Nothing but problems with ASUS ZenBook 16 and I'm not alone.

    • You mean this one from this super good deal?

Yeah, you can see my comments on that thread.

I'm sure at least some of the issues are due to AMD processor which wouldn't affect this deal, but ASUS' support is so bad that I'll never buy anything from ASUS again. They refuse to acknowledge that there are any issues at all when I've literally got a Google Drive full of evidence of my own issues and screenshots/links to people on the internet with the same issues. Meanwhile, ASUS pushes down very regular updates to address the plethora of issues. If they had just acknowledged the issues then it would've gone a long way, but it seems they don't want to admit they've released an unfinished product.

  • also same price at JB, quite tempting but the last 2 zenbooks 16 Ive had were full of issues.

    • Thats why right now I still can't decide if just stick back with a new Macbook or switch over to Windows again …

      • Go for Lenovo.

get an MBP at this price and be done with it?

Arya may not be in the Fruit ecosystem.

      • Hey, there's nothing wrong with Cantaloupe Computers

      • I also wasn't till around Nov 2023. but m chips are just way too good to ignore. accelerated my workflow considerably, and there's no performance loss running on battery, also battery lasts much longer than any windows laptop I had before. I hate macos and iphones, but my personal laptop is mac now. sad but true

        • Sounds like it’s working for you then. No need to hate, it’s just a tool. I have a MBP which I only got recently for my work and it’s working great for me - I use Parallels for Windows software and it runs fast. And the battery lasts ages.

    • I'd trust MBP more, but if you need the RAM/SSD, the comparable 36GB/1TB option is over 2x more expensive.

Still, in many cases, it's a better option if you can afford the price difference.

      • in the same workflow where I needed 64gb on windows, I am fine with 16 on MBP (16 inch M1 Pro) memory usage rarely goes above 12, also storage is much faster. meaning it's better optimised. memory bandwidth is very solid too

but yeah it's given that one pays more for upgrades on apple ecosystem

        • Correct, it's also the reliability and longevity of MB that wins my heart, my 2012 macbook pro is the longest ever piece of electronic equipment I owned and still using right now daily, besides my 2011 corolla which I am still driving lol !!!

        • RAM usage depends more on the application, if something allocates and uses for example 20GB of RAM, it would use a similar amount on either OS (except of memory compression, fragmentation etc).

  • Definately not good as lunar lake version.

    • +1

I agree, core 2xx is the way to go and a big step forward. if they want to offload core 1xx processors it's gotta go lower

      • The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i with Lunar Lake has been $1999 on sale for the last couple weeks, so this isnt that great of a deal. For some reason these Asus laptops are insanely expensive in Australia.

        • I say hodl. no deal to be had here

  • +1

    Worth mentioning (OP didn’t):
    - Display is 2880 x 1800, 600-nits touchscreen
    - Weight is 1.28kg

Great unit but it’s pricey too.

    • Updated re screen. Thanks
