Yes it does tend to throttle the output if you’re maxing it out for an extended period. Pretty sure mine drops to 60W when it throttles.

Early ones of the Sandisk 4TB seem to be ok, but wouldn't put my trust in any new ones being bought today. Samsung T7 a better bet.

Been happy with mine, they work just as well as the Apple AirTags (obviously without precision finding).
