    • Correct. As per T&C listed. Unless they change them soon.
Not every store has steppay as an option.

      • +1

Good 1 OP this will get me off my a$$ to join . $25 normal not enough .

      • +1

I thought the point of Steppay was purchases over $100 were automatically split by Commbank, stores don't need to have it as an option unlike Afterpay etc.

  • Just to be sure this, does this stack with signing up with a referral link (or is it a referral code, hence you either pick the referral or the steppay70 code?)

    • +3

I signed up on the homepage and it gave me a $25 bonus and then a $70 bonus - but not sure if it will payout or not..

      https://i.imgur.com/xvlrUPn.png

      • Which link u followed

      • Ok so there's another potential option.

I was more seeing if the referral (25 for referer and 25 for referee) will stack with the 70?

I guess @getcheddarapp could clarify which combinations are fine?

        • +1

Works, just did it with a mate who signed up yesterday using my referral. He is a happy man.

          • @johnno1987: So your referral is a link not a code. Awesome

        • +7

          Hi @txb

I'd like to confirm that new Cheddar customers are only eligible for one sign up bonus. As a referral bonus and the StepPay bonuses are both sign up bonuses, you are only eligible for one. Approval is based on which ever sign up offer was activated first. Any subsequent sign up offers that are activated will be declined.

          Hope that helps clarify.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: ?? Can you please clarrify what you mean ?

If we used the referral link first to sign up, and then put the STEPPAY70 code in promos, are we not getting $95 ??

            but $25 only ??

how are we supposed to put the STEPPAY70 code without signing up first ??

            • @USER DC: the link for this deal was incorrect originally. OP had it as https://www.getcheddar.com.au/ instead of what they changed it to later which is https://www.getcheddar.com.au/steppay

If someone signed up before it was edited, they'd have the $25 bonus showing first.

              • -1

@bohn: So we scrap that account and make a new one then I guess if cheddar is so scummy on this that they wont honor $70 (higher amount). ?

I wont even worry about buying anything for sake of $25 honestly, if cheddar is this scummy.

                Will just give it up.

Already have shopback and cashreward who are not scummy like this (advertising stuff and then later changing their saying to be only issuing the smaller cashback amount. (as if they they really cannot afford to give another $45 ?? ) Technically $70 extra since their app shows $95.

                • @USER DC:

So we scrap that account and make a new one then I guess

                  that would work

                • +1

@USER DC: They give $25 a sign up, CR and SB give $10.

Cheddar is more giving, SB these days is all about WESTPAC.

Comp is good, it forces them to give better cashbacks.

    • +1

I highly doubt this. I tried the same when the signup bonus was $50 but only got the referral $25. contacted them and they pointed me to the T and C.

      • +9

I looked at the terms and condition and guess what I find, (Apart from them saying they would decline the $95 or even $70 signup bonus if we signed up with $25 bonus first).

        https://www.getcheddar.com.au/terms

The maximum Cashback that you can accrue is AUS $100 per calendar month.

So guess what is happening to these deals ?? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/758513 or the booking.com 22% of with $130 cap ??

FAKE FALSE ADVERTISING. Chedder is gonna reject those claims too.

@getcheddarapp Can you stop being so scummy seriously ? is combank that greedy for profits ? to start to false advertise itself now ?

        • Thats not true, because I had $200 cashback clear in 1 transaction.

I think someone has to double check, because i got like 10 referrals in a month and they've paid out.

          • @[Deactivated]: Here's another one

            https://i.imgur.com/ETAeVoH.png

you are accessing the App within sanctioned countries. (A list of the sanctioned countries can be found at commbank.com.au/sanctioned countries.)

clearly can be found at some deepweb url

    • The Bonus Cashback is not valid in conjunction with any other Cheddar offers; and is limited to one per user and per device.

    • +1

At least in the past, promos have stacked with a single transaction at Cheddar.
I did 2 transactions to be sure, but both bonuses approved immediately after only the first cashback was approved.

      • I thought bonuses are only approved once the transaction cashback has been approved by merchnaylt whoch usually takes upto 90 days, can you please confirm?

        • both bonuses approved immediately after only the first cashback was approved.

  • Sorry if I missed it, but where do you apply the code? I went through signup without seeing anywhere to apply the code

  • +2

    According to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12650552/redir

If you ever have multiple Cheddar bonuses in your profile, the approval (and linking of qualifying purchases) is based on the order that bonuses were activated.

So probably best to signup from https://www.getcheddar.com.au/campaign/STEPPAY70 so you don't just satisfy the $25 bonus?

    • Hmm but can a single purchase cover each spend requirement (e.g. spending 70 covers the 25 bonus req and the 70 bonus or is it counted as separate spends, spend 95 in 2 transactions to cover the 25 and 70 bonuses?)

    • +2

It sounds like if you use a sign-up bonus, you cannot also claim a referral bonus.

Which means you will not be able to get referral if you use step pay.

In previous cheddar deal - where you can apply multiple non-targeted codes, you needed to make individual transaction matching the condition.

i.e. If you have 2 bonuses $25 and $50 (in that order) each with their respective minimum spend, you will need to make 2 transactions - first one if it is over $25 will be associated to that deal, and second one if it is over $50 will be associated to that deal.

If your spend was $50 and then $25, you will lose the $50 bonus as the $50 spend is associated with $25 bonus.

You cannot make 1 x $75 transaction to satisfy both.

At least in the past, promos have stacked with a single transaction at Cheddar.
I did 2 transactions to be sure, but both bonuses approved immediately after only the first cashback was approved.

      • How much was the amount of each transactions?

        • +3

          It's… in the screenshot?

  • +2

I assume there is a credit check for StepPay sign-ups?

    • +1

Yes there is. An open account is also against my credit history

  • +2

    Damn, signed up yesterday

    • Hey I signed up yesterday too and today I tried adding it from the app (there's an option to add promo code) and it started showing 70 as pending. So try your luck!

      • signed up yesterday and now showing $95 (25 + 70) as pending without any promo code

      • Won't work , only first one added

  • Can't stack with $25 sign up bonus, referall idk tho

    • yeah, the link to this deal has now been updated to /steppay which has $70 showing
before it was the regular homepage which showed $25

    • You just click on a random referral above, sign up, then add the promo code in under account. Then go buy something $70 or more. $95 cashback

      • I like the way you think lol

      • have you actually done this?, cheddar associates words - "If you have a bonus that is not a sign up offer, an individual qualifying purchase must me made for each eligible bonus to become approved. Note approval occurs once a qualifying purchase is approved.", so you would have to do $25 then $70. or it might just not work, 100% tho you can only do one sign up bonus

      • Yes I got the same - $95… but not sure whether they will honour…

  • +2

Just signed up yesterday and made purchases. Cannot add this code now.

  • +3

This Cheddar is a new cashback company?

  • So, what're we getting for $70?

    • cakez

  • +11

Looks like all banks are doing their own cashbacks
    ANZ - CashRewards
    Westpac - ShopBack
    CBA - Cheddar
    AMEX - MyAMEX

NAB - what you wait for? :P

    • +4

I never realised they were owned by banks… wth lol

      • +4

They're not owned by them, aside from CBA who actually own Cheddar and AMEX who own MyAMEX.

The others are just partnering with them. ANZ partner with Cashrewards and Westpac with ShopBack

    • +3

      NAB is WeNAB

We nab your money and blame rate hikes.

    • What is Myamex, and how do you join?

  • I joined Cheddar on 18/2 to buy "FREE" pizza, but I did not receive any email from them. My cheddar account shows the purchase but did not confirm my cash back.
Cheddar has no contact email address or phone number.
Good luck to those who successfully had the cash back. I am no longer interested in Cheddar.

      "DERP"

Click FAQ on the bottom of the website. They respond quickly too.

    • +1

Their email support is great. Follow the help and you'll find the email

    • +1

yea, they responded very quickly for mine. The Cheddar showed that I clicked on it and it didn't track. I had evidence that I paid using the Cheddar App (Screenshot of order confirmation in Cheddar App, I even had video recording but I did not need to use it). They approved it and I got my $70.

  • Where to spend $70 wisely?

    • +3

      chemist warehouse

edit: there is no 'shop deal' button on chemist warehouse for me…

Ebay . Maximize with stores that don't normally get promo codes .

      • Can we also use this with items with promo codes?

    • I bought protein powder for my son athlets son and the wife got a present for our grandchild
We were due to buy them anyway.. winning
      $140 saved

  • Can you spend $70 in 2 transactions or does it have to be minimum $70 in a single transaction?

    • +1

      Single

      • And does the $70 have to be after deducting GST and shipping?

        • Including GST but not sure about shipping.

  • +1

shame that I just signed up for bookings 22% offer

  • Thanks OP. Been meaning to sign up to cheddar for a while now

  • I added the code to my existing account and the binus shows as pending, will I get the bonus?

    • did you alr have the $25 new user bonus? if so, no. if no, and you havent spent then, idfk probably.

  • How long does a purchase take to show up in click history? Mine shows chemist warehouse but doesn't show the specific amount yet

    • think the click history just shows the click, the purchase is meant to show up under Cashback.
not sure how long Cheddar usually takes to do it.. I want to know also.

    • Have you received your pending cashback for CW? I made a purchase this morning, but can see in click history, but not in cashback yet.
