Extra $242 for a memory upgrade

The funny thing with this old ipad… its really only good for consumption and 64 gig is prob enough. Nobody will be taking photos/videos on this

    • +3

It's not about the photos and videos, apps can be large sometimes, and so can os updates. 64gb will fill up quickly, as you're already not actually getting 64gb of space ootb, is probably closer to 50gb usable space.

    • 64 gig is certainly not enough. With consumption you might download TV series or movies to watch, particularly if travelling. If you ask anyone who uses an iPAD regularly they will tell you that 64 Gig is nowhere near enough.

      • +1

It's criminal to be making anything 64gb in 2025, it wouldn't cost much more to have 128 or 256 standard

        • -1

This is old technology. I think the current generation iPADs start at 128gb but happy if someone has info to contradict.

          • +1

@try2bhelpful: The curr model (10) is also 64GB

            • @roonie: Yeah but I think it is actually an old model. If you look at the Apple site it isn’t current model.

      • +2

"ask anyone…"… yes thanks for asking, I've been fine with my 64gb ipad 10th gen, and as a very frequent traveller I've not run into any issues.

      • -1

I use my 64gb iPad daily and it’s fine. I guess I don’t have kilos of hentai that I need to store, tho.

Just put a memory card in it… Oh wait!…

        • +1

Actually with the usb-c models the memory isn’t as important. I would still have more than 64gb but you can on-load/offload to a usb connected hard drive relatively easily now.

    • Apple use the storage upgrade as a ploy to get you to buy a more premium iPad model. No offers of a128gb option for an in between price. 64gb may suit some users now but longterm it can certainly become a problem for those users as OS and apps grow in size. The lack of a 128gb variant is the real crime. But then you might not consider the Air model if that was the case.

I don’t download media on my iPad and is at 75gb use. I do have a few games though. Everybody usage will obviously vary. I only have 32gb of use on my Samsung tablet which is primarily used for media consumption. iPads are inferior to Android tablets for media consumption and Android tablets are significantly cheaper. I choose to use my cheap old tab S5e for media consumption over my iPad Pro. Because i prefer the oled screen and aspect ratio means less bezels.

This is perfect for those that complain about only having 64GB!

these have been 597 at office works for a while for those with no membership or not near a costco

  • They have doordash delivery yet?

  • Paid $607 back in 2022 for this.

Crazy that they're still selling it for so much.

  • If I was looking at a new iPAD I would consider the new Mini

    https://www.costco.com.au/Computers/iPads-Tablets/iPads/Appl…

    • It's more expensive, so what is the consideration?

      • Better processor and doesn’t have the button. Also the smaller format works better for carrying around.

        • Sure, but for almost $200 more?

          • @Trishool: Just throwing it out there as an alternative. This format works well with smaller footprint bags and public transport. Also I really don’t like the button chewing into screen real estate.

  • I have an iPAD pro 11” with a USB-C connector. I can attach a hard drive directly to it. You will need an adapter using the lightning connector.

      "Ex-Lease Apple Ipad 9th Generation"

"Good condition, some usage marks on screen ( Does not affect Ipad functionality"

      Something to keep in mind

Hmmm. I think I would pay a tad more for new rather than second hand.

        • I agree. I did not realise it was second hand so my bad.

          • +1

@CL123: No probs. I checked out the site briefly and I didn’t notice either. They weren’t’t exactly highlighting this fact.

      • I did not see that so thanks for pointing it out. Pays to read the fine print!!!
