In terms of the Woolworths Group gift card portal, Woolworths Group usually declines attempts to directly use Coles Mastercard gift cards as a payment method on its portal. The way to get around this is to link your Coles Mastercard gift card to PayPal first, then checkout using PayPal as the payment method, ensuring you select the gift card as the payment source.
In terms of Gift Card Exchange, I am not entirely sure. I thought they did 3-D Secure checks for payment methods, which would mean that Coles Mastercard gift cards would fail that check. I could be wrong though.

As long as you have a plan to redeem them ASAP (e.g. purchasing discounted gift cards from other gift card portals so you have enough gift cards to last you a couple of months, paying off ATO debts, prepaying health insurance or utility bills, topping up public transport cards), you should be fine. I would be surprised if one your cards was compromised ten minutes after you were emailed it (unless your email inbox itself was compromised, but that is a different kind of problem…)
@nightelves: Someone can simply guess-and-check potential card combinations (e.g. potential combinations of card numbers, expiry dates and CVC), regardless of whether you have a digital or physical gift card.

If the gift card has not been tampered with, I don’t think that is possible with the physical Coles Mastercard gift cards. If you purchase a Coles Mastercard gift card and its activation is declined at the checkout, that is usually because someone has attempted to use that gift card before you purchased it. (Well, that is what someone from InComm - the gift card scheme owner - told me.)
As I alluded to above, you could always have the gift card packaging be tampered, where someone slips out the original gift card, making a copy of the partial barcode onto a dummy card, then placing the dummy card into the packaging and revealing it. However, I find the packaging very hard to tamper without leaving some evidence behind, so make sure to have a look at the packaging for signs of weird cuts or bends before you purchase it.

Yep. For example, I've had physical Coles Mastercard gift cards rejected by Prezzee (even though my Prezzee account was modified by Prezzee staff a few years ago to let me use the old Coles Gift Mastercards directly without needing to use PayPal). However, I was able to directly use a digital Coles Mastercard gift card last week.
Don't ask me what would cause that!
I got 10x emails (1 for each card) but when I click on it, the card details are blank with no card number, expiry date or CVV showing. I've tried different browsers and turned off VPN but still nothing showing. ANyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem the first time I tried to use my digital TCN Grocery gift card in Google Pay, didn't work at ALDI. Tried another ALDI store and it worked. Went back to the ALDI that didn't work originally and this time it worked.
