I'm still confused. I think it's more your formatting.

Assume they mean $519 not $159 for normal Signature price

          • @digitalane: $159 is the price for the standard version

Producer edition is a different version

@TellemHesDreaming: Aha - makes sense - though that has nothing to do with this deal i guess - seems it’s been removed from the post

  • Is this Fruit Loops? Didn’t know this was still going.

    • Yeah it is

  • Is FL still big or has everyone gone to Ableton and the like?

    • +2

Big enough to still be within the DAW discussions. I understand that Pro Tools and Logic X tend to be talked about as the "industry standard" but FL studio definitely has it's place and is also one of the cheaper options, specially for home users. With that said, I think both Ableton and FL are 2 of the most widely used.

      • +2

Pro Tools does still carry that term a bit due to legacy. It's been outclassed by almost the majority of the competition now so that has been eroded a bit and I'd never recommend, or use it where possible. Logic I've never heard referred to as industry standard at all though. It's up there with some of the more popular ones, but not really a standard. I've noticed in certain genres, different DAWs seem to be more popular than others however. Agreed as well, Ableton and FL Studio are definitely very popular overall.

  • i found fruity loops to be very painful to make sample beats and gave up on it
maschines workflow is alot more easier, only thing is that you cant mix in it
ableton looks like another better DAW for sampling also

    • +2

Yeah I can understand that. I think everyone should give a few DAWs a try before choosing one. Whatever workflow works out better for you, that's the choice.

Keep in mind that FL Studio is the evolution of Fruity Loops, so it might be worth another look as it has grown a lot. Definitely a different workflow though and I needed to watch a few tutorials to get my head around it, but it's actually easy once you do and easy with samples. It's still not my main DAW, but good to use at times. Ableton is really quite good for more than sampling. Even the MIDI is pretty strong these days. Still don't like mixing in it either really. It's OK, but other DAWs are better for that.

  • Thanks, does this come in a physical box or is it entirely soft?

  • +1

my advice for all music production software is, obtain 'demo' copies for free from the internet, and only pay once you get income from it. the software is so expensive and the main issue is you can never resell it so you basically lose all the value

    buy physical gear only!
