    $122.43(+$10-11 shipping)on Mediaform

    • Not in stock

      • -1

it was this morning when I put it in the cart

  • -6

Lowest ever price for these on Amazon

Good sales pitch. It’s been lower at other places.

    Cheaper here

    • +1

What a shame it's not in stock

      • +3

It was in stock when I posted the link

  • -4

    I can legally stalk now

    • Just download the iStalk app too.

  • +4

Highest price was $155… So I don't think this is much of a bargain tbh. Not enough to make me impulse buy

    • +19

RRP is $149 at Apple, which comes with free engraving option and there have been a few Apple gift card promos at woolies etc or 5% off Apple gift cards at few places.

      • +3

I got them for $99 back when HN had a $50 off $150 promo

        • Yep same

        • +1

Yes, that LatitudePay deal with HN was awesome. Bring it on again!

      • +4

Agree. $5.05 saving is not good enough for missing out on free engraving. Needs minimum $20 saving.

        • Agreed. This is almost net worthy. I’m on Ozbargain not apples website. Bit harsh.

          • @BusMan247: It’s because I am on OzBargain site that’s why I want at least $20 discount from Apple’s RRP.

  • +20

A saving of $5.05 compared to Apple's RRP is NOT a bargain.

    • But it’s from Amazon

      • +2

Still cheaper for people already wanting to buy though isn’t it. Which is the whole point of this site, to get things cheaper than rrp

        • +1

So you forgot a few comments above pointing out cheaper price somewhere else? Literally cheaper from Apple themselves with all the gift card promos. One of which is starting in 4 days again or the 5% off gift cards that is available everyday for some people.

I bet if this was any other store, there would be negs incoming left, right and centre at this price.

          • @Pricebeat: 3% off amazon gift cards is available to many everyday as well which makes it still cheaper.

        • +1

if this kind of 'less than 5% off' deal is post worthy, then OZB would be flooded with 200+ deals everyday.

    • +2

Who made you the bargain police?

      • +1

        I have a subpoena and a warrant

    • +1

Yep totally agree, barely even a bargain would rather pick it up from a apple store right now for the extra $5.

    • If you have a lower current price, post it

    • It's $5 cheaper, why isn't this a bargain?

  • +5

Can get them for $133.2 on EBay with AFY10 code

    • Do you have a link? They all bumped their prices to $160-165

        • you are legends! thank you.

Bear in mind, if you purchase using ebay giftcard from shopback then you need to have giftcard total less than 133.2, e.g. $130. you have to pay some money using afterpay, otherwise AFY10 code won't apply. So a $100+$30 or $80/$30 would work

  • +3

These should be free from Apple.

    • +2

Might as well asking for free iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro…

    • Knowing Apple's motives, you're still lucky to get a charging cable in the iPhone box!

  • -3

    Another Apple surveillance item

    • +10

Luckily Google totally doesn't track us via Android OS

      • -4

Luckily some people aren't stupid to think Apple doesn't do the same and hide it under "Privacy and security".

        • +1

"I don't trust Apple's Privacy and Security - I'm going to stick with an historically transparent company like Google who give me discounted products supported by ethical advertisements"

    • +2

Why do people worry if Apple is monitoring them? Apple is so rich they don’t really care about your poor pathetic life, unless you are a super international secret agent with million dollars bounty on your head.

  • +2

These are extremely useful. Here's a real world example…

    https://www.insideimaging.com.au/2022/34485/

    • +1

We’v been using that for elderly who are at risk of absconding.

Inb4: against there right. GTFOH SlavOz.

    • Don’t they notify the thieves’ that there is a tracker nearby
      https://www.apple.com/au/newsroom/2022/02/an-update-on-airta…

      • Yes, since Apple implemented the anti-stalking notification, AIrTags are not as useful in tracking stolen goods anymore. In fact someone commented they are not useful in finding their lost pet because animals often moving from one place to another. AirTags are only useful in tracking lost items that stay stationary.

    • Who ever stolen that was bit stupid lol

  • -1

    Great. I can stalking someone.

    • let me know when so I can put money on you. What barrier you are and who’s riding.

    • -1

Late to the party? Read Nurcopolics' post earlier.

      • -2

Which party? The one where you read every single post? No thanks. Or the one where you get to feel superior by posting passive aggressive comments? No thanks.

        • Both. Otherwise people will just post same comment hundred times, and people just being boring hunky-dory to each other every time XD

  • +12

Attached one to some rental car keys and accidently handed it back in at return. They posted it back to me when I realised - was quite interesting monitoring the airtag as it went from the airport, to auspost distribution centre, back to airport, flew interstate, distribution centre, then onboard with driver could see him doing the rounds before it finally ended up in my letterbox.

  • +1

Any good for tracking your kids?

    • +3

I heard Arkangel works better and has a free trial goin on

    • Possibly a good cheap option if they are going to be near people with Apple Devices for most of the time, but it would have to put on a bracelet or put in a bag (and the kid must keep it on) Otherwise it may be worth paying more for a proper solution such as a kids smartwatch or a cheap / used Apple Watch.

  • +4

Geez I bought a four pack of these last year for $120 from Centrecom.

RRP is $149 with free delivery from Apple, is this really a deal?

Side note, these work great for keeping tabs on your luggage when you travel. Was able to see my bags had arrived at each stop on recent domestic and international travels, takes a bit of the “will they arrive” anxiety out of flying!

    • +3

Reminds me of the old comedy sketch making fun of one of the airline's advertising… Breakfast in Sydney, Dinner in Tokyo, Luggage in Bermuda.

      • Haha that’s good

    • It doesn't change anything apart from you knowing slightly earlier that your bags won't be there when you arrive.

      • +3

You can be waiting for hours sometimes at baggage collection till the last bag is out/collected before finding out your baggage hasn't arrived. It's happened to me, it's not just 'slightly earlier'

        • +1

          Exactly

  • +2

The free engraving when you buy this product from Apple makes it worth buying from Apple (IMO). But then I just wanted one for my keys and not on luggage.

    • Do you put your contact details on the engraving, in case the item is lost? Just curious, what is the benefit of the engraving?

      • +1

Even engraving them 1 to 4 helps identifying which AirTag is for which item.

  • +2

Got for 132 from Costco yesterday.

  • +3

Still ridiculous that you can't share items with family properly. Becomes a real nuisance when you get ringing and notifications from your family member's AirTags.

  • Are the Samsung ones any good? (For people who don't have iPhones)

    • They are all much the same.
You cold even use a third party one such as Tile.

    • yes, family member uses one and is very useful.

it's superior to the airtags in the sense you can click it to find your phone (make it ring)

      • Seen a few YouTube reviews comparing AirTag, Samsung SmartTag and Tile. Seems like SmartTag wins most of the time.

  • Do Apple stores still pricematch?

I remember people matching iPhone prices of aussie retailers

  • -5

My kids love the batteries inside these!

  • +2

You can get these now from Qantas for 20,728 points (was 25,900 points). Not sure if that's a good deal or not.

    • Thanks, just saved cash as I have tons of points

    • +1

Thats basically an east coast return ticket. Use points wisely.

      • I have 500,000 points and nowhere to go.

        • +2

The going rate to sell them is about 1c per point in the classifieds here. So 20k would be around $200 worth alone.

  • +1

$134 from Apple edu store with free shipping

    • How? It's 149

      • -1

Apple education so student pricing. You just need to enrol in a uni degree or something. You can get your money back eventually from all the discounts.

        • The edu store is open to everyone, you don't need to be enrolled. That being said, it seems to have reverted to regular price now. I'm guessing airtags are no longer discounted in the edu store. My employee portal still allows me to purchase for $134.20.

        • I know that, I meant there is not student pricing for AirTags

  • -1

Amazing what Apple charges and people pay.

These are BLE beacons that have been around for years. Barely $5 to manufacture.

    • Yes but it’s not that straightforward and simple.

    • +1

That's stupid. This is not the Tile. The price is mainly for Apple's surveillance network and their software. The only alternative is Samsung and they actually cost more.

      • +1

Samsung ones are $30 a pop ATM, so cheaper actually. I just bought two https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-EI-T5300BBEGEU-Galaxy-Smar…

        • thanks for finding this. I guess technically this lacks the ultrawide band for precise location pinning, so not an exact equivalence, but it does the job for me

          • @nsonha: Currently only the s21 ultra/ plus have uwb so I'm not fussed with my S21 base. The plus with uwb is a waste of money for me.

    • +3

Yes, but do your BLE beacons have millions of iPhones around to help locate your lost items?

  • Is it a good idea to put this in your car ? How is it charged ?

    • +1

Battery lasts about a year and easy to replace.
Putting one in the car is not a bad idea if car theft is a thing where you live. Obviously, hide it somewhere really hard to find.
For me, if my car gets stolen, I’d rather not see it again and insurance to pay up.

      • Steal your own car

    • If the thief has an iPhone he'll get notified that he's tracked. Airtags aren't designed for thief tracking because of privacy concerns.

  • +1

wish i had an iphone12+ to utilise the pin point accrucy of the thing.

  • +2

I’ll buy only if the next version has

    • family sharing is enabled
    • a loop so it can be hung without a case
    • Agree. Also Apple has come up with a new innovative way to track stolen goods while prevent abuse of stalking. Not sure how it is possible though.

    • -2

You can share with specific people it doesnt have to be family

    • +1

The fact you can't share an AirTag with someone else (e.g. your partner) is crazy. It means only one person can track an item at a time unless you attach 2 AirTags to the item (Apple probably wants you to do because $$$). Also means if someone you know regularly uses your AirTagged item, they'll get those annoying anti-stalker alerts when they aren't needed. Please Apple, fix this. There was nothing announced at WWDC to address this!
