These numbers are from the latest Hardware Unboxed 6 game (medium quality preset) average benchmarks for 2022 (https://youtu.be/gMUcZ7978rc?t=570). It doesn't take into consideration Ray Tracing, DLSS, etc I am aware 3k res isn't a thing, but I averaged the 1440p and 4k resolution performance stats. I personally run a 1440p ultrawide, so 3k is about right for me.

wow, great pick up. My typo was the 4k performance of the 3080ti, should be 102, not 93, final figures of average and $ per frame are still correct.

i think these prices may shoot up now that LHR has been unlocked

    • Depends on proportion of people currently mining on LHR?

    • There aren't as many people buying those in bulk from what I can see.

      • from a retailer perspective do you see these prices continuing to go down?

    • +3

Even at 120mh, it's about $3/day profit. It's…not great. No matter how you look at it, 600d payback is terrible. The card would even have an appreciable chance of dying before then.

      • I just throw ROI out the window since I've been doing this since 2016.

      • Won't be able to mine at that rate for anywhere near that amount of days.

        • Plenty of other choices crypto wise once POS happens if you google "whattomine" to see next most profitable only 20 - 30 % less $$$ than Ethereum at the moment changes daily many will just move to the next profitable one you would think.

I think mostly power prices going up like interest rates with houses will cool the market reducing profitability even more. But those with solar could last out even longer…

          • @letthewookiewin: But if the majority swarm to mine alt coins it would be such a significant migration of hashpower (which ETH has most of), that it would make it far less profitable, if at all.

NBMiner 100% unlocked as well. Bomb in June?

    • Yeah 100% NBMiner 120.6 hash on Hiveos on this card for those interested from my testing on the two I have. Bomb later in the year looks like not going to be ready for june maybe October?

Be interesting what this does on GPU prices like on the higher end cards like 3090/ti miners may not bother if they can get similar hash out old LHR cards? So more availability for gamers atleast for the higher end models?

      • 3080 10GB hits 100mh/s, still the most cost effective at around $1200-1300 during Afterpay sales.

3080 Ti hits 120mh/s, cheapest was $1699 during the same sale.

With time running out the key is the fastest hash rate possible.

  • You Tuber PCBuilder is reporting(yesterday) anyother 15% or more drop in cards in the US.

Seems like a good MPU. Actually an absolute bargain I just ordered 25

I sincerely hope all this Crypto shit would just free-fall to $0 value. This shit costing power and making nothing to create beneficial social value. Most importantly it hurts our normal gamers' benefit.

    • you do know coal mining consume more energy and our banking electricity cost more than crypto mining? and i do feel for gamer.. buy now if u can.. if not.. well u will see miner eat all

      • +3

Thermal & metallurgical coal have real world applications. Banks process financial transactions that are used to actually purchase goods and services.

Crypto transactions do nothing. Maybe finance terrorism and scams.

        • +1

you do know you can buy condom with crypto and got cashback?

          • @pembajak_sejati: You mean by performing a Visa transaction (because no one actually accepts any crypto) which you then pay off with crypto?

        • -1

Bitcoin today is allowing lots of South Americans working in the US to send cheap and fast small transactions to family back home.

If the world reserve currency was Bitcoin we wouldn't be facing massive inflation and it would be much harder for states to wage endless wars that just create destruction and kick backs for elites.

            @Ghos7:

Bitcoin today is allowing lots of South Americans working in the US to send cheap and fast small transactions to family back home.

            No they don't.

If the world reserve currency was Bitcoin

We'd be in a massive economic disaster because no one would even be able to process a single transaction.

            • @Autonomic: good argument, but yes they do.

              • @Ghos7: Should be trivial to prove then. Especially since transaction fees & processing times are sky high and traditional remittance is so cheap in comparison.

But then how will all the people with aspergers make a living? They are the miners. Crypto is like an ecuadorian embassy with good income.

    • How you come to the conclusion that mining is unbecoming to societal norms while gaming should be a protected sacred cow is beyond my reckoning. Im a gamer, and tbh, nothing good has ever come from gaming, its an expensive, wasteful hobby that saps your time in exchange for virtual shit that means nothing outside of your own head. But dont mind me, im just here for a 3080ti to play OSRS with. ;)

      • If you can't tell the difference you're completely apathetic and belong in a country like America. Miners are parasitic. Like a parasite they'll destroy an entire existing environment to thrive and feed themselves. Gamers are either children or hard working people gaming in their recreational time. Neither deserved to be ripped off due to parasites. One is completely unethical the other isn't. Miners could simply get a job like everyone else rather than destroying pc gaming.

The low end has been completely locked out from pc gaming by miners and nvidia/amd exploiting the situation. Children don't work lol

        • +1

Most miners I know are high income earners, either in Software engineering or in Banking or stock trading jobs. They're mostly people that knows how to make big bucks and with mining they even make more money with little efforts and less risk. Some also lucky with trading crypto last year and earn big profit out of it, personally mining is less risk than trading for me, at least the mining rigs are real hardware that still worth something down the line.

Its Capitalism, the market shifts and changes, you can be bitter and revengeful that you are unable to adapt but you cant blame technology, and those smart enough to ride the tide. Your lack of funds and fear of change hurts nobody but yourself.
