Yep worked for me but might depend on your store

  • +6

Done it 10x took a few hour ended up with 1k of free money ty op i wish this process can be automated

    • $333 per hour tax free is pretty decent.

    • +1

How did you earn 1k, did you cash it out in some way? Or what did you spend it on?

    • +1

Hope you used the copy card number function instead of typing every card number…..wished it didnt take me 2 days to figure it out…

    • +1

so, you mean you did 10 lots 5 x $250 or 10 x $100 cards?? (one $250 card is only a discount of $18.70 on the face value, so, to get $1000 discount you would have to purchase 53 cards?) If so, taking a chance with that, as some people find that they get hacked and the balance is drained before you can use it. Alright if you plan to use them asap, but even then no guarantees. I just got 3 x $250 and used them all straight away for charity donations ready for tax return next month.

      • -1

People think they will be hacked s8 away are wrong . Maybe .0001% which is easily covered in the risk/reward equation .
And those doing moves properly do not comment on numbers.
And add no need to worry about hacking as they are gone as fast as they turn up .

        • +3

whatevs mate…some have had the card drained before they even get it, so it is a chance anyway you look at it.

      • how much tax return you expecting for $750 worth of dono?

    • +2

250x10 = 2313 xfer to paypal into bank acc 2433.70 (based on paypal xfer fees)

      120.7 x 10= 1207

      • lol, not sure about those figures 10 x $18.70 discount on the face value of the $250 card is only $187 savings on $2500 worth of cards? To get a savings close to $1000 you have to purchase 53 x $250 cards

        • +2

He did 10 lots of 10, so 100 $250 cards.

      • +1

How are you transferring into PayPal balance?

      • @digitalerr0r how did you transfer into bank from PayPal please? Do you send a payment from your PayPal to another paypal address, and then withdraw?

        • yes, I just made another account after the balance reached 2433.70 I just send it to the main account which has (bank details bsb etc)

  • I think they’re detecting MAC addresses. I’ve struggled to buy off the same device again

    • +1

Maximum order value $2,500. One order per customer.

      This is not true.
Bought 3 times 6x $250 on same device.

      • How did you buy 3 times?

        • +2

2 times yesterday, 1 time today. Why don't you try it?

  • How do we combine 10 card value into one card?

Need to purchase something from IKEA worth $6500… But IKEA won't allow so many split payments so if anyone knows method of buying multiple this cards and transfer cash on to single card or payment system which will allow paying IKEA in one go ?

Also where to get Amazon discount gift card apart from shopback?

    • +1

Can you buy the IKEA gift cards using the cards preloaded in PayPal?

      • -1

IKEA even has limitations on how many of their gift card you can use in one transaction… !

        • +1

Really? I was under the impression you could use an unlimited number of Ikea gift cards in a transaction as someone has done it before: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11272828/redir

          • @wangasm: Thanks, I wasn't aware of it as in past someone said only 5 gift card can be used maximum at IKEA.

So next question is where to buy $250 worth IKEA gift card ?

I found that shopback has HOME gift card that can be used for IKEA and it has value of $250 which is great but can we use say 20 "Home" gift card for IKEA all together?

            • @SydBoy: Yes you can get the home card, but what you do is swap the home card for the Ikea card, so you are still using Ikea cards.

Note Shopback don't let you add that many prepaid cards in a short period of time. Might have to space it out over a few days

Alternatively Cashrewards also has Ikea cards, but has activation delay

              • @wangasm: thanks again.. i didn't know that's how it works… !

            • @SydBoy: maybe try stack with this deal if you can https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/777393 . Considering its a Coles MC probably they have blocked gift card purchases with prepaid Coles MCs

              • @rekke: Coles deal give only $100 worth only so it will be too much an effort to pay $5k+ amount

        • +1

There is no limit in Australia. You're probably looking at some international IKEA site if that's the information you're seeing.

  • Anyone know if SRO will accept these, and if they have a limit of paying land tax or if it is even possible at all?

    • +2

Yes, I've paid SRO using these. What you want to do is key in 248.88 to offset the 0.4% card charge.

      • Should be $249 and $1 card charge?
        $250 / 1.004 = $249.

That's how I have been doing it - and $249.50 with 50c charge with ATO payments

        • My bad, it's actually 0.45%.

      • So how manys days takes to update the owing balance at SRO website?

        • Around a day after.

          • @shadowfangz: Thanks
            I paid yesterday afternoon.
            Will check again on Monday.

  • Cards are not working with the Liven app. Declined.

    • +1

Why would you use this directly? You should use this to buy the restaurant choice digital gc first ($10 off $200), then pay with trc on liven.

      • +1

        whats trc

        • +5

          Tablelands Regional Council

        • +1

It's in the reply, "the restaurant choice"

      • Where are you getting The Restaurant Choice GCs for 10 off 200?

        • “New subscribers”, code in email

  • Actually anybody tried to add this gift card to Apple/Google Wallet and use it?

    • I tried to add to Apple Wallet and failed.

    • I tried to add to Google Wallet and failed

  • -3

Seems like an awful amount of work to save only $187 on $2500, especially since the cards can somehow be hacked or already used?

    • +1

Someone has done 10x already. So a handy $1.87k for them.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13834906/redir

      • When you have 2 or 3 kids in private schools, a couple of council fees, taxes to pay etc

20k is a small amount to buy but has large savings

        • Is this from personal experience?

        • Did you go big with this deal?

    • 5 mins work for $187 is pretty swell.

      • +13

Took me about 5 mins too, but has now taken a few hours of my life reading this 20+ page thread.

        • +8

I'm in the same boat but it's strangely entertaining.

    • I'm up to 18 cards and plan to buy another 10

      • Did you already used all your cards?

        • Not who you're replying to but I bought two lots of 10x$250 (so 20 cards total) on the first day of the deal. Used up all of them within 10 minutes of them being delivered.

    • +6

So we spend countless hours on a bargain forum looking out for deals to save us a couple dollars, but then when an effective free 1.075x money multiplier offer comes up its too much effort.

  • can't seem to add it as a payment to the shop pay app :(

also anyone know if can be used on international purchases without conversion fees?

    • IIRC, I couldn't use it for international purchases anymore after all the hacking. might have been disabled as a security measure and pretty sure it says australia only somewhere.

    • You can fire away with 3% currency conversion fee. I prefer to buy some discounted gift cards with the MC where there is no currency conversion on some of them .

  • Tried many times, couldn't get it to work :(

  • +1

Paid $231.30 for $250 gc. Convert it into $260.41 woolworths supermarket gc with 4% discount. That is a profit of $29.11. Not bad. Alternatively, convert it into $250 Superswap gc in Shopback and get $5 cashback. That is a profit of $23.70. Any other way to beat these two?

    • Use the first giftcard to buy the second?

    • I couldn't add this card to Shopback, it worked yesterday.

    • $0.01 left?
I'm going to split it across WW and Big W then! haha

Edit: Did it for $180 Woolworths and $81.26 Big W for exactly $250 cost

    • I cash my cards out straight away

      • +2

        How you did ?

      • What method?

      • +1

A hundred or more OzBargainers are interested in your next comment

        • Still waiting lol

      • Would like to know too please

      • +8

I was able to do it via IG (a share trading app), add card to PayPal, load it into their app, withdraw. Rinse and repeat.

Lost about 1% or $2.48 per card to fees on IG. Deposit and withdrawal are pretty much instant though

        • Did you withdraw back in Paypal?

          • @Ash-Say: Yeah straight back to PayPal, was pretty much instant deposit.

        • +1

It seemed to work back to bank account then I got an unhelpful email from IG:
"We have encountered an issue that has prevented us from returning your funds. You may need to send us a bank statement – find out more here.
To help us resolve this as quickly as possible, please contact us on +61 (3) 9860 1734 or on [email protected]."

          • @Bdawg: I had a similar email and phone call from them a while back during a random withdrawal (a legit one from selling shares). Dunno if related to the PayPal deposits.

  • +1

Did anyone try using the gift card to add money on Revolut?

    • +1

Doesn't work, Revolut needs 3DS verification which this card doesn't have. Can't add this card to GPay so can't top up that way either

  • +3

Bought 2x$250 on chrome with Macquarie debit card. Got the cards in my email about 5 mins later. Thanks OP.

  • How do you actually buy more?

    • +1

Just buy. Doesn't seem there's any restrictions.

  • Anyone tried to use this gift card to buy another gift
Card? Pls share it. If it’s works then it would be great buy one card and use it again in loop

    • Something tells me giftcards.com.au does not accept gift card as a payment method. Although perhaps a loophole existst with some form of prepaid VISA or Mastercard, good luck anyone sharing it though. And good luck not getting flagged for fraud protection.

      • I just tried to see. It shows payment verification failed. So it can’t be done itseems.

      • Seeming it doesn't matter now some of the early Coles MC deals you could buy 1 on top of the other forever. eg buy 1 for $231.30 buy another end up with a card with $19.70 and continue . Some people ended up with 100's of $19.70 MC by weeks end hehe .
        Its long gone .

        • That would well and truly be the infinite money glitch unlocked

  • Tried to use on woolworths gift card portal via PayPal. Unsuccessful, but took the funds and got a refund email from PayPal. Will refunds to the gift card show up automatically?or do I have to call them?

    • No, you don't have to.

    • +1

mine showed back up on my gift card….even though i didn't get an email from Paypal at all…took about an hour for this to hppen.

      • Yep, I checked and mine came back as well. Have spent it successfully with prezzee

        • I tried it with prezzee but prezzee website was unsuccessful

          How did you do it?

          • @jecec: Using the prezzee app , connecting the gc to PayPal

            • @BrunoBear: Thank you mate. I just did it and it was all good.

How many times can you do this? Did subsequent tries succeed?

I did this paypal method to buy woolies card previously. It worked the first time and 2nd and 3rd times it failed and woolies says it will be refunded. $250 deducted from mastercard and not yet refunded.

            • @BrunoBear: Damm. Tried a second time with the prezzee and second time failed. It says my order couldnt be processed.

This time tho, the $250 is still in my mastercard giftcard.
