      that's their normal price. $2.

it's on TV every 5 minutes.

      the new push by KFC

      • +5

Well the chicken has dropped like 50 cents a piece or something (well at least in FNQ, I think metro areas are slightly cheaper than rural)

        • +4

Just had the chance to visit a KFC in Cairns
Normally the piece of chicken is $2.55, the potato and gravy is $3.80, so that's a fairly decent savings on their individual pricing if anyone wanted to just add one of these things on the side, I know I'll be adding the potato and gravy now.
The other items aren't a usual item so they don't have a pre-promo price.

        • +17

It's just a friendly reminder that the average healthy diet has to include Fried Chicken. It's even in one of the essential food groups on the pyramid.

bargain is a bargain, normal price or not
based on the ozbargain spirit, the 1385kJ chicken sub wins
but i agree with you, this is no bargain

        • +1

bargain is a bargain, normal price or not

if something is at normal price, and you are not saving any money, and you can always buy it at that price or cheaper, how can it be a bargain ?

        • +3

burger A: $5 on special save $__ (fill in anything u like)
          burger B: $2 regular price
both are same value fastfood lunch
regular price can still be a bargain
but again i'm not saying this is a bargain

        • +4

I feel you. Democracy is ruling this forum so to speak. And the MOD is inconsistent from time to time. No offence but it is true!
Ps. MODs are still doing a good job and I thank you for that.

          "JV you've done it again"

Hahaha! Yeah.. I'm learning to co-ordinate my arrivals to after JV has been around. Not only is he an amusing read, but without fail people use up all their negs on him, giving me safe passage to talk rot largely unrated.

Cheers, JV.. it's a great Community Service that you do. ;D

          food groups on the pyramid

not everyone likes Egyptian food though…

I thought that was piss funny.

        • +9

people use up all their negs on him,

          Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….

          Dr. Nick: Hi everybody!
          Homer+Bart: Hi Doctor Nick!
Nick: Now there are many options available for dangerously
underweighted individuals like yourself. I recommend a slow
steady gorging process combined with assal horizontology.
          Homer: [pensive] Of course.
Nick: [points to a chart] You'll want to focus on the neglected
food groups such as the whipped group, the congealed group
          and the chocotastic!
Homer: What can I do to speed the whole thing up, Doctor?
Nick: Well…be creative. Instead of making sandwiches with
bread, use poptarts. Instead of chewing gum, chew bacon,
          heh…
Bart: You could brush your teeth with milkshakes!
Dr. Nick: Hey, did you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College too?
And remember, if you're not sure about something, rub it
against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it's
your window to weight gain. Bye bye, everybody!

        • You… you… you feel him?

        • +3

Haha, I was actually quoting an old JB Hifi add and thought people may get the reference. Definitely no blight on jv who I reckon is a great contributor and a funny guy.

I'm a total troll too so I know where you're comin from! Wasn't aware there was a neg limit, I'm pretty sure i've been negged to death and back! Great to hear I have competition out there. Gotta keep dem standards up.

edit:…and I reckon we're actually quite hilariously good at what we do!

        • +3

Only jv can come up with this face-palmed joke!

        • +1

          ..

        • funny

        • +11

In your opinion. I happen to agree with jv. What gives you the right to tell him to stop talking, hmm?

        • -1

In your opinion. All his posts have been negged. Go figure. Neg me all you like, there's only one of you. I sitll think this is a worthy deal to be published on ozbargain :)

        • +9

          In your opinion.

Unlike you, I never gave any indication that I believed anything otherwise. Whereas you ever so boldly stated "this is a deal" - to which I was referring to - I simply stated that I agreed with jv. Therefore, I'm not entirely sure why you parroting 'in your opinion' was necessary.

All his posts have been negged.

Very astute of you to notice, but I fail to see why this is important. Due to his/her (I'm assuming 'his') critical stance, jv isn't particularly popular and it often becomes something of a bandwagon just to neg people. In any case, a popular opinion doesn't necessarily correlate to a 'correct' one, so it matters little that his posts are negged. He has as much right to express his opinion as you or I do.

I sitll think this is a worthy deal to be published on ozbargain :)

Even though I disagree, I don't have a problem with you thinking the contrary. What irks me is when you tell other people to stop talking, just because their ideas don't conform with yours.

        • +14

All his posts have been negged.

          Are you jealous ?

        • +6

Without Jv ozbargain wouldn't be the same.

        • +7

Yeah negged or not, he's like a fixture now.

I can hear his posts in my sleep sometimes, "Is it a bargain? Is it a bargain?"

        • very true.

        the new push by KFC

due to my busy lifestyle i dont watch tv anymore
just thought u should know that there are people who dont watch TV that find this at least, informative.

    • +1

I feel this deal should be preserved in epic threads as the perfect example of JV at work.

  • +8

Potato and Gravy should be less than that normally. :/

    • +4

      Like a dollar each?

      • +2

A dollar for the tiny container it's served in.

  • +2

I'll be more than happy to have 5 pieces of chicken than a 3 piece feed meal.

    • +2

Took me a while to realise what you did with your avatar there.

      • +4

what, you had to count up to 200?

  • +1

4 pieces of chicken is $6.95

      • +18

That's why they go to KFC where the pieces are smaller. ;)

        • like Hungry Jack's slogan, KFC can now go pro-diet with "KFC - Where the pieces are smaller"

      • +3

I find that offensive, once I wipe all the grease off my hands and forehead i'mma come after you.

      • +1

But not everyone can stomach 4 huge pieces of chicken!

        Aren't you vegetarian ?

        • Certainly not. I take it my sarcasm failed lmao.

        • kiwi humour often does bro

        • Common misconception, I see it as more: Aussie understanding fails to account for the much superior, and slier, kiwi humor. ;) I'm not too worried about getting negged to death here, it is bound to happen regardless or stance.

        • Too true (on the negs aspect lol)

        • +1

60 posts and 1k comments later, I feel I can take a bit of Aussie slack for being a Kiwi, I sure give my fair share back, especially at work to those Aussie travel agents!

  • +2

might have to drop by and try it

  • -1

    this is a marketing con.
    1 piece chicken = $2
    21 piece chicken = $ 42

    a normal 21 piece chicken is = ~$35

just grab a couple of mates and share that 21 piece at a bargain.

    • +25

      Marketing con?

You do understand the concept of buying in bulk?

The entire basis of retail stands on buying wholesale and selling at retail.

The entire capitalist structure would fall without that basic principle.

      • +1

If KFC starts delivering frozen chickens online (require purchase of an airfryer), we'll get some real bargains since the middleman is gone.

        • +2

Why don't we as a group of like minded people band together, pool our resources, and buy a KFC store? Then we can all eat at the employee discount, which has to be at least another 10% off?

          Who's with me?

    • +1

what if you only want one? If you bought the 21 piece then you'll need 21 friends to go with you

      • +46

21 pieces of chicken for 22 people? I'd hate to be the guy that missed out ;)

        • +11

          ooops…

        • +6

          One of them is vegetarian

        • He said 21 friends.

        • +1

          One of them is vegetarian

          Just eat the skin

    • And you can't choose the part you like when you buy in bulk

    • Slowmo has to be joking.
I'm assuming he's joking because nobody could be that stupid…
      …could they?

    • Or you know just go on a Tuesday and grab 27 pieces for $27

      • its actually $29.85 ;)

        • +1

Ah yes forgot the 95 cents lol (their marketing tricks worked!… I'm loosing my edge)

  • Despite the OP which was quite clearly worded, I initially thought that the "new KFC Streetwise menu ….all items $2" gave me ALL items combined for two bucks.

And still I hesitated. Especially in consideration of Hungry Jack's zero dollar deal (or even their expired $2 deal, which still included salad stuff missing in all the KFC bites bar the 1385 kilojoule thing.

Thanks never the less for the OP!

    • +4

The more killer jewels the better I say.

  • -3

    sorry but not a bargain!!

  • +2

if you buy each of them you end up with a 10$ meal which beats any of their regular meals at same price

    minus a 50c soda

    • +5

      minus a 50c soda

do you mean a soft drink ? soda is caustic…

      • +12

The term soda is obsolete in chemistry. What you're thinking of is sodium compounds.

        The moar you know.

  • Sub looks pretty good.

Just like the red rooster $2 menu, I would have liked a drink…

    • +13

      Sub looks pretty good.

Don't expect it to look like it does in the picture.

    • The popcorn chicken looks great as well for $2.

  • +2

The Streetwise $2 menu is available in NSW, QLD, VIC, WA and TAS

    None for SA :(

    • +1

      small town syndrome…

      • +3

lol in that case tassie should be the first excluded

    • I will be boycotting KFC.
      OUTRAGED! lol

  • +1

So guys, is this an all-day everyday thing? When does it start?

They should do a deal on their Krushers too I reckon, the strawberry one is quite nice.

  • +8

Finally KFC brings out a cheap menu, loving the competitive nature atm of the fastfood stores.

    • +1

It just highlights how overcharged we are in Australia

    • +2

I reckon KFC started it all with their snack boxes!

  • +12

    1385kJ for $2? Yay!

  • +1

anyone knows if the 9 pieces every tuesday still on?

    • +1

It is. Just finished my 9 pieces for dinner

  • no its not moonwalk.

    • Yes it is moonwalk.

  • They cut the $2 mini krusher :(

  • +3

For $2…can one only expect a Drumstick?

  • -1

Can I neg. it as it is not available in SA.

    • +5

      Not for that reason, no.

    • -2

Yes. OP should state excludes SA.

      • +2

"Available in NSW, QLD, VIC, WA and TAS"

        • +1

          In the title

        • Why? What does difference does it make if its in the title or not? It's stated explicitly in the description where this deal is applicable - what more do you want?

        • +5

This is what robinsoa wants: Not applicable at Nicaragua, Lesotho, Belarus, Iceland…

        • It'd be a bit ridiculous if you were to put "-NSW, VIC, WA, TAS" in the title, don't you think? Putting the location in the title it generally intended for specifics. 5/7 states / territories is hardly specific enough to warrant it. And even then, the lack of location in the title is hardly a reason to neg, as robinsoa was originally saying.

  • +14

KFC need to add a scale bar to all their advertising images because their food is served in microscopic proportions!!!! not even joking!
