Credit goes to @Hahayoon from their reply in the other post for an extender.
It’s a Special order item. Suspiciously cheap, so hopefully orders won’t get cancelled.

from that link "Ultimate Compatibility – Extend the range of any Wi-Fi router or wireless access point"
Yes, it's also a basic repeater.
Yes that would be standard wireless repeating/extending mode. Which just replicates your wifi. Not the greatest option.
If you want it to function in a proper mesh style system it will only work with tp link devices since it's using their old mesh tech.
It was the same price at Amazon
How does this compare to the $59 RE450 posted a few hours ago?
The TP-Link RE605X is generally the better choice over the TP-Link RE450, primarily because of its Wi-Fi 6 support. Here’s a comparison to help you decide:
TP-Link RE605X (AX1800)
✅ Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) – Faster speeds, lower latency, and better efficiency
✅ Speeds: Up to 1.8 Gbps (1201 Mbps on 5GHz + 574 Mbps on 2.4GHz)
✅ OFDMA & MU-MIMO – Handles multiple devices better
✅ Gigabit Ethernet Port
✅ Seamless OneMesh Support – Works better with TP-Link OneMesh routers
✅ Better Range & Stability
TP-Link RE450 (AC1750)
✅ Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) – Still fast but less efficient than Wi-Fi 6
✅ Speeds: Up to 1.75 Gbps (1300 Mbps on 5GHz + 450 Mbps on 2.4GHz)
✅ Three External Antennas – Good coverage but lacks Wi-Fi 6 efficiency
✅ Gigabit Ethernet Port
✅ No Wi-Fi 6 Features – Less efficient with multiple devices
Which One to Choose?
If you have a Wi-Fi 6 router or want future-proofing, go with RE605X.
If you’re on a budget and only have a Wi-Fi 5 router, RE450 is still a good choice.
For gaming, streaming, and multiple devices, RE605X is better due to lower latency and improved efficiency.
Verdict: RE605X is the better option if you want modern features and better performance. 🚀
Thanks ChatGPT
Lol!
Not really suspiciously cheap. It's using their old proprietary mesh system tech which only works with other TP link products.
Can use it in standard wireless repeating mode with anything of course but that's a very poor option for extending a wifi signal these days.
So it wont work with netcomm router?
It will work in the basic transmission repeater way, which slows your wifi network.
proper smart meshing only works with the TPLink routers which support this older version of their protocol.
ohh, I just want wifi to be repeates at 100mbps. would the too much for this device?
Thanks. Bought one. I have been using Pixlink, Chinese made extender. Hopefully this one is an upgrade.
Does this work with eero 6+?
TP-Link RE605X won't make a mesh Wi-Fi network with the eero 6+. You are better off purchasing another eero.
Which one of these will give you the same network name and password as the main router?
This one.
If your existing router is also from tp-link and marked as OneMesh, this will work without changing network ssid and password.
Nice find OP.
Anyone knows what the Bunnings "special order" delivery timeframe is?
7th to 12th
Last one: special orders desk guestimated 2 weeks.
It arrived within few days of that. I thought it was pretty good for the costs. - but supply lines and distributors will vary…
I have this one and paid $99 a year ago. It a really good extender while we used it.
Thx. Price beat at officeworks
Can you please send/upload the receipt for it if possible
No need Office works looks it up online themselves to confirm.
I was just turned away from the Pitt St OW (Sydney). They said to be able to price beat, the competitor needs to have stock and because special orders are not considered in stock as they need to be ordered from the supplier, they couldn't do it. :(
Same just got back from office works too. $38.76 after price beat.. no receipt needed. They look it up online themselves to confirm.
I was at Bunnings and all their routers and networking stuff had discount stickers on them. Maybe they're getting rid of them
According to its specifications and the following page, it is EasyMesh compatible.
https://www.tp-link.com/au/easymesh/product-list/
For V3, don't think this one is since the packaging says onemesh
So it wont work with netcomm router?
it will work with any router as a wifi extender. it may not work in "mesh" mode with ALL routers
We have an Asus TUF-AX3000 router - any value options that will extend the reception without needing a seperate ssid and password?
buy another asus router as mesh satellite
Thank you, got one
Credit goes to @Hahayoon 😅
Hey guys. How will this function if I hardwire it to a generic ISP router? Will it all be 1 network? Will phones automatically connect and switch to the best available wifi device?
Just had a failed price match attempt at Carlton (Sydney) Officeworks. They called the manager and everything and said they are not allowed to price match with products that are Special Order or Backorder.
Try over the phone. I just did a price beat 30 minutes ago.
OW wouldn't price beat over the phone due to being a 'special order' item. You must have been lucky.
I ended up going home and ordered through the Bunnings link which OP supplied. If I get it, great. If not oh wells
I bought a TP-Link camera from bunnings special order the other week that was way cheaper than everywhere else, they day after i ordered it the price went up to what everyone else had it for… It never said it was on special or anything either
Yeah that happened to me and a camera too. No idea what’s happening with those prices.
Receipt from Officeworks Launceston for anyone who wants to try use it at other stores.
