Purchased this iPad Pro for work at Officeworks this morning with 10% discounted gift cards from this Coles ultimate gift card deal.

Officeworks price beat made the price $1818.30, and the discounted gifted card provided a discount of $181.83, making the end price $1636.47.

Also purchased the gift cards using this deal so hopefully get my velocity points soon.

128gb Silver is also on sale for $1749, would be $1661.55 after Officeworks price beat. Then stack with ultimate home gift cards to bring the total price to $1495.40

Add the Magic Keyboard and it’s almost a laptop but much more flexible.
That XDR screen is pretty sweet but I went for the 11”.

    • Yeah I’m rocking the Magic Keyboard with my 12.9 as a Mac Book replacement. Only downside is the amount of weight the keyboard adds but it’s because it needs the weight to counter balance the screen hovering the way it does. I love it though.

    • Yep I have then 1st gen iPad pro 11 and its a great size, just wanted to get the 12.9inch for the XDR screen. Also need to find a good deal on the magic keyboard.

    • Kinda depends on what you want. I wouldn't say an iPad+Magic Keyboard is more flexible than a MacBook in terms of software.

      • Agree, which is why I paired my iPad Pro with a Mac Min

The larger screen doesn't outweigh the inconvenience of the extra weight. These are too heavy to use comfortably. 10.9" is the sweet spot. Plus it's too $$$

    • Big is king.

    • Agreed; approaches three times the price of an iPad Air on special for marginal additional value.

Can I receive Optus SMS on this? Asking for a friend.

Try as I may, still fail to see the discounted value on such way over-priced, run-of-the-mill item.

    • Tell me about it. Who uses these things when you can get a Laptop for half the price?

      • My usage is as a second screen for my mac laptop when travelling. The size is good for this, and I know it will "just work" won't need to be cabled etc. When I'm not using it as a display it is a very decent tablet.. nice two birds one expensive stone.

        • You know you can get 4k standalone portable display from AliExpress for like 2-300 dollars right?

It's your money at the end of the day but I can't understand the point of a tablet.

          • @itsmoe: yep. I have a 2K touch screen from Ali I stopped using as it was fiddley, bulky ( touch didn't work on OSX but was fine on windows). I have a cheap android tablet I used duet display on as well. at the end of the day this is going to have the feature set and performance I am after, and no its not cheap or value for money .. but I can also argue I wasted even more money trying out cheaper alternatives (though I have repurposed them).

            • @Elijha: No that's cool. If it works best for you and it does the job and it does it well, then that's fair enough. I think you're case is a little different to those who just buy it to use it as a tablet. But I see why you did it.

    Who uses these things

Suppose peeps with way more cents than sense?

    • +4

Yep, why drive AMG benz when you can have the BETTER Camry. I guess, it make sense it if you have more cents.

    • Waiting for people to post discount on Apple Vision Pro.

      • It's coming, don't worry…
