I would have killed for a machine like this back in school. I had a Pentium 133 MMX laptop.

I didn't even have a laptop in school.

          I had a P100 in year 9, desktop.

  • Remember when we used to call these netbooks?

I struggle to consider anything with an N-series CPU an actual laptop. Particularly when paired with 4GB of RAM (although SSD is a good step up from the soldered MMC storage of old netbooks)

  • According to passmark, that Celeron is about equivalent in performance to a reasonable AMD or Intel offering from literally 10 years ago— 2012. You can get refurbs with a better screen, better cpu, better everything for around this price. They show up on ozb with some regularity.

    • This has a better warranty and a new battery, and likely no fan (haven't checked, but that's usually one of the perks of a low power CPU). Also a new Intel wifi card. You'd want to watch the weight of some of the refurbs too…

I have a similar but lower specced Acer bought in 2016 and it works as well as it did when new. Been very happy with it (cb3-111).

  • That chin on the screen is huge. It's probably 50% screen to body ratio! But still $299, great price!
