Still much more expensive than other options…

    • What are these other less expensive deals, are there any for 1000/50 speeds?

  • +4

Same plan is only 79 per month with MATE.

    • +4

Just don't use Mate, go with Tangerine or Superloop.
Cant wait to escape their now useless service

      • what is the problem with Mate?

        • +2

They used to be great value but then they replaced their Vocus L3 backbone (which wasn't that great) over 6 months ago. Since then, they have steadily got worse. I gave them the benefit of the doubt initially (they apologised for poor service) but i need a solid connection for work.
Plenty of discussion on reddit and whingepool

Completely agree worst ISP ive had. Dial up speed evening times, if it loads at all. Constant dropouts multiple times per day ranging from a few seconds to a couple hours. Didnt send me bills before charging my account twice. Even speeds when working are not whats advertised. Stay far far away from MATE!!

Hardly a deal when a business does this for new customers

    • Agreed. I'm going to start downvoting all 'bargains' for new customers only.

      • +1

But it's a deal specifically for new customers, so it doesn't seem fair to downvote it when you aren't eligible.

Not a great deal compared to other reliable providers as well

  • +1

lol this is an absolutely garbage "black friday" deal - still more expensive than superloop for 1gb. Why even bother guys?

    • +2

      Superloop - 500/50 for new customers - 3TB data a month.

      Aussie BB - 1000/50 - unlimited data a month.

      • That's strange, I pay 129 for 1gb with superloop, must be for existing customers only.

        • Yep Superloop changed it to 500/50 a few months ago. Existing Superloop customers stay on 1000/50.

When did this happen? I thought ABB used to be OzBargain sweetheart.
I need an abn and just cheking if ABB has any deals going… and turns out OB is now out?! :/

    • The same Aussie BB discount was posted twice last month and got 101 upvotes and around 8k clicks combined.

    • +1

Users first want best service and speed. Now when Aussie had it for years, its treated like good brands and hate starts.
If you want good stable service with low pings, you cant go wrong with Aussie and Superloop.

  • At the moment this is the only ISP that offers 1000/50 from what I can find.

Superloop and tangerine are both 500/xx.

    Anyone else got any ideas?

For $139 it's not too bad.

    • 1000/50 (nbn ultrafast) is sold by Launtel, Telstra, Optus, TPG, Future Broadband.

      • +1

        Thanks.

        Launtel: $142.60
        Tpg: only lists 500/25 : $114 for 6m, then $144
        FutureB: $345 o_0
        Optus/Telstra: Hahaha

So yeah, ABB still the cheapest…

        • Future Broadband $345 is for 1000/400. They have 1000/50 for $135-$145.

          • +1

@Twix: Ah that's much more reasonable. Cheers

    • For $139 it's not too bad.

Can get it for $104 with More Telecom, for new and existing customers.

  • Would have liked 100/40mb or 250/40mb… Seems I'm staying with Superloop.

  • these guys are solid, they have hiked the price once during our subscription. we do get the max speed even during the peak hours, the rare drop outs though. not sure how this compares to the other big dogs of the ISP world

    • +1

      it compares badly

    • Yea, I have used multiple providers and Aissie and superloop are the best in the market and local support. Cant believe so much hate now for them.
No company cares about existing users.

  • Hey Everyone, Leaptel still have the promotion for $79.95 for opticomm (6 months) or $74.95 for NBN (for 12 months.)

  • pathetic deal, ABB should be ashamed

  • Really thinking of switching providers, how does Superloop compare to ABB in terms of speed and reliability?

    • Superloop are second best in my books. Ping is little lower than Aussie in my case. For gaming, I loved Aussie. For 6 month bonus I moved and will move back to Aussie :)

  • Has anyone had any luck asking support to apply the discount for existing customers? just got a email for 20 a/m off the 1000/50 plan, thats what I'm paying for 250/25..

    • I had a go at this with the sales chat, but no luck. Might try and email…

  • It's a trash deal but if you're forced onto OptiComm you don't have a great selection to choose form.

  • I signed up earlier in Nov for the 1000/50 but they didn't connect until the 30th due to an issue, I just rang them about this, and they instated the deal and also credited my account.
