Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

    • Yes. I'll keep the auto-renew on. Hopefully it still just charges 44.99 after 36 months.

  • After mine landed (initially deposited 27th for 14 month) - I have decided I want the 36 month lol and put one just now, hope it arrives in time.

Thanks OP. Took some time to go through all the steps but got it done in the end. Much appreciated.

@OzGoat Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

  • Hi ISP,

Thank you SOOOOO MUCH! I just got my 36 month XGPU subscribed. Can I ask two questions?

    1. Do I need to cancel the auto renew of XGPU when we finished the last step?
    2. Are we able to to change the region back to Australia after finishing all the steps?

    Many thanks!

    • +1
      1. I did, only because I'm likely to forget in 3 years time and dont want my oldubil getting charged.
      2. I did, and there doesnt seem to be any issues other than not being able to claim GwG through the xbox and cloud gaming not working.
      • Can you clarify cloud gaming not working?
Im glad i've read that because the main reason id want this deal is for Cloud gaming!

    • +1

@mmmmxuan Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

      1. Yes, recommend you do.
      2. Yes.
  • My Gamepass expires on the 19th July, after the increase.

Will I still be able to do this, but at a higher cost? I'd honestly be happy with anything under $150 for the 3 years.

However, is there any workaround to get it at current pricing without having to create a new account?

    • Cancel current sub either through xbox or calling to Microsoft Australia.

      • -1

Will that not keep my current subscription until it expires though?

        • Do the call method as per above comments

  • If i transferred to oldu how long has it taken for everyone?

  • +1

Thank you again ISP. Got it working late last night and now got 36 months.
    First world problem :)
With the remainder on oldubil as transferred too much in case. Can i use that to do 14 months for my son? Do i have to go through same process again with linking card and so on?
And if so can card be linked to 2 profiles?

    • @Mikael Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

In regards to your Q, I believe you can (my best guess).

  • -2

Having a bit of a brain fart what bsb and account number do I put in to transfer the money from my bank to OlduBil?

    • Think just working from Revolut or Wise. Believe it have to be transferred in Turkish Lira. Revolut and Wise convert it there. (look top of post in part 2a or 2b,.)

      • Did some more reading and worked it out have transferred the money hopefully it doesn’t take too long. Thanks.

    • +1

Commbank have waived their IMT fee so you can try that. Only applies to netbank and app transfers

  • I was too excited to get it working after resolving the credit card error message at 2am in the morning that I completely forgot to do step 4 and step 6. So I end up with just 14 months of GPU prescription (which is still great). But does anyone know if how I can extend it to 36 months using variation of the above method?

  • Ha s anyone got a refund to their Oldubil virtual MasterCard?

I had some refunds issued by Microsoft on Wednesday, but none of them have shown up yet.

Wonder if they have set it up to be one way lol

      • I'd hope so, but a week on and there's still be no refund received. I've seen refunds take a while, but never this long.

Makes me wonder if there's some Turkish regulation that says these cards without KYC cannot receive refunds.

        • Did you get your refund to your Oldubil virtual MasterCard?
I've been waiting for about 2 weeks and still nothing. I honestly doubt I'd get it.

          • @Azro: It took a long time and a lot of talking with Microsoft Support.

Have you checked your microsoft account? Does it list them as "pending"?

            • @DogGunn: When I check order history in Microsoft account I see "Refunded" status.
And Microsoft account balance: 0.00 USD (don't know why it says USD)

              • @Azro: Ahh, then contact Odubil, with screenshot of the refunded status, and tell them you've had a refund.

It may need to be processed manually.

  • I cancelled my AU subcription however when I go to Turkey Xbox Live website it says "The subscription continues automatically unless canceled through your Microsoft Account."

    what should I do?

    • Contact support, ask them to fully cancel it

    • Have you disabled auto renew?

  • I got my current subscription cancelled over the phone but now when I try to purchase any of the turkey subscriptions all I see is is manage subscriptions instead of a purchase option. Does anyone know if possibly the Windows developer subscription could be the source of the problem as that is the only active subscription at the moment?

    • +3

Someone mentioned you could purchase from the above drop down list.

      • +1

Thanks for your help, that was the solution. Anyone else stuck in this situation click on Game Pass and then Xbox Live Gold. You'll be able to purchase that subscription and then you'll be able to continue with the guide

    • same here

    • I too have this exact issue and not sure how to fix it :(

      • Have you tried to buy from the top drop down list?

        • I have but not entirely sure I am doing the right thing? Where exactly am I going

@allegiance86: It is at the top. You can see game pass beside the xbox icon. If you click it you can see a drop down list where you can click the links for gold, game pass, ultimate. You should be able to purchase from those links.

    • Glad you guys found a fix :)

    • +1

I had this problem.. I was able to add the items to wish list or favourites and then bring up that list and buy from there.
Happened on each item. (Live, Console and PC)

    Aaaand done!

I must admit I didn't read the entire process when I arranged the finance side of it last week.
Waited until today when the money transfered. Assumed I would be doing like 1 purchase and 1 upgrade. LOL!
27 purchases later! What an ordeal! Worth it though. Thanks I Smell Pennies!

    • Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

  • Wise is asking for ID so I can't take advantage of this… what a shame.
    Thanks anyway.
If anyone has an alternative option to Wise please let me know.

    • The other option mentioned, Revolut

      • Thanks but no dice… it's asking for Passport or Driver's license.
So much for "No ID" :(

        I don't have either so I'm screwed.
Thanks anyway. I guess I won't be taking advantage of this.

Forgot to put my credit card reference number while transferring. I've emailed Oldubil but in English.. Has anyone made the mistake and able to share their experience?

    • I did this with my 2nd transfer, only just realised, bought 36 months GPU and now wanted to have some Disney+ action.

I emailed Oldubil with records of previous and current transaction, I guess it's a waiting game now. Fingers crossed for you too.

      • 36 months GPU? How does that work? haha.

I'm waiting as well. Basically Oldubil saw my email and asked me to send a receipt which can be found on the transaction info in Revolut. I've downloaded the receipt pdf and sent it to them. The checked but kept saying the funds hasn't appeared on their end. I've contacted Revolut but they said that funds can take up to 5 business day to be transferred… So I'm just waiting / hoping the amount will eventually appear in the bank that I transferred to..

        • 36 months of game pass ultimate. I emailed Oldubil a few days back, still waiting, did you email in english?

          • @Frangen: I did.. but all they sent was
            'Please send receipt'
'Fund is not on our side, check with bank'

One liners.. I'll resend another email but will use Chatgpt to translate to turkish this time.

            • @Pegadeals: Mine went through, just took a while I guess

              • +1

@Frangen: Just got mine as well. Will def remember to put the right reference number next time. Enjoy mate!

  • I couldn't get more than 1 month of XBOX for console to work so ended up with about 15 months. That's enough.

I have an issue though, when I try to buy games that are discounted with XBOX Live - I see the discounted price but when I try to buy them the price isnt discounted

Take Aliens Fireteam Elite as an example
    https://www.xbox.com/tr-TR/games/store/aliens-fireteam-elite…

It is 1/2 price for a few more hours. 129.50 lira with XBOX Gold.

But if I try to buy it, it charges 250.

Also games with Gold can't be redeemed either

    • I was wondering about games with gold. So we can't claim them at all, not online turkey site or on xbox?

      • I can't, but it's not like the games are great anyway.

        • Someone earlier in this thread said that on web the games with gold games had a price on them but when they clicked on it there was an option to get it for free. I guess I should try myself now that I have three years of turkey ultimate.

            • @xwx: Sadly it's definitely trying to charge me the full 250 lira for Aliens Fireteam Elite. I have 150 lira left on Oldubil so 129.50 + fees would go through.

It is coming back insufficient funds.

              Disappointing

                • @xwx: Using both the XBOX Series X and MS Edge on my desktop PC, it shows $129TL with XBOX Live or 259TL buy.

Although I have GPU until Dec 2024, when I click on the green XBOX Live $129TL it is asking me to signup for XBOX Live again!

Phew, I did it! For some reason I felt like I was shoplifting from Big W during this process. I have 148,26 Turkey money left, gamepass ultimate expires 7.4.2026.

Now to decide if I should do the PSN method or not…

  • For those that have successfully subscribed, has anyone purchased any DLC or game with the Game Pass discount from the Turkish Xbox store and if so, are you able to download it & play the game on your Aussie Xbox or PC?

    • Yes.

Edit: maybe I misread your post.

I bought Evil Dead $5, Garfield Kart Racing for my son, and The Binding of Isaac $2.50 all from Xbox Turkey.

When some more money clears I will buy the Call of Juarez/Dyling Light 2 combo ~ $12.

      https://www.xbox.com/tr-TR/games/store/infected-cowboys-bund…

      • No, the games you bought does not have the Game Pass discount, it's just the retail price. Games or DLC with the Game Pass discount will have the Game Pass logo on the title, see this listing from the Turkey store:-

        https://www.xbox.com/tr-tr/games/all-games/console?PlayWith=…

The game A Plague Tale: Requiem has the Game Pass discount of 20% so the price if 620,00 instead of 775,00.

        • Why buy it if you can already play it free with you Gane Pass sub?

          • @Ge3ks: No, the games you bought does not have the Game Pass discount, it's just the retail price.

The Infected Cowboys Bundle has the Game Pass discount so if you are to purchase it for 211,50 instead 470,00 then that's great!

Why buy? Well the games that are not included in the Game Pass library sometimes get Game Pass discounts for example Dying Light 2 isn't included in the Game Pass library.

            • @uridotchi: I don't think they are necessarily Game Pass discounts. I think they are either part of the weekly Games with Gold sale discounts or just regular sales that are available for everyone.

  • I've transferred from Revolut (Included reference number) to oldubil yesterday around 2:30pm AEST and still waiting for funds to appear in oldubil.
Meantime….I logged onto my MS account and changed my profile region to Turkey - https://account.microsoft.com/profile. Then to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments and added a payment method for region Turkey. Accepted the card and address. The payment method shows up when I go to the purchase page - https://www.xbox.com/tr-TR/games/store/xbox-live-gold/CFQ7TT….

Haven't tried obviously as need the funds to appear….
Did anyone else transfer to oldubil yesterday and have the funds appeared for you?

    • I'm paranoid I entered it wrong or something now, Revolut says received by bank but still waiting on it popping up in my Oldubil account.

      • Just wait a few hours. It's 9am there currently.

        • Oh, I thought it was gonna be automated system, makes sense, cheers!

          • @Jasonissm: I sent mine (with the right reference, as I just double checked) on Saturday, or maybe Sunday) and I'm still waiting. I had hoped it would be in there yesterday, but now I'm a bit more anxious. Fingers crossed it'll be in there before the price hike

            • +1

@woobeforethesun: I sent mine on Wednesday last week and was finalized on Monday lunch time and I'm still waiting…
Hopefully it is done by the price hike otherwise what a waste of time…

              • @duckdodgers245: Mine arrived just now, sent it around 11am yesterday

                • @Jasonissm: Im still waiting, been refreshing like crazy…
Have sent off an email to their support to find out what is happening… So annoying…

OP you genius! 36 months in the bank!

Going to move the Spotify family to Turkey now too!

Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)
If you need help with Spotify please let me know :)

  • Is there anyway to use Revolut or Wise without ID? Both are asking for ID.
    I don't have a drivers license or a passport or Photo ID…

Is there seriously no other alternatives?. If not what a shame I gotta miss out. This would of saved me so much money.

    • I signed up with Wise via their web site without providing ID and was able to send funds to my OlduBil account.

When you get to the step where it asks for identification just open another browser window and do the required steps for transferring funds to OlduBil via this new window. Wise may ask you to log in again but it didn't ask for ID via the second browser window. I would make sure that at least your name is the same for your Wise account and the account you are withdrawing funds from.

I used a debit card for the transfer. I read on another web site that if Wise can see the funds are coming from a bank account then the ID requirement may be skipped. There may be other factors involved so don't consider this gospel.

According to my transactions history on Wise, the transfer went through successfully but as with many others, I'm still waiting (24 hours later) for the funds to show up in OlduBil.

  • I have put the money in the Revolut but I can't find the country "Turkey" in the list after clicking on New transfer.

    • +1

Scroll down and find it. It's not exactly "Turkey". I think it was "Türkiye"

      • +1

For me it just said, "Turkey." :)

      • +1

Crazy….I had to scroll down instead of search. Thanks champ

  • I wanted to get this just for Cloud gaming, but i am reading mixed things of it working and others saying it isn't working.

Can anyone kindly clarify, i've sent the funds to my OlduBil , going to suck if its not of any use, I dont own an xbox either :(

    • Incase you mean does this technique work: It has worked absolutely fine for me. I was getting nervous Monday when the funds weren't there until I was reminded about timezones lol funds were sent to olduBil via Revolut a few hours later & during the night were accessible on OlduBil. I set it up this morning and I've been trying a few games lately.

      For cloud gaming specifically:
      IDK, I don't use it.

    • +1

I just checked for you. Currently playing Fable 2 streaming it.

    • I booted up Doom Eternal via Cloud last night. Worked fine for me!

    • Cloud streaming only works on a PC. I've tried it on my iPhone & the Play button for streaming is disabled. I believe there was post here that stated it doesn't work on Android as well.

      • Yep doesn't work for me on my android tab or phone. I used to enjoy streaming Age of Empires on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. No longer an option to stream anything except via PC.

      • I just downloaded the Game Pass Android app and streaming works for me.

      • works for me on my iphone

      • Works for me on my iPhone, MacBook and console

      • I wonder that that means it also wont work on the Samsung TV app :(

Anyone else had Wise money take more than 20 hours to show up in Oldubil? I had two transactions go through about an hour apart yesterday. The first one arrived about 4 hours later. The second one still hasn't hit my account yet. It says it can take up to two days, but it feels like considering how fast other transactions hit that it should have been available long before now.

    • +1

      same thing here
my second transfer from yesterday still hasnt landed in oldubil
      its been 23 hrs
