    • I’ve never had it work. I always call the number.

    • It was working last night.

In the top right corner, swap the country to Australia. Works fine after you do so

    • I had to turn off ad blocker so the captcha would pop up. Eventually it blocked me prjbably exessive use, then used Microsoft edge

    • Use InPrivate/Incognito, or change browser. Happens to me too.

Can you use coles egift card bought from Shopback to buy these?

    • +1

      The system wont stop you.

    • It didn’t allow me this morning.

    Cant use with OnlyFans. :(

    • Lol

    • +2

Bugger! Thought I could save a couple of bucks on my favourite content creator.

  • Has anybody asked if there is a way to block the card and then unblock it when ready to use? It was possible with the previous one.

    • Someone has reported calling up to lock it. So, then there must also be a way to unlock it. This is the same as the precious version. Would be so much better if people could do it online and would surely limit their losses of having to refund fraudulent transactions.

  • +3

Coles and superswap no longer on shopback haha

      Ozbargained or Coles PMCed?

    • Where you going to do that?

      • Here in chatswood coles. People are doing that for the past 2 hours that I’d been here. They were there since morning probably.

        • Wow, so you got 18K worth of GCs?
Did you get any $250 ones?

        • I mean how to turn card to cash?

          • +4

@a1234my: There was a way in the past.
It was the Australia Post Load and Go Card
It was good while it lasted. They dont offer the card anymore / discontinued.

Managed to accumilate over 10k worth of profits from prepaid eftpos/ credit cards via various methods

Those who knew about it never talked about it to avoid auspost closing the loophole.

            • @easternculture: Auspost block the card once you have topup with eftpos card. You can only topup from Eftpos card not Visa/MC. They still owe me $2.

              • +1

@samehada: It was a great card. Load up free points. And withdraw as cash sometimes get money the same day! Lolollol too bad they stopped it

              • @samehada: Mine was ok with either. Lasted for 3+ years and never blocked

            • +1

@easternculture: Back in the day I accumulated over 1.5million in AUD using that card!

              • @Turd: Shit. How much profit though. I profited around 10k from recycling money via various credit cards

                • @easternculture: A lot!. QFF points as well as reduced interest on loans.

Prob avg. 60 to 100k a month cash for about 18 months.

            • +1

@easternculture: I had my card locked for loading it with eftpos cards. Ended up having to go to the financial ombudsmen to get it unlocked.

    • Can you clarify the easy money?

  • Regular Card Launderers can consider getting BPay account.

  • +1

Penrith store is making their own rule - Only 5 cards per household.

We were 2 and they bluntly refused stating I may try another store but this is their store policy.

    • Id ask for the their employee number and make a formal complaint to coles. What asses…

    • -3

If they didn't have that rule then they probably would have sold out by now and you couldn't buy any. Is that a better outcome?

      • But they were two different households? Doesn’t make sense lol

        • +1

Always go in separately, never know when they will pull this trick.

    • +1

you should have written complain about the staff with their name and store manager through online as well as on store. this is taking my nerve as some staff thinks they are giving us money for free and obliging to us by allowing us to buy… !

i have all member of family standing one after anther without talking to each other … after i buy we all go out and then get back in together to do normal shop :D :D :D

you go to the same store just don't go near the same employee … remember they don't sleep there so there is always shift and always nice staff on work.

      • I agree with you, they have stop me buying more saying I have bought 5 before. I don’t want to argue I just ok and left to other store and got another 40 cards, 4 of us, we are going to buy the entire State where we can find the cards. If I can buy the bloody half price chocolates for the whole trolley why I am not allowed to buy the whole trolley of gift cards.

        • terms & condition of the card is clear that they gives out 5 per person not 5 per family. so basically you can buy 5 per person of the family per day as long as there is supply… !

the issue is individual staff related then Coles in my opinion… some staff are excellent while others are painful and they watch you like you are criminal .. lol.

  • Coles rationing these cards like Toilet paper during the pandemic

  • Anyone had a card activate and approve but doesnt work?

Cant check balance and have tried to use it in store and online

  • +2

Do you reckon they will run this again next year in Feb?

    • +1

      Yep

  • Has anyone had success using this to pay a bill from AGL?

    • +1

Yes, I do it all the time with these cards

  • +1

Coles Brisbane CBD still has some left, but it is enforcing one transaction per day per person limit no matter how many cards or what values you bought. They said that it is a federal law. Has anyone else heard of such law before? Could be just overzealous staff and duty manager.
Does anyone know other brisbane stores that still have a lot of stock?

    • +2

Federal law - LOL - Should ask them for the relevant legislation.. but not worth the pointless argument, let them feel important for 2 seconds of their lives, working at Coles won't give them much other satisfaction

      • They told me one time that it was against the law in Victoria to sell more than 3. I asked them what law and which section. They could not answer but surrounded me with 1 female and 2 males including the security guy. I am a 65-year-old lady, I don't know what they thought I was going to do.

        • My gosh.. the creativity of those on a power trip, I don't know where they come from. I wonder if there is an easy way to report them to the head office.

        • Play the harrassment card and ask them to call the police lol

    • Not Brisbane but plenty of $250 cards found in the Gold Coast, including Pacific Fair.

  • -1

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere - can anyone confirm if they've been able (or unable) to purchase a $250 Coles Mastercard Gift Card from a Shopback Super Swap Coles voucher at the self-serve checkout? Coles generally don't allow a gift card purchase from another gift card but I wasn't sure if there was a confirmed loophole. Thanks!

    • +2

Was able to buy superswap and then change to Coles gc last night, 5 X $250.
Used the Coles GC to purchase promo GC. But this morning am not able to load promo GC on to SB as a payment method, so that method not working for me now.
Sorry, realise it wasn't your question… The red Coles GC does work to buy the promo GC

      • Thank you!
So just to confirm, you chose the Coles GC not the Coles Groceries (I've never purchased a Coles GC on SB before)? And then you did 5 separate transactions through the self-serve checkout for the promo GC? I recall someone saying we can't split the payments. Hope that makes sense.

        • Not the grocery card. Not sure about buying individually at self service checkout. I bought 5 promo cards in one go at a staffed checkout, split payment because as you say, cannot do split payments at self serve

          • @3sky: Did the staff allow you to use gift card??? It's a digital card so you would need to select gift card as payment to scan the gift card in order to use it?

            • +1

              @hoyanikon: Use self checkout
As soon as they authorise it, tell the to go away and continue with payment of your choice as usual

            • +1

@hoyanikon: Yes. Staff didn't have a problem. They weren't sure, but did allow and didn't have a problem when they saw it worked. I guess just a matter of getting staff to do their approvals 5 times at a self serve, or going to staffed checkout and them accepting split gift card payments.

              • +4

@3sky: Sometimes the staff tells you it won't work because that is what management has told them and are quite surprised when it does. On the other hand, you have the officious ones, usually older females that go out of their way to stop you.

                • @Yola: Yep had a older female try and stop at service desk. Should have just said I needed to get more things and gone to the self checkout.

BSed by saying it was from my "Coles account balance" lmao

    • I can confirm that you can buy a Coles Mastercard using a SB Super Swap Coles GC on the self-serve. The real challenge is locating any stock - I got the last $100 GC in my local store!

  • Can this Coles MasterCard accept a refund from the merchant?

I went to a Coles Express petrol station to purchase a $100 Coles Myer Group GC using a $100 Coles MasterCard. The transaction went through smoothly, but the store just couldn't activate the Coles Myer Group GC. They ended up doing a refund because the refund can only go back to the original card that was made for the purchase.

When I log in to the online account to check the balance, I can only see the pending transaction for purchase but don't see the refund transaction. Any thoughts?

    • +2

      Yes.

I've previously had an instore purchase refunded to a Coles Mastercard gift card. I had to wait 5 business days before the funds were credited to my card. The online portal never showed anything about a pending transaction.

      • +1

Thanks WookieMonster. I'll wait for 5 business days and see how it goes.

      • Refunds never show up as pending immediately either on the VISA or MC networks. Why would GCs be any different?

Only on Revolut, do I sometimes receive a notification that a merchant has initiated a refund, and expect to wait another 3 - 5 business days for cleared funds.

        • If you have a refund being processed to an OnlyONE Visa gift card, it will actually say on the online balance check portal something along the lines of “there is a pending transaction that may affect the final balance”. (Well, that happened to me on the only occasion I had an instore refund processed onto an OnlyONE Visa gift card.)

          • @WookieMonster: Has anyone here experienced refund from prepaid visa/mastercard via Gpay/Apple Pay?

I haven't received my refund yet. Altough it has already been 3 bussiness day, but I didn't receive any notification from Gpay (for example refund $xxx). I got in the receipt mentioned "refund visa prepaid approved". I'm quite regret that I didn't bring the actual card when I was there.

  • My local Auspost does not take split payment. Anyone manage to use multiple Coles Prepaid MC to pay rego?

    • +1

Worked for me using 2 cards yesterday in WA. May depend on staff's experience.

      • Thanks.

  • Anyone still coming across any $250s in VIC?

    • No, but they may restock anytime.

  • -1

Coles Maroubra Junction Still have some $250s

    • -3

Well don't make people run around Sydney for your fun .. !

I been to the store mentioned here and return without anything

      • +3

Maybe there was but someone beat you.to it

        • -1

          That's what people say …!

      • Actually, there was some available when I was there

      • +1

Then take a drive to Warners Bay. A whole dedicated 'centre floor' stand, full!

        • -1

I could driven to Wollongong if there were any left with proof obviously but too late now.. !

All Coles has $100. Gift card in stock so worst case just buy that.

  • How do you pay Water? At the post office? The online option takes you to bpoint page and the payment was rejected. Just saw telephone option so that might be how

    • +3

Tried to pay for Water Corp bill online and by phone option (automated and operator) didn't work for me.
If you have a barcode on your bill for Post Billpay you should be able to pay at the post office, apparently. If you have direct debit set up the bill will not have the bar code so AusPost can't process… A big hassle.
So I've cancelled direct debit. Will see how the new bill will show up later, and maybe even try to pay the service charges for the rest of the financial year (around $911) up front.
Do you have a barcode on your bill?

      • I also have direct debit. No barcode. Thanks for the reply

        • Received a bill with a bar code but still no good. Water corp requires either cheque or savings. Even tried by assigning a pin but no good.

          • +1

@3sky: Possibly using Snip but with hefty 0.85% fee

            • @yht: Cool. I'll try it. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Anyone holding a $250 Superswap GC able to confirm if the $250 Coles GC is currently available to swap as I know someone mentioned it wasn't available yesterday?

    • I did the swap yesterday 4 pm. For a few hours yesterday the Superswap card was no available but if you already had one Coles was still there for you.

  • Called the hotline n managed to hold the card until I m ready to use it.

    • +5

Wish they implemented this in some sort of self service website or app to prevent theft..

      • -1

They could implement an optional 2 factor-authentication where buyers could enter their phone number on checkout. In this way, they could also put a restriction on numbers of cards per phone number.

Buyers will have a choice, safer usage with 2 factors authentication or risk being hacked without entering phone number.

        • To avoid complicated methods to restrict how many people can buy they should simply issue $500 or $1000 card that way you won't need much to pay bills..!

Also on their website they should allow people to add their mobile number so everytime card is used text messages with code is sent out for verification before card can be used

    • Hi @asc, could you share which number you called? I tried calling the number on the colesmastercardbalance website but none of the options seemed relevant.

      • +4
        1. Number on back of packaging. Select 1 for balance. Final option press 0 to speak with someone. 0756606022
