $15 + USD stuff

which in turn kinda of just means the 2 USD is just like a minor shipping fee offset. (dont forget Tax too)

      • +1

i was gonna say the $15 minimum for shipping kills the deal

        • +6

Hence why I suggest waiting for the End of Season sale if you needed to buy more. E.g. get US3.50 off US$30 spend plus this code.

        • +2

I feel finding $15 to buy on ali is super easy…

      • +4

        No its not

        Yeh it is

        AU$5.11 + $2.29 ship - $2 USD code + $0.50 GST = < $5 shipped

        • +1

          Ah my bad then sorry.

          • @USER DC: Worth a shot at that price for GAN

            • @easternculture: You would also need an international plug convertor (unless you already have one) for that particular product (as no AUS plug available)

              • +1

@USER DC: Yeh got the $4 amazon one and the $17 GAN one clear posted

                • @easternculture: I'm hoping to have another more compact GaN charger deal with actual proper AU/US/EU plugs if this coupon works out.

            • +1

@easternculture: I kinda feel it's worth not giving it a shot because of the price. It's $5, you're getting janky garbage.

            • @easternculture: It's not worth a shot. It's a fake with just GaN printed on the outside. Look at the 1 star teardown reviews.

    • +8

      That's neither 65W or GaN.

Look at the one star reviews, they're all opening it up and finding a cheap 5V 2A charger inside, along with others plugging in their testers and having it fail basically every protocol under the sun.

Even a random blog post in Japanese describing the same item.

Thank you very helpful. Did you happen find any teardown or similar reviews for the LENCENT Universal Travel Adapter, GaN III 65W 2 USB Ports & 3 USB-C

    • No au plug option. Passed.

  • Can never get coupons to work, always says invalid. Any ideas?

    • First idea would be to click on the deal. That's where all the eligible items are.

      • Yep I've tried the charger from above and a few other items, added code on checkout, but declined.

        • +3

Oh that's on me. Hasn't started yet

Just had another ali fiasco. Got stuff, became group shipping. One item missing but marked 'delivered'
Ali wouldn't accept dispute because I couldn't give a valid high quality video proof - of an item not being delivered to me. Auto-sides with seller.
    Are they retarded or sth?
Will go thru paypal dispute I guess.

Also most times their sales/coupons don't apply to things I add from their lists.

    • +2

I have a picture of an open palm up, holding nothing ready for these cases. Paypal has got you.

      • That worked for me a few months ago.

      • +2

they wanted a video, I sent a video which didn't contain the item. They said it wasn't high quality enough.
wonder why they pull this crap, do ppl give up and smile while being ripped off? I doubt it.

I'll try to add a palm photo see what they say.

    • I think they were probably expecting you to upload a video of the package you received showing everything else but not the item.

      • same req even for single item packages
I've also been asked for a video to prove
        * item doesn't turn on - sure here's a video of an item that's off
        * light turning on randomly and unexpectedly - how exactly?

    • Ah yes, the old "send us a video" chestnut. They are imbeciles. I'm also a big fan of AE sellers who offer $1 compensation for lost/broken/incorrect products and expect that to be an appropriate fix.

I've stopped even bothering with AE/sellers for any issues. Straight to PayPal.

This is worth a read and the comments

Considering a lot of the customer service are using Alibaba's terrible translation app it's important to speak direct and very basic. A lot of disputes don't go well because of the language used.

  • Yeah, I found the "choice" products are not as good as others. Their description sometimes is unclear.
I wouldn't buy items more than $10 or require warranty from Ali. I learned my lesson.

    • +2

Choice means the stock is shipped from the AliExpress warehouse instead of the sellers. There's plenty of good quality products under Choice.

  • +1

Ah they're competing with Amazon global prime, with their choice version.

    Not to bad.

  • Just had 3 separate items fall to be cleared by customs (it says packages are confiscated by customs ????). Anyone had something like this happen before ?

    • What did you order?

      • Car boot mat, silicone tape and a boot lip protective sticker. From different sellers with different tracking numbers.

        • Nothing illegal about those. Something must have tripped up customs.

          • @Clear: I wonder if customs can be contacted

            • @soupratt: Yes. There's usually a form you can fill out too.

    • +2

Customs person must have the same car as you.

  • The "choice" products have similar pricing to Temu. Both requires minimum $15 spend. I think AliExpress Choice is competiting with Temu.

  • Do you happen to know if the code can be used multiple times on the one account?

  • It doesn’t stack with a choice item I’m looking to buy

    • Me either. AliExpress deals always end up just pissing me off.

      • Seems to be only on the page I linked.
