    • How have you been able to purchase so many? I've only been able to buy 10 and Giftcards.com.au seems to be able to remember my details even though I've changed names, mobile number, addresses and emails.

      • +2

I provided exactly same details and was able to buy no dramas

        • If you don't mind me asking, how many have you purchased?

        • Ah thought people had bikkie level number of phone numbers! Will give that a shot then.

  • If I want to pay brisbane council rates with 0.52% CC surcharge, should I put the amount as $248.7 or $250?….

    • +3

By the time you finishing typing the question here, you would have already found out if $250 works by trying to pay $250 on the website. And if it doesnt, just try $248.7.

    • +5

No, just pay $250. Surcharge will be added to your next rates notice.

BCC rates are different from water bills issued by Urban Utilities which you have to calculate the exact amount before you pay in order to avoid declined payment.

      • +2

Thanks so much for your kind help ^_^

        • No worries.

  • Has anybody successfully used one of these to buy a Woolworths WISH eGift Card? I thought I had. Put the Coles card into Paypal, made it the preferred payment method, made the purchase with the 5% discount.

But I notice that Paypal charged my usual card, not this one. Did I make a mistake at Paypal or doesn't the double discount work?

    • +7

Wish cards worked fine for me with Paypal. When the the Paypal checkout pops up you still need to select the prepaid card (I didn't set as default)

    • +4

      I've done it.
You probably didn't select the card when paypal asked.

    • +3

Maybe you didn’t change your preferred card to pay

    • how do you get 5% discount?

  • Does this stack with any other offers? Seeing if I can squeeze a little more out of the system haha
I have been reading through the comments and thus far all I can see is 3% via Crypto.Com (CRO)

    • 3% how?

    • 4% discounted Woolworths GC from NRMA Blue/StudentEdge/RACV

      • so its $250 gift card for $240 right? left $10 on giftcard

        • +1

So I just purchased a Woolworths GC at 4% discount for the $250 prepaid amount from this deal (going to space out the purchases so I don't get flagged for fraud protection even though this is all legit).

I purchased a $260.41 Woolworths GC which cost the $250 amount using PayPal after adding it to my account.

  • +1

Does anyone know if contacting their support team helps? I swear I just can't seemed to be able to buy these giftcards.

    • ive been buying them all day without an issue

      • Some people just get all the luck 😞

        • -1

          ive bought 25 @ $250.

I just got a message from my bank saying the card is blocked and I need to talk to them hahah

          • @frazel: ^ why interest rates rose again on 6/6/2023

            • @muncan: Hahah unfortunately its for the ATO, not big screen tvs

  • +1

Can i asked the merchant to manually input the card details over the phone and pay for an instore product?

    • Make sure to use up the balance right after. It is a card info leak.

      • So manually inputting the number will make it work?

  • -1

One of 11 cards can't be added to PayPal, and can't be used at Shopback. HELP! it said, "contact the issuer". I don't know how many cards that can't be linked to PayPal. I was so scared, then added to Shopback to spend it anyway. It's so stressful for $187

    • PayPal may suspend the account that behaves like this - 10 cards linked? I think it was 8 limit?

Linking to PayPal does nothing to avoid being hacked.

      • No i was trying to linked 6 cards, and 3 got of them declined. But I ending adding 3 a different card, one of them really2 don't want to link it at all

        • +3

I bought few woolworth GC through PayPal.
I link 1 card at a time in Paypal, make sure you select the card you have added at the checkout to place the order.
Check the balance to be $0, once I received the Woolworth gift card, remove it from PayPal and link another card after a while and repeat.

          • @hothot: My card declined to link to paypal, for payment, all payment work well.

        • Having the same issue, linked 5 cards no issue (removing them as I go). Now all further cards are getting declined… ideally don’t want to be sitting on these cards for long

Any ideas on how to bypass this declining?

          • +1

@Bigboy97: tried to use it asap. I used it to pay uni tuition fee, you can use add it to shopback and buy whatever gc

            • @ivyholmes: Ahhhh no uni fees for me, just graduated thankfully

Will wait and see tomorrow, already done plenty of gift card purchases lately

  • How do I know the amount left on cards?

    • On the page that opens when you click the 'View eGift Card' link in the email.

  • +1

Don't think it's ever going to work for me..still 'Transaction failed, please contact customer service.' Anyone else?

    • yeah its fked up. called customer service after transaction failed and after 2 days now…. nothing. nothing we can do, just wait until we get an email to tell us what next¬ sounds like (profanity) ebay

      • I already got email….no hope. I ithing coles group techs are hopeless.

        • What email address

          • @capslock janitor: Email from them saying my card/transaction/account unblocked but I don’t believe them. They r hopeless.

    • Had this. Across multiple web browsers. Worked when I purchased via my phone.

  • +2

Surprise surprise, retried again earlier today after failing many times yesterday, and 2 different orders worked ! I ordered 4 x $250 cards with different AMEX cards, same name with first order and second with my wife. Same address, same phone. So I got no idea why it was failed yesterday and now worked flawlessly. Maybe this time I am using my desktop, yesterday was laptop and first attempt was mobile. No idea. Probably only lucky and try not to limit each order to 4 cards max ???

    • same, I reckon 2 transaction max each day? Tried with my CBA card, and it worked

    • +1

And here poor me, since yesterday im trying with cba, westpack, anz with both credit and debit cards…till now its not working…call all the banks and 4 times card support…no hope at all. I think, I m quitting/giving up this time…

      • +2

I had same issue. Realised my daily transaction limit is set in these amounts. Updated daily transaction limit to 3k and bam it worked. Try Westpac as mine was westpac too.

        • Mine is not fault of bank, its coles group’s fault. Anyway i tried to buy 4 cards still doesn’t work.

          • @R n b: How do you know that? Can you access backend systems?

I would suggest you follow the complaint pathway shown on the card terms.

            • @YesPleaseThankYou: I called bank and the said that they didn’t get any pending transactions in their system and card is not blocked, card has enough limit. I already faced problems a lot of times before when i was ordering online, at that time as well they were hopeless, they couldn’t fix the problems.

              • @R n b: Wait, sorry, your issue is that you can't purchase cards? Yes, that is Coles (or your banks), not Heritage. My apologies.

                • @YesPleaseThankYou: Very weird, i asked 7 friends (3 work colleagues) to buy on behalf of me using their own bank’s card, own mobile, own details, none of them were successful to buy. But when i shared about this offer with my another friend who wanted to buy himself, he bought 2 lots successfully, no problem at all. Now he is trying 3rd one.

          • @R n b: can you try just 1…normally the predefined daily limit on cards are $750 in westpac.

  • How do we pay ATO without the fee ? Can we use Beem ?

    • +8

Come on man - Card payment fee - ATO (0.20%) Cant have a cake, and eat at same time bro

      • -3

… but then I have to do maths.

        • +2

          Pay $249.50.

    • +6

You cannot add Coles Mastercard Digital gift cards to Beem, as the error message will tell you that Beem only supports Australian Visa and Mastercard cards.

Even if you could add it to Beem (which would be surprising, since they only officially support Australian-issued credit cards and Australian-issued dual-network debit cards), you may find that you cannot use the BPAY feature on Beem. Beem recently changed their terms and conditions to remove the ability to send BPAY payments from Australian-issued credit cards.

I cannot think of a fee-free way of send payments from Coles Mastercard Digital gift cards to the ATO. To be fair, the 0.2% fee for redeeming Coles Mastercard Digital gift cards at the ATO is pretty good.

      • +2

Hahaha.. thank you for the comprehensive reply!

  • -3

enjoy the deal folks because after this gets fully abused, they are going to take government payments off the list

    • +3

Would be a marketing nightmare for them if they can no longer write: "may be used online, over the phone or through mail order everywhere Mastercard® is accepted"

It's already not true, since they blocked Wise. Blocking lots of other things makes the cards hard to sell.

    • +4

Abuse what? It's everybody wins here. Coles getting lot of sales in short period, government bodies suddenly getting lot of extra cashflow.

    • +2

they are going to take government payments off the list

If you check through the physical card deals in the past, they actually did do that.
Then there was a massive backlash.

  • +2

How to make payment to ATO in advance if no amount is due?

    • +1

Same ques, my employer usually deducts the tax for me, so at end of year I hardly owe anything to Ato and instead get a refund

@WookieMonster need your help here buddy

      • Then don't waste the ATO's time!
Send an iTunes gift card if you must… to someone who needs it (the "ATO" already has plenty…)

      • +2

This question has been asked and answered multiple times. Look back through thia post and you'll find answers.

      • +1

I don’t do this myself, so I’m the wrong person to ask!

    • You can pay into your ATO account. Do a word search ATO on this thread for advice on this, click view all first.

  • -3

Can you use the card at Coles In-store at checkout?

    • +2

They are digital cards, can only used online.

      • Thank you and very I can use those?

  • +1

I came across something odd after buying a few of these.

When looking at my cards, all had the same cvv code yesterday. I tried to buy WW gift cards with them -> some worked, some didn't (all with same cvv). As I was afraid that they were hacked I checked the cards again today through the email link and now each of them has a unique / different cvv.

    • Do CVVs not matter for prepaid cards?
    • How else would anyone explain the change in the system?

    Very confusing….

  • So there’s no hard limit of 2,500$

  • +1

Bought 3x $250 but had to use mobile browser, payment page just loops endlessly on desktop Chrome browser. Mobile browser was slow too but finally got there! Hopefully won't take too long to receive the cards.

    Edit: Received the gift cards!

  • Does anyone know if we can use these cards to top up Qantas money?
(0.5% fee, but might be able to cash out the profits? )

    • +4

I have not tried this myself, because:

      • The Merchant Category Code for a Qantas Travel Money instant load is 6051 (Quasi Cash - Merchant), which is a cash-related MCC used to describe transactions where you are funding a deposit account, purchasing foreign currency and money orders, paying off existing debts, etc.

      • The Coles Mastercard gift card terms state that you cannot use it to obtain cash, and MCC 6051 would strongly hint at the transaction being somehow involved with obtaining cash (at least in a roundabout way).

I would expect one of three things to happen:

      1. InComm to block MCC 6051, because they see that as a cash-equivalent transaction (and therefore decline the instant load transaction). Blackhawk Network specifically state they block MCC 6051 on their prepaid gift cards, so another gift card company considers that MCC being cash-equivalent…

      2. Qantas Travel Money refuse to process a payment from the gift card, because it is not a debit card (and they can easily check this by looking up the gift card’s BIN to see what it is linked to).

      3. InComm and Qantas Travel Money both let the transaction go through. However, you would then run the risk of InComm later blocking or cancelling your gift card, because they determined afterwards you were violating its terms. Alternatively, Qantas Travel Money could later cancel your card, because you used something other than a debit card for the instant load transaction and they did not pick up on this until later.

This is all theoretical, so you could be completely fine doing this, but I would not do this myself.

The instant load fee is currently 0%, btw.

      • There rate is shite, today's AUD/USD rate 1 AUD = 0.6283 USD vs spot rate of 0.658, you are better of using a zero FX transaction CC, if you have one. may not get 0.658 but very close to it and much better than Q money rate.

        • Those are very good points, but that only matters if you choose to use it for purchases in foreign currencies.

I strongly suspect the commenter above is not intending to do that…

          • @WookieMonster: yes, I would like to know more. If the intent is to load A$ and spend it locally without any fee, is that an option?

            • @maverick1: Yes you can spend it like a normal card anywhere, but you can also transfer your balance to a bank account, essentially letting you cash out your prepaid card. Assuming Qantas don't flag you, which they easily could

  • -2

Its a saving of 7.48% man,

    • open risk to Hacking
    • No ability to use card instore
    • open risk that you might forget about card since its digital
    • Not using card is gonna result in you missing out getting paid interest on that money

For me Its just not worth this time, If this was a physical card I could have probably considered buying it But digital only, Meh, not worth the inconvenience right now.

May be in future if I Had this during a new CC signup definitely a good buy to stack. But right now stuck with the same CC so not much benefit.

    • +8

Thats better than an entire year of interest for leaving the money in the bank. I bought 10 cards. This deal is a no brainer.

Worst case you pay the money to ATO (with 0.2% fee) and claim it back as cash when you do your tax next month. Thats a return of 7.88% (8.08 - 0.2) on any cards you buy.

      • That's you assuming you are using this to pay ATO (which is good option though)

I got quite a lot of debt too, but unfortunately need to use savings in other places cannot pay ATO HECS debt atm with savings i got. AKA THANKS TO PHILIP LOWE AND RBA for that.

I dont know how you 7.88% though too, its 7.48% direct money of on coles s gift card partner site.

        • +7

You calculate your investment return on the money you invest not the value of the investment. So as you are only paying $231.30 for $250 of value the calculation is:

          250/231.30 = 1.0808

          (1.0808-1) * 100 = 8.08% return

You are correct that the discount is 7.48% but the investment return is higher.
