nvidia recommend price for 3080 12GB is $799 us dollar which equals to approx $1100 aus plus GST so pls HODL

    • The launch price of 10GB in Aus was almost at 1100 right?

      • It was $1139 but that was for the Founder's Edition back in Sept 2020 .

        • That was before men landed on the moon.

2080 Super less than 2 years ago for $799. Give another $100 for inflation (generous). This class of card should be $899.

    • You starting to sound like jimmy ..

MSRP of $799 USD and you want it for $899 AUD ..

      • Yep. I think the performance jump from 1080 to 2080 was about the same as 2080 to 3080. Price should be similar and adjust for inflation.

        • What you think doesn't really change the facts .

Fact is the MSRP is $799 USD for this model and getting it for $899 AUD is highly unlikely atm .

$1100 is a more realisitic figure which is actually below MSRP once you factor in currency conversion , GST etc .

          • @Benny99: Haha. What I think determines what I'm willing to pay. You want to buy this then go for it. That's the free market baby!

            • @locknuts: For sure dude more power to ya i just think your expectations are unrealistic as it stands right now.

              • @Benny99: RRP means very little in general, but the last year should have taught you that MRSP for graphics cards means absolutely zero. Why would you now be holding it up as some yardstick of price floor or value? Boggles the mind.

                • @ssfps: How does it boggle the mind ??

Ofcourse i know why prices have been absurd over the past 2 years which make the MSRP look stupid.

Either way manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is the sticker price recommended by a product's producer to retailers which is essentially a baseline indicator for what prices should be at or around in "normal times"

Only recently have AMD GPUs have been selling at or below MSRP and Nvidia cards are still overpriced right now and need to fall further.

Locknuts suggestion that this Nvidia GPU should be $900 is well below MSRP and unlikely to happen right now it might change closer to the 4000 series announcement.

                  • @Benny99:

This is what boggles the mind. This assumption is ridiculous and has never held true for any industry. RRP is marketing/market positioning, and you seem to think it's an indicator of BOM cost (it's not).

                    • @ssfps: So what exactly are you expecting this card to be priced at then ?

Never did i say its an indicator of the BOM cost..

Either way all i wanna see is lower GPU prices for everyone /end

        • 2080 = 1080 ti (or 30% more than 1080)

          3080 = 2x 2080
