Crunchyroll Premium Mega Fan: PKR Rs250/Month (~A$1.80), PKR Rs2,500/Year (~A$17.95) @ Crunchyroll Pakistan (VPN Req to Sign up)

1480

Anime Fans - gather up!

It's been a year since the last Crunchyroll Premium post was made. That deal no longer exists because Crunchyroll decided to Reduce Monthly Prices in Nearly 100 Countries & Territories while ignoring our beloved country (Argentina ofc!). Ironically, Argentina has tripled in price, from ARS $125/month to ARS $379/month and ARS $1250/year to ARS $3799/year (Mega Fan subscription). Since Argentinian rates have been crashing against AUD, the price increase is more like double after converting to AUD. But we're OzBargainers! Double the price? Hell no.

Because Crunchyroll have a love-hate relationship with OzBargain, they decided to significantly reduce the prices of India and Pakistan, who received the biggest discounts of all countries. With today's currency conversions, the price remains very similar to that in last year's deal. Crunchyroll's biggest highlight? …

In India, Mega Fan will change from 9.99 USD to 99 Indian Rupees (87.5% decrease)

However, I had to dig deeper. The biggest price decrease I found was in Pakistan, where Mega Fan changed from 9.99 USD to PKR 250 for Pakistan. That's 88.5% off!

Anyways, the discount between India and Pakistan is quite small, so decide what you want to do…

Luckily, signing up to Crunchyroll is extremely easy and should not take more than a few minutes of your time (I did it in within 2 mins, go figure).

Note

Crunchyroll decided to cancel the majority of subscriptions back last year after being posted on OzBargain, and I'm not sure if refunds were even issued. As a result, I suggest going with the monthly plan to be a little safe, but you do have to sacrifice two months

Should be in forums so more people get the deal (given what they did last year)

  • Probs going to get a take-down request like last deal.

    • +1

yeah… I've asked the mods for advice

  • Is there a VPN that anyone recommends to do this? Can't find one that works.

    • Express VPN works for me

      • +1

Mate you're really making the most of your VPN lately aren't you with all these overseas deals!

        • +2

Only trying to help my fellow Ozbargainers save money during these tough times

  • +3

Hi OP. I’m using NordVPN but it seems doesn’t work for Netflix. Tried Turkey as suggested but the app always connect to Australian contents.

But I’ll try your trick for Crunchyroll. Thx

    • Netflix is constantly cracking down on VPN servers, and VPN companies are always changing/updating their servers. Might work one day, maybe not the next. A few months back I used NordVPN to watch some American shows and it worked fine

If you're asking about signing up, I used Express VPN

    • +2

I use Nord, but I don't seem to have any connection options for either India or Pakistan :(

    • Dammit. I just got Nord today in the Shopback promo…I only wanted it for the Netflix Turkey deal. Seems like I wasted my time

  • +4

Last time I did the argentina crunchyroll https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/655079, it got removed less than a week on my account. I wouldn't bother tbh.

    • +6

I've been using it ever since that deal and no issues on my end personally. Even auto renewed recently for the $14-odd.

    • It got removed due to them finding out and violating T&Cs. They sent OzB a takedown notice which mods declined. In case they do remove the subs off your account, save this post for a week and then sign up :)

  • Last time i signed up premium with Argentina crunchyroll, it got removed a week later.

  • +4

Those who got cancelled, did you get a refund?
And are we able to share accounts with others if we get on the mega fan sub?

    • +2

I wanted to know this too

      • +1

Have just tested this and while I wasn't able to test the refund, I was able to share accounts with a friend and watch simultaneously.

        • Yes, they allow 4 simultaneous screening at the same time

  • +2

I've contacted mods and have decided to keep this post up for the OzBargain community to benefit.

If Crunchyroll has a problem again, mods will take appropriate action, like last time

  • +1

Other than Nord and Express VPN, is there another free VPN service which allows connection to these locations?

    • +5

I used Hola VPN - an extension for both Chrome and Edge browser.
      Worked fine.

      Good luck.

      • how do you connect to Pak through Hola, can't see it, just says US

        • Sorry for the late reply, there should be an arrow that will make all the available countries appear. Might be too the right hand side of the US flag.

          • +1

@Deviant88: thanks, all good now though, somehow my surf shark subscription wasn't cancelled and used it successfully

    • I don't think Nord has servers there anymore, I'm trying to connect now and don't see any options for it

  • +1

For those saying about them cancelling OzBargain accounts, just plug the URL in manually so they don't know where you came from.

    • Wym plug URL manually and how does it work stopping them?

      • +4

Every click through from OzBargain is tracked by the website you're going to. They all know where you come from.

Putting the URL in manually doesn't put you in the same pool as those signing up via this method directly from OzBargain.

If you click through from here; it's easier for them to find out those who are 'abusing' this method and cancel those accounts.

        • That’s if you click through from OzBargain through the “Go to deal” button. The links in the Instructions section isn’t affiliated to OzB.

Am I wrong? Please correct me if I am

          • @I Smell Pennies: I thought Google Analytics could be used to track inbound URL details from external websites that link to your site

  • Do they have the new Chainsaw Man show in English

    • +8

      dubbed??? ewwwwwww

      • Haha yeah I know sorry 😢

      • +6

        C'mon don't be a gate keeper

Just let people enjoy it the way they want

    • +1

English dub starts tomorrow, first 2 episodes are available now but subbed.

  • MegaFan?? Is there hentai

    • +1

I have a friend who would like to know the same

  • Last time this happened, there ended up being cancellations on everyone's CrunchyRoll account.

  • -1

ozbarginers really don't have an AB account? ouch

    • What’s the cheapest seedbox? Technically freeleeching isn’t free and I need to seed back. If I’m going to seed I can’t leave my computer running 24/7 and potentially burn the house down and what not as my laptops are old by todays standards mbp2012+dell2014 no budget for upgrade bc car repayments etc. I mainly use a ipad. Genuine question.

      • +1

I don't use a seedbox, and never looked into them. I setup my own server on a UPS that runs 24/7. If you don't want to set one up, then just use nyaa where you don't need to seed.

      • Feralhosting.com

Unlimited traffic and they don't care about public trackers but not sure why you would want a seedbox for those.

Anime fans use zoro.to free and without ads

    • +1

Thanks for this. Recently found out not only Bleach Thousand Year Blood War is not on Crunchyroll but also the old series has been removed as well. Gutted. There's no way in hell I'm getting a Disney+ sub just for that. Will reactivate my Crunchy sub when AoT last season drops.

      • But will it be the last season? Or final season part 3 lol

  • +3

lol went to pay on my Commbank card and it got flagged as a "high risk" transaction and declined it

    • +3

      Same

      • +2

Same. I was really looking forward to this but both Commbank and another bank declined

    • I paid with suncorp debit no problems

    • +3

Update after having the same issue: I signed up for a Revolut card and transferred funds to the virtual card from my Commbank card. Also, I made a new Crunchyroll account and went on private browser after constantly receiving “Unauthorised request” on both the Commbank and virtual card. It ended up passing through, I suspect that “unauthorised request” errors occur when theres too many failed attempts.

      • +1

Yay, you fixed the problem. Enjoy

      • +1

I tried the Revolut method and it worked 💪

      • Hmm. I keep getting the unathorised requests error. Even tried added Revolut card to account but still errors.

        • This is from the crunchyroll forum:

“ The "unauthorized request" message simply means that a subscription has been unsuccessfully attempted multiple times in a short amount of time, leading to an automatic blocking of the card by our system. You can reach out to our customer service and have free trial eligibility reset by one of our agents. After that you either wait out the block duration, or use a different payment method, for example PayPal, or a different card to subscribe.”

I read this and so made another Crunchyroll account with my alt gmail and didn’t get the error again and used a private browser as well.

      • +1

Thank you! The Revolut virtual card worked for me after my other two bank cards didn't work.

  • If I'm already subscribed, what's the trick to subscribe with this discounted pricing?

  • +1

Well that was surprisingly easy. Thanks OP. My kids will be happy with that.

  • They cancelled my sub last time and refunded. Waste of time resubbing.

  • I'm on the second year of Argentinian deal. Auto renewed to 1250 ARS which is less than $13 a year =)

  • Is there any language or content difference between those countries and AU?

    • Urdu dub?

      • Imagine listening to that dub while watching Spy X Family

  • +3

Thanks for sharing another great alternative.

Just signed up to the PK one - straight forward and easy..
Used urban VPN (free) extension in browser (Firefox) and signed up with no problems.

    • Good to hear! Enjoy

    • Do you have to do anything to access Urban VPN?
I get "Connection error" and seems to be no way to sign up

      • Nope, literally just add extension to browser. Once installed, click icon, picked country… it connected & i signed up.

  • +1

    Thank you for sharing!

I missed out on the Argentina one but so far all good and working. Fingers crossed it stays!

  • Ublock origin removes all adds on browser, is there any reason to get other than seeing new releases on the first day?

    • Isn't free limited to 480p, or is that old news?

      • Free users can watch 1080p. But free accounts are going to have very limited viewing options only "select" shows on some sort of a rotation. It works out to be approx 2000 episodes at any given time. No idea how often a rotation will occur and some titles wont ever be put into the rotation.
Even the short cute cat shows like Poyopoyo and Bananya are now behind premium only. I still haven't finished watching those. :(

  • Works for a few minutes and then payment method fails :(

  • +1

Thanks! i managed to get it working. I signed up for a new Crunchy account under a Pakistan+verified the email with the VPN+Zippay for the debit card. Hopefully they don't cancel subs.

  • I've got it working eventually, but would I have to use a VPN everytime I want to watch something?

    • +2

      no you dont

    • +1

Nope no need for VPN to watch.
Tested it last night and all working smoothly :)

  • if you turn off the VPN at the payment screen will it not process or will it go through? I'm having the Comm bank fraud error as well

  • +1

Move from Turkey to Pakistan now XD

  • +1

    Surfshark still has Pak vpn
Did it on my mobile took two minutes but had to use my anz card as commbank didn't work

  • whats the turkish pricing

    • If I remember correctly it was between $30-40 AUD/year

  • +1

HSBC card worked. I used Hola VPN on chrome. I bought it with Indian rupees imagining it’s safer since most people would go for the cheaper Pakistan.

So far so good. I choose Australia and Melbourne postcodes for the card. I hope that will be ok.

  • After picking if If I wand 1, 3 or 12 months it just gives me an error, not even getting to payment options.

    Will try again tomorrow.

    • Still couldn't get it to work on the free VPN's and Nord doesn't have Pakistan or India. Just signed up through Turkey instead, a bit more than the two posted here but still far cheaper than Aus.
