      DEAL HAS ANC

      • +1

        Sry, I just noticed now.

  • Can anyone tell how good are these in terms of ANC, compared to pro 2?

    • +3

It does the job fairly well, but not as good as the pro because pro you will have your ear sealed with the rubber tip. This one without rubber. Personally I prefer this one over pro2 because it does get fairly uncomfortable with the rubber over the extended use.

This is the reason I never considered AirPods Pro. I can’t stand silicon earbuds.
I don’t have a reference for ANC to compare so can’t really comment on how good it is

I was the same. Till I tried Pros. Hated all kinds of silicone tips. These don’t build up pressure in your ears because of the seal. Have you tried them? I can wear them easily like 3 hours straight.

          • @HansW: No I haven’t. Probably won’t now that I have these lol.
I’ve always liked the hard plastic of EarPods, AirPods 2 and really like AirPods 4 now that I’ve tried them so no regrets.

          • @HansW: Have you noticed a drop in ANC performance of pro? I have noticed a very significant drop. It was great when I bought a few months ago, it's pretty ordinary now.

            • @Harshmellow: I haven't noticed a drop in the ANC of the pros (1, 2 or USBC) over time. I have used all of these when operating heavy/noisy equipment and they are great hearing protection and sound quality, even for long term use (IMHO).

            • @Harshmellow: Hmm not really. I use these at work around loud machines and they work pretty well. Wonder if your seal isn’t perfect.

agree completely on silicon ear pads. Weird. never use those….

        • I've had my AirPods 4 ANC for about 4 months now, use them everyday on the bicycle in transparency mode (ANC whilst allowing some outside noise) and they are pretty good. Flew to Brisbane the other day and had them in full ANC mode and they were pretty good, it was much quieter but you could still hear the engine noise, I'd say it probably cutout about 60% of the noise and made it a lot quieter and more enjoyable.

Obviously they won't be as good as over the ear ones that block out all the noise. But I'm very happy with them.

Oh and the conversation awareness feature is also very good and the minute you start speaking it mutes the music so you don't need to pause / remove from your ear when having a quick conversation.

    • I have had Pro 2s and these. These are amazingly comfortable than the Pros. Even the ANC is like up to 80% of the Pros. But I like the silicone tips as they stay in my ears better when I’m running.

    • I have both the AirPods Pro 1 and the 4 with ANC. The noise cancellation on the 4s is great, about 90% as good as the Pro 1, just sometimes when you move your head, a bit of noise can sneaks in. Battery life is also great. They’re more comfortable than the Pros, but the Pro’s silicone tips help them stay in my ears better. For some people, like my partner finds 4 don’t stay in as well as the first 2 gens, they keep falling out. I think it’s better to try them on before buying.

    • Not as good as Pros/overhead because it doesn't have the silicone/rubber tips to create the seal in/around your ears. But it's very comfortable to wear for a long period of time.
I've been travelling by buses with the 4 ANC for 3 months and I'm happy with my money spent. Only need about 50% volume compared to 70-80% of the normal Airpods when sitting at the back with diesel engine noises.

Have one of this, IMO love it, ANC obviously not the greatest as it doesn't seal as good as pro but most important thing is the fit is right.

  • How u do the PB?
I was told the that costco need membership, so OW won't do it.

    • +1

I had no troubles getting it price matched without a Costco Membership - just show them the Costco webpage in-person at the counter.

    • Perhaps they did at some point but now they just price beat Costco, just need to show them the website with the price.m

    • I price beat costco at OW a few months ago. Called their support centre and they confirmed they would price beat costco

  • Can I do the PB on line?

    • It has to be done instore or over phone during business hours
