In a last second FOMO, looking for a 256gb. My decision was made.

    Only RED 128gb INSTOCK.

Saved me money, my phone will probably die the minute the last red 128gb phone is sold.

  • +3

All 256GB finally out of stock

  • Couldn’t go past the last step even though says in stock. Tried few times without luck so give up. Hope you guys finally get this👍

  • +2

So many iPhone 12 Mini - Brand New - listings on eBay with delivery times of 13-17 February 😂

  • +3

As previos 2 years ownership of this phone. I love the size in my hand, but the battery life is terrible as a heavy user.

    • Yep I agree it’s a great phone but the battery is not good for a heavy user if they don’t have access to convenient charging through the day

  • +1

Looks like nearly out of stock only red left with 128gb option good luck anyone left

  • It's not a good phone battery wise, lasts less than a day.
I guess retailers are just trying to get rid of it, almost similar($40-50 more) priced in India few days back.

    • Nope ind price is costly still

  • +1

Just pulled the trigger :) Still available!

  • All phone models showing out of stock

    • +2

Red 128gb still showing for me. 5:56am Brisbane time

      • Yes right.. am just hoping this goes OOS so I know this deal is for real..

      • This is not good, last night this red model was showing out of stock. Only white was in stock for 128gb.

        • I’ve only seen the 64 and 256 out of stock. Red 128 has always been in stock for me. White 128 was the second last to go.

I think people think this deal is too good to be true. But I just reckon it’s perfectly valid for a carrier to offload stock that is stagnant of an older phone.

The amount of money they’ll lose will be a rounding error for Optus/Amaysim.

Plus the sim plan is such a bad price lol if people continue that. That’s where the real money is.

          • +1

@checkingthisout: I saw all the red oos last night

            • +1

@snvl: The fastest colour iPhone is the slowest to sell. I can’t allow it. We must OOS it.

              It’s gone. 🫠

  • just ordered red 128GB

  • Only Red 128gb model available left now

  • Anyone know if this iPhone is compatible with Apple air tag's?… I'm new to Apple.

    • +1

Yes it is “ Precision Finding is compatible with iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.”

Don’t quote me but I think it’s any phone that has the W1 or more Bluetooth chip.

      Scroll down to the bottom.

      https://www.apple.com/au/airtag/

  • Thanks OP, ordered the Blue one last night.

  • 22k clicks… and some of the models are still available. Well, I did ordered one but I've doubts. lets see if any tracking number is given.

  • Just ordered the red 128GB which is the only one showing in stock.

  • Todays the day. We’re either getting shipping notifications or cancellation emails. Either way, they’re going to be busy at Amaysim this morning lol.

    • +2

Well, I spoke to chat yesterday and they were as ambiguous as it could be. Effectively they said they would come to an agreement with the customer if they could not deliver. Did not answer whether there will be a full refund or not.

On the other hand to safeguard myself, I went to the account and remove the card info and changed to Bpay. Not that it matters for the original order but no faith in any optus affiliates which stored card info.

      • +5

It says in the terms that the bundle is together phone and sim. If refunded it must be refunded together.

“ The Eligible Plan and Apple device are sold as a bundle, if any return
is required under the manufacturer’s warranty, our policies, or the Consumer Guarantees, the bundle must be returned as a whole.”

A TIO complaint is a consumer guarantee to which they would never fight.

    • One would hope so!
      Nothing here so far :/

  • +2

My glass is half empty as I await the outcome. That said, it’s been an enjoyable 1st half 😄

  • Can we price beat this with OW?

    • go for it

  • holy so cheap that i thought this was a scam

    • +1

it might be. we'll know today

    • +10

It says brand new right on the terms and their website. This is Optus. Not the local small phone store. Optus could sell 10,000 phones in a flash if it wanted. It’s a tier 1 carrier owned by a tier 1 Singapore carrier.

    • +11

Wow this dude is so sour….What are you doing on Ozbargain?

    • +2

As much as I understand that disillusionment, say bitterness and appreciate somewhat crafted sarcasm - all separately and in each case I assume your intentions are good - hopefully, I have just scored a still-cutting-edge $350 iphone instead of a $1000-2000 one that I used to feel I needed to buy, and I don't feel I've been showering in any excess.

edit: I guess ironically I might be drowning in excess, having problems like the one I described. Depends on one's prospect and approach. Well, that heavily downvoted comment certainly makes you think.

    • +2

You wrote all this nonsense but you couldn't read the product page congratulations you are stupid :) #GrumpyBoi

    • +3

Don't be upset because you missed out.

      Be happy for us

    • +2

      Someone's missed out. ouch !

  • Stock officially all gone

    • +8

They probably just opened the office, signed in and realised oh we forgot to…

    • +3

Apple dont sell the iphone 12 mini anymore

Did a search on various websites and iphone 12 stock is very limited.

They may have bought the stock from another telco overseas but not enough australian stock to fulfill all the orders.

Nevertheless, battery life is a concern. Used to have one for work and battery needed charging twice a day so YMMV. I generally disliked the phone but thats my personal experience.

  • +8

You can’t really complain battery life on an iPhone that was $275 in itself. Just get a massive power bank from the money you saved not buying this thing at MSRP.

I personally use the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack which I picked up for dirt cheap used, use it as a battery extender/ not like your typical power bank - charge from 0-100. Also not worth at full MSRP but at a discount or if bought used is a viable option.

    • Same! Now we are going to use a $139 battery pack on a $275 iPhone!

    • Can attest the battery life is garbage lite. Because the size is perfect for me and that means tiny battery. Without a charge during the day this phone is not going to work for anyone. Unless you use it now and then.

I just don’t want the phablet size iPhone. If Apple could make this size slightly thicker with a bigger battery that would be perfect for me.

Of course they’ll never do it.

      • +3

iPhone 13 mini is sightly thicker and better battery life….

        • +2

But the price is slightly ridiculous at $1049 or whatever it is. Should have also said. Same price as the original iPhone 12 mini was around $750-800.

          • @checkingthisout:

            Should have also said.

            I've been also waiting for a perfectly-sized, well-made, good-looking, cheap-as, readily-available, secure-but-open phone from Apple with a long-lasting battery!

  • +1

    https://www.amaysim.com.au/plans/devices/apple

They’ve removed the iPhone 12 mini. I assume Optus amaysim wanted these phones gone!

    • +1

Maybe they are the last batch of retail iPhone 12 mini in Australia.

      • +1

I sure hope so Sicaboy as I’m about to sell my current iPhone 12 mini. See this as a battery refresh. I’ll forever dislike amaysim if they screw me.

        • Why don't you just wait until you get the new one before selling your one?

      • Telstra still sell the iPhone 12 Mini haha

    • Hope they gonna do special deal on iPhone 12 next ! Mini screen too small for my bloody old eyes haha

    • -1

Such is the free market! Ripoff at that price of $850. But power to them.

    • Does it come with a 90 day plan as well?

    • -2

He is betting on the fact the this not a price error or something

      • +8

how would it be a price error, the home page banner was advertising the promo pricing, and it was repeated all throughout the marketing material

        • +2

Through the miracle of 'conspiracy theory'.

        • +2

That’s gotta go through marketing, copy and legal. It can’t be a pricing error. Otherwise it’s a company of clowns run by Bozo himself.

      • +5

If it's any sort of error, I would say it was a stock levels error.

    • +1

See if you can find anyone offloading the 90 day plan.

      • Gotta be worth $50 of anyone's money

      • I found one on marketplace last night with the plan the post was pretty funny

        • What's marketplace?

    • +2

pre-order…..on a 2 year old phone. Booragoon's a pretty affluent area in Perth, if you're not familiar. poor battler needs every bit of help paying off that $1 million+ mortgage

  • +3

If anyone receive their tracking email, please post here!

My Boost prepaid runs out tomorrow and I don't know if I should recharge or wait….

    • +3

I haven't received my tracking details yet, but you can use the amaysim plan on your current phone if it supports e-sim and use it while waiting for the phone to arrive.

      • Cheers. Might do that assuming none of our orders will get cancelled. Then I’ll be locked into the plan?

    • I've already activated the service as I set up the eSIM from QR code.

    • +6

Low effort troll… Back to the drawing board.

      • +5

        Preschool level troll….

Back to the sandpit you go

      • Wasn't this an obvious joke?

        • -2

I should've stopped at "Got email."

    • wake up!

    • We are not idiots.

    • +1

They don’t even sell the iPhone 13 Pro on their website. 1/5 stars for effort.

      • +1

        Did you go checking?

        • Of course I did. I would never trust amaysim or Optus without an investigation. You believe they can trusted? Surely not!

    • +6

You got played, they offered me a future upgrade to iPhone 15 Pro Max Ultra Fold 4TB with a free 5 year sim to Optus 6G network

      • -1

Only that? I got 1 free night with Gladys to get anything I want tabled to the current nsw parliament! She said it doesn’t matter she got fired! She said “Doms on the job mate dw bouta thang”

    • Interesting, because mine says 14 pro max 512gb. You got jibbed mate.

  • +3

    (crickets)

  • +2

Did anyone get any update post ordering?

  • Anyone know if there is a time limit on activating the service? Or does it come already activated?

    • +1

Already activated from comments I’ve read above

  • +22

Just spoke to Amaysim on the phone and they said there was 50% off the iPhone 12 mini yesterday and there is no longer any stock. For Metro an estimated 1-5 Business days to receive the device and 3-5 for more rural locations. (I asked if there was a price error and they said no). Not sure if this is conclusive but its definitely more promising.
