Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

    HELP POINT using Aktifbank: Screenshots of the process for step 5 in the following order: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9)

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Everything still working fine on the game pass side, OlduBil Virtual card worked without any issues.\

    Thanks for the detailed instructions!

  • Opened Revolut and Oldubil accounts at 11AM

Initiated transfer of TKL to Oldubil on Revolut 1123AM
Sent and received at recipient bank at 112PM

    • And got my 36 months of Game Pass Ultimate! Thanks again OP!

  • is this legal can i get arrested for this

    • +10

Yeah you can. Microsoft police will be knocking at your door soon.

  • Slightly unrelated topic… .I'm unable to download any games on PC. Settings etc confirm I'm definitely on Ultimate. In the queue the games are just stuck on 0% and after a while it times out and gives me an error 0x87e00005. Uninstalled and reinstalled game centre but same issue. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • Thank you very much! Finally got myself 3 year of xBox game pass. Not sure if this would help with adding the card, I use the Random Address page to get a fake address then search for the actual postcode from Google with City and State

    • I did the same for the postcode didn’t have any problems.

  • +1

Thanks isp I now have 14 months of gpu. I’ll get you a coffee.

  • Legend, all worked. Thanks! I can see a tonne of people having issues but for me the whole process went without any hiccups. Guess that means no more good luck for me for the rest of 2023…

  • Awesome!!! Got the 36 months. Thanks very much ISP for your efforts and time spent! I can only imagine how much time it took to write this up! Your contribution to the community is greatly appreciated! And thanks to everyone who posted solutions to their issues! It’s also greatly helped!

  • I transferred the money. Wise showed it’s successfully transferred. But OlduBil not received. Send the email to info account of OlduBil and got a reply saying they haven’t received the money and “we would like to contact sender’s bank” nothing else. Don’t know what to do next

Just received the money. It took 24 hours from Wise to OlduBil…

  • I'm wondering is anyone actually trying to do this deal now if they haven't actually done the transfer yet or is it too late? I spent last night in hospital with a sick daughter and wanted to do this for the kids.

    • +1

Hey mate sorry to hear about the daughter hope she's getting better.

I tried this yesterday and it worked but if I were you I'd get on this ASAP as it can take time transferring from Revolut to OlduBil

    • +1

I would give it a shot. I initiated the transfer with Revolut today around lunch time, and saw the money into my oldubil account around 8pm (could have been earlier, but that's when I checked). Just finished completing all the steps for 36months.

  • I've got a wierd error.

When i go to the Turkish Microsoft store to attempt to purchase, there is no "Buy button" but instead a "Manage Subscription" button. I however dont have an active subscription. I have also tried in Incognito incase it was a caching issue.

    See screenshot
    Buy Page
    Subscription Managment

    What should i do?

  • Thanks for this amazing write up! Have 36 months on my account now

  • Does anyone know how to test if I have access to gold benefits? I have already claimed this month's gold game before canceling my last subscription.

It seems cloud gaming works fine for me on both console and android. On my phone, sometimes I need to log out and log in again to get my ultimate recognized.

    • Did you claim both Darkwood and The Vale?

    • Try buying a game that is part of "Deals with Gold". Max Payne 3 for example will be $17.97 AUD on the Australian Xbox Store if you have Gold benefits, if you don't it will be $29.95 AUD and the page will say that you can save $11.98 with Gold.

  • Thanks ISP for the 36 months, instructions were great and to the point.

My experience, the delay sending from Wise and received by OlduBil was nerve racking.

If anyone is curious or is still waiting for funds to hit OlduBil.
I received confirmation of the transfer from Wise at 8PM on 03/07 and the funds hit OlduBil at 8:30PM on 04/07.

  • +1

Dumb question, but can you turn off re-occurring billing after the final step of purchasing the 1x month game pass ultimate and converting all the other passes to 36 months GPU?

edit: cloud gaming works in case anyone is on the fence :)

    • What platforms have you tried cloud gaming on? Only works on PC for me

      • pc and android phone work for me

      • I'm struggling with cloud gaming - anyone had luck on this?

      • Playing on my Samsung TV (no Xbox) absolutely fine

  • +1

Thanks alot OP - I have now gone through it and got the 36 :)

Heres my transfer record for others that might be waiting.

Transfered 27th - Recieved early 3rd (after holiday)
Transfered 4th (9am~) - Recieved 9pm~ (twice, did two transactions because I did short for first..)

  • Hi All,
Just thought I'd share my thank you! I got it to work

Used Revolt, did the transfer last night and the money arrived in the morning.

I ended up buying an extra month of the first sub by accident. I was on the 14month version, instead of 36 month. Other than that it was smooth and a little slow of a process.

  • Worked like a charm! Took about 24 hours for the money to get into the oldubil account but after that it was smooth sailing. Thanks for the deal :)

  • Unfortunetly Cloud Gaming inst working on the Samsung Tv App for me.
    Works on PC

  • Just did this! Luckily had no issues. Process was time consuming but so worth it. Now I just need to find time to play these games

  • Hi,

ISP, thank you for the effort. I think I saw that this method only works if you no longer have games pasa ultimate subscription. I still have until Aug 2023, what is the best way to take advantage of this? New Xbox account or I can just top up?

    • +1

Give MS a call and cancel the membership. If you cancel online then you'll still have to wait till Aug 23. However having said that, you're cutting quite close to the expiry of this deal so you'll have to act fast and transfer the money into the turkish virtual card ASAP.

      • I was able to cancel immediately via live chat.

  • Not trying to scare anyone off but I had the card issue, I tried to contact microsoft to allow my Oldubil card, they immediately noted that there was a history of my account being loacted in Australia and that the transaction is suspicious. I just got an email confirming their decision to block all transactions on my account, even in Australia. I am in the process of appealing.

Hopefully I just got unlucky but I wouldn't recommend people do this on their main accounts. (My account I have used for years but currently have no active subscriptions)

    • If you have a xbox, go to settings, change the region to turkey then add the credit card there, see if that still works…

      • Thanks but I already tried. The ban is tied to my microsoft account.

        • sad face

        • It's likely I will be joining you soon. I was using my secondary account initially, but after repeated failures, I thought I try adding a new payment to Turkey region on my main account. Big mistake. After reading what you wrote, I tried to add an AU payment back in, it is refusing to let me.

It appears that the longer we stay with Microsoft, the more information Microsoft has on us. This one strike and you are out for long time customers is really disappointing.

          • @netsurfer: Yes, if it matters I figured I have nothing to lose now, so I made a new microsoft account and it worked fine.

So it's bittersweet, hopefully I can get my main account reinstated.

            • @enthusiastenthusiast: Hope you get your main account back soon. I don't get the logic, the transaction wasn't fraudulent, and if Microsoft wants to tie people to single region, then why offer an option to add a payment method in a different region?

              • @netsurfer: Maybe that option is for people who have moved to different country? It's not for us to region hopping while still living in one country.

                • @edfoo: No, Microsoft Web site allows people to add in payment methods for other regions. If that's not allowed, why offer that?

As for region change, that's allowed. I've done one properly before (asked XBox Support to do it for me). Microsoft responded to me on my main account, indicating it was pre-auth got cancelled and asked me to check with my bank. Weirdly, it now works so main account is sorted.

Honestly, deep down, I don't think Microsoft cares about what we are doing, it's either we pay Microsoft a discounted amount to get GamePass Ultimate or not getting it.

                  • @netsurfer: I didn't say we couldn't do it, we can just like what all of us have done here with this deal. But it is not Microsoft's intention for us to use it this way.

                    • @edfoo: We are talking about different things. I'm talking about this:

                      • Not changing my account region (still Australia).
                      • Add a payment method for another region (which is allowed by Microsoft) on the Web site.

If that's allowed, then that should work. If that's not allowed, then the Web site shouldn't offer it. I am not talking about using that to get this deal. I have changed region officially before. In my account, it shows multiple currencies. Thus, I don't get why adding Turkey would lock AU payment methods (since years ago, I was in a different region with a credit card from a different country).

Also, everyone's situation is different. For mine, Microsoft's official response is that it is a card issue.

                    • @edfoo: Just to clarify, for me to actually get this deal (which I'm 99.99% sure it won't happen), the situation is different. Microsoft and OlduBil are both unclear what exactly the issue is (especially OlduBil). It's obvious Microsoft knows what I am trying to do and yet the CSRs still tried to help.

Honestly, Microsoft doesn't care. It's either let us use the loophole or we won't buy GamePass Ultimate.

              • @netsurfer: Thanks, like I said I got it to work on a fresh account but I would like my old account back. My old account isn't blocked, I still have access to everything. I just can't add new payment methods. They have denied reinstating it twice now but I went through Microsoft, not xbox this time so hopefully a different result.

                • @enthusiastenthusiast: You can probably get support to transfer the subscription between the accounts negating the need for a different payment method

                • @enthusiastenthusiast: Thank you so much for this message. Microsoft locked the account I've been trying to get it to work and asked me to contact the card issuer. The reality is Microsoft locked it and refused to unlock it (and refused to let me know). The last CSR I spoke to, while helpful, gave me the wrong info.

When my main account was locked, I was told Microsoft vouchers will still work. I thought you meant your account got fully banned so I quickly used up all my reward points on as many non Microsoft products. However, the last few remaining points were not enough to exchange for a non-Microsoft gift card, so I exchanged for a $5 Microsoft voucher. It got added automatically to the main account.

It's fairly easy to buy Microsoft vouchers from EB or JB.

        • I would suggest to talk to MS saying that for some reason your account is banned. And play the innocent card of knowing nothing. You have all your Australian cards and ID available. It shouldn’t be a big issue to get it back.

    • You're not alone.

I'm in the same boat, also escalated with Microsoft again, fingers crossed…

EDIT: Also ended up creating a new account and managed to get the 36 months.

I got the same email, saying that after they investigated my query about my blocked account they the noted suspicious activity on my account and would no longer accept any payments or purchaded on my account.

That freaked my out, but then after an hour or 2 I though, meh, i'll try to add my Australian CC back in and that worked.. tried the OlduBil CC… and that worked too!

Then worked through the process and now had 36 months GPU for ~60AUD!

      Try again later.

      • I've tried to add my australian car +24 hours since and still no luck. I think i'm going to need it manually overruled.

        • Vouchers still work when my account was blocked from adding new payment method. I added $5 voucher to my account when it was blocked, but I couldn't find anything worth buying (so it still sits there). The $5 voucher exchanged via rewards does have an expiry (unlike ones purchased form JB or EB).

Had too many issues and freaked out about some of the issues people had with their main accounts.
So I made a new one, and it let me add the card fine. So doing the main transfer across now and hoping it is there tomorrow.
My only worry is if cloud gaming will work at all, which is my main reason to get it.

    Thanks for the great guide.

    • If you're in for Cloud gaming especially for Samsung TV or android, id avoid it. It seems to be ok on PC

      • Working fine for me on Samsung TV (without an Xbox)

        • Thats killer. i wonder why it works for some people and not others.
Dosnt work on Samsung TV or android for me :(

    • @notauser hahah, thanks for your support mate! Appreciate it. Enjoy your GPU 😊

  • Same as another user. Have been tied up in hospital. With the time difference in Turkey can this deal to still used or they proccessing tmes would be too long?

    • I'd like to know too. If i start this process tonight will i get it in time?

  • Whilst waiting for the Lira to send I had a quick browse on MS Turkey store - Diablo IV seems to be around 20% cheaper (i.e. around ~$80AUD for Standard Ed). Tempted to also get that after the last deal was bounced.

    • +1

I saw the same - wish it was a bit cheaper as physical copy is $89.

  • could someone get me 14 months? i can't use the apps. would very much appreciate it. iv'e got the money i just can't do this process myself without a phone number and unable to access revolt

Do you know any of your family members or friends can help you out? It's just too much data sharing and security risk for unknown people here to do this for you.

      • i know it sounds a bit awkward but i'm happy to risk it, i trust people on here. just need to find someone happy to help me out. iv'e responded to a guy who accidentally put too much money into the oldubil account

        • Have you asked any of your family members or friends first? I would do that first.

Appreciate the time it takes you to produce these detailed guides. Thanks OP, you’ve saved me hundreds of dollars.

    • @BangkokBreakfast Thanks for your support mate! Appreciate it and I'm glad I could help you save some money. Enjoy your GPU 😊

  • This is amazing thank you! Mine expires next October…. I can't use this to extend right? I have to do it after it expires ?
