Seems a decent price for this switch. It has been cheaper, but still not bad!

Recently I ordered paper towels from Amazon that came from WA's warehouse. It would have been quicker to ship them from the US. Must be shit having such slow delivery for everything.
I had an SSD come from Amazon US in a week. I was verry happy with that.
Yeah, Amazon's US shipping is great. My point was how bad their WA shipping is.
I have this exact one from Amazon. Took 2 days shipping to perth. I was pretty impressed with the speed of delivery.
Thanks. Planning to migrate to Unifi Ap’s in one area. This will be needed
you'll need PoE or PoE+ for Unifi. Or at least a head-start to support it.
The $30 adapters can become expensive, and if you need to buy a PoE Switch/Hub, it can get even more expensive, i.e. $30 x 8, plus 8 power sockets, sic.
The main difference is that PoE+ allows you to run a chain of devices across one network cable, i.e. you can run 2, or possibly 3 AP's from a single network cable if they have PoE Passthrough.
I'd recommend you get the $50 Unifi Switch instead, it runs from PoE input, or USB-C which is easy to find. https://ubwh.com.au/Ubiquiti/UniFi-Switching-and-Routing/USW…?
or, get the In-Wall AP which has a 2-port switch or 4-port switch for almost a similar price. There will be a delay on In-Wall 6 or 6E AP's, but they should be under $200 each.
Once you have a few AP's, you can use the 8-port with 4 PoE sockets, or the 8/16-port PoE+ switch for future-proofing.
you can also buy the 8-port "lite" version for $130-$200, but due to the power supply not being AU / CEC approved (it still works), it's hard to find.

I have provision in my newly build home for 2 access points (each end of the house). The provion is simply an RJ45 cable behind a cover, cabled to a central hub.
The idea is to simply install 2 access points. Power provided by PoE from the central hub. I also have some non-PoE devices like TV, PC, NAS connected to the central hub using a 5 port switch.
What should I get for powering the Ubiquity access points?
Damn this is exactly what I was looking for!
That's amazing to get a managed PoE switch for that price that I don't have to immediately worry about flashing.
No PoE out though only in. Might be better off getting the net gear equivalent which has poe pass through
@saikor: Ahhhh misread. Port 1 is PoE in…
Yeah that's a problem
The 4th picture is quite misleading, not sure what they want to show? 4 in 5 out?
Also, available speeds are 0/100/1000 ???
Thanks OP. Had been on the lookout for a while.
Do note that this is not PoE. Been awhile for that version's sale. Nevertheless, this is a good price for a gigabit switch!
Well duh, it's a $25 switch
can these be piggy backed? asking for a mate
Its a switch, so yeah you can.. dont forget you lose 2 ports for uplinks per switch past 2.
Looks like the RJ45 surrounds are plastic. Anyone know if they are?
Definitely looks like plastic in the review images
Wanting to use one of my mesh units to connect my TV, ps4, RPi and Powerline adaptor. Would this be sufficient for 'average' consumption?
Top tip, power consumption is low, 5V, low amperage. I power these using the USB off the router, saves using yet another plug in the outlet.
