Is it suitable for mountain bikes? Does anyone know the difference between the fender and classic versions?
Check the steadyrack website
You will need to knos your tyre width mainly
Does anyone know if I can use this with my regular road bike with 28mm tyres?
The regular model is unfortunately not on sale.
I can tell you it wont work too well.
I have all 3 models - Classic, MTB, Fenders and the problem with the fender ones for road bikes is that the overall design is more for wider tyres than for narrow.
Additionally the plastic fender cap can sometimes hit the downtube.
Cheers
I have 2 x fender racks and 3 x MTB racks and have road bikes with 28mm tyres in each of them. Works fine.
very very tempting!
Tempting except I have road and hybrid bike and normal one not on sale
Wish the MTB model would go on sale….
Good deal - spewing I just bought mine from Amazon the other day for $79.99 which I thought was a decent deal!
My friend measured these and said they are between 70mm and 80mm width, meaning that if the stays (ie the metal supports) for your fenders are any narrower than that at the tyre, your bike won't fit.
Is this is only for folding bikes?
no. The folding bike in the name refers to you able to fold the bike holder arm up against the base plate on the wall. Means when not in use holding the bike, you don't have the bike holding arm sticking out getting in your way.
This particular model of bike rack is
• For tyres up to 2.2 inches
• For bikes with or without Fenders
If you have a typical bike, you'd most likely get the Classic version, but that isn't on sale here.
My MTB is 27.5x2.4 - website says up to 2.4… would it fit?
FYI the limits on the fender model is mac 2.4" width tyres and 25 kg compared to 2.7" and 35kg for the normal MTB version
Good price though
