After the recent flury of 3D printer posts I took the plunge into the hobby, instead of going the Ender well travelled road I decided to take a punt on an Anycubic Vyper. I also purchased 6kgs of their filament and I'm loving the results so far.
Long story short - I should have waited for the upcoming 20% off (22% for Ebay Plus) Black Friday sale. Monday 21st to Wed 30th.
Let's hope there is no price jacking.
Can recommend the Vyper - easy to assembly, to auto level and to print.

  • Just after I buy the Kobra 2 days ago 😒

    • I feel your pain, when it comes to a purchase you just have to live with it once you've pulled the trigger. On the plus side we are now printing!

      • well in a few days I will be printing 😂

I was printing with my ender3v2 but it was terrible so returned 🙄

  • Some of their prices are better on their website depending on the currency conversion at the time.

EBay with 20% off for the plus is $588
Their website is $537 with the PayPal $20 off promo code

Well spotted, and there is another $10 off on signup.

  • Looking at the Photon M3 max, is there any benefit to having the box compared to the likes of Kobra and Vyper? I'm new to all this. I'd love to be able to print massive models but I guess it's likely not all that beginner friendly

    • The Kobra and Vyper are FDM printers which arent as accurate as the photon m3 max but more hardy/usable for food safe plastics while the Photon M3 max uses resin and has unmatched detail compared to FDM. If you want to print models then a resin printer is what you want. Resin printers have extra costs though with the resin being expensive and screens needing replacement every once in a while as well as needing extra steps with washing it in alcohol and curing it with UV.
Also resin is carcinogenic so you need nitrile gloves and a proper filtered mask

      • If he wants to print 'massive models' then a FDM would be the way to go. Small, highly detailed models then resin is the go. Loving my Vyper, which has been printing pretty much nonestop since I got it two days ago.

        • @Quarn I say "massive" because the print area is a decent amount bigger than the other models. I've seen pics of people putting their models together after printing as well, so I guess it's possible to make bigger things in smaller chunks

      • @Id106 Thanks for writing this up :) I had no idea resin was carcinogenic so that kind of puts me off. I had noticed on their website that they offered an AirPure, but I thought that was more to help with odour. I can't smell, but I was interested because there are others in the house that might hate me lol. I guess it might also help with fumes

  • I have a vyper, can recomend it for sure
