  • I’ve made quite a few transactions already, gone through everytime. Some banks aren’t working it seems

    • Any tips how you do it?

    • Which browser and cc?

    • same here, have bought it 3 separate times.

    • The first time I saw this deal, months back - it was a fail everytime. Now able to pump through order after order after order using same deets.

  • BOQ finally worked after using a different laptop! No luck for nab & cba :(

    • All other details being the same?

  • Managed to get it first go with Westpac card. Bought only four cards though works wonders with Woolworths Gift Cards via PayPal and paying off private health insurance. Has anyone had any luck buying a second batch?

    • yeah ive bought 3 batches using westpac.

      • which browser

        • 1x chrome 2x bing

      • Oh nice! Did you use the same details (ie email/name/address/card) for each or different ones?

        • +1

diff email, address and name for all 3, same card

    • +1

Done my second a few mins ago; First group of 10 was on my phone, second group on my desktop chrome browser. Looking for some inspiration here to do my third :(

  • My 2nd batch went surprisingly smoothly.

Used a CBA debit card and was able to get verification code from mobile app.
Received gift cards after 2 minutes.

Now need to think where to use them :)

  • +5

7.48% off my uni tuition fees? Let’s go :(

    • +1

Dang I wish I knew this method back in the days LOL! Could've saved tons of $$.

    • They will offset that by adding the indexation today :(

  • This is a stupid question but when I go to pay online, what do I fill in as the name of the cardholder? The name I used to purchase the cards?

    • +2

I used "A Gift For You" without issues in the past.

    • I just used the name I put in when I purchased the card.

I loaded 20 x $250 on my Telstra account (they only have a 0.3% fee vs 2.6% on PayPal). Then request a refund for all my balance using this forum https://say.telstra.com.au/customer/general/forms/Request-yo….

Steps to load into Telstra account:
    1. Click on Payment.
    2. Click on Pay in advance.

The trick is that you will get a warning if you pay in the same amount for more than one time. Although you still can pay, after 7 times, it will trigger an error. Then change the amount from $250 to $249.99, then it will work for another 7 times. Keep doing so, 249.98, 249.97…

    • +3

So you basically returned all that money onto your actual credit card?

      If so that's insane

      Literally +$372 to your account

    • 👏👏👏 you deserve a medal

      • -4

A medal for committing fraud. Yup. Sounds great!

        • +2

In what way is this fraud?

        • +2

It's not the customer's fault that the company let's them refund the surplus funds back to the CC.

Fraud is if Person A used Person B's credit card without consent or knowledge to pay for their bill. That is fraud.

    • +1

Have you already received your refund or you think you will be able to receive the refund? If it is the latter, just a heads up that it might not go as well as you have planned.

    • +1

Soon they will only refund back to original method of payment

      • They probably already do this

      • I think it is more like past tense.

    • Up to 21 days for the cheque. Hmmm

      • Last time with Telstra refund, the cheque didn't arrive after 1 month, had to contact Telstra multiple times.
Finally roughly 2-2.5 months later I finally got cheque in the mail.
Date on the check itself was +- 15 days after the first request for refund.

    • +2

For Telstra use their "Click to Pay" option - no fee.

Sorry if this question has already been asked somewhere in the 14 pages of messages but can this be used to purchase crypto in a crypto exchange?

    • LOL seek help

Jump on the bandwagon if you want to get rich. Muhahahahahahhaha.

@The Investor: My advice is: have fun staying poor

@lovebargain87: I love how you pick a day when Binance is being sued by the SEC for a low blow dog shot.

You'll be so quiet within the next 3 years when it gets to ATH. Don't worry- I'll be back here to give it to you and see what you reply with.

I can already tell you'll be as quiet as a church mouse when that time comes.

See you at the top, boy.

For anyone wondering about selecting a Delivery Date in the future, one of the cards I bought at 9:00am this morning I selected to be delivered on 01/06/2023. It got delivered to my email at 00:02 AEST just now.

    • was the card created on 01/06/2023 or on purchase date?

      • +1

It says it was created 31/05/2023 and balance loaded at 10:00am. All my 9:00am purchased cards say that.

A second batch of 10x$250 cards that I purchased at 3:00pm all say created 31/05/2023 and balance loaded at 10:11am.

So make of that what you will.

        • So does it sound like scheduling later delivery will not prevent hacking if they are activated shortly after purchasing?
Due to the daily limits in paying ATO I have scheduled later delivery on some. Worried now.

          • +1

@Yola: People have reported buying cards instantly and they have already been used in the days before. So it seems like Coles GC group have created cards in batches starting on 31/05/2023 and are susceptible to hacking, or CGCG are providing cards to buyers that they have already sold. I suspect the latter as a lot of the transactions people have reported are the sorts of transactions OzBargainers would have made, e.g. $150 Prezzee + $100 Shopback.

  • +4

Anyone else getting transaction failed contact customer service?

    • Most

      • same

Still not working with Westpac CC and Suncorp CC for me. Was able to get a couple yesterday with Suncorp CC but getting error now. How bizarre..

          • +1

@Crowing: I had this error message with many attemtps on my phone and desktop using Mozilla yesterday using my Westpac CC, an overseas CC and HSBC debit card. Tried Chrome this morning on desktop and it worked with my Westpac CC.

            • +1

@Illyria: I've been trying on chrome all along but to no avail

            • @Illyria: How bizarre! Did you try anything different this morning? I’ve tried multiple cards and browsers today without any luck..

              • +1

@Crowing: No, it just worked. I even managed a second purchase of 10 x $250 cards with the same credit card. Though it wnet back to the "transaction failed" error when I tried a third time.

                • +1

@Illyria: Seems like it’s just so random - I might give it another go at random times and hope for the best :)

Anyone care to share how youd transfer the money to yourself do i just make another paypal account and link my bank details, send gift to that account ?

    • +5

7.5% off council rates, taxes, health insurance, groceries is significant…

  • Can you still use these cards to load money into you Wise account to use while traveling ?

btw you all are corrupting me getting me thinking of buying a second batch now :-)

    • +1

I tried to load into Wise with one of the physical Coles MC Cards I got on the last promo and it wouldn't go through.
Not sure if there is a specific way to get it done.
      Happy to see further guidance

No wonder inflation is so high. So many people still have enough cash to drop tens of thousands on gift cards.

    • +24

      This guy🤦🏻‍♂️

Didn’t you check the comments, most people here are looking to source these gift cards for their inevitable essential expenses, just saving some extra money on the bills and the rent that they’d be paying anyways.
What’s their actual sin? Having an extra few thousand dollars in savings that they are trying to earn 7%-8% off?

Also FYI, if you really care about inflation, maybe educate yourself about the deficit and the untapped and unregulated printing of money that keeps being given out to buy votes and keeping the masses happy and quiet. That’s what’s really causing the inflation ya genius.

    • +3

This is to save extra money for something you were going to spend anyway soon. Nothing wrong with dropping cash when this has better interest rate compare to current bank.

  • +2

    Bought and paid 2nd bath of 250, should I go 3rd ?

    • if you can - what bank cc are you using?

      • CBA ultimate cc , had to hit min spend for 70k Quantas point

Interms of IT arrangements, mobile chrome first regular and 2nd time incognito, one in the night one in the morning, different emails but same CC

  • Bought 10x $250 with CBA debit card, asking for security code that's all. Smooth and approved.

  • Anyone use this card to pay ZIP payment before?

  • I did two orders (1st 2 x $250 and 2nd 1 x $250) and the second order still hasn't arrived (did at 5.35pm yesterday) others have said they did more than one order with way more value than me and some got them instantly, so not sure what is going on. Anyone else have this issue?

  • +1

For those who have a platinum edge card, I bought my second lot of cards using the platinum edge and can confirm they count it as a supermarket purchase for the extra amex points.

  • Any ideas if because I’ll receive a positive tax return, if I increase my ATO income tax balance via this, will I receive this balance back in my tax return?

Or is it locked into the balance of my ATO account and can only be used to pay ATO debts?

Thanks in advance for the help

  • +5

Just bought 4 x $250 cards thanx @BargainsGrabber & Ozgiftcards on IG (I know you're on here somewhere lol) for the heads up
Had no issues buying etc. The only browser I could open them up on was Brave - everything else just didn't work.
Paid my gas & power for the winter, bought several discounted store gift cards & made my charity donations to offset my expected tax bill this year.
I would have bought more but alas the bank acc is now bare.
Thanks again this $75 saving was a big bonus for me.
    Have a great day all.

    • +1

Shhh brave is my baby :)

    • Same problem with opening cards, was able to open with Firefox yesterday but now they won't open with Firefox or Chrome. Any ideas.

  • Bought 10 at 22.56 last night. Delivered 22.58!

    • Bought this morning and also received them in 2 minutes.

  • For those who got transaction failed while purchasing the card, How long did it take for the charge back on the card?

    • I got transaction failed multiple times on all cards. No charge was made.

  • Anyone get double charged?
The first time I tried yesterday, it came up with a transaction error, then I tried again and it went though, both transactions were showing as pending last night, I thought one will get released in a few days but both went though. Now I’m in the queue to the bank :/

    • They might refund it in a few days and i dont think counter staff can help you with this kind of issues. If your money doesnt come back afte a week or two, just lodge a chargeback for duplicate charge will do.

    • +1

      Email them. Simple.

      • +1

Thanks, yes, I’ve just called them and they have put in a refund request for me, will be expecting refund by mid next week
