I am not sure if this is a concern for anyone, but the company seems to have a Chinese association. With all their govt requirements for software to have secret backdoors and monitoring, I personally will not download this software.
    Thank you anyway.

but the company seems to have a Chinese association

When you google: "Where is Digiarty software located?" the first answer is: "CHENGDU, China—(BUSINESS WIRE)— #4k—WinX Video Converter's H.".

      Then the second link: https://www.zoominfo.com/c/digiarty-software-inc/312115235
states that their HQ is in the US (which incidentally is just a PO box).

      Good pick up, @LJFlat.

I have been scammed before with other software I purchased. I always do a background check. Free doesn't always mean good ;)

Same reason I throwed out all my Smart Home devices from US companies lol

      Thank you for posting this.

  • Is this one a lifetime or a 1 year license, please? The associated website graphic says "Time limited". Thanks.

    • Lifetime i guess? But it's for this version only no updates

    • From what I understand from what they have written, you can activate it before March 25 and use it for as long as you like, but I suspect you can never activate it again after March 25, so if you reinstall your system or get a new computer you won’t be able to take it with you.

Pretty sure this is the same as the last time it was offered free.

      • It's not an issue…Every time they release a new version, they will have free giveaway…

Handbrake is free and the best, will also support nvidia and amd hardware encoding and it's convert faster than most video converter out there https://handbrake.fr/

and Handbrake can download YT videos, merge videos, edit, trim, add effects, and even screen capture too now? No? Then they are not really comparable after all.

Handbrake + Youtube-DL + Davinci Resolve + OBS. Does all those, but far better, and free.

        • I'll also add that VLC can do conversion in a pinch as well! Does a pretty damn good job of it too but it's quite clunky to get it to do it right if you're not familiar with it. Thanks for the list of free software to check out, gonna give them a squiz

          • @aaronsd: I’ve used VLC too. Good for ripping too.

Otherwise if you’re a Linux geek, ffmpeg or mpv have worked well for me over the years.
