Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Almost 24 hours for me, still not here yet. Hope it comes soon.

      • Finally received the money after about ~25 hours from time of transfer from the Wise mobile app. Just finished subbing to the 3 year ultimate thing!

        • Yeah mine was about 26 hours. Was just relieved it worked. Feels like you might have made a mistake somewhere when it takes so long

  • Sent money yesterday twice and oldubil said nothing was sent at all from revolut…gg rip

    • Mine took like six days over the weekend and holiday. It took over 24 hours after Wise confirmed jt was sent to show up in old ubil.

    • Oh damn, I sent the money about 4 hrs ago and nothing's popped up yet. I know I'm cutting it fine with the July 6th deadline. Guess I was just hoping for a quick transfer.

    • Send an email to OlduBil as per FAQ!!! Do it ASAP

  • If i put money into revolt now how long roughly for it to move over? Have i missed the boat?

  • Hi, can anyone help/suggest. I transferred the money yesterday noon through wise but it did not came in oldubil account.
I checked with their customer support through email and shared the wise receipt but they are asking for bank transaction receipt. How do I get the bank transfer receipt when I have transferred through wise.
Am I missing something here. thanks

    • Is it in your account yet? My transfer I did at 5:54pm yesterday just went in my account.

      • No, still not in my oldubil account.

        • I transferred on 28 June and it still not appear

  • Hoping to get some help as I made a boo-boo here.

I wanted to sign up for 36 months ultimate, but in my haste I followed the instructions for Part 3, not Part 4. I got as far as purchasing 4x 3 month Gold subscription and 1x 1 Month Gold subscription.

Am I able to still get 36 months? What's the best thing I can do here? Trying to continue with Part 4 (buying 11x 1 month Xbox Game Pass for PC) takes me to this page (refer https://ibb.co/LxTKk5d) where I can 'manage subscription'.

    Thanks!

    • I had the exact same issue as you (kept directing to 'subscription management' page after my first 3 month purchase, no matter what link I tried.
I got in contact with MS chat support and they told me there was a lock placed on the account to 'avoid unnecessary multiple charges'… and could take 24-72 hours to unlock on their end :'( … just checked again now, and its still stuck with the same issues :(
my dramas are on page 15 in comments

      • +2

I hope you put on your best Turkish accent when calling MS.

    • If you’ve not converted you may want to try the menu bar and choose the appropriate option from the game pass button in the menu. I was able to use this when I saw the manage subscription message.

      • Oh? I clicked around everywhere and couldn't find it using English translation.
What about buying it using the Xbox console itself? Anyone try that yet, I'm too scared to myself :)

        • When you click on one of the direct links in the OP post from their click on the menu? You may want to share a screenshot :)

      • I owe you one!
I gave it a go and your right, using the top nav bar did the trick!!!
One tip I suggest to anyone else having this issue > when you select the plan from the top nav bar - 'let the page fully load' (meaning images also) before clicking buy.
        I had 100% success - thanks again

        • let me know on how to get Cloud gaming working and we'll be even!

  • Just reading through the last few pages…

Is it easier if you have an Xbox1 to change region to Turkey and add Oldubil card on there, and then do the purchasing on the PC (to avoid some others having the card issue and needing to go on live chat to have account unblocked)

I’ve got the balance sorted in my Oldubil account as of this morning and ready to go through the process, but hoping to avoid the account being locked.

Any suggestions for best way to go forward from here?

Or is the account lock thing just randomly occurring?

    • I don't think you even need an xbox to do this deal. I did it all on my MacBook. And the Old Ubil app. And the Wise app.

      • Correct. I don't even have an xbox, and I've done this and signed up 3 times now.

    • Yes, my son just switched his console to turkey and we added my Oldubil credit card with no issues. He just bought a game.

    • @R1ngSt1nger
Did this process work for you?

I'm currently waiting for the money to appear in Oldubil, ready to purchase 36 months, and this method theoretically sounds best to avoid MS locking accounts.

    • +1

Okay, so I just followed instructions and crossed my fingers and it all worked perfectly.

Didn't have any account lock issues. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones (along with others). Seems to be a bit hit or miss.

In any case, thank you ISP for your help, such a great deal!!

OlduBil is providing live support via Instagram during local Turkish business hours 8am to 6pm (3pm AEST to 1am AEST).

    See here.

    • Is their live support provided in English or Turkish only?

      • You'll find out if you need to use it lol

        • I'm going in. Wish me luck.

            • @Breno785au: Given they ignored my message in English, I think it may be mission failure. I have not returned. 😞

              • @DogGunn: What about Google translate?

                • @Breno785au: I got a message back at 5am this morning saying email them at their normal contact address

                  Very helpful lol

    • I sent them a message in English at 8.10pm and got a response almost 4 hrs later, unfortunately when I was in bed. They responded in English and asked me to email them the transaction receipt. I've emailed them and responded back on insta…..hoping I get the funds today, fingers crossed before the 6th!

Also, I just signed up to 36 mths for a mate this mornibg. Had to ask MS Support about the virtual card block, which they instantly acknowledged as per other peoples experiences. Soon after I was able to add my virtual card and shop away!

Will post an update to top of post regarding this issue and also FAQ section.

I hope everyone can get their subs in before the price hike!!

    • +1

I think Microsoft don't even really care so much, maybe in their eyes after 36 months we'll be so reliant on the service that we'll just pay $18.95 per month.

      • +1

Yeah they don't really care. I just updated the post so people stop asking the same question 500 times.

        • Microsoft asked me to wait 24 hours for them to remove the block.

          • @netsurfer: It's not exactly 24 hours, many had theirs unblocked within hours

            • @I Smell Pennies: Well aware of that. But I am in the unlucky group. Transferred through Wise, then switched to Revolut, just missed the holiday cutoff, then OlduBil didn't process the payment in the order received. Then, the Microsoft block. First CSR had no idea. Second CSR said the OlduBil card can switch region so it is not locked to Turkey, but will send the request to have the account unblocked. Tried to check again today, third CSR said it is not 24 hours yet.

              • @netsurfer: I'm having exact same problem. Spoken to 3 CSRs and not getting anywhere. At least I was able to get the 13 months before getting stuck. Better than nothing

Edit: spoke to a 4th CSR and now they've removed the block. Same 24-48hr wait as previously reported so we'll wait and see

    • I just did it for a mate 15mins ago and the payment method went straight through which was great, no need to contact MS shrugs

  • need advise, so i signed up 36months, and converted to GPU pass. However when trying to download games on xbox console, example Darkwood game. Its free with XBOX live gold. But its still display as "Free with Xbox Live Gold, join now" button

When i click on it, it brings me to the "managed subscriptions" its almost like it doesn't recognized GPU pass?
basically gives me the option to join xbox pass again? wth?
Is anyone experiencing the same thing?
Doesnt make a difference if i stay in turkey region or switch back to Australia?

    • If it is on a console, restart it. It happened to be once years ago. The subscription doesn't get reflected for some reason. If still not working, contact Microsoft XBox Support.

    • @andy2 yes that happened to me, too.

      • ok so it seems like gamepass games works however, cloud gaming doesnt and can not claim xbox gold free games of the month.
Anyone about to claim xbox gold games of the month?

        • I'm having the same problem with Gold benefits but cloud gaming works fine for me, there are a number of people on the Microsoft forums and Reddit who are having trouble as well. This seems to occur for some accounts when transitioning from Gold to Game Pass Ultimate.

    • Mine said I had gamepass right away, but it took a few hours for the "Welcome to Gamepass" notification to pop up. I'm still not sure how to claim Games with Gold games though. I can't claim on the xbox and I can't see them on the app or website. Ozbargain used to have deals with links to the Games with Gold games but I can't find the latest one.

  • I contacted Microsoft support last night but trying again as still locked with adding the card info.
I don't think I'll make it in time as tomorrow is the last day right?

  • I'm having trouble with Part 4, Step 5. When I click the purchase button, it takes me to account management.
I was able to get around this for the previous steps, but can't work it out for 'games pass for console'.

    Anyone else have this issue?

    • Did you reload the purchasing page after cancelling auto renew?

      • Yep, auto renew is off.
Had this issue with steps 1 and 3 as well, but I could get around it by selecting the right option from the "game pass" drop down box at the top of the page.

No luck with step 5 though?

        • Yeh, auto renew is off but did you refresh the page where you purchase the game pass?
I found I had to refresh it every time after cancelling auto renew otherwise it only had the manage subscription button.

          • @Breno785au: Correct. Refresh after each purchase.

            • @I Smell Pennies: I have refreshed. but this is happening the first time I click the link in step 5. Still not working.

Any ideas? Even when I hover my curser over the purchase button, the link says it will take me to my account

          • @Breno785au: I have refreshed. but this is happening the first time I click the link in step 5.
            Still not working.

  • Will this work with xbox home family feature ?

Reason is that i already have a game pass utimate for 3 months left, so could share it on home xbox voa new profile

  • +2

    cheers mate
got u a some money for the coffee

    • Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

  • Anyone, knows what happens if you get more than 36 months of combined subscriptions?
I started with 14 months and then I changed my mind.
    So far I have
    - 13 months of Xbox Live Gold
    - 12 months of PC Game Pass
    - 2 months of Xbox Game Pass for Console (currently purchasing these)
Should I continue until I get 35 months in total and then get the 1 month Game Pass Ultimate?

    • +1

You can't get more than 36 months as the max is 36 months. So proceed as you were doing.

      • It worked!!! I got the 36 months Game Pass Ultimate.
Thank you so much. You are a legend!!!

  • +2

Thanks so much for the effort put into the deal @I Smell Pennies
    This is brilliant.

Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

  • I am waiting for oldubil to receive cash I sent last night @10PM. Trying to get a hold of them on insta. Time will tell :)

    • Sorted! I emailed oldubil's [email protected] and provided my card number as well as the transfer receipt from Revolut … voila. Fixed in < 1 hour.

  • +1

Hi mate, made a profile just to say that this worked perfectly for me!

Created accounts via Revolut / Oldubil without issues (provided ID for Revolut)

03/07 - Transferred $70aud to Revolut 04/07, converted entirely to Lira
03/07 - Transferred Lira from Revolut to Oldubil
03/07 - Revolut notified that transaction was sent / received successfully, waited 4 hours without receiving in Oldubil without luck so went to bed
04/07 - Oldubil was loaded minus approx 70 lira for fees
04/07 - Added the Turkish credit card to my primary profile prior to following steps (added via the payment method section and ensured it was selected for Turkey payments)
04/07 - Followed your exact steps, now loaded with 36 months of game pass ultimate!

To confirm for others, did not have any issues what so ever adding the card, didn't have to contact support and I have previously had gold, gamepass PC and gamepass ultimate all previously and this still worked! Only had to make sure it expired naturally before I attempted this.

Finally got Ultimate pass for 36mos, phew!
However, I can see in my wallet transactions that I was charged TRY 44,99 twice. Balance also reflected -44,99 x 2.
I checked Microsoft Billing history and it only has 1 transaction there.
Should I give it sometime (will it reverse on its own?) or should I contact Oldubil now and ask for refund?

    • Wait a bit for now to see if it reverses. Because OlduBil will charge like a 20TL fee apparently, and there's no guarantee they'll give it back.

    • mate use it on more codes for me! i cannot access revolt or oldbuli!

i'd pay of-course and it would be massively appreciated

      -Callum

  • Worked for 14months for myself as per the guide.

Transferred from Revolut on 27/06, arrived in OlduBil on 03/07.

All payments successful and subscriptions off. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from now until 04/09/24.

  • anyone about to claim xbox gold games of the month on xbox console?

    • works fine claiming them

  • Hello, I messed up and didn't add my VCC in the reference field before sending from Revolut, is there a way to remedy this?

    • +1

Write to OlduBil Support, they should help.

  • AH, spewing! my second transfer just went through and hogwarts legacy went up in price : (

    • +1

Just tried transfering $9AUD via commbank into my OlduBil account. No fees, didn't want to do the $25 min via Rev. Will let you guys know if it actually works!

      • Thought the whole point of using wise/revolut was to let you transfer it in TRY rather than AUD.
Keen to know if AUD actually worked and if there are any downsides (e.g. worse conversion rates)

  • I'm an idiot and for one of my transfers, I didn't do the conversion step and just sent them AUD (but I remember somewhere I wrote what I get in TRY?). Not sure what happens?…. It says reciever will get XXX TRY in the details in Revolut.

Only unsure because I did another properly afterwards and just recieved it. But not the first where I didn't convert…….

    EDIT: got funds!

  • So close, yet so far. I sent the lira with Revolut on Sunday at 2:30pm WAST and I'm still waiting for it to hit my OlduBil account. I checked the transaction details in Revolut and it says it was received by OlduBil yesterday. I've double checked the details used to send and everything appears to be in order.

I saw a recent update to this post about some dramas, some were having adding the virtual card to their Microsoft account, so I attempted to at least do that and it was accepted first time of asking. Now I'm just waiting (and a bit stressed it's taking longer for me than some others have reported) to clear the funds before the price increases.

    • +1

I'm still waiting as well mate. Although I went ahead and added the card to my Microsoft account already and all was accepted. Just waiting for that money to clear now…

  • Is there currently an issue with the xbox store. I cannot log on. Trying to get my son 14month as some more Lira in account.
The CC went into his MS account no issues using same address as in mine.
    https://www.xbox.com/tr-TR/games/store/xbox-live-gold/CFQ7TT…

    • All good. Was the account and managing it. Changed few settings. Got a very happy boy now. And I got 117lira left.

  • Finally, received my balance.
It took 24hours since I made the revolut transfer.

  • +1

This is amazing thank you, worked perfectly for me! Thank you for putting together such detailed instructions. Some more coffees heading your way!

  • +1

Finally got my money in Oldubil after around ~25 hours from time of transfer from the WIse mobile app and just finished making multiple purchases for a total of 36 months of XGPU!

ISP you absolute legend!! Thank you very much for the detailed guide.

  • Bought the Series X version of Werewolf The Apocalypse for 17 lira. That's less than $1.

The game is currently 90% off in Australia, too. $8.99 AUD.

So these sale items in Turkey are especially cheap. It's like a sale that is on sale. Ha.

  • +3

Can you please add that cloud gaming doesnt work, thats one of the main reason why I had ultimate game pass.

    • +3

Cloud gaming works fine for me, I don't have access to Gold benefits though. I think there are problems with Game Pass Ultimate right now, Microsoft have already acknowledged the Gold benefits issue on their forums, maybe this is related? There seem to be issues occurring with access after converting Gold to Game Pass Ultimate regardless of location/region.

      • Hey i got it working, I did two things not sure which one actually fixed it.
First thing was i went to this link, https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/home/contact?SourceApp=s…, typed something into the example box and then clicked "contact support" when it popped up at the bottom. I then clicked on "xbox" in the dropdown and then got a suggestion to change my region of which I change to aus time.
The other thing I did was cancelling the subscription which i think helped reset my store or subscription preference back to the aud store. I didnt know this but cancelling your sub will cancel all 3 years of your built up credit so i had to go into live chat to get them to re-add all that back to my account, once i got the three different 12 month subs back again i signed up to ultimate in the aud store and it combined all the into ultimate again but now cloud gaming is working.

        • +1

If your region is Aus and the support reloads 3 x 12month subs to your account, that basically means they give you 36 month Aus game pass instead of Turkey game pass.

          • @tianyujojo: Yea possibly, or they converted to aus when i purchased my aus ultimate subscription
