  • What are these needed for?
I put my outdoor (inverter) unit straight on the bricks, intending to add pads and bolts later. But there is no noise transfer, no rattling.

    Perhaps useful when wall-mounting?

    • This is my exact scenario - had solar installed a couple of weeks ago, the only place the inverter could go was the balcony wall. I now am going f'ing insane from the hum and vibration going through the bricks. Wonder if this could help me?

edit- oh damn you guys are at only Underwood. Might see you tomorrow.

I need these but shipping kills it :(

  • Are these universal or unit specific?

  • I wonder if these would be good as 3d printer feet?

    • really depends, these things have a sweet spot relative to the mass and vibration nature of the device… in general i'd assume 3d printers are much too light to overlap with these.

The data sheet says maximum compression load is 70kg per Mount but does not state the compression deflection. So a useless data sheet.

The effectiveness of vibration-isolation depends purely on the compression when installed. If 0mm compression, then 0% vibration-isolation. Also, if more than about 30% compression, also close to 0% vibration-isolation.

If you really need vibration-isolation, buy a proper engineering-grade vibration-isolation Mount.

    • Wow, this was super helpful info. Cheers mate 🙏

Be that as it may, it's still the best deal for Air Con Anti-Vibration Rubber Feet Mounting Blocks Set of 4pcs in the history of OzBargain…

      • LOL is it really "anti-vibration" if it doesn't work, or only works for some unspecified situation that no-one knows since the datasheet doesn't show the data?

        • Mebbe. Depends if the assumption holds that the absence of a detailed data sheet renders the product unworkable or unsuitable for any given situation.

Best. Air Con Anti-Vibration Rubber Feet Mounting Blocks Set of 4pcs. Deal. Ever.

Or at last since the last time the rep posted the same deal…

          • @UncleRico: So someone should buy them in the random hope they work for their particular use-case?

JaseJase comment below that they didn't do much at all is exactly my experience of these generic items - they are far too rigid.

            • @seb: Nope. Never said that. It's a free market, as with any purchase - be it rubber mounts or ninja shark snorkels - prospective buyers should evaluate the price, the product and decide whether the value proposition works for them in their use case. A significant majority won't ever go looking for a spec sheet, nor would they consider a more expensive purchase even if it offered better isolation.

The extra insight you've provided is great, especially for anyone who needs and is prepared to pay for an engineering-grade vibration-isolation mount, but everyone is going to go to this extent https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/8150puWFAmL.jpg. The presumption that this product is unsuitable and doesn't work at all because you can't cite a detailed spec sheet or had a bad experience with different generic product is as equally flawed as a supposition that this product is perfect for all use cases. Citing someone else's experience with a different product from a different seller does nothing to clarify the lack of objective information that you were lamenting in your orginal post.

Amazon is full of reviews for identical —looking— products typically at between twice and four times the price (albeit all without specs or datasheets as well) with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Does that mean this product will perform as well? Of course not. But for twenty bucks, if all it did was elevate the compressor and provide some level of noise or vibration isolation - be that 5% or 50% improvement - it will certainly tick boxes for plenty of people. It's amazing how often you see an a/c units installed straight onto slabs or chocked up on bricks or tiles offering zero compression or rust mitigation. If it had some capacity for levelling, I would have tested the waters and bought a set myself myself.

              TLDR - Horses for courses…

    • I put some feet on the compressor on our rear deck and they didn't do much at all. They looked the same as these. Probably due to a lack of compression.
