Any advantages over the Kmart one for $35

    • +6

      Yes. 3 bucks cheaper.

    • +9

Yeah… they won't end up in landfill in 3-6 months time.

Don't bother with any sub-$50 dollar monitor arms other than the NB F80/H100.

These are the best entry-level monitor arms on the market.

    • +4

I have four of these, would buy again. They've been solid.

      • would buy again

You'd have 5+ monitors then. I bet your computer desk looks like the guy from the Matrix or something.

        • I think I have 11…..i need help.

  • +1

Been using one of these for last 2+ years and it's as rock-solid sturdy as the day I installed it.

  • +3

    Trust me, get H100 instead

    • +3

      Can you elaborate why?

      • I have had 2 H100, no idea why it would better than this one. One of the obvious advantage I can think is that it has a longer reach/arm from the pivot point/clamp.

      • +4

If the back of your table is up against a wall, get the H100. It’s sits more flush

        • If the table is against a wall the F80 comes with a mount you can drill through the the table top

          • +2

            @dav3: That sounds terrible

            • +1

@4agte: Not if you're confident it doesn't need to be moved in future

      • +1

You can position your monitor right against to a wall which gives you a bit more desk space and also distance between you and screen.

    • Please elaborate. Contemplating either.

    • +1

Agree with this. For the Xiaomi ultrawide the F80 could not go high enough, so recently bought the H100.

  • H100 or H180 possible to hold lg C2 oled 42"?
Tv is under 10kg I think.

    • Lift distance would be a bigger problem than weight.

      • H180 has 43cm pole. I think it's enough for 42"

        LG C2 42"
        Dimensions without Stand (WxDxH) (mm): 932mm x 41mm x 540mm
        Weight without Stand (Kg): 9

        • Whoops thought you meant this model.

        • is there a single arm version of the h180? im looking for something with a long arm to swing in from the side
not for the height. so unsure if h180 is even a good reference example lol

    • +1

You'll need a VESA adapter to change from 100x100 to 300x200 that the LG C2 uses.

      • Yes, I know that. Thanks.

    • +1

So I had a H100 and had a light monitor but then attached an approx 3.5kg keyboard tray. The H100 couldn’t even hold my monitor up right after that, it kept slopping (I am referring to the tilt).

Also, I could only placed it at the lowest or highest position. This is because anything between, it would lift up because I tightened it so much to make it able to hold it.

  • I'm thinking of getting monitor arms. Does anyone know of some decent ones that will attach to the side of a desk and extend to the middle?
I can't have my monitors close to the wall

    • +1

Maybe the NB H100/160/180 is what you are after

    • I meant to say that I want my monitors as close to the wall at the back of my desk as possible. I want the arms coming from either side, or just one side of the desk.
My first question was so incorrect
      Thanks

      • chicken answer is correct

  • Anyone got suggestions for a triple monitor arm, for a 34 inch UW with 2 27 inches on the side, both in portrait?

    • +6

I would suggest buying three separate arms. I have a dual monitor arm and I regret not getting two separate ones to this day.
You just get so much more options for where/how you can place each monitor.

  • support AW3821DW?

    • Based on the size and weight, I doubt it.

    • I'm using this arm with my acer predator X38P. It holds nicely - even at full extension

  • I have no issue with my monitor stand, should I get the monitor arms? I'm just feeling fomo.

    • +1

once you have arm you will never look back

      • I quite like the clamp installation/table edge installation as I don't need to put a hole on my table. Would this be sufficient to hold the weight of my Dell 27ich s2721sq (weight 4.2kg) monitor?
        Thanksssss

        • just check the spec what is the max weight. every arm different.
i have dual arm, and actually i go over just few grams of what they say the max weight. ymmv

well its there clearly you didnt read :D

        • I’ve mounted a S2721D on with no issues for a few years now

        • I have a S2721DGF on the arm which I imagine is a similar weight

    • +1

I had a massive hatred for the things due to being in IT and having to move/fix monitor arms for years, they're a god damn pain in the ass when you have to crawl under desks and work around cable trays because some (profanity) needs them moved to the desk next to them.

At home where you just set it up and don't have to touch it again it's awesome, you get a bunch of real estate back and I probably couldn't do without them now.

      • I had to faff around with hundreds of the damn things as tech support decades ago so I've seen my fair share of them. Never been even vaguely tempted to run them at home though- I just use the default monitor stands or third party simple stands with extra-flat bases.

At the office we have dual monitors with arms, and I don't notice additional space but I do notice that with hot desking someone always bumps the damn monitors slightly off kilter and it's a faff to realign properly.

    • +2

arms give you so much more space for activities!

      • This is a good point

    • Level of cleanliness is just different. You have to get one before you can feel it.

  • +1

I've been rocking a couple of these with 27" monitors since covid induced WFH. They are great

  • Anyone owns this with xiaomi ultrawide 34inch?

    • I have the acer predator x38p and this arm holds it very nicely

      • Ah good to know thanks

  • +4

    just the usual sentence:
always buy 2 singles not 1 dual, and thank ozb later

    • Why?

      • just tell someone you dont like to buy single then visit him/her a week later to hear all the cries and complaints

  • I have a dual version of this - free to pickup Melbourne. PM if interested (I swapped to two singles…)

    • still have no courage to swap my dual to 2 singles… maybe one day..

      • Same for me :(

        • maybe when there is H100 or H80 on sale for $25 each i will…

    • Hi I'd be interested in that dual version if its still available, can you PM me?

  • Is here someone has NB G40 arm?
    G40 for big size monitor.

  • Worth it for a dell s2721dgf? Included stand is pretty decent, just wish it was a bit easier to rotate.

    • +2

using them now for the same monitor. no issue, however they're pretty fat and chunky compared to the basic arm you can get from officeworks (OW more expensive though).

    • +2

Can confirm it works for the Dell S2721DGF.

  • +1

I have the NB F100A which I'm a fan of - just ordered a second monitor and second F100A (https://www.catch.com.au/product/gas-strut-model-f100a-black…) to go with it!

    • I got my first monitor arm (also F100A) the other day, and just pulled the trigger on a second one!

  • My table is 12cm thick… Would this be able to clamp it?

    • The image on the listing says up to 90mm table thickness (had to translate to English), so probably not but others who already have it may be able to to advise otherwise..

      • just sand the desk thinner a bit

  • Waiting on a deal for the H100

  • Anyone using this for 34"?

I got a ultra wide 34", the weight without stand is just 5.5kg, but the monitor arm I got now randomly tilt down. I need to tighten that screw so hard to hold it. As the hinge become super tight when I need to adjust it to be straight I worry I damage the monitor.

  • FWIW, I’ve got a Brateck dual stand (one arm has laptop holder, one arm for monitor) which I picked up for about $75. You can get the 2 x monitor version (essentially same thing without laptop bracket) for $50 from Officeworks. It’s solid but would not suit people who often need to frequently change their monitor position (sit/stand desks?) as they are fixed in position.

  • Personally, I'm a fan of the Kogan ostia series gas monitor mounts, I think it looks good and it's been holding my 6kg 34" ultrawide fine for years. They're currently on sale too only $29.99

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-full-motion-gas-spring-si…

    • PLUS $13.99 standard shipping if you're not a First member.

  • I got one of these. Couple of caveats:
Its no good for an 8kg monitor, even if says it's rated up to 9kg. Really struggled to get it to stay up without sagging.
The vesa plate doesn't seem to point above horizontal. And my particular screen had a curved backplate, meaning the best it could was about -10 degrees or so, so the screen was always pointing down.
So wasnt good for me, but mostly due to user.

  • its not that good
