  • Can these cards be put on temporary hold until one is ready to use?

  • Managed to get 10 this am, arrived approx 5hrs later, now spent at myGov/ATO and https://www.governmenteasypay.gov.au/ and by my calculations made $182 for my efforts. Don't seem to be able to buy anymore under another household members credentials/card and on a different PC though … so I guess thats it for now.

  • You can use these cards to buy fee-free Coles gift cards at Prezee, which can be used in store.

  • Bought one earlier today and already used it on the SB app for GCs, bought another to use with that Prezzee deal.

The invoice was received immediately and the card a few minutes later (it was taking hours earlier today). All of my details were the same except for the email, including the same Macquarie debit Mastercard used for payment.

Prezzee purchase went through first try.

  • After a full day of fooling around getting my transaction declined 100x over multiple banks' (BOQ/ING/CBA/WBC) cards, just got through right now in an easy attempt. Doesn't seem to be an issue with the payment card (I realized this after the numerous OTPs) that came through but transaction kept failing. So can confidently 'highly likely' nothing to do with the bank itself.

    • What browser and card did you use?
After reading your comment, I tried again using PC Chrome and CBA card but still got the "Transaction failed, please contact customer service." error message.

      • from my experience, its not blocking your card but rather you (uniquely identified through all your details and devices).

    • +1

Did you do anything different in your successful attempt compared to the failed attempts?

  • does WISE work for cashing out or is it risky ?

  • Looks like someone just used my gift card at TRINITY GRAMMAR. Anyone has same issue?

  • +2

I received gift card on 3:10pm, just opened it up now. It showed $250 loaded on 5/31/23, 1:06 AM, then pending transaction on 5/31/23, 2:54 AM $250 with Trinity Grammar. I got $0 balance now

    • +1

sounds like the system sent out the same card twice.
better contact them and ask for a replacement.

      • +1

Yes Trinity Grammar does not sound like a hackers choice of payment.

        • +3

Never thought someone who could afford private schools would get into deals like this.

@ilovefullprice: well, you will never be wealthy if you don't know how to save. ;)

          • @ilovefullprice: Just called giftcards.com.au, they told me to call coles prepaid master card. The lady told me to call back after 7 days until the pending transaction settled for them to investigate. Should I call Amex to dispute? I didn’t get what I paid for.

              • +1

@AsukaST: Thanks for letting me know. Now I am not even able to open the gift card. Kept getting system error.

                • +1

@nlin1: The first thing I do after receiving the cards this morning was copying all 10 cards details and paste it in gmail as a reply draft.
So if there is a system failure, I am still able to contact them with those details.
Always back up data. Feel sorry for you. :(

I am trying with NAB credit card and getting the transaction failed as well

  • Is giftcard.com.au part of Coles group ?

    • Yes.

      • But why there have been so many loopholes ?

  • Payment is just spinning.

    • So is my head, honestly (profanity) this. Not worth it

  • Purchased earlier successfully on two separate occasions with Suncorp CC. Tried again and getting transaction error..

  • Do these gift cards earn additional amex points with the Platnium Edge card?

    • No - you are better use amex explorer or amex platinum charge

    • Yes, according to previous experience. It showed "COLES GROUP LIMITED " in the statement

How does refund on physical gift card work? I got a physical card from last round and need to return the item.

    • +2

When the merchant asks you to present the card:

      • Swipe the physical gift card through the magstripe reader on the EFTPOS terminal.

      • Select Credit/CR. (Some EFTPOS terminals do not do this, because they actually read the data on the magstripe to see the supported networks for the card you just swiped, which means for a gift card that only supports one type of card network, the EFTPOS terminal will automatically choose that network for you.)

      • Enter the PIN. (If you have not set up a PIN yet, choose any four digits. Otherwise, enter the PIN you previously set on the gift card.)

      • Press Enter.

The refund should be processed within 3-5 business days. There will be no indication about a refund transaction on the balance check page until the refund has been processed onto the gift card.

      • +1

        Thank you

      • +2

@Ash-Say - does the merchant ask to see your payment method and verify the last 4 digits? If not, give them your other bank card. I've had a few occasions like this and I told the staff that this is a prepaid card and doesn't accept deposits. Kindly refund in cash or a different card. Two occasions actually got cash, one occasion proceeded to give my bank debit card and got refunded there.

        Otherwise, as WM described :-)

        In online purchases, pretty straightforward.

Anyone thought about why they are giving away endless cash?

    • entice forgetful ppl?

      • Hacker bots dont forget….there will be zero forgotten to be used cards. It has to be laundering.

  • Anyone tried adding it to beemit and make bpay payments?

  • Anyone tried using it to top up your PayPal account and withdraw the funds? Seems to easy to do

    • Paypal only allows me to top up with bank account, not even regular debit cards.

      • Hmmm, supposed to be able to according to their website… will try and report back

I used the card to fund IG trading via PayPal with 1% transaction fee. But you can cashout.

    • Great trade

    • Have you done this before and managed to get your cash out without any trades?

I have done the same thing with another smaller broker, but had issues.

      • +1

I could withdrawal the fund via paypal. There's a processing time.

  • Transaction failed, please contact customer support. Bankwest credit card, owned by CBA so not surprising.

  • Can these be used for paying Afterpay? :D

    • No :(

  • trying very hard to secure some, transaction failure every time. any tips?

    Methods tried combination of:

Browsers: Chrome, Safari Desktop, Safari Mobile, Firefox
Payment methods: CBA Debit, CBA Credit, ANZ Plus Debit, Wise

    TIA

  • keeps looping for me

  • I got mine over 5 hours after purchase.
Added to Shopback, but then it would not allow checkout - failed some process?
Tried to buy JB Hifi cards, one was confirmed, but then JB blocked the 2nd purchase.
Also, JB then waited 30mins to send to me. I didn't have enough time to wait, so ended up paying using a different method. Now stuck with a 250 JB for the future.
Added a different one to Paypal, but have not tested yet.
Simply could not get it added to Apple Wallet.

    • I just used this to purchase the Pixel 7 deal from JB Hifi which costs $640

In the end I bought 1x $250 GC from JB directly, and another $250 from Prezzee (using the Footy GC deal for a bonus $10 which was then converted into another JB GC)

And then the remaining balance paid directly w. the Coles GC.

Has anyone tried using these for super co-contribution using sniip or a similar service (paying via bpay)? I can't think of anything else to use them on. I'm going to be making a super contribution later this month anyway.

Also anyone been able to use this for 7/11? My chopper needs refueling.

    • Haven't tried yet (also thinking about using sniip to top up the super) - sniip website show prepaid cards are accepted at a fee of 0.85%)
      https://sniip.com/personal-payments/

      • +1

Just pumped through 10 cards via sniip, so far so good. Transaction appears on gift card website almost instantly. 0.85% Fee.

        • Thank you for confirming!

    • Has anyone tried using these for super co-contribution using sniip or a similar service.

In my experience it is always blocked, but can't hurt to try.

    • I checked my Super account to do contribution, but it only allows through BPAY, which I guess only possible through online banking.
No option to pay using debit/credit cards

      • Would like to know if this is worthwhile too.

      • +1

That is why mrjames is suggesting using sniip, which allows you to bpay bills for a 0.85% fee. It would make a lot of sense to do it if sniip allowed the transaction.

        • +1

Appears to have worked, I will wait for the payment to clear before doing the next batch though.

    • +1

MLC allow payments by visa and mastercard. If you don't have a super account with them, you can always open one and rollover later.

      • Do you know if there is credit card fee associated with this? Sniip charges 1.5p using MasterCard
